Is there something you've always wanted to do at PC but you haven't had a chance, or just haven't tried yet?

Imagine that you were given one of the greatest offers ever. The offer to become the best at something in PC (aka the areas PC members can specialise in pretty much) instantly, however the catch is, you'd be useless at everything else in the list...

Which would you choose?
Best Style Designer
Best RNGer
Best Battler
Best Battle Log Writer
Best Challenger
Best TCG Player
Best Artist
Best Graphics Designer
Best Pixel Artist
Best Writer
Best Poet
Best Roleplayer
Best Hacker
Best Game Designer
Best Webmaster
Best Debater

Would you try something you haven't done before but you've always wanted to, but haven't in fear that you'd be no good at it? Or would you pick something you're already good at and want to hone those skills? Or would you pick something not in that list that you could be skilled at, other than being the best PC member because that doesn't really count as a skill and isn't the intention of the thread (anything in the list you'd still be useless at).

You can reject this offer with the idea in your mind that while you can still do everything else to an extent, there's a chance you'll never become the best at any of those one areas. What's your decision?

I honestly think becoming the best member at PC is what's important to me right now(despite what the thread asks), rather than being the best at a specific area, I could concentrate on being an important part of the community overall. n___n

Edit: I'd be best artist. Writing falls under art(or I consider it as a form of art in itself), and so does graphics, and poetry also falls under writing, which is an art. n___n so yeah, I'd be best Artist.

Edit 2: And In actuality and in all seriousness to this thread, I'd be best Writer. That'd be important to me rather than anything else, thought to be honest....Graphics Design has always been more of an interest of mine than writing so...I guess I'd go with Graphic Design overall.

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was.

Best Graphics Designer
I've only just started out but I'm pretty terrible at it anyway.

Best Artist
I'm terrible at drawing, so it would be pretty cool it draw whatevers on my mind without it looking like crap.

Well, for me it boils down very comfortably to Artist, Writer or Graphic Artist. Basically, graphic art and writing are things I already see as my strong points, however art is such a big field and I always wished I was more talented at traditional art and stuff...

I'd say I'd probably ditch Graphic Art and pick normal Writer if this was an everyday situation, cause that is more likely to lead me somewhere in the future, however, I interpret you are talking almost solely for PC, so might as well stick with Graphic Art! :D I've always wanted / been trying so hard to wiggle my way into the all time great graphic artists here at PC...

This is one of the greatest offers ever? xD

I would probably choose either best webmaster or best writer, if only because both of those skills would be useful to me outside of PC. I mean, my job right now involves web design. xD

But if I had the choice to reject it...I probably would. I mean, I think I'm a pretty good poet, and good at my job of being a webmaster, and I wouldn't want to lose either of those because they're both really important to me and things I'm passionate about, which are few and far between. Losing one of them would be devastating to me. Plus I can always work to increase my skill in this case.

I'm planning to become a journalist, and while I'd love to gain all the skills to become a great designer, becoming the best writer on PC would help me tremendously. There are a lot of talented writers here, especially if you put all the inactive members in there as well. It'd be such a great asset to me to be considered the best writer here.

I don't care about being good at RNG, battling, battle logging, completing challenges, TCG, pixel art, game designer or hacker. I don't even know what most of those acronyms even mean. How are any of those going to help me in life? But, I have to say, best writer, poet, and roleplayer kind of go hand in hand with eachother, so that's a bit of a put off. If I'm good at writing, though, surely I'd be good at poetry and -- especially (considering I'd like to write a fiction novel) -- roleplaying? It'd be nice to keep my skills in style design and a webmaster, but alas!

I don't really care about any of those, I'm afraid... except for the option that I'm picking: Best Writer. I like writing stuff - articles, reviews, think-pieces etc. - and to be the best on PC at that stuff would be nice. Just for my own satisfaction, really... nothing more.

What's RNG stand for? Google tells me it means random number generator.

I'm gonna answer like everyone else and say I'd want to be the Best Writer. Everything else would be interesting, I suppose, if I were good at it, but writing seems like the thing that I'd be most satisfied with. It's something I like to do away from PC so it would just add to that. I'd be willing to trade any other PC-related skills to be good at that.

Given what you've stated the catch to be, and that I'm already not-useless at multiple options, I refuse the offer.

What's RNG stand for? Google tells me it means random number generator.
That probably is what it means here — the PRNG used in Pokemon games is exploitable to the ends of acquiring shiny Pokemon, ones with particular EVs, etc.

Best Graphics Designer
This is what I am interested in doing as a career, so I'd love to have that status.

September 7th, 2011, 11:45 AM
I'm already drawing a lot, and trying to improve, and I would love to hone those skills, like you said, but it would be great if I could be good at something which I've never been good at before. It comes down to Artist, Pixel Artist (things that I already do), and Hacking, as a thing that I have only a little experience in. I'm just not sure if I would want to give up all those other options, just for one skill.

September 7th, 2011, 12:27 PM
You serious?

Best Style Designer
Best RNGer
Best Battler
Best Battle Log Writer
Best Challenger
Best TCG Player
Best Artist
Best Graphics Designer
Best Pixel Artist
Best Writer
Best Poet
Best Roleplayer
Best Hacker
Best Game Designer
Best Webmaster
Best Debater

I would love to be a better webmaster. I already have some forums but I would love to be a much better one! I would also like to be a theme maker but that's part of Webmaster really. : \ Since all good forums and websites have awesome CSS themes. But webmaster would be the top thing there.

And since I would be the best at PC I would top some really good people. Like Steve. :)

September 7th, 2011, 12:29 PM
I am a good hacker, but probably not the best. It'd be cool if I was known as Best Hacker, but I don't really care that much if I am or not.

September 7th, 2011, 5:27 PM
I want to be the best RNGer because I tried RNG a few times in Pokemon Platinum and Black, but failed miserably. I want to get help in that area.

September 7th, 2011, 7:10 PM
Νο my fair lady, thank you very much.

I don't want to be the best on something. I lose interest on it when that happens. But, if it's only PC we're talking about, I suppose 'best debater' would do it. That way I'd feel my arguments are actually on the good side, always.

Best graphics designer. I suck so much at any digital art, just something I will never, ever be good at. ever. But it is something I have always wanted to do, so it would be pretty damn awesome if I were the best at that.

Best debater, for I have no interest in any other of the choices (except for best artist and best writer, best writer would come in handy for journalism one day and best artist because ART IS COOL YUP) and I would really like to have some argumentative skills. Argumentative skills that don't involve calling people buttheads.

I would choose either Best Debater, Best Graphics Designer or Best Blogger (which was not included in the list but should have been!)

Graphics is something I have zero skill at, but I've always wanted to be able to do it. Being the best at debating would just be fantastic for smacking people down in Other Chat and blogging is something I enjoy doing immensely :)

You can reject this offer with the idea in your mind that while you can still do everything else to an extent, there's a chance you'll never become the best at any of those one areas. What's your decision?

I think this is currently me at the moment. My personality being myself trying different things and I don't usually give up unless I really over it and bored of it.

But if I really had to choose I guessed it would cut everything done to 3 of them:

Best Graphics Designer
Being a GFXer was something which kept me on PC for a while. Although now I don't have much inspiration left to make many pieces, I still have an interest in them especially since there are some awesome Graphics Designers at PC, I'm always pleased to see other's works. Who knows, maybe if I do one day get inspired again I may start making it back.

Best Artist
Probably since this is the one thing that fuels me now. Always drawing on the tablet where ever I bring my laptop. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil and drawing pokemon since I was 5.
Art is a passion I've always have and always will have.

Best Writer:
Being a writer is something that is new to me, but who knows ow far I'd go.

According to the most recent Member of the Year polls, I already am the best Challenger http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/Smileys/Custom/tongue.gif ... or was I second, I don't exactly remember it since it's been a while.
It's not particularly likely I'll be able to defend that title by the end of this year and I probably didn't deserve it back then either, but whatever. No, one skill that would really come in handy would be being the best debater, but of course quite the opposite is the case. I should have sticked to challenges.

Rejected without a second thought. Power obtained in such a manner shatters just as quickly. True strength takes lots of time and effort to forge but is all the more rewarding once you attain it.

I'd want to be a skilled at making electronic music and music production really seeing as THAT'S WHERE MY FOREVER UNFULFILLED DREAM LIES. Failing that I'd enjoy being an expert historian too

pc related
best writer due to what Patchisou and Cat Dog already said.
