Name a single thing that you are particularly thankful for from each of your parents. If you were raised by someone other than your parents, or a single parent, then adjust accordingly.
For my mum, the wonderful Sarah; I am thankful to her for reading to me all the time and helping me learn to read from a very young age. If it weren't for her, I don't think I'd have been able to succeed as well as I have.
For my father, the comedic genius Gaffy Duck; I am thankful that he continued to involve himself in my life despite being miserable and 400KM away.

I thank my mother, Ruth for always being there for me and the only one who stuck around throughout my life.
I thank my father, Randy for buying me a lot of stuff I couldn't get otherwise and introducing me to pretty good music nowadays.

This is an adorable thread.
My father I'd thank for nothing for giving me my love of computers, so I never had a doubt in what I wanted to do with my life.
My mother I'd thank for being supportive as a mom and still making it easy to talk to her so even if I have no friends to talk to about something, I can talk to her.

I thank my mother for looking after me throughout the years.
I thank my father for being someone I can discuss things with.

My mom, Lisa, has been one of the most supportive people in my life.
My dad, Frank, expects a lot out of me and he says things in offensive ways, but it ends up motivating me to prove him wrong more than anything.

I thank my mom for being helpful to me and to get me motivated to focus on my work
I thank my dad for keeping me out of general trouble.

This is odd for me, for me and my parents have never had a... healthy relationship, I'm using a euphemism here.
Mother, I thank you for bestowing upon me your sense of wit, as harsh and sharp as it may be towards the wrong people at the wrong times. It's served me well in my 17 years of life.
Father, thank you for teaching me that I never want to become an alcoholic like yourself. I don't want alcohol to ruin my life like it has ruined yours.

Thank you Mom, for teaching me how laugh at myself, how to be patient, how to be a good person all around, and how to be polite and respectful towards everyone.
Thank you dad for teaching me about working hard, for being a hard worker yourself, and for sustaining our family all this time.
And thank you both for raising me the way you have. I am truly blessed to have you both in my life. ^__^

Mom, thanks for teaching me how to stand my ground and never give up or surrender to others.
Dad, thanks for supporting our family and trying-usually good-intentioned-to help me.

Dear mom, thanks for always being there for me, supporting me, teaching me how to live independent and always telling me that God is with me all the time. Thank you for working hard, and thank you for not getting too angry at me when I act stupid.
Dear dad, thanks for helping mom give birth to me. No thanks for your bad attitude, however.
...I have a bad relation with my ex-dad. Kay?

I thank my Nan and Pop for saving my life in both a physical and metaphorical sense.
This is mainly 'cause living with my mother would've made my life turn out a lot differently, and I know others who've grown up in situations like with my mother and yeaaah they didn't turn out that well. In physical sense, as I've mentioned, I was born with a hole in the heart which normally, kids would've had operations to get over that, buuut Nan somehow literally did the impossible almost and helped me get over the hole in the heart without an operation, and as well as taking me into hospital when I couldn't breathe due to it as a kid.
As for parents, idk. :x

You taught me so well to fend for myself at school. Being a small kid although plenty did like me, there were some kids that didn't and would bully me. If it wasn't for you then I wouldn't have the self confidence to speak up or fend for myself.
Dear Mum, You taught me how I should never give up until the end and how I should never doubt myself or believe I couldn't do something. Especially being the stubborn kid I was back then. If it wasn't for you then, I wouldn't be the person who I am now who never gives up till the job is done and I still would be that stubborn kid who always gave up a little too soon.

Wow I'd never call my mother 'mummy'. 'Tis just weird imo. (refers to thread title)
Thank you, mother, for all the things you've taught me, and for all the times you stopped me from being frivolous and for all the conversations we had.
And thank you, father, for using your rough but effective methods to teach me some hardships of life. It shows how much you care for me even though you always look so distant.
Notice how everyone but Toujours and zappyspiker put their female guardian first-not that it matters in any way.

Thank my mum for always being so caring and supportive of everything I've wanted to do, and been a great role model in shaping who I am today!
Thanking my dad for his sense of humour and for always being there to have a joke with and sharing some quality time telling terrible dad jokes. :D

Thank my mom for making me a hateful person.

I thank my mother for saving my skin a million times and then some with money, favors, and most importantly lies to my father so he doesn't catch on. I think my mother has also given me a "lololol I'll do that later" personality which isn't always so wonderful to have, but I think it adds to my "I don't care do what you want" mentality so I appreciate it.
I thank my dad for driving cleanliness into me. I'm sure it's an annoying trait to some people, but overall I think it's great that I'm a cleanly person and organized when it comes to all my things. I think I also thank him for listening to me and I guess at least trying to help even though nothing came of it. But I guess it was just nice that he made a small effort at the time.

I thank my mother for giving birth to me, as well as bringing me up the way I am today. She taught me skill, confidence, life and pain. But in the end, it was all worth it.
I thank my father for nothing at all, but helping my mother give birth to me.
