......Impossible.

"Missingno." isn't programmed in this. Missingno. only appeared in Red/Blue/Yellow/Green. In GSC there was a "?????", purely a glitch of Pokémon whose hex code was 00 00 or over FC 00 (FC 00 is a Togepi egg in GSC, FD 00 is the glitch character).

In Ru/Sa, however, Nintendo decided to program (?), which is referred as "?????", and is the icon that appears when you encounter 00 or, again, over FC. And then, in Ruby and Sapphire, there's ??, which uses "?????" as a name as well. This is when you encounter 00 01, or over Chimecho's hex code.

You can never come over a glitched thing unless you're playing a hack that has modified the game to be as unstable as RBY.

You are telling the truth that is how missingno looks like.Don't keep long it will mess up your game.It could be kanagshan.sorry if spelled wrong.it happened in the RBG series.

thanks i knew someone would belive me

and S-kun is right but that is what i call it because that is what it is the name simply refers to the fact that it is a missing number in the pokedex

that is why i call it missingno.

By my info, it's trading from RB or using a GameShark.

poketrainer2004: Fair enough.

What cry does it make? 00 01 makes the cry of an Unown. O.o;

This is weird..... Now that I think of it...... I saw a Pokemon that was a circle with a ? mark in the middle on my Saphire. I thought it was a glitch of virus so I restarted my game. But the weirdest part is, I never used any cheats or have Action Replay.

How did I get it?

You'll see it at some point, as it's the icon for the PokéDex Pokémon that you haven't seen.

Really? It was on my old file with 136 Pokemon in my Dex. I thought it was a virus my brother accidently put in the game, so I deleted the file. Dang it...... If I had known it was a good thing, I would never had done such a stupid thing! I even had a shiny blue Gulpin..........

It is qute posabul let me explan it spuly: In all pokemon gams natendo always over looks a bit of pokemon data. And then it finds it's way into the world of the game and taks the form of the ferst thing it finds. Thes pokemon usuly contan bits of AI and avoud the usless data wipe. Than they become pokemon themselvs and are now chetabul.

That is the end and yes I have caught Missingno in most of the games.

sorry, I don't have time to read every response but this is clearly normal. Game Cheats can cause abnormal graphics hence causing Missingo.

Im positive it won't do the same things Missingo in Red and Blue did (give you infinite items like Rare Candy) but it will never hatch (I have tried I saw one)

It is just going to mess up your game so I suggest you either

A. Try to hatch it (will never happen)
B. Just release it

Missingno. is a hazard to your game, like Master Blaze said. My friend, who had Ruby, caught Missingno. Once he caught it, he trained it. Then one day, he showed me something very odd. Missingno was MISSING!!! He checked his PC and found this off Green Egg.

He hatched it after quite a long while, only to get his game erased! It was a good idea to catch it, but not train it. If you keep Missingno. in a separate Box than your other Pokemon, it can't infect your other Pokemon that easily and destroy your game. But it is weird to see it in R/S.

poketrainer2004 and mew42003 - PLEASE STOP SPAMMING!

All right people. There is NO Missingno in Ruby/Sapphire/Even Emerald. Game Freak fixed the glitch in RBY and anything that you do see is the result of a bad input code by a cheating device. It uses the question mark as that's what the game's programmed to do if you don't have a certain Pokemon in your PokeDex.
I don't think that the "glitch" will corrput your game like the RBY one did, but it's still a safe bet to keep an eye on it just in case.

There is missingno in Ruby and Sapphire. Trust me. There is. I have actually seen it. and I know what are the random encounter chances.

If you don't want to believe me, go ahead. I can get into other information of how missingno is encountered.

EDIT: By missingno, I kinda meant a missing number 000 pokemon. and sorry for posting the link, i didn't know, but now i do.
