I think Charmander is the best choise. Fistly all knows that Fire is the best choise of three. Secondly Charizard can beat very easy Raichu with an Earthquake. Thirdy over the other fire starters, Charizard can beat Blaiziken with Fly, and I think that is better that Typhlosion because Charizard is also Flying type. And at last, CHARIZARD HAS HIS BLAST BURN!!!

I go for my fave, Torchic, as the mighty Blaziken is the result of training it. Nice addition of Pikachu as well, some miss it as a starter

I hate, the Jotho starters, Mudkip, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur (not much of a hate, but not very friendly with it)

But I'm stuck in between three of my best. Torchic, Treeko and Charmander. o.o;;;

Training can be a great help. o_O; So can breeding. Treeko + has great speed. Torchic nice attack. Chars+ sp. atk. @_@;;;;

In the end, I'd choose Treeko! ^__^;

Charmander is also one of my favorite starters. It has a strong attack. Mostly fire type starters always has strong attacks when they have evolved to the second stage.

XD Anime has many wrong parts... Look a Blaziken can beat a non so Strong Charizard, but if they have the same power Charizard wins because he has resistance he is flying and is also faster than Blaziken!

yeah but when ash fights harrison blaziken jumps like 50 feet and almost flys but i beleave Charizard would win

No Blaziken can't learn Thunder Punch, I checked it right now! Anyway my oppinion is that he is the best (And that's the truth)

Secondly Charizard can beat very easy Raichu with an Earthquake.

Although an EV trained Raichu woul dmost probably get the first strike in with Thunder Bolt=one zapped -Zard. Even if Charizard gets the first strike in, no STAB for Earthquake, so if Raichu survives....

But the battle between Charmander and Torchic Charmander would win

Lol charizard's and raichu's max stats speed is the same! 299 Anyway usualy Charizard is faster.

Squirtle =3 Blastoise has a pretty decent attaks! and plus, water is one of my fave type of pokemon!

Swampert isn´t really my favorite. The attacks of Swampert are powerful when it´s at level 100. I checked in a Pokemon Official Strategy Guide once. It showed details on Swampert´s attack power and all. Torchic is the strongest starter in Ruby/Sapphire but it depends on what you think.

I don't like the fire starters too much. They're ok, but they're too overrated, and everyone has to go around acting like they're the greatest things in the world. It's like when Charizard loses, people act like the opponent cheated. There can be stronger pokemon than Charizard you know. -_-

Squirtle is pretty cool. And it's cute too.

I don't really like Bulby. I like Chikorita, I don't like Bayleef, but I love Meganium. Bayleef... for some reason I find Bayleef kinda retarded.

I never started off with Treecko, but the anime one is ok. I really like Mudkip. It seems unusual, and I just like that for some reason.

So I guess my vote goes to... the Mudkip family.

My favorite starters in order: cyndaquil, charmander, torchic, totodile, squirtle, mudkip (I like bulbasaur and chicorita equally) and treeko last.
