ID abuse is the hardest form of RNG I believe. I'm not so sure though. =/
Here's a guide (http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3526684&postcount=4). I copied it straight from smogon. It's a bit outdated, but you can always ask questions when you need help. :]


How to abuse your ID/SID

Let us take this for example:

A normal delay for HG can lie between 5000 und 5700. for me it's easy to hit 5730 (I don't know why.xD)

If you abused succesfully, you will have a Shiny Spread on the PID you used.
Of course you can also use the Seed PokeRNG gives you. In the example case it would be: D2140289

Two Stage Timer

While RNGing for different stuff I realized how much it sucks that the only ms reliable timers are useable on computer only. Well here it is, a simple ms reading two stage timer in Javascript.

I tested this on my Sony Ericsson K850i and on
some other phones it works just nice. Enjoy!

Question for you or anyone else....
Is any game easier than another to RNG a vanity ID? I think I am going to rebuy a gen IV game soon, and plan to pick of Black soon. I just can't bring myself to restart one (especially HG/SS both of which I started on the first day, and both of which I don't want to lose Pokewalker progress in). I plan to buy Black at Target for the dreamworld Lucario code) but if one of the Gen IV games is easier to abuse the ID on that will effect my choice a tad.

I just did my first ID abuse!

Trainer name: Rush ID: 02112 [I thought about an extra "1" in the middle so I wouldn't be stuck with the zero on the front and it would look nice as a palindrome, but decided this looked better this way... 2112 Whoo Hoo!].

It was so much easier than I anticipated. I was so worried this was going to be confusing and time consuming, but once I figured out the parameters of my game, I only had to reset about five times.[Although that was first about a dozen times with my DS set to the wrong year first... LOL I'm choosing to not count those resets]

Thanks! and I wasn't abusing for any specific spread, purely a vanity ID[may do so on my next ID abuse though... ].

Rush is a band I like... and their most well known album is "2112" [the title song "2112" is about 20 minutes long, it's epic]. I thought trainer name and ID being RUSH & 2112 was a good homage to the epicness that I feel any journey in a Pokemon game is.

Hey Mac, I was running the outdated 8.3 or so, I must have grabbed it straight from the Smogon thread and didn't even check for an update. I just now tried running 9.95, however, since I'm on a Macbook, for some reason Mono, the program used to run the old RNGreporter 8.3 is not allowing me to run the 9.95. I'll try downloading the patch before 9.95 and see if I can get this working.

Edit: Hold on, I just found PPRNG 1.9 for macbook, let me try working with this and see what I can get.

I fill in everything right, and I dont select a specific gender. But when I generate a seed, all of my results need Cute Charm and I read somewhere else that if I dont have a Cute Charm lead then it wont be shiny. Is that true, or can I do it without a Cute Charm lead?

whatever the required lead the RNG reporter gives you, you will need it or you will not be able to hit your seed.

@XanderO: One can obtain particular Trainer ID numbers, IVs, shininess, etc through abusing the game's RNG (Random Number Generator). There's a basic guide for Black White RNG abuse here (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=6990046&postcount=3). No Pokemon are created. Just a computer program is downloaded and if one does certain tasks in game, like walking or listening to a Chatot, one encounters good Pokemon. Greg0915 has demonstrated expertise and knowledge of RNG abuse to me personally, so I know he's getting his Pokemon legitimately.

Here's what I did lately. I think I'm slow at this all but if I bundle them all together, I feel like I am making good progress.. XD;;

Hmm. I'd rather do pokemon for pokemon. I've done enough RNG abuses that someone will find some pokemon of mine to love and appreciate. Sometimes I get something really cool in return (shout out to the RNG regulars, duh). I only prefer BPs for others if I want to get that pokemon too. I don't want too many pokemon of my ot (I don't competitively battle much). I'm also reluctant to do a shiny BP myself if I don't like the shiny color. I pick my shiny RNGs pretty wisely. I'm still stuck in my shiny hunter mode grumble grumble.

! Either way, I'm getting less active in both trading and projects. :[

I have a question: I need to advance in SoulSilver which involves encountering Lugia, but I do not wish to capture it just yet. If I knock it out, when it regenerates and I reencounter it, will it be the same Lugia, or could I RNG then?

It won't be the same Lugia, unless by some miracle you hit the same seed when you first encountered it. Anyways, you can RNG Lugia later on in the game if you knock it out and defeat the E4.

Battle 1: Won 4-0
Managed to OHKO 2 of his pokemon early on so it was already game.

Battle 2: Lost 0-1
It was Politoad at 1/4 health and Ludicolo at 2/3 health vs. a full health Garchomp. He used Protect the turn I used 2 Ice Beams. Then he used Earthquake, taking out the 'toad. I did hit him with 1 beam, but it held Yache? berry and so I took off a bit over half, which was useless at that point. He outsped the Ludi and won. :(

Battle 3: Won 2-0
Opponent used Speed Boost Blaziken. I thought it was hacked but talking to a few Smogonites, seems it's possibly legit. Oh well. I threw out Staraptor and Zapdos. U-turned Staraptor straight off and sent Politoad in right as Blaziken used Flare Blitz. He kept using Blitz so I guess it was choiced. Welp, he lost.

Battle 4: Lost 0-3
Rain team vs. Hail team. We pretty much kept our weather setters out of the starting ranks in anticipation to the opponent's weather. I lost.

Battle 5: Won 2-0
I don't remember this match. I think it was a trick room match? Dragonite uses Extremespeed to the win!

Battle 6: Won 3-0
Don't remember this one either!

Battle 7: Won 1-0
Another rain vs. hail team. I actually have the video for this one recorded. It's 17-11901-22547 on the GTS.

End result: 5-2 win-loss ratio. Placed 30th in Pink Flight, unknown overall (I'm identified under 2 PIDs and still waiting on Pokemon staff to correct it)

Final notes: I ended up never using Toxicroak. Unfortunately, the championship was fairly fast paced and so much damage was done at a time that Toxicroak would have been crushed fairly easily. And considering I saw 2 Cresselia and 2 Bronzong, it was just as well. Zapdos and Staraptor were both MVPs. Zapdos took a lot of hits and just laughed at most of them while Staraptor got 2 Intimidates in in most of the matches. The bugger actually Intimidated a Tyranitar to the point where its Stone Edge did only about 1/5 of the damage to Zapdos. I see why gems are so popular, but in the battles where I saw them, the gems were pretty much doing overkill to moves that would have KO'd anyways. All in all, it was fun and anyone who has the opportunity to should go. Over 700 competitors were there, and over 300 were placed in the Masters age group. Thanks goes to Blade and Twisted for throwing together 4 pokemon for me. And I think, Mia, because the Toxicroak is hers? Oh, and to the guy who bought me a free lunch. :D

Folks, if anyone tells you that the only good pokemon are RNG'd, it ain't true. At least, not completely. As long as your team is built right, IVs in the right places, trained right and you're familiar with them, you'll do well enough. Admittedly, 4 of my pokemon are RNG'd, but my two stars (Staraptor and Ludicolo) aren't. If you're curious of their IVs, go ahead and look at my shop and scroll down to them. (But don't post, please.) There's no way in hell I'd be able to use any of the new pokemon since my experience with them in competitive battles are nil.

Oh gosh, I have to admit, there were some very annoying things though. Masters registration was supposed to be at like...10:30 and battles start at 11:30 or something like that. Rumor was that the organizers didn't expect so MANY people to show up. The line for registration actually went down the sidewalk. It was so bad that registration for masters didn't start til like 10:30 and battles started at around 3:20, because of the line and the fact that the Juniors and Seniors had to finish their tourneys before we could start.

Poor thing. :( It's not our goal to make you work harder, lol. If you identify 20 already-caught species you have to offer (hint: offering all starters gives you an easy 15), you can then trade your mystery eggs within a shop.

Yeah, that rule isn't meant to screw with people. It's just meant to cut down on the sheer number of threads that would otherwise pop up that can easily be posted on the Quick Trade thread. Once upon a time, many a year ago, one could not see a day where at least 10 threads would be locked a day. And the number of people reporting threads that were of people posting to obtain or trade like 5 pokemon... yeah, glad I'm not a mod.

The Global trade is aweful! everyone only wants to trade legendaries and or shinies.
and the ones that dont have those expect to get legendaries and such for basic fifth generation pokemon!
Its quite awkward really the way the trade works this way.
would be so much better if on the GTS room were you search you can search for people who are looking for the pokemon your offering. and see what they are willing to trade for it.
instead of people asking the ridiculous.

Don't use GTS. It's awful and you're more than likely going to get a hacked Pokemon tbh.

Besides obvious hacks, it's not easy to tell if it is hacked just on the GTS. Reshiram, Zekrom, and Victini can NOT be shiny.

Honestly, if you want good trades, be glad you're at a place like this. We have a lot of reputable traders here that usually have what you might be looking for. And yeah, Mac's right. Those three cannot be shiny. Arceus is in that group too, and I think Celebi? But I'm not sure.

Well, RNG abuse to be technical. It's kind of...playing to the game's random number generator. Cause it's not really random at all, and can be predicted. Something like that. I think there's an explanation in the RNG/CSS guide right in the Trade Corner. Read it if you're interested! Or check out the RNG club in Pokemon Clubs.

Hello all! Learning to RNG over here. I have a DSI and am trying to RNG on my Pokemon Black (english version).

For my first attempt, I'm trying to get a Modest shiny Deino with 31 IVS in HP, SpAtk and Spd. I tried for all 31 in all slots but couldn't find any results. Here's some screenshots:

I followed TwilightBlade's directions in the help thread, and this is what I came up with. Any suggestions? Am I doing it right so far? Obviously you can't see the DS part of it, but that's the RNG reporter's findings. is there a way to expand the search so I can find one with all 31 IV's? I narrowed it down to encounter slots 3, 7, 9, and 11 because that's where Deino appears, but I'm not sure what other ones to look at. What would happen if I set max frames (in the time finder) higher? What exactly does that do?

So far, it looks right to me.
For Max frame, if you set it at a higher value, it may require to have a certain number of pokemon in your party and walk 128 steps which will advance your PIDRNG frame a lot. For example if I get a frame of 4, I will need only 3 pokemon in my party, walk 128 steps to get the IV I want and it advances my frame to 300 or more. By setting Min/Max frame to 1, you do not have to worry about the IVs of pokemon, all you care is to use chatters to advance the PIDRNG. Hope it helps :)

It might pass them, it'd be interesting to see what happened. It's like RNGing your IDs to match an events... as far as I know, only the TID needs to match to be able to rename.

Weird fact: I traded between my French Ruby and English Emerald. I pal parked an English Pokemon to my French SS, obtained via aforementioned trade and Aipom kept it's name after evolution O.O" It's still an AIPOM instead of CAPIDEXTRE. Weird stuff, because 4th Gen pokemon change their names between languages (My Torchic is now Galifeu - French for Combusken, my Gobou is now Marshtomp, same with JP mons).

Sadly, I think I have to retire from trading over Wi-Fi. I've been on lately, but not on the Trade Thread, considering I can't do anything. Some time ago, my mom changed our Wi-Fi's security to WPA so now I can't do anything regarding using Wi-Fi, since I have a Nintendo DS lite and I'm currently waiting for better games so I can get a 3DS. They aren't. People had problems with hitting their seeds, so they thought they're shiny blocked but they're not.
The only catchable shiny blocked Pokemon is Zekrom/Reshiram.

I've collected most of the dex and then some more... multiple times? Haha. I like trading Pokemon with friends. I like having a box+ full of special Pokemon (I always have boxes named favorite, lovely, or sweet!). If I'm offered Pokemon with an unfamiliar OT (or the Pokemon is a duplicate or uninteresting to me in general), I likely don't feel like trading...

This makes me just start giving away Pokemon to deserving people (who have manners). Of course, I can't deal with this with timezones and slowbro posts. Just get on the chatroom and I may be in the giving mood, duh.

(In other words, does my cartridge retain my trainer ID after a restarted save file, or is a new Trainer ID created when I do that?)

Also, if I were to use pokecheck.org to obtain other pokemon that I did NOT catch myself, and were uploaded by other players, is there a simple way to ensure that I'm getting real legal pokemon, and not pokemon created by hacking?

The best you can do with Pokecheck is to check if the Pokemon are legal by using the legality analysis. And each time you start a new game, a new trainer ID is create so Pokemon with your previous trainer ID will be treated as non-native Pokemon.

Odd question for a moderator or someone knowledgeable perhaps.

I have a goal of completing my entire Black Pokédex with every single Pokémon from every generation, thus giving me every Pokémon for breeding. I already have all 143 breedable Pokémon registered (or will once I level up the recently traded to me starters) in the Unova region, and have undertaken this new challenge in light of the accomplishment. As a result, someday, I will have every single breedable Pokémon in the game.

When I go to start a Trade Shop someday, do I have to come out and list 20 specific Pokémon for trade? Or would it be sufficient to say I can breed any Pokémon that anyone could want, or provide any Egg move that a bred Pokémon can learn...perhaps list a few samples to start off the store...or do I have to actually have 20 available to be traded at that point before a thread can be started?

I will be trying to carry this into Black 2/White 2 as well since trading can take place back and forth between the originals and sequels. If nothing else, I may keep B/W as my Trade Shop and get some help moving anything not in Unova's sequel over to there. Eventually. :) Maybe I'll just buy White and use a second DS.

If a mod. could answer this Trade Shop thread question, I'd appreciate it. :)

After you type out these 20, you can go ahead and mention that you can breed just about anything else if asked. These 20 species don't necessarily need to be "ready to go" - you can definitely list the species and make the babies on request. The more species you list, the more customers you'll attract. If you list out level, nature, attacks, etc, it also helps customers.

We wouldn't approve a shop if the owner ONLY stated "I can breed any Pokémon that anyone could want." It looks like no effort was put in the shop. It really makes us believe that the owner is trading hacked Pokemon or isn't going to stick around for more than one day.

Hmm, let's see...here for more than one day, check...have all of the items that guarantee an EV stat passdown, check...no hacking, check...yup, I think that's covered. :) It would be hard for me to pick just 20 to list, as I could literally breed everything once I meet my goal (I'm even getting two Gen. III games to help fill in the gaps including some legendaries, I just have to figure out how to get Jirachi and Deoxys to fully cover the generation, I believe, and already have Mew and Gen. II's Celebi). Since it might make more sense, I would probably instead list everything that's breedable.

That will take a while. LMAO

It's safe to save and turn off the game. I'd rather spread out my hatching rather than do sprees in one sitting anyways, haha. You're relying on luck, so you need lots of patience to hatch that shiny.

If you want to try a more successful method at obtaining shinies, try RNG abuse.

You have to set the wifi settings for your game, first of all. The setup should be on the same screen as the continue game button. You also need a pal pad and your friend code. FCs are pretty much your address, you give it to people, people plug it in, you add their FC, you can trade with each other. The pokemon center is where you'll be doing all your trading.

First you need to configure your wi-fi settings. You do that on the main menu of your Pokémon game. After that, you go up stairs to the pokecenter and talk to the npc in the center for HGSSBWB2W2.

Don't forget to exchange friend codes (in the pal pad). :)

1. Trade only Pokémon for Pokémon. You may not trade Pokémon for money, merchandise, video games, trading cards, collectibles, Wiipoints, Neopet points, etc. Keep trading within the actual Pokémon games.

2. On Action Replay Codes... If you use an Action Replay to maintain your shop, be sure to list which codes you use (e.g. cloning, fast egg hatching, max items). Please do not exchange codes on the forum.
The following are not considered hacked and are allowed to be traded here if you indicate what you did:
— Cloned Pokémon
— Pokémon hatched by Fast Egg Hatch code
— Pokémon caught by 100% Capture Rate code
— Pokémon raised with boosted Experience points code
— Pokémon raised with infinite Rare Candy, vitamins, EV wings codes
— Pokémon legitimately obtained but with aid of flashcart/emulator (including backing up save files)

Regarding giveaways...
