I don't have Ru/Sa, but I have battled on RSBot (when it was working), so here's my new virtual team. Please don't bash me, but I am open to constructive criticism. Make sure you corroborate all suggestions with easily understandable reasoning. Don't just say, "That sucks!" Rate my team and make suggestions (and yes, EV suggestions would help since I don't seem to use standard EV distribution). Thanks.

Jolteon@Leftovers
~Volt Tackle
+Timid
EVs – Def 129, Sp Atk 129, Spd 252
Thunder Wave
Thunderbolt
Attract
Bite
I think my main problem with Jolteon is I don't have many counters to ground types. My Alakazam's Ice Punch is the only super effective attack. I definitely need help on Jolteon. Perhaps I should use a different opener?

Skarmory@Leftovers
~Keen Eye
+Impish
EVs – Hp 129, Atk 129, Sp Def 252
Spikes
Drill Peck
Roar
Toxic
My spiker, PHazer, and Shuffler. What more could I want?

Alakazam@Leftovers
~Synchronize
+Timid
EVs – Hp 128, Def 252, Sp Def 128
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
Psychic
I hate Calm Mind, but you can suggest it if you want. I feel Alakazam can't last anyway, so it's a waste to teach it a non-damaging attack. Fire Punch is good against steel types, so I like having all three punches. I think I intend Alakazam to be my special sweeper that will take out about two opponents before going down.

Gengar@Lum Berry
~Levitate
+Bold
EVs – Hp 200, Def 200, Sp Def 110
Mean Look
Hypnosis
Rest
Perish Song
Trap opponent and switch out on turn three. I know it's a waste of Gengar's special attack, but what other pokemon can learn Mean Look and Perish Song?

Slaking@Leftovers
~Truant
+Adamant
EVs – Def 252, Sp Def 6, Spd 252
Amnesia
Slack Off
Earthquake
Hyper Beam
Pretty Self-explanitory. Amnesia doubles its special defense to great heights making it a more than decent tank (it also has great HP and solid defense). Earthquake and Hyper Beam maximize its incredible attack. I know you'll say Hyper Beam prevents Slaking from switching, but I don't intend him to leave the arena until he finishes off half my opponent's army. Slack Off is a nice recovering move, which I find handy since Slaking is also my tank.

Blissey@Leftovers
~Natural Cure
+Bold
Evs – Hp 6, Def 252, Sp Def 252
Toxic
Softboiled
Heal Bell
Seismic Toss
My wonderful special wall (sponge?). Heal Bell is a nice option in case I send Blissey into battle earlier to heal my team. With Toxic and Seismic Toss, tripled with Softboiled, Blissey is a nice closer.

Now it's time for you to rip my team apart, er, to give me good advice.:chu:

Take care,
David

I know that's the standard Jolteon, but I kind of wanted it to be more of an annoyer. Oh well. You have more experience than I do, so I'll take your advice. I know this sounds stupid, but does baton pass really carry through substitute?

For Skarmory, you're probably right. As for Gengar, I know it's definitely not standard, but it's only there because I want to use the Mean Look / Perish Song combo. I really could use suggestions for that combo though. I guess you're right about Alakazam's EVs, but I just hate to see his Defense stay so low.

For Slaking, I don't want to use Choice Band. I guess the reason is that I feel Hyper Beam is necessary to balance the negative effect of Truant. Then, Choice Band will screw me if my opponent switches to a steel, rock, or ghost poke. What's currently terrible about Slaking the way it is now?

For Blissey, why change Heal Bell to Aromatherapy? I'm pretty sure it can learn Heal Bell. I prefer Toxic over Ice Beam, considering Blissey already knows Seismic Toss.

Thanks and take care.

Then, Choice Band will screw me if my opponent switches to a steel, rock, or ghost poke. What's currently terrible about Slaking the way it is now?Protect, Switching to Gengar/Misdreavus or other Levitaters screws it up very much and gives the opponent time to switch/calm mind/swords dance etc.

For Blissey, why change Heal Bell to Aromatherapy? I'm pretty sure it can learn Heal Bell. I prefer Toxic over Ice Beam, considering Blissey already knows Seismic Toss.Aromatherapy > Heal Bell because Soundproof pokes like Mr.Mime make Heal Bell worthless, yes they are uncommon but just pick Aromatherapy :), Ice Beam is for McGar/McIceGar so you dont lose Blissey because of him.

Thanks and take care.

I just looked up Baton Pass's full description. If Jolteon uses Substitute and then Baton Pass, the new poke will receive a substitute with Jolteon's Hp but the new pokemon's own Def, Sp Def, and weaknesses/resistances. This means if I BP to Skarmory, Skarmory's new sub will have Jolteon's Hp, but It'll have its own super defense. :)

As far as Slaking, if I don't give him Choice Band, I don't see how levitate can hurt him (I wouldn't have to stick with EQ). Protect is a problem I guess, but it will miss eventually.:) I don't know. I love my Slaking, but I don't like to use overpopular movesets since they can be anticipated by my opponents.:(

As for aromatherapy on Blissey, I would never have thought that Soundproof prevents Heal Bell. Thanks a lot. I guess I have a lot to learn about Ru/Sa. Perhaps I should buy myself a GBA (or Nintendo DS) and . . .

Take care,
David

P.S. I don't want to teach Blissey Ice Beam just to defeat McGar. I find McGar to be rather inferior to other standard Gengar movesets (I don't claim my Gengar to be standard ;)), and, therefore, I don't expect others to use McGar too often.

Jolteon@Leftovers
~Volt Tackle
+Timid
EVs – Def 129, Sp Atk 129, Spd 252
Thunder Wave
Thunderbolt
Attract
Bite

At least 374 spd, maxed special attack and the rest in either special defense or HP. There are several effective Jolteon sets, this not being one of them.

Thunderbolt, Hidden Power, Substitute, Baton Pass

Thunderbolt, Agility, Substitute/Hidden Power, Baton Pass

Thunderbolt, Substitute/Hidden Power, Wish, Baton Pass

Skarmory@Leftovers
~Keen Eye
+Impish
EVs – Hp 129, Atk 129, Sp Def 252
Spikes
Drill Peck
Roar
Toxic

well you could want some better evs you need to stop this 252/129/129 crap the ****

set is fine, although i'd MUCH rather have taunt, substitute or rest over Toxic.

320 hp, alot of defense, a few points of speed and attack.

Alakazam@Leftovers
~Synchronize
+Timid
EVs – Hp 128, Def 252, Sp Def 128
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
Psychic

this is not a threat and it doesnt have any sort of speed

if you are going to use alakazam try some cool alternatives like Trick or Encore.

Gengar@Lum Berry
~Levitate
+Bold
EVs – Hp 200, Def 200, Sp Def 110
Mean Look
Hypnosis
Rest
Perish Song

lol uh put Protect over Rest and put Leftovers instead of lum berry

Slaking@Leftovers
~Truant
+Adamant
EVs – Def 252, Sp Def 6, Spd 252
Amnesia
Slack Off
Earthquake
Hyper Beam

this is the worst set i've ever seen

return, shadow ball, earthquake, (slack off/hyper beam/focus punch/fire blast)@choice band

there is no other set besides this one that works for slaking

Blissey@Leftovers
~Natural Cure
+Bold
Evs – Hp 6, Def 252, Sp Def 252
Toxic
Softboiled
Heal Bell
Seismic Toss

sure. hp helps defenses might want to add more into that :)

Now that RSBot is working again, I decided to make my team. I realized something in the process. I should remove Gengar and replace it with Misdreavus. I know Misdreavus doesn't have good stats, but it is an incredible perish trapper (Mean Look, Perish Song, Confuse Ray, Protect:)).

Edit: Pokemon is chess, I didn't see your post. Yeah, I completely redid my lineup.

Thanks and take care.

Oh, you might want Rest in there somewhere ._. Over Toxic plz.

AND WTF, PEOPLE, STOP WITH ODD NUMBERS FOR EVS

252 HP, 4 Speed, 252 Defense is just a basic EV spread for Skarm. If you want to protect him a little more, tho, put some from Defense into Special Defense. And remember, always make the EV distributions into numbers divisible by 4.

Sup Aerodactyl? Wow, would you look at that. I got a Defense boost

look at the rest of his team

do you really think he needs steel wing to do absolutely **** to Gyarados which easily sweeps him
