LOVING the entries so far, everyone! Gonna be so difficult picking one. What did I sign up for?! xD;

Reminder: You have 24 more hours to post your entry for the challenge. Also, I guess (this summer) we are working on a more user friendly gen 4, maybe gen 3, rng guide for PC. Anyone interested in helping me orrrr in reading it, I guess? :P

Can I be guinea pig too? I need to learn how to Gen 4 RNG.

I wish to be a guinea pig too! I was actually gonna beg you guys to teach me 4th and 3rd gen RNGing this weekend. xD I loved your gen V guide, I used it to learn wild encounter RNGing the other day actually because I found Smogon too confusing.

I can help in writing cuz I know all three Generations :3

The thing about gen 3 guide is that... I don't know how to do shiny eggs yet. I'm veryyyy inexperienced. I do know gen 4 a bit. I will need helpers in drafting it too! :)

And I know shiny eggs as well, got my shiny egg, now working on IVs for it. I love Gastly so much :3
And, unfortunately, I need 31/x/0/31/31/31 Hasty. Wish me luck with getting those IVs ;)

ps. Shiny eggs are absolutely wicked. It takes some time and it's not easy at all. :/

Sweet. You're mah guinea pig?! :)

You can get your SID of your gen 3 file by palparking the Pokemon to gen 4. Put it up on Pokecheck and get its SID... However, if you want good wild shinies, you will have to SID abuse.

im working on a gen 4 RNG guide for people who use flash carts and not figured it out yet (theres no guides to it anywhere) iv got tid/sid abuse section down for it and im working on the rest so you could link both guides once there both completed :) (my flascart guide will have pics too with rng reporter 9.95)

I have a feeling I will be heavily involved in writing a new RNG guide for Gen 4 with Blade, so just go ahead and ask me to do it anyway xD Great entries every one and I'm glad to see so many newer members posting and participating. By the way, thanks all for getting to 500 posts! Olli just gave me the Natural Born Leader emblem :D woot!

My sister wanted me to trade her a Japanese Ditto so she could Masuda for a shiny Snorunt, but I decided RNGing her one would be better. I RNG'd a shiny Torchic for her in gen IV, but now that I can do pretty good eggs in gen V, I figured this would be a much better present. Here's to hoping she likes it! I'll trade it to her without her knowing and then be like "WHOA! When did you get this Snorunt?" lol I'll also trade it holding a Dawn Stone, since idk if she has one.

I kinda wanna do some abuses on my Japanese White, but I need a flawless Ditto and I need to register that file on Pokecheck, but I won't be able to search for Patrat on GTS because...idk Japanese haha. So idk, I might just stick with Black for RNG for the most part. :( Plus I'd wanna be able to clone my stuff on White, and if I can't register my file, can't do it. I should just go and play Zelda now lol.

The reason I chose the nickname which means Smile the heart is luv and disc if anyone was wondering. The reason I chose Luvdisc is because it is to show happiness, which is what Blade brings to a lot of us here at PC whether it be modding, helping with RNG, or just that amazing Blade that we all know! The smile is so she remembers to keep smiling on the worst days and it's gold color is to represent happiness as well. Luvdisc also represents my support to a great friend who supported me at the VGC's and with other things as well. Luvdisc may not be physically strong, but with it's trainer it's emotionally strong and this one is smiling! Happy Birthday Blade :) I hope it was a great day!

I love how many members creatively described how their entry Pokemon could cheer me up. Even so, Sydian's entry stood out to me. The 4 moves relate to my position at PC and my personality. I personally like the move Inferno. The HP Rock, fire attacks, and dive ball relate to Korra's earthbending, firebending, and waterbending. The nickname is an obvious reference to one of my favorite fandoms. Syd put a lot of love and work into it, so congrats!

A few special mentions go to:
Gonzo's attention to detail (When did you catch that I am hasty natured? It's true though, I did get Skitty in PMD haha. Edit: ohhh you. it's my nature here, LOL /shifts in seat >:C).
Mac for making me smile when he asked me to guess it. I almost typed Mareep but I deleted it because I didn't think she would best match a dive ball, haha!
TheGr8 for subtlety asking me my fav location and hatching Luvdisc in Black City. xD;
CrazyMrHans for mentioning 19 more candles, haha!
Everyone for the overdose of dive balls and one lovely Absol in a premier ball, I can forgive that. :)

Have a look at the next challenge:

Fossil Descendant challenge!
Humans evolved from apes, ancient Pokemon evolved as well! Pick your favourite Pokemon from the past and imagine that time turned to another species. Is Archeops as frightening as in the past or is it just a tiny pathetic birdy? Now, pick your favourite fossil and RNG descendant of the chosen Pokemon.

This challenge is based purely on your creativity and ability to give good reasons. Good luck!

I'm a little confused with the challenge. Do we RNG a fossil Pokemon, something that could have descended from a fossil Pokemon, or the fossil and a descendant?

You RNG something that could have possibly descended from a fossil Pokemon. In your description, you say which fossil you think it could have descended from.

Okay well I RNGed an Anorith for the challenge, but then after re-reading it I realised that Anorith is exactly what the challenge wasn't asking for. Which I'm very annoyed about since this was a really good breed for me! It's pretty much a perfect breed (shiny, flawless) and it was going to be the best entry possible to celebrate our new TC mod, but I was too stupid to read the challenge. xD I even went to the trouble of chain breeding for Iron Defense and Rapid Spin on a Shelder D: But anyway yeah, here's my darling Anorith that I now hate:

Since I've had a lot of questions about the current challenge, I fixed the wording a bit in the first post. Here it is if you cba (Ozzy):

Challenge #13: Fossil Descendant challenge!
Humans evolved from apes, ancient Pokemon evolved as well! Pick your favourite Pokemon from the past and imagine that it evolved into another Pokemon species. Is Archeops as frightening as in the past or is it just a tiny pathetic birdy? Now, pick your favourite fossil Pokemon and RNG a possible descendant of it.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/451.gifhttp://www.pokecheck.org/i/notshiny.png #451 Skorupi (http://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=1187296) ♂ Lv.10 http://www.pokecheck.org/i/itm/576.png

Impish - Keen Eye
IVs:31/31/31/31/31/31 70http://www.pokecheck.org/i/typ/2/17.png
Bite - Poison Sting - Agility - Knock Off

I did Skorupi for this one. It was the first thing that came to mind when I thought of a descendant for Anorith.

For centuries these shrimp-like creatures were fished for trainer consumption. Being semi-intelligent Pokemon they noticed that Anoriths who were poisoned by their territorial enemies, the Tentacools, were thrown back in the water to continue their lives. The hunted shrimp, not fearing toxins, cut a deal with the Tentacools; that if they poisoned their people making them unworthy of consumption, they would leave the jellyfishes favorite part of the ocean to do their jellyfish things. The deal was made, and everyone lived happily ever after. Some Anoriths chose to take to the lands, becoming what we know as Skorupi. Retaining their heavy shell armor, their pincers and claws, yet using their new prowess over poison to overcome humanoid and grassy foes. The oldest Drapions have a dark, ulterior motive to seek revenge upon those who once hunted them.

I have no idea what I'm doing or if I did it right loooool.

Here's my entry to the challenge! Spinarak from Kabuto. It may not seem obvious at first but bear with me.

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon/167.png
Spinarak ♂
Insomnia|Adamant
31|31|31|23|31|31
String Shot|Toxic Spikes|Pursuit|Night Slash

So I was looking at Fossil pokemon and what animals they represent in real life. Kabuto was one of the ones I looked at. So, Kabuto is based off of a horseshoe crab. Horseshoe Crabs are pretty old creatures and have been around for a long time. (Here comes the part I love) So I took a look at the biological side of Horseshoe Crabs. Horseshoe Crabs belong to the Subphylum Chelicerata, which is divided into three Classes. The ones I'm going to look at today are Merostomata and Arachnida. Merostomata is the class that Horseshoe Crabs belong to, and Arachnids we all know what those are. This means that these crabs and spiders are related. If two Classes stem from a same Subphylum, that means that the animals in those Classes had a common ancestor that at one point split into different kinds of animals. If we look at pokemon, Spinarak and Kabuto may have had a common ancestor. (Also, the animal that Anorith is based on is placed in the Phylum Arthropoda of which Chelicerata is a subphylum, so Anorith may also be loosely related to Kabuto and Spinarak)

I hope this makes sense to you guys!

So I decided I wanted to learn how to RNG abuse my Gen V ID/SID and Starter. I looked up some guides on how to RNG abuse your ID/SID and starter on Smogon. The only issue was these guides were for RNG Reporter and since I'm on a Mac, I'm using PPRNG. From what I can tell (have never used RNG Reporter) the two programs are pretty similar, so I was able to translate and use the guide pretty well for PPRNG.

...And I was able to RNG abuse my ID/SID and Starter on my very first try. Pretty excited about that.

I want to do the same thing.. But with my Soulsilver.. Not working out too well considering how different gen5 is compared to gen4. Gen5 is so much easier, and Smogon is really bad at explaining things. I believe I've worked out everything already but what exactly are calibrated seconds and calibrated delay? I can't exactly find information about those two things. Everything else I think I'm 100% fine on. Help please? :x

I agree with the fact that the guides and explanations on Smogon aren't very good. Honestly though, I have no idea what calibrated seconds and calibrated delay are. I've only done Gen V abuse. Haven't even tried to learn Gen IV abuse yet or even look at Gen IV abuse guides.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to help out with that. Wish I could be more of a help.

I chose to RNG a descendant of Omanyte/Omastar for the current challenge. I chose Shellos (or what will later be Gastrodon) as the descendant. According to the Pokédex, the believed reason for Omastar's extinction was because its shell became too large and heavy, which caused it to become slow and it (and Omanyte) eventually died out. Gastrodon's Pokédex entries mention that in ancient times, it had a sturdy shell. In ancient times Omanyte and Omastar were dying out because they were growing slower and slower. In attempt to survive, they taught themselves how to increase their speed by breaking their shells with Shell Smash. For a while, it worked. The Pokémon were able to catch their prey with ease. After a while however, Shell Smash became less and less reliable as the Omanyte and Omastar's prey, Shellder (as mentioned by the Pokédex) picked up on how to use Shell Smash and were able to retreat and fight back against the fossil Pokémon. Because of this, the Omastar and Omanyte with the Shell Armor and Swift Swim abilities died off. The Weak Armor variety managed to hang on, taking the hits the Shellder threw, and with the additional increased speed, successfully hunted them. Over time Omanyte and Omastar's shells became extremely weak and eventually they disappeared all together and they became the Shellos and Gastrodon we know today. Also Omanyte and Omastar's English beta names come from the word "escargot", which is french for snail, and Shellos and Gastrodon are slug Pokémon and imo slugs are just snails without shells.

For the challenge, I decided to do the ultimate troll Pokemon:

http://www.pokecheck.org/i/itm/004.pnghttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/sicon/304.pnghttp://www.pokecheck.org/i/itm/004.png

Aron could have evolved from Shieldon since they are both heavily armored Pokemon, but Aron doesn't have the fossil look to him like Shieldon does. Shieldon looks more like a dinosaur than Aron does. Perhaps, due to the great extinction event, Shieldon went mostly extinct except for the few that were very small (like Aron) and able to hide themselves underground and far away from the event. Since they were deep underground, they stayed rather small like Shieldon but were protected from the event. Time changed them enough away from the dinosaur looking Shieldon into what we know as Aron today.

Yeah, that probably wasn't the best explanation, but I really wanted to do Aron xD

A long time ago, Corphish and Anorith lived together in harmony, mating their young for many years in the peaceful waters surrounding the Orange Islands. They have always had peace and harmony until one fateful day.. When scientists decided to poison the waters, to obtain pokemon for research. The scientists had a lead on rare pokemon in the waters surrounding the Orange Islands, and they planned on obtaining every species of pokemon there. There were a few consortiums of Corphish and Anorith that were in mating time, as the scientist dropped the deadly toxins into the beautiful waters. The toxins had reached to the area where the consortium's were located. The mother Anorith and the father Corphish, had pushed the baby Anorith down far enough to save them, while being poisoned by the deadly toxins. The baby Anorith, went with another consortium that was in a safer location while the Scientist collected the pokemon for research. At this time Corphish and Anorith had no evolutions as the scientists were trying to discover. Afterwards, the baby Anorith was being raised by another mother and father that was close to his own consortium. As they raised him, they noticed he wasn't the same Anorith like their's were. This one started to obtain an orange body, similar to a Corphish. The toxins had gotten to the baby Anorith, and then evolved into something scary. The toxins must have mutated it's genetics, and turned it into a dark-water type pokemon that was later named Crawdaunt. After it so called evolved into what we know as Crawdaunt, it was still being raised by the Anorith family it was with. As the Anorith grew older, they started to teach this unknown creature to them their ways. Moves like Rock Slide and X-Scissor were being learned by Crawdaunt like it's parents would have raised him. This mysterious pokemon also didn't have the same ability as the other Anorith's did. It was able to have stronger attacks that were based on it's Water-Dark typing such as Crunch and Waterfall. Somehow the toxins were able to change it's genetics to harness a move that would raise it's attack and speed, Dragon Dance. It was active when Crawdaunt would be enraged due to what he had witnessed with his parents. This pokemon was about to be number one priority of scientists near the Orange Islands and a breakthrough for pokemon sciences.

As you can see I chose Crawdaunt to evolve from Anorith which Anorith/Armaldo is my favorite fossil. I made up a past story something that I felt would be really interesting and when I saw the challenge it immediately came to me that this is what I wanted to do. Also Consortiums are like groups of crabs if you didn't know that word. I chose Orange Islands because it was one of my favorite memories of Pokemon when I was younger as well. I wish I could have obtained it there but you know. I was feeling really creative to make that story into the evolution, it really took some time and thought. The reasoning for picking each was I felt Anorith was the only fossil that could work for the creativness I was going to, and the only pokemon I could see evolving into Crawdaunt since that reminds me of Armaldo's physicality. I hope you guys enjoyed the story and my entry! :)

Apparently Relicanth hasn't evolved in over 100 million years, I believe it descends from Kabuto. Kabuto fossils were initially located on an island, they came to life when the moon cast a red glow. The island was composed of fossils so as soon as that happened it came apart and the Kabuto sank into the ocean.
Most of them managed to find their way out of the sea but the ones that stayed in those depths eventually turned into fish-like species and then into Relicanth. The red dot relicanth has on the side is said to be a remnant of the Kabuto's red glowing eyes which were connected to the red glow of the moon.

I didn't necessarily pick my favorite fossil. I kind of looked at all of the fossils, and I wanted something a little out of the box. And so I looked more into Archeops, and noticed that it came from the egg group Water 3. How did that happen? It's also more of a reptilian bird, and it's based on the Microraptor and Archaeopteryx. Since birds are the descendants of dinosaurs, I looked more at some Unovan birds and Swanna popped up. Swanna is in Water 1, which leads me to believe Swanna is a descendant of Archeops. It adapted to new waters, which is why it's not in Water 3, but instead Water 1. As for the ability Big Pecks, it shows how the line has improved itself. Defeatist, Archeops' ability, is more of a hindrance. Swanna adapted to where its stats couldn't be lowered, which goes for its other ability Keen Eye as well as what this one has. I named it the French name for Archeops...well, more of the German name. They're the same, but the French name has accents that I obviously couldn't put in when I named her haha.

It was also the first time I RNG'd using synchronize. Now, when I'm RNGing for these stationary legendaries, I'm guessing that I need to exit out of the pokegear 2 frames before my desired frame?

That really is thinking outside of the box! Sydian gave explanation showing natural environmental changes or Pokemon's need rather than polution forcing Pokemon to change, I was thinking of it the same way. Her way of how ability changes was the main selling point! And yeah... I'm a sucker for Ducklett and Swanna :3 (A shout out for my in-game Swanna called Mac) Great job, Sydian!

a young trainer's gently throwing.

The trainer prevails without crowing

I was thinking about spring and growing grass and mowing it and this poem just popped out. So Rotom-M is the greatest representator of spring because everyone starts mowing their grass and tending their garden and I think this will attract lots of Rotoms!

I consider spring as a time of growth, renewal, and birth of new life. April’s rainy season gives new life to May’s flowering plants. I picked Maractus because she has access to Growth and Water Absorb. Maractus also has cute, pink flowers. I taught Maractus other flower-related moves, such as Synthesis, Solarbeam, and Petal Dance. Speaking of dancing, May is the month of music in New Zealand. Maractus can move its body rhythmically to create a maraca-like sound. Also, May is the month of final exams in many countries. As many of our members cram for their finals, I realized that Maractus makes its home in an unpleasant area too. Maractus takes damage from the sandstorm in the desert, which I caught her at on May 1st. I nicknamed her Maia, which is the basis of the name of the month of May. Yes, I chose a cactus to represent my spring. The only spring I know is agonizing over final exams. I've endured many hardships, but these experiences helped me grow and provided me a new life...

Spring brings a few things in mind for me and I think Swablu represents them quite well. In spring, a lot of birdies hatch from their eggs, which is why hatching a adorable little Swablu was very suitable. Swablu's Cloud Nine ability reminds me of how when spring comes and the weather goes from being rainy to being normal and calm before then becoming hot and sunny in summer. Pluck is for all the fruits, vegetables and berries that grow in the spring. Finally, many of Swablu's Pokédex entries mention how it likes things clean and how it will clean its surroundings if they are dirty. Swablu's Emerald Pokédex entry also says that in spring, their flocks move closer to towns. This reminds me of spring cleaning, I can imagine all the wild Swablu flocking into town and helping the residents clean their houses after a long harsh winter. Also it may not be a plant, but SolarBeam has something to do with plants, so yeah.

April Showers Always Bring May Flowers! When I am thinking about spring and May in particular, I think of the sunlight andwonderful flowers, that blossom especially for Mother's day. A pokemon that reminds me that spring and those beautiful flowers is Cherrim and of course because it is the blossom pokemon (: It's two forms are similar to us humans and our reactions to weather. Overcast form, which is it's normal form is when it's gloomy outside, and just hidden away in it's petals like us hiding inside on a bad rainy day but it's second form which is sunshine form, shows happiness and joy that it is sunny out and spring is finally here with the blossoming of Cherrim into it's Sunshine form, which for actual people we are excited about the sun, flowers and being able to go outside just like Cherrim is to the sun. Cherrim's smile reminds me of little kids outside playing in the sun, and finally feeling happy that the sun has come out. The nickname is for the Sunshine, and the joy that Cherrim get's for the sun coming out and being able to blossom into a beautiful flower. Another reason I chose Cherrim was I think of Mother's Day, and I would think Cherrim under the sun would be a really great gift for a mom, I wonder why Dawn never gave her mom a Cherrim! :P

I was really excited to do this one! I actually saw a Cherrim doubles team in a match before VGC with a few of my friends, and I was like oh my god Cherrim so cute! I also really liked Sun form Cherrim back in 4th Gen, I thought it was adorable! :) and good luck to everyone else who entered!

That Cherrim will win now, I can tell...

So a view of BW2's Global Link has been revealed. Hopefully then I'll be able to finally get my Shadow Tag Litwick and Regenerator Foongus.

Also Syd Vaporeon's Japanese name is Showers.

I always thought fireflies are for summer?????

I guess it depends where you live, then. We get loads of them starting in March/April. Especially this year since it's been an abnormally hot and humid winter/spring.

You're lucky then. I don't get them a lot here. :( We used to get them in June and July, but not anymore it seems.

How do you RNG a dw ability? And could someone please explain A little more precisely what to do after step 6 in catching a flawless shiny Pokemon? I know that if the Pokemon doesn't have to be shiny, it'll be much easier to RNG abuse, but what do I do if that's the case?

Ok, I was looking for a seed for Shiny Thundurus, but I've searched more than 25 years and got nothing, unfortunately.
What caught my eye was "April Showers" in the challenge and seeing Thundurus' Storm would match perfectly, but I had to bite it from another side and I did.

How do you RNG a dw ability? And could someone please explain A little more precisely what to do after step 6 in catching a flawless shiny Pokemon? I know that if the Pokemon doesn't have to be shiny, it'll be much easier to RNG abuse, but what do I do if that's the case?

DW ability
setting up: Obtain a female with the Dream World ability. Do not breed her with a Ditto, but instead breed her with a male species in her egg group. For example, breed a female DW Vulpix with a male Smeargle.
In rng reporter, you must select for the program to search DW ability. In the Dream World column, baby spreads that give the offspring the ability will be marked as True, while those spreads that won't give the ability will be marked as False.

rng abusing: the steps in a nutshell (which are essentially the same if you're doing shiny or non-shiny wild)
step 5: First, find a seed with good IVs that doesn't require shininess in Time Finder. Pick something and highlight it blue by clicking your mouse pointer on it. Right click it and select Copy Seed to Clipboard. Also, what you need to gather from this search in the Time Finder window is the seed's Time, Date, and Keypress.
step 6: Minimize Time Finder. Go back to the original main menu. Set it up like step 6 is supposed to be set up (paste your Seed into its little box, specify other boxes to Gen 5 PIDRNG, check the picture (http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/540/93newcaptureshinystep6.png)). Don't click shiny only.
step 7: Click Generate. Scroll down the table and you'll see a bunch of frames that control PID RNG (i.e. controls nature, ability, gender, and what species you will find).

While in the main menu of RNG Reporter, look at the tab at the top saying 5th Gen Tools. Be sure to open the Black or White (depending on your game) Encounter Tables.
http://www.eggmove.com/encounterblack.html
http://www.eggmove.com/encounterwhite.html

For example, you want to RNG abuse a Duosion in route 9. You will need to scroll through your generated table to find something with encounter slot numbers: 0, 7, 9, or 11.

Let's say you find one with a good nature and will generate a Duosion at frame 65. It has calculated your starting frame to be, say, 50.

Target frame 65 - starting frame 50 = 15 chatter advances.

On route 9, the trainers there will not shift the starting PID frame. In many locations, the frame will slightly shift forward (meaning that 50 could be 51, and you must do 14 chatter advances to hit your target frame). These trainers may prove to be frustrating if you can't get a shiny or a certain nature/species. Trainers randomly advance the PID RNG.

Hope anything helps.

This wonderful flower Pokemon represents every aspect of Spring to me... showcasing a bloom, having the ability Flower Gift, being nicknamed Sunshine, and it's just plain adorable and boy do I love adorable things. It also is a nice HP Rock with some good moves and all, so overall a nice abuse as well as nice reasoning.

There were some very close runner-ups... Rednael and TwilightBlade. Rednael wrote an amazing poem that was beautiful and he set the bar very high for this challenge. Blade met the raised expectations with her lovely Maractus and I just am so glad that so many people are enjoying the challenges so much by posting such lovely entries.

Congratulations to TheGr8 for winning this challenge!

I mean, I like to dance, and so does Ludiolo...if I dance with him, no one will look at me! Just the fact I have a Pokemon. Cause I'm awesome. The moves match too. I Astonish and Attract people with my sexy Rain and Teeter Dances. ;) So does Ludi. I didn't evolve it since I didn't feel like EVing it and getting rid of those moves haha. Swagger / Rain Dance / Attract / Double Team | Keen Eye
Lax | 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 | Hatched at Undella Bay

By far Pidgeot is the Pokémon I would like to party with the most. First of all, he is a total bro, with the long, blonde flow (purposely shiny for this reason). Hatched in Undella Bay, because there is always a party at the beach. The nature is Lax, lax because a relaxed friend is always the best; no arguments, just a good time. The ability Keen Eye is because it was specifically not supposed to have Tangled Feet. He always walks with confidence and knows where he is going. It also knows Swagger, because anyone I want to party with has to have swagger. Rain Dance, because they need to dance up a storm :D LOL. And then Double Team and Attract, because who doesn't want to party with an Attractive man (or woman, but in this case man) that can (Double) Team up with you as a wingman and attract all the las chicas (Spanish due to Cinco de Mayo pride). Pidgeot is "The Dude", the perfect party goer. (By the way, those of you who do not know what movie it is, I am speaking of the Big Lebowski).

Now, at first glance you look at my wonderful Buizel, Tails, and wonder how would anyone want to party with him? Well, first he is absolutely awesome and Sonic's best friend who would do anything for his buddy! He's also ready for a pool or beach party! He's adamant about everyone having a good time and he makes sure everyone's ready for some fun Water Sport(s). If there are any ladies around, he Bulk(s) Up to impress them with his physique. He always has a surfboard on hand to teach everyone how to Surf, as well! Wow, what a nice guy! Don't forget, he also can teach everyone to professionally Dive at the pool! I love to party with Tails... he's got it going on!

Hi everyone!

I just found out about RNG abuse and am still learning about this. So far, I've managed to get flawless zekrom and cobalion and eventually decided to start a new game to get a flawless shiny starter (I suceeded by using ID/SID abuse and finally got my flawless jolly shiney Snivy :) )

I am now trying to get a flawless panpour from the lady in the dreamyard but I still haven't succeeded (she's a moving NPC, which messes up a bit with my beginner skills... lol)

I have been searching for a tutorial explaining how to get your gift pokemon in a place with moving NPC's, but still haven't found anything...

Do you guys have any links/tips/advice that could help me, please?

Thanks to all! I am looking forward to share my accomplishments with you :)

P.s: I'm French, so I apologize if I make a few mistakes when I write my messages...

I decided on Meowth for this challenge almost entirely based on Team Rocket's. And after remembering this song from Pokémon Channel, how could I not pick him. Because of Meowth's obvious singing talent, it seemed an obvious choice to have Round. Double Team would be great because it would allow him to dance and party with everyone! Who wouldn't want to party who can sing, dance, play the guitar and walk on the ceiling. And don't forget, free icecream!

Meowth Meowth Meowth,
This party is so exciting,
It's gonna be the biggest bash of the year!
Meowth Meowth Meowth,
Won't you tell us who you're inviting?
Anyone who's anyone is gonna be here,
Meowth Meowth Meowth,
Oooh...this party's not for fighting,
Ice cream for everyone,
There's nothing to fear!

The only tip I can give you is that to try to hit the x button as fast as you can when you enter the game world so that the lady won't have a chance to move, then do the chatters, exit the menu and talk to her immediately after that(once again, as fast as you can so that she cannot move at all). Hope you can get it ^^

Thanks for the tip, Johnny18 :) That's what I was doing already but I still couldn't hit my seed in the first place...

I just figured what I was doing wrong: in the time finder, i had set the min and max frames on 8 and the encounter type on gift pokemon (because that's what i read on a tutorial: eggs, gift pokemons, and fossils' IV frames start on frame 8). Eventually, I tried setting the min and max IV frames on 1, encounter type as wild pokémon, and it worked!

I just got my flawless timid Panpour from the dreamyard lady :D

I am kinda outdated, but I really love ballroom dance. Hitting the floor and boucing is not the most amusing thing to do, but I really love to dance with somebody. A party without at least ballroom dance is a bad party for me! Lilligant can learn 4 dance moves, three of them by lvl up, so it's obvious I'd chose her as my dance partner. Ability reflects her ability to keep tempo in dance, Hidden Power shows she has a wild side and can even do pogo dance! Her name is my mum's name. A small shout out for the person who seeded in me love to ballroom dance. Also, she's still a great dancer :)

I'm not a big partier, but Scraggy & Scrafty are two Pokémon that I could easily see myself partying with when I did. Mostly just because of their design. Who doesn't like Scrafty's mohawk? This particular Scraggy, MC Edge likes to showcase his skills on the mic at any party he goes to. I also picture Scraggy/Scrafty enjoying the same music that I do. Which would mean, not only could we party, but we could to go the same concerts. Now that would be awesome!

Edit...Just RNG abused Reshiram.

RNG a Pokemon that you find haxy. Either you get additional effects like parahax or confusion with it, or it abuses hax on your Pokemon everytime you battle it. Of course, explain in what way the chosen Pokemon abuses it's luck! Watch out for critical hits while catching your entry!

So this is the next big thing after Jirachi who I can't RNG :( Like Jirachi it has Serene Grace which doubles moves' secondary effects, so air slash gets a 60% chance to flinch, and coupled with Thunder Wave this makes for a very high chance to keep the enemy from attacking! I took a more in-game approach since I don't play competitively. But anyway, I hate this Pokemon. I really do. For one, that cry is annoying. And two, don't ever look for it on Tumblr. The days I liked it were short. When fighting one, it always seems to destroy me. Even with a weaker move like Flame Charge. It always gets crits, it NEVER dies, and did I mention its cry is annoying? Because it is. I know it's Jolly, but I went ahead and taught it Volt Switch because that's annoying as well, no matter what the nature. Oh. And when I used this Pokemon, it sucked. Mine always died and when it went to the E4 for my Hall of Fame Challenge, it made the record as the Pokemon that KO'd nothing and didn't gain a level. It's tied with Garbodor, who likes to hax me in Battle Subway. That was my second choice. So yeah. Annoying ass zebra.

I decided on one of my good favourites, Dunsparce, for this challenge. The other day when I first saw the challenge, I thought about choosing Haxorus xD but then after playing in the Battle Factory in HeartGold, I knew Dunsparce was a clear choice. Unlike some of the others, the hax has been on my side with Dunsparce. I went through all seven trainers of round 2 with only Dunsparce, using the evil combo of Glare to cut the opponents speed, and then Heatbutt and Bite to make them flinch and rage quit to death. It was some of the best fun I've had in a while to battle with. Not to mention when I was catching it earlier, it got 3 boosts from Ancientpower and defeated my Lv100 Volcarona with a critical hit from it.

A battle against it without 3 boosts from that freaking move is... it never happened, actually... Oh, no wait! Once, it had +4 in each stat.

Well, I never use this on my Spiritombs, but I do like this Pokemon for three reasons:
- no weakness,
- great design,
- trolling me.
Yes, I like it haxing me all the time! Kinda masochistic, but if in-game Spiritomb is my pain in the neck, I really don't want to know how huge pain is it in my opponents' necks :D

:( Mac reminded me that the challenge expired in like, 2 hours! I'm like, woah. I forgot, lol. I blame Final Fantasy XIII-2 for being a major distraction. ;^;

I really wanted to abuse Jirachi for this challenge because of Serene Grace. I didn't have time to take on such a project, so I looked at other Serene Grace users... Dunsparce and Togekiss were already abused, sigh.

I thought of another ability that gave me a headache... STATIC. The random paralysis always cripples my in-game team. I can't freaking stand it. Stunfisk uses its powers for evil. Can't it just flop around somewhere else? Stop paralyzing my team and stop giggling like a schoolgirl every time PC crashes. guh.

I named Stunfisk after the goddess in FFXIII-2. Etro + Troll = Etroll. Etro is a major incompetent troll. The goddess does not favor me, ever. :(

It looks like everyone is busy with their school lives and everything, so I guess that's why not many were able to participate in this challenge. The next challenge starts in about 32 minutes so I'll go ahead and announce it now. I'll update the first post tomorrow sometime.

RNG a Motherly Pokemon!
Mother's Day in the US and Canada is this Sunday, the 13th, so go ahead and RNG a Pokemon that you think is or can be motherly! The explanation is what really counts, so go all out and you won't regret it!

Aw poopy, as Mac knows I did actually do the last challenge! I just forgot to post it 'cos work and stuff :( I RNGed an Amoonguss (NON-shiny) since tbh that's the perfect Pokemon to abuse hax. Its effect spore ability combined with its countless status moves and tricky combinations lead to Amoonguss requiring bucket fulls of luck to do well in battle, as well as needing to come up against a Physical opponent to fully utilize its ability. It's also a perfect TR candidate which needs skill and luck in itself. I was also considering Dunsparce for HB flinching or Togekiss for parahax, but I choose Amoonguss in the end. :3 So yeah I doubt it counts for the challenge anymore, but I'll post my beauty anyway. c:

So i was thinking of Motherly pokemon and obviosly Kangaskhan sprang to mind immediately, but I thought to myself: "That's the easiest thing to think of.." So I started looking around and quickly thought of Nidoqueen. Nidoqueen's pokedex entries speak of her defending her children with her life: "This POKéMON is at its strongest when it is defending its young.", "It uses its scaly, rugged body to seal the entrance of its nest and protect its young from predators.", "It will protect the young in its burrow with its life.". Nidoqueen can be either defensive, which means shielding her children from attacks, or be an all out attacker. That last part corresponds well with her Dream World Ability, Sheer Force. She ignores everything else and gives her all to defend her children, risking even her own life. her moves become stronger, but don't have any secondary effects. And even while she's very offensive she also has pretty nice defensive base stats, so she can tank a few hits while all out attacking. That's why I chose this set:

Not only do dogs protect their puppies, but my mom likes dogs! I named this one after my mommy. Arcanine perfectly describes my mom. She's always been protective of me and my sister (not psycho crazy though) and this one is shiny specifically because her hair is blond, haha. And her hair is kinda puffy, like Arcanine's mane so it fits. Flawless IVs because my mom takes forever to get ready to go somewhere and she has to be FLAWLESS and PERFECT. And then Morning Sun because who got me up for school till high school? Mommy. And Flare Blitz and Wild Charge are funny because when my mom runs, it looks funny and me and my sister laugh at her lol. Close Combat is just kinda there. Jolly nature is not only good for Arcanine, but my mommy is always happy!! I think it's her bouncy blonde hair and the fact she likes to wear nice colors. I hatched it in Nuvema around the player's house because that's where mom is. You ca always come home to mom! MOMMY ARCANINE! :)

I'm sorry, but I was out of town and I had issues with Internet connection. I'm also upset that we had so few entries :<

Anyways, the winner is: Vaporeon7's Dunsparce

First of all, it has the unique haxy Serene Grace ability. Moveset suggested by Vappy allows it to abuse it perfectly. I also like that its colour and ball match. But clever explanation was the thing that caught my eye, congrats!

Nidoqueen is the worst choice, IMO. You can't breed Nidoqueen... How an unbreedable pokemon can be a good mother? Not buying it :P

You know what Gonzo? Nidoqueen IS the best choice. You say she can't breed so she's not motherly? Well you don't know what she does for her children do you? Nidorina only breed once in their lives, they lay several eggs and then go around their burrows to find a Moon Stone. Using this moonsone they Evolve into Nidoqueen, so as to better defend her children from harm. She sacrifices her current form, her breeding capabilities, just so that she can defend her babies. That's motherly to me. (Also Nidoqueen was shown to be able to breed in one of the movies and her pokedex entries speak of her children so whatever)

I wanted to show you guys the mon I did for the Mystery Gift! It was sent off to Meganium90!

Refering to dex entries, Kingdra can make whirlpools but it actually can't learn Whirlpool. Its yawns can destroy small ships, but we all know well how "powerful" Yawn is, so whatever.

The ultimate mother Pokemon. I decided to make this Kangaskhan much like my mother. Tough as nails and not taking crap from anyone. Which is why she has such a powerful move set for protecting those she loves. This especially applies to her children. Despite her fearsome appearance and fierce battling style she would never raise a hand to her children in any manner. She isn't afraid to get stern with her children however and the threat of her immense strength is enough to keep them out of trouble. I named her after my mama and she is Level 57 much like my mother is 57 years old. She was a tough one to RNG since she is rare on her route but I love it. <3

Being a mother doesn't mean you will only care for your children. Blissey is an extremely compassionate Pokemon by nature. . If she encounter a sick Pokémon, she will attempt to nurse the injured Pokémon back to health. "Blissey's fluffy fur allows her to sense feelings of sadness. Upon sensing any sadness, this Pokémon will race to the source of the sadness, no matter the distance, and share her egg of happiness that instantly makes a person smile". As her pokedex entry says. This Pokemon will never fail to show her tender loving care to everyone.

Nidoqueen was actually my first choice for the challenge, but it was already done, plus I wanted to base mine off my mother instead. But the reason I wanted to do Nidoqueen is because every Mother's Day (except this one lol) I go to my mimi's church and the pastor always has a touching ceremony. He puts red roses in a vase for mothers, then white roses for mothers that have passed, and then pink roses for those that want to be mothers, but cannot (being infertile, etc). And I think the actual want and desire to be a mother is one of the most motherly things of all. So even though Nidoqueen and Nidorina can't breed, they're the beautiful pink roses of motherhood. :)

For my Mother's Day challenged I RNGed an Alomomola because it is the Caring Pokémon, just like my and many other mothers, not to mention "Alomomola". I named her after my mother. She has a careful nature, because I think my mother is a very careful woman. She has Healer as her ability because my mum has nursed me back to health many times in the past. That is also why she knows Heal Pulse. She knows Helping Hand because, despite what I am thinking now out of anger, I know she'll always be there to lend a helping hand. I also know that she and all mothers will Protect their children. Also my mum's favourite colour is purple. :3

Now I have to RNG that Darkrai event and can someone please make me some CSS so I can have a pretty trade thread :3

Wow, nice abuses everyone ^^ I'm a bit busy with my in-laws being in town, so I haven't had a chance to update the leaderboard just yet because that requires sitting down in excel/photoshop at home. I have done my abuse for this challenge, just need to transfer it ^^

EDIT: My entry!

EVs: 252 HP/252 Att/6 SDf
Moves: ThunderPunch, Snore, Sleep Talk, Rest

So I present my mom, Traci! I picked a Marowak because it dies for its children, Cubone, which is something my mom would definitely do. She's very brave (note the nature) and strong (she's holding Thick Club). The level is 46 because my mom is 46 xD I chose Rock Head because my mom is known for having a hard, heavy head xD It's pretty funny. The speed is 0 because my mom is slow when she runs now because of an old knee injury. The EVs are mainly something that could be seen on a TR set, so I thought that was pretty neat to go with. The moves are appropriate as well. ThunderPunch because my mom hits really hard (just ask my Dad if he makes an inappropriate comment). Snore, Sleep Talk, and Rest all tie in because my mom sleeps like a rock, snores, and talks in her sleep. \o/ I hope she never sees this xD

By the way, the challenge ends now on the 17th, not tonight.

When I take the time to breed a team, I often try to have a theme for it. The following RNG projects form a team of seafaring Pokemon that I have meticulously RNG'd for about a month in my breaks from playing Emerald again. In this instance I plan on playing a file where you awaken in a dry room in the Abyssal Ruins in a coma. You find yourself surrounded by powerful, strange Pokemon who have been reborn at the same time as you. They seem ready to follow your every command...

First we have the strategist of the group...

Hey, all! I know I'm not a regular here (yet), but I had a question regarding my own attempts at RNGing, which have suddenly become very frustrating. I'm currently trying to breed for shinies (no real interest in perfect IVs), and I'm gotten suck and am looking for some troubleshooting help:)

I'm using PPRNG (Mac), just in case that makes any difference. From what I've read, it shouldn't. Oh, and Black version.

My problem essentially boils down to being unable to find my starting frame for the egg. The way I learned was just to acquire and egg and hatch, then match to the starting frame from the target time, then subtract the starting frame from the needed frame (then do Chatots, etc.). The first time I tried this, it kinda worked-I was breeding for a shiny Rash Ponyta, and got the shininess, but with wrong nature :/ (Dissapointing, needless to say). So, I switched it up and tried my Snorunt/Ditto, then went to Shroomish/Ditto. For both Snorunt and Shroomish, I couldn't find the starting frame, as the Pokemon I was hatching didn't match any of the options.

Troubleshooting I've already done: Rechecked my calibration, and Timer0. Everything checked out (SID, TID, MAC #, VCount, VFrame). I also double checked my Chatots to make sure they had custom Chatters on. And I went back and checked parent IVs as well.

I have no clue where to go from here, and I'm kinda bumming, cause I was pumped to RNG after getting those two shiny Ponyta. Any suggestions for what I might be missing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:)

EDIT: Feel free to PM/VM me if you feel inclined to help me out, or replying here in the thread is cool by me to, if that's cool for everyone else.

EDIT 2: The is the guide I was using-http://learntorng.webs.com/eggrngpart2.htm

Moms. They drive you crazy but you love them anyways. My mom is very controlling and as a result, we often call her queen bee. We have to do it her way or do it no way. She's always barking out orders. Do this chore, go to this place, blah blah. She pressures me into doing her errands. I have a twin brother who's very capable of washing dishes or buying groceries himself. Nope, my mom tells me to do it! Sometimes, I think she's intimidating me to the point where her input is like toxic to me... I'm a little confused as to why my mom is primarily in my business. I thought she hates me or wants to get back at me, but she's just concerned. She worries about my safety. She doesn't want me to drive because she doesn't want to lose me. When I think more about it, I see that she's very forceful and adamant. At the same time, I notice that she's very subtle. She won't ever directly say to me, I love you. No, I don't think the words have much meaning when standalone. It's the little things my mom does that lets me know that she cares. My mom and I love common foods and she will leave some chicken wings or pieces of shrimp just for me. She went out of her way to Sam's Club to get me this cake I always look at for my birthday. She takes me out shopping when she knows I had a rough week in school. She's pushed me to take on challenging classes. She's done the paperwork and the phone calls to get me enrolled in my schools. She's helped me get to where I am today. Well, she literally gets me places by still driving me around. Idk, I complain about my mom a lot but her being tough on me made me into the woman I am today. :3;

Vespiquen is known to raise and carry around its young in its honeycomb-shaped abdomen. There's only one queen in charge, but the queen is around for her babies. I watched the episode An Angry Combeenation to see Vespiquen's behavior too. She didn't say nor move much but blasts Team Rocket away with a Power Gem. She entrusts Cheryl with some honey too... Aaa! Subtle love. I bred Vespiquen as shiny because one of the nicest things my mom's ever done for me was buy me a red rose when I graduated from high school. Vespiquen's hatched in Lacunosa Town, which is taken from lacunosus, or clouds characterized by a honeycomb pattern. Vespiquen's named after my mom. Both are beautiful nurturers in their own right.

Well, sounds like you're doing everything right. Are you checking the box for Ditto? Since you're breeding with a ditto, you need to make sure that is checked, otherwise it won't give you the right results.

Mitsy is a cute, quiet Bulbasaur who doesn't really like to battle. She was born at the same time as Rex and Gregory. She relies on techniques like Attract, Sleep Powder and Flash in battle instead of directly attacking. Unbeknownst to her trainer, Mitsy was passed on powerful abilities like Petal Dance and Sludge Bomb. The young Bulbasaur refuses to them because they're "scary."

He can be relatively reckless in battle which often results in him KOing himself before obtaining his victory. He considers Mitsy and Gregory. Rex will often spar with Gregory to train and prod Mitsy into becoming more brave.

Andromeda can sense she has latent psychic abilities and can't wait to fully realize them when she evolves. Blitz is very aggressive and will sting anything in his way: even his own parents!

For now he plans on honing his battle skills regardless and deciding on what route he wants to take when he's older.

Cryogonal has the ability to levitate in order to avoid ground type moves in the Pokémon world. Being able to levitate off the ground has always been a power that I thought would be awesome to have. Especially if I were a super hero. You could levitate up to rooftops, as well as going from rooftop to rooftop. You could use levitate to avoid attacks from the villains as well. Lots of uses could come from the ability levitate...one of my favorites.

Quickly abandoned, she was left raising these two troublemaker Nidoran. The two quickly rebelled against their mother who was soon caught by a trainer and leaving them alone. They eventually brought together a group of other small Pokemon to form a gang that made Viridian City red with anger. Lucy was the leader of the two and Fernando was the brawn.

Those are some great RNG abuses, Luke! Especially love the Pikachu, Sandshrew, and Nidoran♂. Going through and RNGing the dex is a great idea. I'd like to eventually do that, it'd just take me forever, always running out of time.

Hey, all! I'd like to throw my name in for joining this club, if that's allowed haha. I just started RNG Abusing, well...like three days ago. So far I'm only interested in breeding for shinies, but I may get into looking for wild shinies. So far, I'm not really interested in breeding for flawless IVs, it just takes too much of the variety out of the game for me. I think I've finally got a hang of the process, so I thought now might be the time to introduce myself. I haven't exactly figured out all the formatting stuff, but once I do, I'd like to show you guys what I've done so far and see what you think. :)

Uxie - Kagami
Lv. 51
OT: Wiilio | ID: 39778
Nature: Calm
Ability: Levitate
IVs: 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Moveset: Calm Mind, Extrasensory, Future Sight, Trick
Item: Wise Glasses

I chose Uxie as my super Pokemon! It is known as the Knowledge Pokemon, and rightfully so - it is not only the smartest Pokemon in existence, but it also CREATED intelligence. Being so intelligent would be useful in predicting the opponent's next move, as well as quickly planning out an effective strategy against the next robber that comes along... or the evil criminal mastermind that threatens to take over the world, whichever you prefer to think about. It can wipe out the memory of those who see its eyes, which would nullify threats from any enemy; why would they be a problem if they don't even remember what they're fighting for? It can create illusions, so it could distract any opponent while it makes a definitive move. Its spirit can leave its body without dying, which could be useful for spying (pretty sure your spirit is invisible, right?). And of course, having the ability Levitate, it can fly.

A lot of the aspects about this Uxie center around its overwhelming intelligence. The name "Kagami" came from the Yata no Kagami, which is the sacred treasure that embodies wisdom. Calm nature with max SpD has to do with the fact that a +SpD nature means that it lights bitter food, which corresponds to the Smart contest stat. Wise Glasses for wisdom, again. Calm Mind increases SpD, but it could also be a useful tactic in a battle against an evildoer; being calm and collected amongst chaos is a good way to go into any situation. Extrasensory would be amazing, seeing as it's an "odd, unseeable power." How can you dodge an attack you can't see? Future Sight for another surprise attack; after the enemy has forgotten all about it, they get hit with a "hunk of psychic energy." And of course, being smart, it must be easy to fool an opponent, which is why Trick is there.

Ultra Ball because Uxie starts with U, and there's a U on the Ultra Ball!

Robert "Bob" Bleu was your average 24-year old guy. He worked for a Pokemon rescue group that sought justice for Pokemon abuse and neglect. He typically takes on the larger missions regarding dislocated wild Pokemon and is regarded as the best in the field. What's his secret? Some say he has a way with the wild, some say it's his nice calm demeanor. Bob, however, would tell you it all started at age 3. He always had an immense love of Pokemon. He grew up on a large farm with plenty of Pokemon to play with, but because of the large size of the land, it was easy for a toddler to wander off. He wandered into the nearby woods, only to find a wild Ditto being attacked by a trio of angry Mightyena. The Ditto seemed too afraid to even Transform! Growing up with Pokemon, and even a Mightyena in their own home, he thought the task of saving Ditto would be easy. He told them "Minny won't be happy!" and continued to scold them, as if their house Mighyena would really care about wild ones. The trio turned their anger towards Bob, who kept his ground. The Ditto regained its composure and transformed itself into a larger, orange Mightyena and scared off the trio from harming Bob. Ditto went back to its blob form. But something was odd about this one. It was blue, and had the ability to speak. "I thought I was a goner! As a token of my appreciation, please take some of my power." And with that, the Ditto granted Bob the ability to transform into Pokemon by means of giving him a part of him. "It grows back for me! So don't worry. Just eat it, and we will essentially be one in the same." Thus the Blue Blob was born!

tl;dr I've always wanted the ability to transform.

OMG I was going to do a shiny Ditto with a Brave nature ;w;

Now to think of another plan entirely...

After speaking with Blade, we've decided to extend this challenge by forty-eight hours. I am going to make it so challenges are by default five days long now instead of four to allow for more entries. If you feel this is too long, please, let me know! Let's talk about this, people!

That's good actually haha. I'll probably miss a challenge as I'm going on vacation soon, or I might get back JUST in time to get an entry in.

For my challenge entry I have decided to go for Castform. Castform has lots of powers that I would love to have. She can disable other people's abilities. This would be awesome to be able to do because that means I could always have advantage in competition. She can predict the future. I would love to be able to do this for obvious reasons. And one thing which would be awesome to be able to do, control the weather. No longer would the evil sun or rain ruin my day and I could get paid to change the weather to what people want. Not to mention she has the power to change her shape so she kinda has Ditto powers... kinda.

Well done everyone! I'm sure Blade will post the winner as soon as she wakes up ^___^

Meanwhile, I gladly introduce you the new challenge!

Challenge #19: The Patriotic Challenge

RNG a Pokemon that describes your country (or state, geographical region, origins, etc.) the best!

I'm really curious about your Pokemon of choice! Good luck!

Note that this challenge, and all challenges after this one expire after 5, not 4 days like it was earlier. If you think that's too long, inform us (owners) in posts here, VMs or PMs as well. The club is for your entertainment and we want you to have as much fun as possible, so we're very opened to any kind of feedback.

In the Trade Corner (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=161), there are discussions that might be interesting for you, since RNG abusing is somewhat connected with trading, especially the topic about RNGing vs Shiny Hunting (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=279850) and the topic about your habits when catching or breeding Pokemon (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=279821). Be sure to check them out and post there! :)

Wiilio's Uxie caught my attention because it's the one superhero/superpower I didn't expect; knowledge is power! He creatively explained how multiple characteristics connected to the challenge theme. I especially like the origin, abilities, nature, smart contest, item, all Psychic type moves, and cool nickname. Also, the Ultra Ball -U for Uxie- reminds me of how S is for Superman. Most of its mountainous islands were covered in tropical rainforest, and are volcanic in origin, And also the Philippines' major crops include rice, corn, sugarcane, coconut, abaca, and tobacco, and other native fruits which we harvest yearlyI picked this pokemon because he pretty much have a resemblance to our country, being tropical, fruitful and productive.

I picked Carracosta because it the snapping turtle is the state reptile of New York. In America (I'm guessing like other countries with various territories within them) we have state symbols. I was originally going to go the generic route again like I did with Kangaskhan but I decided to do something a little more surprising. It was down between Roserade (our state flower is the rose) and this turtle but I really want to RNG this little rascal. He's named Albany after our state capitol. Carracosta represents power and is really cute: traits that represent the typical New Yorker (we're super hot and one of the leading states in most aspects). Sometimes were a little slow though so our power doesn't always get to its chance to shine. He's also level 50 to represent AMERICA OH YEAH! Despite the reputation we get we're pretty Jolly so I thought the competitive nature fit. XD

I also have another set of dex mons I'll be posting soon. :D

As for the discussion topic, I will do whatever is easiest if I can. However, I recently did runs through Platinum and HeartGold RNGing every gift/stationary Pokemon I could (HG: starters, red Gyarados, Ho-oh, etc; Plat: Eevee, Porygon, starter, etc) and I didn't have the tools to do it the best way early on. For example, in Plat, when RNGing... pretty much everything (Eevee, Porygon, Chimchar, Rotom, Drifloon, Riolu, Togepi), I hadn't gotten to the point where I had the coin flip app yet. So I had to catch/receive/hatch the Pokemon, check its IVs, and from that, find out what delay I had hit. It was pretty brutal, but it got done.

Hey guys, I know it's been a hell of a long time since I've been here.. But I've been learning a lot more stuff and I RNG abused this lovely sea creature <3

Now, before I get into what I RNG abused.. I want to tell you the state that I live in. I live in the state of florida, the state of sunshine and sea life. Florida has a plentiful amount of marine life, and for a good reason! A peninsula would naturally have many places for aquatic animals to live, along with beautiful homes for them in the sea. And so, I present to you,

Thanks Wiilio, it took me a bit to accomplish. I'm so bad at hitting my delays xD I'm pretty much a noob, this is like.. My seventh or eighth RNG abused Pokemon.

I really appreciate your kind words =)

Edit: I might as well add in my thoughts on the discussion. For me, I've always understood everything incredibly easy.. I don't want to sound full of myself but that's how I've been since a long while ago. From the moment I started RNG abusing I was constantly trying to find new ways to do everything, learn about everything. That's the type of person I am, I LOVE to learn about every possible little detail about everything. So, I guess I started out simple and learned more complex RNG abuse such as that manaphy, and have come to understand things such as the %6 mod of the PID which is used for Tornadus/Thundurus capture. I still have to catch Tornadus in my Black.. It's been three restarts so far because I'm a complete failure and I under-predicted the SSF =p

For my challenge, I decided to RNG a Honchkrow to represent South Australia. One of South Australia's AFL teams, and the one I (and Nica) support is the Adelaide Crows. At first I thought of the generic Kangaskhan for Australia idea but it occurred to me that no one here really talks about kangaroos, no do we actually see them in the city. The Adelaide Crows are the more popular of the two AFL teams in South Australia and their logo is seen all over the place. I decided against a shiny Honchkrow because the Adelaide Crows's team colours are red, yellow and blue, which I think Honchkrow matches pretty well. I decided to hatch her in Nimbasa City, or the Big Stadium to be more exact because of obvious reasons and I gave her the egg move Brave Bird because a lot of people look up to footy players for their bravery.

@AngelZodiac: Your Manaphy is very lovely, perfect for representing Florida! -high fives-

@Discussion topic: Do you prefer to RNG in the simplest way possible, or do you use more convoluted methods because that's how you originally learned? Please explain how you RNG when you answer.
I'm all trial and error, bby. So, I come up with all sorts of quirky 'short cuts' um. I've asked around and apparently I am the rare one who listens to Chatot pitches. I match Chatot pitches to verify that I hit my seed and will advance to the frame. It hasn't failed me yet (assuming I'm not high on caffeine). For example, I set up my Chatot's cry by blowing air into the mic. The sound is just static/snow stuff, but I can accurately distinguish between very high pitch and very low pitch. If I hear three high pitches in a row, I check my table to see if I get a pattern. I don't know the shifted frame but I look for these Mid-High or (better) Highs in a row. I can follow along down the rest of the table to see if Lows and Mids match too. They do, lol. UHH

For HGSS, I use 2 roamers (I found them effective in finding the delay, without the need to check the 3rd roamer). Also, I RNG abused with the AR in and starting at 00 seconds, so my calibrated second would be very high, like 34-35 instead of say, 15 seconds. I had to let go of the AR to get a standard calibrated second, and to better use EonTimer. Thanks, teech!

I am really stubborn and think my way is best because I know what works for me... -.- I have unnecessarily given myself a headache because I am not abusing "by the book" or whatever. I am trying different methods, as per Gonzo's and Mac's love and encouragement. I just prefer RNG abusing my way, which I already believe to be the simplest way... because I understand it and it got me results, haha. When I was drafting the gen 5 guide, I was surprised there were several approaches to finding the shifting frame in eggs. Who knew something so umm 'direct' as RNG could have branching approaches...

tl;dr I am nuts and I still attempt to teach people my convoluted ways.

My entry is totally surpassed but... Here's Wingull! I also live in Florida, which is known for its beaches. There's always tons of seagulls around. However, Florida isn't 100% heaven on earth. We often get tropical storms and hurricanes hitting our shores. I leveled up the parents so the baby would inherit Hurricane. I've never experienced a truly horrible hurricane but... As long as I'm in Florida, there's a chance. :'( Knock Off is there because it is a cool egg move, but my city has a very high crime rate. :/

Notably, an elderly NPC named Mr. Briney owns a Wingull named Peeko. Florida is well known for having lots of old people, haha. Cheers.

There's many water and flying types entered in this challenge! :)

So yes, I did Garbodor to represent the huge piece of trash country that I live in named the United States of America. I shouldn't have to explain that sentence too much, so I won't bother. I gave it a neat variation of egg moves thanks to a Ferrothorn parent I had sitting around. ^^ I named it after Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mt._Trashmore). Since I'm from Virginia, I thought that was appropriate.

As for the discussion, I tend to find the simplest way to RNG and do it. If I'm doing a more complicated way such as using elm calls to verify seeds and I find out about another way, such as roamers, I switch to roamers. I've done this and it's much easier to verify my delay ^^ Blade does some crazy stuff, but I'm glad that I'm finally getting her to see the light. I don't listen to chatot pitches because I'm tone deaf so I have a pretty hard time handling them. :(

I chose shiny Articuno because it looks similar to our national coat of arms - white eagle in a crown. The eagle has red background so Premier Ball's animation works perfectly. HP Fire to show our real strength, like when after 123 years of partitions we could rebuild our country. I couldn't find a good date so I just chose a random one and it's 12/31/2011.

For my entry challenge I'm going to dig into my Latino heritage. The little island of Puerto Rico.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/28/Flag_of_Puerto_Rico.svg/125px-Flag_of_Puerto_Rico.svg.png
For those who don't know much about it, Puerto Rico isn't just one island, but an archipelago. The main island of Puerto Rico is the smallest by land area of the Greater Antilles. However, it ranks third in population amongst that group of four islands, which also include Cuba, Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti), and Jamaica.

Now that you know a little about the island, let me introduce you to Puerto Rico's representative Pokémon, Politoed.

http://pldh.net/media/dreamworld/186.png
Politoed Lv.25 ♂
Trait: Drizzle
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
IVs: 31 | 30 | 31 | 30 | 31 | 31 [HP Grass 70]
- Scald
- Swagger
- Perish Song
- Encore
Date: December 10, 2098
Hatched: Undella Town

The inspiration behind my choice has to do with one of Puerto Rico's native fauna and a symbol of pride, the Coquí (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Coqu%C3%AD).

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/ce/Common_Coqu%C3%AD.jpg/200px-Common_Coqu%C3%AD.jpg
The Common Coquí is a small frog native frog to Puerto Rico and is known throughout the islands for it's loud call "CO-QUI". You can always here its call at night no matter where you are in Puerto Rico. The citizens of Puerto Rico take such pride in the little frog, that most of knick knacks found in gift shops are adorned with the frog.

http://www.exitstudio.com/web-content/images/coquitray.gif

I think Politoed represents Puerto Rico really well. It's ability Drizzle always brings out rain when Politoed is sent out to battle. Puerto Rico is located in the tropics and is constantly plagued by tropical storms and hurricanes. It some parts of the island, annual rainfall averages to 171.09 inches (4,346 mm).

Politeod's Bold nature more or less reflects the nature of Puerto Ricans, to present themselves as confident, fearless, and adventurous.

http://0.tqn.com/d/gopuertorico/1/0/h/1/-/-/El_Yunque_Clouds_Large.jpg
I choose an HP Power of grass to represent Puerto Rico's lush green scenery which can be found throughout the island.

I realize the choice of moves are a little odd. My imagination got the best of me on that one. I choose each move to represent something.
Scald represents the warm waters of the beaches around the island.
Swagger...this one made me laugh. Take a look at all of the Reggaeton artists from Puerto Rico and you'll see that those guys sweat swag from their pores.
Perish Song seems a little depressing if you think about what the move actually does, but music is a very important aspect of all Spanish culture.
And finally, there's Encore. Even when the song ends for us, we always pick it up again.

Now the date I picked for Politoed has some importance. Dec. 10, 2098 would mark 200 years that Puerto Rico has been a commonwealth of the United States. That's if it doesn't becomes a state or gain independence by then. Back in Dec. 10, 1898, Spain had seceded Puerto Rico after the Spanish-American War. So if that hadn't happened, I'd probably be Spanish instead of American...trippy.

So, tl;dr Politoed resembles the Puerto Rican Coquí and our attitude.

I picked her because even though she evolves into a Pokemon that's flower is similar in appearance to the rafflesia. Her smell is very relaxing and has perfume like aroma. And with her modest nature and ability Chlorophyll ..it really does shine under the SUN.

After learning 4rth gen RNG. It finally paid off :)

Very nice abuses so far B) I finally got around to doing mine last night, which seemed to want to troll me with delay -.- I know it's not that special because I had to breed it, but I am rather happy with it.

It's my pleasure to introduce a man that needs no introduction: the Don... also known as the Godfather. A well-respected Mafia man... and here he is in Pokemon form! He evolved from the Dusk Stone ^^ You do this for him, and you are a made man, you got me? When the Don asks you for help, you do it, because you know that he's helped you in the past. If you don't do it, you are going to be whacked for sure! The Don puts the Family above all else, so if you go against the Family, you go against the Don... and then you get whacked.

When the Don wants something, he gets it.

I'm not a huge fan of any stone evolving Pokemon, to be honest. I bit the topic from another side.

So, here is my entry!

Excaspin and Twistbur, brother and sister whose main activity is helping lil' Eevee, Shellder, Pikachu and other Pokemon becoming stronger! They take requests for evolutionary stones and find them to fulfill their evolution dreams. By the way, if you find items in dustclouds, it's because of their clumsy helpers who often lose them in caves:

Waaaat? That's crazy! D:

Gonzo and I listen to Chatot pitches as well, blade (Or at least, I think it was Gonzo that did). It's very useful indeed.
Oh very nice! My mic is getting a little low quality now. :/ I need to stop depositing my Chatot.

Who's the rarest gem in the cave of electrified stones? Tynamo! She's one of the few evolutionary-stone families I haven't RNG abused yet. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to find a wild spread cuz I'd totally use Dive Ball... :') Fun fact, today is 06/02, she was hatched on 06/02, and Tynamo's number is 602. ANOTHER FUN FACT: A swirling dust appeared as soon as it said 'Oh?' egg hatching. XD;

The next challenge is...
Challenge #0: Snorlax used Rest!

Challenges will start again on Friday. We want to revamp club's formula - add new stuff, remove what didn't work, etc. so we need time! While our brainstorm of fantastic ideas for the club continues, be sure to reply to our current discussion topic (we change it tomorrow!), share your fantastic abuses with us and ask questions about RNG that we'll gladly answer.

Thank you all for participating in the past 20 challenges! It was great fun thinking of the challenges and seeing your wicked entries. Picking the winner was always a tough decision and we hope we'll have to make more, even harder decision while choosing the winner!

RNG'd Pokemon are totally the best. ;) Congrats to the thread for winning club of the month! I'm proud to be in it! :) And congrats to the Politoed that won the last challenge weeheehee and the awesome amazing Gonzbr0 with his awesome Dive Ball Exca. Maybe this break from challenges won't be so bad, since if I'm able to use wifi on my DS here, I can catch up on this project I've been working on. No, RNGed Pokémon act as normal because they are. They involve no hacking unless they are hacked separately later.

No, changing router affects your... Nothing, not even FC. MAC address of your DS will never change.
In case you've mispelled: When you breed normal eggs, does changing route mess something up with the egg? No, then why would mess up RNG?

Very nice Eevee, by the way. Congrats :) I hope to see more abuses of you :D

Do you prefer to RNG in the simplest way possible, or do you use more convoluted methods because that's how you originally learned? Please explain how you RNG when you answer.

I always do it the simplest way. I dropped journal flips in DPPt, instead of this I use Chatots. When I catch Pokemon, I also pick the location with the least (preferably no) NPCs. If I have more than one spread I'd like to use, I pick the one with the lowest delay or the least keypresses. When I breed in 5th Gen, I use seeds that have my results multiplied within the frames. When breeding in 4th Gen, after my PIDRNG is done, I pick an IV seed with delay closest to my PIDRNG delay so if I had, for example: delay 650, I'll pick the seed with delay 640-660.
That's pretty much all, I guess :)

Ummm I usually pick places with no NPCs when I do captures. The original way I learned isn't really a hard way. I probably did learn in the most simple way, though I have a habit in doing things the way I first learned, so that obviously applies to more than just RNG. As for breeding, I tend to pick a seed with a low frame so that I don't have a butt load of chatters to do. That's really all I can think of...lol I only do 5th gen RNG so can't really say much on 4th.

June 5th, 2012, 05:09 PM
I was asking because that's the only thing I changed since my last RNG. I cannot hit my target frame and instead I end up with a Pokemon that isn't on the same seed. I am positive I am hitting my target time so that's not the problem. I recalibrated my ds and ended up with a different timer0 value so I tried again but ended up with the same results. Same Pokemon every time, even after chattering a couple of times. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, how do you get flawless shiny seeds? I can't seem to find any. :(

I generally like to do things the simple way when it comes to RNGing. I don't see there any point in making things harder than they need to be. If possible, I'll RNG Pokémon in places without NPCs. In fact, I haven't advanced my IV frame before. I don't think I understand how to do it right still. I RNG with the lowest keypresses and PID frame possible.

They can take a while. I recommend using flawless international parents, if this is breeding we're talking about. That usually speeds up the search.

I generally do it as simply as possible. No NPCs (if I can avoid it), lowest frame, IV frame of 1 (I just don't know any other way). In fact, even when I RNGd Tornadus, I caught it in a Master Ball so I didn't have to chase it around each time without knowing if I hit the right frame and nature.

By the way Sydian, nice signature. That was the first Zelda game I played, although that's not saying much considering I've only played three (four if you count OoT 3d)

Only just found this club, definitely a place for me ^^ started RNG abusing about a month ago, really like it for the different kind of challenge it offers. I wish I'd found about this sooner, now all those hours I spent breeding and training imperfect pokemon feel like a waste of time.. Oh well.

I've pretty much mastered egg RNG abusing, my next project is to learn how to RNG abuse the event Darkrai I've been stalling on accepting :)

The few pokemon I've so far done:

Rotom
Modest nature
31/31/31/31/31/30
HP ice 70

Nidoran♀
DW ability hustle
Modest nature
31/18/31/31/31/31

Nidoran♂
DW ability hustle
Modest nature
31/17/31/31/31/31

I'd add handy dandy sprites of the pokemon but I'm not allowed before I post 15 posts on these forums :< Looking forward to trying one of those challenges though ^^
