In the games every gym has a few puzzles and trainers you have to get through in order to reach the gym leader and claim your badge. Some of these are boring a nd tedious while others are actually inejoyable. But what if they added these to the anime?

I think they tried it out with Leanora's gym with the book lever. It seemed to work well enough but if they were to add something like Elesa's rollar coaster I think it would seem weird but would defintly be funny to see Ash's expression. If they were to add puzzles in they would probably have to change them so they aren't quite as rediculous (Flying through the air via cannon) and so the gym's aren't insanely huge.

I think it would work some times but not with all gyms. It would be funny seeing how Ash and co tried to solve the puzzles butit would get preetty boring iwth out the riduclously huge and complex puzzles of the game. and seeing Ash fight thourgh 5+ trainers would get boring to.

I think it would waste too much time myself. I like many others want to get to the battle, so going around dealing with puzzles would make me impatient cause I want to see the battle. If they do it in like one gym per region that is fine but not in everyone of them. Like I remember Koga gym had a puzzle of sorts dealing with Voltorbs. But his battle vs. Ash seemed to go by too quick since most of the episode already elapsed.

The anime version of the Mauville Gym also had a puzzle in it, which had many traps set in it, including some Raikou robots (it's different from finding the right switches in the video game version).

There shouldn't be many puzzles, unless it's a simple puzzle where it doesn't require Ash to use his brain. Or what's left of it. I think part of the challenge of a gym is actually getting there, surviving in the wilderness and fending off Pokemon. Walking is a challenge, especially long distances.
