Everyone is getting crazy reputations when they don't deserve it!
You know why? Because they ASKED for it!
Isn't that dumb?
I think we should get rid of reputaion; everyone is abusing it.

No, that would be like a crime!
Serebii Forums disabled reputation a long time ago!

What does IM stand for? Some people DO deserve it, but they get much. And others ask. Asking's a crime. So, I think we should take away some reps, and make the community a little equal. Or give the little guys some reps because they look like midgets compared to everyone else..

And you're naive to think it will. Normaly: WE can't give random people rep, it may be just a block but some people actually give rep the way it should be given. IM means instant message.

IM is instant messaging..like MSN or AIM...and what do you mean by.."little guys"..?

I meant, the guys who have less rep blogs. Rep isn't something so important that we have to d that. Really it is NOT an important aspect of PC and it doesn't need to be brought up like this -.-; It will stay

You don't get it, do you? Reputation doesn't matter. You can have 10,000 rep points, it doesn't change anything. And don't bash UN either, it's called jealousy.
Oh, and please don't compare PC to SPPf, that's just plain low. You'll just have to live with rep abuse like the rest of us do.
P.S. I know my rep is high, but I didn't ask for it. I'll turn it off if it bothers you so much.

Look, I'm quite popular and look how much I have compared to my friends!
Do you hear me complaining? No. Reputation is just a reward that doesn't really mean much. Sure people give it away for no particular reason, but that's just them.
If you really hate the fact you've got less than other people, just disable to rep and ignore others.

So having little or no reputation makes you less of a member? I wouldn't think so. It's been pointed out clearly reputation doesn't matter. Get over it and grow up.

Yup. Some members actually use it maturely, so they can care all they like about it. We don't ask anyway except for n00bish members because they're against the signature rules:
Thou shalt not displayeth in thine signature any wording begging, requesting, or bribing/blackmailing members of PC into repping you.
That was a paraphrase. XD ^_~

Now that this is sorted, should it be closed? And really. Having 7 blocks of bad rep and having 12 blocks of good rep doesn't mean anything. A lot of people don't even treat rep properly. Some people just give bad rep to someone because they don't like them. That is all. Ugh... I kinda figured that you started this thread because you had to blocks of bad rep. Turn it off if it bothers you so much. Ugh...

Maybe you should make a system like Dgemu has,or like any other forum, the more posts the more rep points...

*reply to previous post* I support this idea. This would be the 'FAIR' thing to be done.

We had this kind of discussion a month or two back ^^;
Basically, rep is somtimes abused both good (by friend circle repping) and bad (by giving random bad rep), but your rep level really honestly does not matter.
My reason for liking rep is to see the nice comments people leave, not to see how much i have in total.
A person's rep doesn't reflect who they are -your posts do that.
For the people who feel the need to abuse, fine they can go ahead and do that, because people aren't judged on their rep and they're gaining nothing from it. It's just pointless and they themselves know it.
If you are receiving continual bad rep then PM one of the higher staff and we will look into it (to see whether it is given by one member, in which case they will have their ability to give rep disabled).
If rep does bother you to that great an extent, you can just turn it off.

Claire made it so right. All you need to Know is there ^
As for me i think Reputation is a nice adition, i think members are in the right to have some kind of compliment/merit for doing honorable, quality, funny posts.
Also Rep comments are also good they make you note where are you doing great, what people like about you, and who said it.
Bad Reputation is also right , i think . Its a way to really call a members attention about something , although i dont like them when they dont put a significant reason from it.
IMO rep should be given with a reason because if not, you go wondering what was that good , or what was that bad . But if a reason is empty then you dont know what to think, since people have different points of view.

As Claire has stated now and many many times before: rep really doesn't make you a more liked or better member of PC. =\ All it really means is people either agree or disagree with your posts. I like giving rep to people who I feel deserve it for one reason or another. No one should abuse it, but if they do then so be it. It's their insane problem, really.
Now as for me...well, I too like the comments people leave, but the rep blocks are pretty to look at. XD
