yah, you don't need it for any of the games, it just helps, ok, so mabey you do need it for Y/R/B/FR/LG but I think that's all X3

You don't need it in RS, but you do in FRLG, otherwise you couldn't go from Cerulean to Rock Tunnel.

You don't need it for RSE, but you do need it for all the other games. I think the developers must have left out the part where you need to use Cut to get to a tunnel/Gym/whatever. XD

You actually can beat FR/LG without owning the HM but you'll have to trade for a pokemon with the learned attack.

O.o;; It isn't that necessary to get CUT unless you need special items. And, I could go about in RS without Flash, and tour Rock Tunnel blinded in FRLG.

In Red, I never got flash and made it through Rock Tunnel. It was hard.

Well, you only need Cut to get the items, so chances are that the majority of people will haev gotten through the game without the "essential" HM Cut. When I got thorugh I thought it'd be a bit weird since in the other games, Cut was essential. Game Freak'll probably put something in the next game. ^_^

I think many people class completing the game as just Elite Four and possibly Rayquaza. To completely complete the game you will need Cut to get all the secret items around Hoenn, and in the Trick House.

technicly finishing the game would mean that you complete 100% which means that you have to beat the elite 4 fill ur pokedex ect. remember completion is 100%

In Red I used to NEVER get Flash, as I always just done it in the dark.

You can go through RSE without Flash to.

really...i would think whirlpool is. of course it was essential. cut is only weak because you get it in the very beginning of the game, when 50 power with 30 PP is really good

Well yeah, you technically dont need Cut to beat the game, but if you want extra items and such you need it. Its not such a big deal tho, why not get >>; ...just teach it to a HM slave and take the slave out from time to time when you need to use Cut...thats what i do XD Poor Zigzagoon :>

yeah i dont have cut and i completed it, id say the best hm is surf. when mudkip/marshtomp/swampert learns muddy water, its best to use surf.

power: muddy water 85, surf 95.
accuracy: muddy water 75, surf 100.
pp: muddy water 10, surf 15.
