Can somebody shed some light on that?"community supporter"?(no offence to whoever it is)

That's just a usergroup for people who have generously donated to PC. Steve's idea, I think...
Koroku
January 11th, 2005, 10:34 PM
Erm, what powers do they get?
And doesn't italic imply access to admincp?
Edit: The Color/Italic makes them seem like they are staff, and that isn't such a good idea. I think a rank would be plenty... >_>
Pachy
January 11th, 2005, 10:37 PM
yeah! what powers DO they get?
Arekkusu Rizu
January 11th, 2005, 10:37 PM
Yes it is for those who have contributed, I don't know much but it they have no power from what I know they only have a username in italics I think. And no I doubt they can access adminship, but if you notice they are regular font not bold.

January 11th, 2005, 10:38 PM
they have no powers..they just donated to PC is all...

it's just PC's thank you for donating.. they have no powers or anything else special besides the color of their username and a seperate usergroup - EVERYTHING else is the same as a normal member.. (no t-dome either)
Koroku
January 11th, 2005, 10:42 PM
Haha, yes I agree.
I just say that because we have a lot of staff, and now colors, and it'll confuse members. And "Community Supporter" also gives a feeling that they offer "support" like staff does.
I think italic/rank with "Community Donator" would be nice. ^^

January 11th, 2005, 10:44 PM
The Community Supporter members are members that donated money to PC (the sever cost and stuff).
They have no powers around PC, they are just like any other member around PC. They are not Staff members, it's just a colored user name.
And italic user names dosen't always mean you can get into the Admin CP (Brittany has a bold and italic user name but she is just a Mod).
Koroku

the idea of the italics and special color (notice it's green - green for money) is to attract attention and hopefully get others to donate.. and as a way to show that that user has donated..
we also have a list of who donated what in the donation announcement thread.

If possible, (and it might be, I’ve worked my way spending money online before) I’d just do it, to do it. I like my admin colors, but I like the idea of supporting them.
That said, I like Greg’s idea for a rank/italic name, and the rank being donator instead. Up to Steve though, just thought I’d add~

My opinion probably won't be appreciated, but i'm not liking the soudn of this. It's liek your buying your user group. Almost like a bribe. People should just donate to donate out of the good will of their hearts, not so they can get teh color of their name changed. It sounds pointless, really. A rather poor incentive.
Besides, some of us who want to donate don't have the mean nor the capital to do it, so the color change incentive (if you really want to call it that) won't change that for us.
IN all honesty, to break it down, IMO it's a bad idea.
Take that as you please.

the point of the coloring is twofold: a) to reconize their donation. b) to provide incentive for others to donate (wow, we get a cool, colored username!)
the idea is to seperate them from lets say mods who are bolded
