http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/eventimages/eastereggs/07.pngSo, a lot of controversy around Gen 5 and it's pokemon. Personally, I loved the way they looked. But I want to hear what PC has to say. So, what was your favorite pokemon(s) of Gen 5? Also, what are your least favourites? Feel free to respond to other posts & discuss/promote your favourites. As for the generation as a whole, if you feel they don't look like Pokemon, use the seperate thread for that.

(Sorry if this has been posted before or is a common question.)

People can make fun of it all they want, but I'm in love with this thing's design. I only wish it had a better movepool. D:

Yes, it's seriously my favorite GenV pokémon. XD

Samurott was definitely my favourite fifth generation Pokémon. Everything from its awesome design to its semi-bug type was just awesome. That being said, I will admit that Darmanitan falls dangerously close behind. Those things are amazing physical attackers and learn seriously beneficial moves early on.

Imo, a lot of the gen 5's look like garbage (In fact, one of them actually IS garbage.) but amazingly I do have some favorites from gen 5.

Stoutland, Serperior, and Zebrastrika (Spelled wrong I know).

I'm just kinda afraid to see what they come up with in the 6th generation.

Hmm good question, I really love Vanilluxe and as much as you may dislike it's design, for me it's cute!

Well it seems likes/dislikes is close enough to death that a couple days don't really matter - the thread needed a refresh anyways. So as a result, I'm just going to edit in a few discussion questions into the first post so we can get some discussion happening again. :3

Either way, my favourite was Herdier partially because of the design/partially because of how it sounds as well as partially because it was a dog, lol. Everything about it is awesome tbh.

As for others, some of the ones I didn't like were Crimgan, Garbodor, etc, but purely because of design. A lot of the ones I disliked before I kind of liked more because of battling, lol, like Tornadus. :x

But yeah, overall, Crimgan/Druddigon should probably be deleted. :)

WHAT?! I think Druddigon looks totally kick ass! lol Just my opinion though. And Garbador is just a reboot of Muk and I never really liked Muk. The gothitelle and it's evolutions look so ridiculous to me. I don't like them at all. I like the monkey trio excep the water form. Simsear has to be my new favorite pokemon. It and Timburr. And it's evolved forms.

GolurkIsDaBomb
March 29th, 2012, 04:52 PM
Personally I like Golurk (which you might be able to guess by my name :))
Its a giant robot. THAT FLIES. Plus it's got a movepool that helps it do what it needs to

Other favorites of mine include.... hm. I kinda like all of the 5th gen. They really grew on me. But i guess I'd go with the jelly bear Reuniclus, Elgyem, Rufflet, Joltik, Serperior, uh... and Darmanitan, especially zen form. I thought that was a cool feature.

Least favorites would be Gothita (it's lips are two disconnected ovals!?) and actually the musketeer trio. Something about them seemed creepy, like a human deer hybrid gone wrong...

@Forever Whatchu talkin' bout? Druddigin/Garbodor are awesome, even though I kinda hated them at first... but now they're cool haha

People need to stop being haterz when it comes to 5th generation pokemon.

The variety of styles makes it great for everyone. IF you like elegant, tough, weird, cute, ugly, regal, sinister, or any combination of these styles, there is a Pokemon for you in this generation.

I also like the new and unique typing of pokemon, with the exception of the poor representation of poison types, and even maybe the fire types.

I am picky about my Pokemons' appearances, but these are the ones that appeal to me, and therefore, I can use during the game:

I should also note that this generation contains the most Pokemon that I find to be appealing enough to be on my team. This is by far the best generation of Pokemon!!!

Drakes
March 29th, 2012, 06:53 PM
I have to say, this generation of pokemon make me madder then any other. Most of them are cross bread with two skill sets but my fav is.............
Darmanitan.
He is a straight beast.

Reshiram Man
March 29th, 2012, 07:19 PM
I don't love Garbodor that much, although Trubbish is meh..
Garbodor looks hideous.

March 29th, 2012, 07:24 PM
I really enjoyed three different pokemon the best. Darmanitan, Haxorus and Braviary.
Darmanitan was a monster and Haxorus is probably my favorite dragon design. I usually never like flying but Braviary just looked awesome and he was overall a great asset to my team. He is my favorite flying including legendary birds.

Ughh.. Generation Five. Brought two Pokemon I really hate. :\

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon/576.png and http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon/569.png

I really do not know why, but these Pokemon strikes me as ugly. really. no offence.

I have a few mons I like though. Samurott is really a beast, plus Serperior is just elegant. Galvantula is badass, and so is Cofagrigus.

SquishyCasanova
March 29th, 2012, 08:26 PM
Cobalion was a cool pokemon! Not necessarily the best, but I liked it.
Least favorite, probably Simisage, Simipour and Simisear,
they were just...frightening.

I remember back on the day when it was released in japan and all of the pokemon were being released through out the day I was in aw. Then we they were all ripped by the evening my initial ones I instantly connected too were Bisharp, Haxorus, Carracosta, Krookodile line, Volcarona, and Golurk from if memory serves correctly. Then looking at it in retrospect I am thinking I like at least 75% of the designs. Good stuff as a whole, although there are hits and misses as well like the Kami Trio, Trubbish & Garbodar, Alomomola, Klink line, Cyrogonal. Then there is some I just disliked like Scraggy and Scrafty but now I love them especially since (Scraggy) atm is apart of Ash team.

Conkeldurr is the best to me for its good bulk and movesets, I have one and it sweeps like no tomorrow
Only one pokemon I cannot stand, Whimsicott, it is good but focused to much on irritating your opponents

March 29th, 2012, 10:10 PM
Looking only at concepts, my favs are Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott. I think concept of Samurai otter/sea lion using razor shells/swords is awesome. I also like Zoroark and Cofagrigus.

Well, the name says it: Excadrill.

It looks badass, it is very strong...

I don't understand what everyone's beef with Volcarona is. It is the most badass moth I have ever seen and if you Quiver Dance that thing it will take down a freight train on steroids. Oh and it puts Venomoth from Gen I to shame.

While a lot of the Gen V Pokemon looked absolutely pathetic, and like the developers just all got really drunk and splashed some paint around on a board and called it a Pokemon, there were one or two I didn't mind....

Volcarona
Hydreigon (was waiting for a three-headed dragon for sososo long)
Kyurem
Samurott
Excadrill
Haxorus (there is a reason it has hax in it's name)

I wasn't aware everyone had a beef with it, judging by the people that voted in this topic http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=275633 and the comments they made as to how great it is and how much they liked it.

Volcarona is a great lead but its 4 times weakness to rock and the popularity of stealth rock are the only thing holding it back. Start with a rapid spin and it is a great Gen V pokémon

@Hikari - Reuniclusis seriously one of the coolest pokemon in B/W IMO.

My favorite 5th gen pokemon is definitely Archeops and Dweeble/Crustle! I think the designs were amazing especially for Archeops. I love all the colors on him! And for Dweeble and Crustle, I think their designs are very cute and fun! Dweeble is just so adorable that I wish I still had my hermit crabs so I can change all of their to Dweeble, LOL

I am one of the V gen hater. Yes, I'm very disappointed by almost every designs. Really. I love the games BW, but the Pokémon repelled me a lot.
Now, I'm used to them so I don't hate them as much as in the beginning x)
Anyway, each to his own taste !
Well, maybe I don't generally like the V gen Pokémon, but there's one or two of them I can stand, like Braviary or Deerling. And I think Garbodor's funny :pink_nod:

Escavalier and Accelgor are definitely among my favorites (pre-evos too)

Their concept is clever and they just look boss among the unfavorable bug type.

Hydreigon. It's a three-headed dragon. That's all I need to say. Cofagarius in a close 2nd, though.

Mienshao's design for me is probably the best, I don't know it just looks so elegant or something :)

Also love Ducklett, Braviary, Tirtouga, Minccino, Sawsbuck, Durant, Cobalion and Reshiram :)

Really hard! xP

I'd say...Emolga, Sewaddle, Tepig, Zorua, Minncino, Axew, Oshawott and Snivy. xP

Ok, I hate Unova Pokemon in general but I can deal with very few Pokemon from Unova

Snivy and its evolutionary chain and Oshawott and it's evolutionary form looks retarded.

I'd have to say my favorites are:

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/621.gif
Even though I've been let down by my own Druddigon (his nature suck, and I didn't realize it until recently), I will always love it. It does have high attack and I think it looks funny, but that's one of the reasons it's my favorite from this region.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/497.gif
This is one of the best designed Pokemon ever, in my opinion. I picked it as my starter and it has NEVER let me down. I use it with Coil + Leaf Blade, and sometimes Slam (for those that are good against grass).

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/584.gif
This thing. When I first saw it I thought it was a joke. Then, when I got the game, I found myself wanting it more and more, until I got it! I love it! It's such a special sweeper, and it's just so great.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/628.gif
This thing is such a beast! It's fast and it's attack is amazingly high! Plus, it's also really well designed.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/553.gif
This is also a beast. My Krookodile was always really powerful even with a bad nature. I think it's really cool looking too. Get one.

Other ones I like or think look good/cool/cute:

I'd say I'm split between Druddigon and Haxorus. On one hand, Haxorus has a massive Attack stat that nearly rivals Rayquaza, though it has a gaping hole in it's special defense. Druddigon's speed is... well, bad, though it's got great defenses in both stats, and it's attack is pretty good for a single stage. In terms of design, I'd have to say Haxorus wins.. Though Druddigon's potential is what interests me the most there.

Vanilluxe, Zekrom, Chandelure, Swanna, Liligant, Serperior, Oshawott, and Larvesta.

Axew line- is pretty well recieved all over in both abliities and looks so I don't think I need to explain any further.
Sandile line- I love reptiles so a crocodile Pokemon was a must for me. This was the first gen V pokemon I saw and thought "Must have"
hydreigon - A three headed dragon is cool in itself but there is something about this guy that just seems... evil. And evil is cool. Pokemon like Tyranitar and Houndoom may look threatning but hydreigon is on a diffrent level. Mewtwo was supposed to be the only pokemon that was born nasty but I think it may have a challenger.
Lilipup line- In sharp contrast to the above Lilipup just looks cute and full of personality. Hearder and Stoutland live up to Lilipup.
archeops- Being a fossil nerd I was very happy to see this pokemon, on I immediatly recognised as archeopteryx, the first bird. That alone wins it for me, the massive attack is just another plus.

Zephele
April 4th, 2012, 04:06 PM
Galvantula is definitely my absolute favourite. It has an adorable pre-evolution, and an awesome type combination (two of my favourites). Archeops takes a close second place, mostly because it saved me so many times when I first played through White.

As for Pokemon I'm not a fan of... there's not really any one I can point out. I even like the less popular ones, like Garbodor and Vanilluxe. I'm pretty fond of most of the Gen 5 designs.

bctincher15
April 5th, 2012, 07:23 PM
My most favorite is probably Serperior, and my least favorite is, well, I don't have one, I like all of them in some way, but none will be better than the 1st generation.

It appears this thread's title has been slightly alternated. My least favourite Pokémon was definitely Serperior. That thing disappointed the hell of me — whether it's by its design or movepool. Sad to say, but that was my least favourite starter evolution line.

Lol, I'm geussing it was a moderator.

As for the topic at hand, I really don't like Gothitelle. Or whatever it's name is. It's design dissapointed me. I've really grown fond of Golurk, though.

There were a few good ones. Most of them were terrible though on my opinion. Especially the legendaries, having one colour makes them look so dull and boring. Also I hated the name black and white, its just kinda meh, two very boring colours.

The only ones I liked were Archeops and Darmanitan, they are stupidly powerful yet underrated, especially Darmanitan, with choice band it can sweep entire teams with flare blitz.

The 5th Gen introduced some of my fave Pokemon, especially these:

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/501.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/502.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/503.gif

Oshawott, Dewott & Samurott
When I first saw these Water-types, I knew I had to choose Oshawott as my starter. The anime pushed me even more with Oshawott acting cute, causing him to become my fave Pokemon. My fave Water Starter line to date and they didn't fail to impress me.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/574.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/575.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/576.gif

Gothita, Gothorita & Gothitelle
These Psychic-types made me want to play Black, I love the design (Gothic Lolita FTW!) and the cries (I like how Gothitelle's cry sounds like the scary music from Psycho). Gothitelle is now one of my stars and I loved using her, she uses Calm Mind like a champ.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/582.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/583.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/584.gif

Vanillite, Vanillish & Vanilluxe
Finally, we have an ice cream Pokemon - and this one's really cute. I don't often use Ice-types but unlike most people here I actually like this family of Ice-types. I even had Vanillite as one of my previous avatar/signature themes, no wonder I like it. Plus Marriland used one in his White video playthrough as well making me love it even more!

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/577.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/578.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/579.gif

Solosis, Duosion & Reuniclus
Even though I play Black, I secretly traded a Solosis over from my brother's White so I can test it. It was actually pretty good once it evolved. I love Reuniclus cos it's so huggable and has good Special moves plus it's a beast on those teams based around Trick Room. I like Gothitelle better design-wise but I love Reuniclus too.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/587.gif

Emolga
My fave Electric Rodent, cos it's so cute (especially in the anime). Even though people hate the Emolga in the Nimbasa Gym cos of Double Team, I decided to train one and mine turned out good (I managed to get mine to Level 58, I'm not kidding!). Emolga will always be the cutest Electric Rodent.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/605.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/606.gif

Elgyem & Beheeyem
When I first saw these little Psychic aliens, I went "awwww...". Then my love towards them got better thanks to Marriland using an Elgyem (and later Beheeyem) in his White playthrough, they are cute and amazing Trick Room threats as well.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/607.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/608.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/609.gif

Litwick, Lampent & Chandelure
My fave Ghost-types, I remember seeing these Ghost/Fire-types and I went "Litwick (Hitomoshi back then) is so cute!". Then after seeing that massive Sp. Attack stat Chandelure has, I just had to have one. After playing Black, I caught the first Litwick I saw and she's now an amazing Chandelure. I love their designs and the fact that I am Lampent in the Unova Zodiac (I was born in October) makes me a big fan of these things.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/498.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/499.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/500.gif

Tepig, Pignite & Emboar
I feel so sorry for Unova's resident Fire Starter, who gets so much hate cos people think he's "ugly". Not me! I think Tepig is so cute (Oshawott is still my fave) and I love his anime voice. I don't find Pignite or Emboar ugly, I find them amazing! I had a chance to use all 3 starters after I traded a Snivy and Tepig from my brother's White. My Emboar turned out amazing, he was able to outspeed some foes even without Flame Charge (he has a Jolly nature so there's a chance he may have good IVs in Speed). So guys, don't underestimate these fiery pigs. My second fave Fire Starter, behind the Chimchar line.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/572.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/573.gif

Minccino & Cinccino
These Normal-type chinchilla Pokemon are something to watch out for. Cuteness and moves that abuse the Technician ability. With Technician, Cinccino becomes a massive threat with normally weak multi-strike moves like Bullet Seed, Rock Blast and its signature Tail Slap. I tried one out and she was amazing! They are also so cute too.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/495.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/496.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/497.gif

Snivy, Servine & Serperior
My fave Grass Starter as far as design goes, not as good for movepools but whatever? Snivy's design and anime personality made me like it. I traded one from my brother's White and as a Serperior, he was amazing with a Coil + Leaf Blade + Leech Seed combo. And on top of that, once Contrary Serperior gets released, everyone will want him with Leaf Storm!

Pansage & Simisage, Pansear & Simisear, Panpour & Simipour
I love monkeys given I was born in 1992 (classified as Monkey in Chinese Zodiac) and these guys are no exception. I tried all 3 out and they weren't bad plus they have good movepools too. When you get one of these guys, you will have an easier time in the Striaton Gym. I also love the "Hear No, See No, Speak No" concept behind them.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/561.gif

Sigilyph
Yeah, I love most of the Unova Psychics. Sigilyph is a very interesting one with good Sp. Attack and Speed plus its awesome Magic Guard ability grants it a few immunities and it can even learn Ice Beam. I had a good time training one, and I definitely recommend it.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/559.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/560.gif

Scraggy & Scrafty
I was always wishing for a Dark/Fighting-type, and these guys come along. I love their sprite animations and they have a good movepool too. I have a female Scrafty with Moxie that loves Hi Jump Kicking everything and I love it when she gets that Attack boost with every opponent she KO's. Moxie is such an awesome ability. Ash's Scraggy in the anime is also very cool too!

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/643.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/644.gif

Reshiram & Zekrom
These guys are the most epic Legendaries ever! I love their design, Yin-Yang origin and those tails that charge up with fire and electricity. Reshiram is the one I like better since I play Black and mine turned out with a perfect nature (Modest). I was satisfied with my Reshiram and I plan to use it again sometime. Black & White will forever be my fave games due to these amazing Legendaries. And I love the part of the main storyline where N uses one of the dragons and battles the other one that you catch, most epic battle ever. Yeah, Unova has really awesome Pokemon which is why I loved the 5th Gen.

And here's the ones I hated:

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/621.gif

Druddigon
It looks ugly and its Speed is a letdown despite the nice movepool. Sorry Druddigon but your Speed just wasn't up to my standards.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/618.gif

Stunfisk
It's a total DERP. I did catch one but I don't use it cos it's slow (which is not common for Electric-types) and it's downright ugly.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/504.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/505.gif

Patrat & Watchog
They suffer from that "early-route rodent" syndrome, having terrible stats and downright uselessness. Their eyes look weird too.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/509.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/510.gif

Purrloin & Liepard
They may look sneaky, but every time I battle a Liepard it always uses Fake Out on me, which is downright repetitive. Plus, I had a terrible time training Liepard.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/524.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/525.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/526.gif

Roggenrola, Boldore & Gigalith
They look cool, but what I hated about them was their shallow movepool and that ability I don't want to mention... (Hint: It prevents you KO'ing them in one hit)

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/550.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/550-blue.gif

Basculin
They always annoy me when I'm surfing or fishing. And they are very fast and hit hard, making it way more annoying. Such a pity they have good abilities though.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/556.gif

Maractus
It looks cute but I would have loved it more if it had more Special moves in its movepool. At least I use mine in Musicals though.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/590.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/591.gif

Foongus & Amoonguss
They are so ugly and I hate the Poke Ball disguise they serve.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/532.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/533.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/534.gif

Timburr, Gurdurr & Conkeldurr
They are so ugly, I did use a Timburr in the Gym Battle against Lenora (a female one actually) but their movepool is too shallow, they should get the Elemental Punches in B2/W2.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/527.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/528.gif

Woobat & Swoobat
They aren't the Zubat of Unova for nothing... appearing in every cave except Chargestone Cave. Also, their stats apart from Speed are really mediocre.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/631.gif

Heatmor
So ugly, it's terrible and derpy. Such a pity cos it learns the awesome Flamethrower naturally.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/646.gif

Kyurem
Ugliest of the Tao Trio, Reshiram and Zekrom are way cooler than this...

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/641.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/642.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/645.gif

Tornadus, Thundurus & Landorus
They look like carbon copies of each other, same body just different colors. Their faces look weird too.

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/568.gifhttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/569.gif

Trubbish & Garbodor
These Poison-types are my least fave of all Pokemon (particularly Garbodor) cos they look ugly and their movepool is terrible cos they are Physical-based but learn mainly Special attacks. In fact the only Physical STAB move they learn is the inaccurate Gunk Shot. They are total rubbish.

My favorite Pokemon in Unova has to be Axew. I just love that Pokemon.

The Pokemon I hate the most in Unova has to be Zorua. I only hate it because I can't get it!

The Unova Pokemon I liked the most would have to be Zoroark, Mandibuzz, Serperior, Scrafty, Galvantula and Carracosta. In fact, that was the team I used. I also like the Haxorus line, mainly because of their excellent attack.

The only Unova Pokemon I don't like is Garbodor. I just really don't like its design. That wouldn't stop me from using it in battle, though.

Here's a few of my most favorites and why

Druddigon
Despite its low Speed, it's a powerful dragon to me and the first Unova region dragon I ever caught. I bredded for a fast natured one: The Druddigon I have a speed of 110 at Lv 50, being Jolly natured. I love my male shiny Druddgion in Black and my female one in White because of strong movesets.

Krookodile
When I looked up this pokemon before the game came out, I instantly wanted to get myself one of those guys so I caught it's pre-evolved form & raised it. Krookodile is also among my main team in Black. If he's against anything faster than him, his Low Sweep will slow 'em down.

Archeops
This pokemon is far by my most favorite fossil pokemon of all, ranking right next to Aerodactyl (My 1st favorite fossil pokemon). Despite the let down ability, my Archeops is fast and strong. She's basically my main aerial support for my main team.

Haxorus
This... this dragon here... is the most powerful in my main team, with her Attack going almost to 400. My Haxorus is a major threat because she can obliterate her foes easily. Even an Aggron with Sturdy or Gengar with Levitate can't withstand her Earthquake! She's the sparkling star of my main team, literally because she's a shiny Haxorus.

I don't have any least favorites...

They say never judge a book by it's cover, that can certainly be said for this Pokémon as it has great stats and can be very helpful in tough battles, not to mention it's cute!

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/510.gif
Yeah it may not have the best stats but it certainly looks the part, it's another Cat Pokémon and that's why I love it!

Dislike

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/555.gif

Many may disagree on this one but I just don't find it very appealing, it's strong but that's not always the best quality in a Pokémon, right?

I have only been playing the game since yesterday so I have only seen a handful of Pokemon :P I'd say my favourite so far is Sawk. So you can probably tell that my range of Pokemon to choose from isn't very high!

I love that Egyptian/Mummie Pokemon I saw earlier in this topic! What is it called? I'mm go catch it!

April 7th, 2012, 11:41 AM
My favourite generation V Pokémon is Volcarona. Volcarona has a beautiful design and is great fun to use in battle. I love how it can boost its stats with Quiver Dance and Fiery Dance. My least favourite would be Stunfisk. It looks aweful and causes DBEs.

Ephemeral Euphoria
April 7th, 2012, 11:55 AM
My favorites are Mandibuzz, Cofagrigus, Carracosta, Excadrill, Lilligant, Meloetta, Genesect, the tao trio, Zoroark, Emboar, the kami trio, and Haxorus since they're fun to use, have rather nice designs, and their movepools aren't too bad either.

My least favorites are the elemental monkeys, Krookodile, Jellicent, Bisharp, Watchog, Afrobull, Conkeldurr, Durant, the musketeer trio, Keldeo, Whimsicott, and Samurott due to crappy typings and designs, horrid movepools, and are overall disappointing even to face or use.

Most favorite - Mandibuzz. I can go on for hours on how much I love this bird and its abilities as a rather decent mixed wall but I'm just gonna say I love vultures and leave it at that.

Most hated - Watchog. Oh my god I despise this piece of crap that Lenora used against me to make Whitney seem like a walk in the park in comparison to this. I really don't want to say anymore than that.

Just my 2 cents there.

My favourite is Lilligant :3 I like it's movepool for a solid status/absorb, stat/attack moveset. And it looks cool.

Least favourite... the main bird. I can't even remember it's name I avoid it that much ;_;.

April 10th, 2012, 05:58 AM
I like chandelure because of its high special attack and movepool. My chandelure can sweep teams and the elite four :3. And i like stunfish because it so derpy :3 lolz.

And i hate...i dont know. I dont really have a hate pokemon in 5th gen. But somewhere else i hate jynx. Timid jynx just spam lovely kiss at you and set up nasty plot >.<

Yes, it's seriously my favorite GenV pokémon. XD

I love that guy too! I've always liked odd Pokemon, and another one of my favorites is Cryogonal. I use it competitively, and it's pretty great (physically, no, but it's great for a Special attacker and sponge along with Recover, and is also a fun spinner). Also Stunfisk - I'd say he's my favorite.

Oh......Same answer here. Hate those Patrats......-_-

I guess I'm kind of a Gen V hater, but ZOROARK. OMG, this think is a beast. I love everything about it.
I also like Mienfoo/Mienchao, but I have no idea why. I guess it's because Mienfoo is cute and Mienchao is just......strong. It's design is mediocre, IMO.

I actually like most of the Generation V Pokemon. There were some really great designs in there, things like any of the starters, Emolga, Bisharp, and the Simis... There are a few in there that I don't like. I'll admit I am on the giant boat of people that don't like Garbodor. The design seems just bad to me. But then again, I can say the same for a few older Pokemon as well.

April 19th, 2012, 04:33 PM
Volcarona is a great lead but its 4 times weakness to rock and the popularity of stealth rock are the only thing holding it back. Start with a rapid spin and it is a great Gen V pokémon

Ya, I agree Crazyme931, Volcarona is the COOLEST Pokemon I have ever

seen and used!!!!!!! Besides the weakness and stealth rock popularity, I

think Volcarona is the coolest Pokemon in BW, along side Zekrom,

Stunfisk (jk),lol, and Braviary

Samurott is my fav, If only it showed off its sword in its battle sprite, my least favourite has to be Stunfisk, because, well... It's Stunfisk... :P At first I actually thought it was an Electric/Ground type Magicarp, then it dished out a few moves on me, I was expecting Splash lol.

Favourite Gen V Pokemon: Probs Chandelure. It looks amazing, has great stats, awesome typing. It's just an awesome critter any which way you look at it.

Least favourite Gen V Pokemon: Druddigon. It's just... there. Under normal circumstances, it would be awesome, but it really isn't. It looks fugly, is ridiculously slow, and just isn't good to use. For a Dragon Pokemon, it really is quite pathetic.

My favorite Pokémon in 5th Gen was defs Hydreigon :3 He's so cool-looking and has incredible stats and a brutal move pool to boot. My least favorite is a tie between Simipour and Simisear -.- I still can't get over their godawful design.

When the designs for all the new Gen V Pokémon were first released, I was kind of upset. Then I bought the game and I quickly began to fall in love with most of the designs. Outside of first gen, Gen V has some of my favorite Pokémon of all time.

Favorites: Victini, Snivy, Oshawott, Excadrill, Whimsicott, Scraggy, Scrafty, Carracosta, Archeops, Zorua, Zoroark, Minccino, Cinccino, Axew, Fraxure, Haxorus, Cryogonal, Mienshao, Rufflet, Braviary, Hydreigon, and Volcarona.

Least Favorite: Liepard, Roggenrola, Boldore, Lilligant, Trubbish, Garbodor, Klink, Klang, and Klinklang.

I'm completely neutral about the rest of Gen V Pokémon.

I was seriously disappointed with the majority of Gen 5 Pokemon when they were first released, but over time a lot of them grew on me. It still isn't really my favorite as far as designs, but I have a lot of favorites.

Favorites: Oshawott family (esp Dewott), Blitzle family, Roggenrola and Gigalith (don't much like Boldore), Sawk, Throh, Sandile family, Scraggy, Archeops, Zoroark, Joltik family, Haxorus, Braviary, Mandibuzz, Heatmor, Deino family, Reshiram, Cobalion

Least Favorites: Elemental monkeys, Woobat, Timburr and Gurdurr, Tympole family, Darumaka family, Maractus, Trubbish family, Gothita family, Vanillite family, Amoongus, Frillish family, Klink family

So yeah. At first I was going to get Tepig, when only the the first starter forms had been revealed, but once the other evolutions came out I felt disappointed with Tepig's line and loved Oshawott's (even though Oshawott was my least favorite at first!). Since then, Tepig's evolutions have grown on me and I will probably choose them for Black 2. I like Snivy too, but I just feel so turned off by him due to the people who obsessed over him x_x

Jellicent♀
May 2nd, 2012, 01:56 AM
My favorite should be obvious. :'D
Jellicent is amazing. Both genders have great designs, it's bulky by nature, has a nifty movepool, and it's a water type. That make everything better.

My LEAST favorite would have to Zoroark. Design is terrible, it has terrible hair, lack-luster movepool, sub-par stats; it's just bad.

My favorite Gen V Pokemon is Excadrill. It's hard to believe that a 2-foot tall Pokemon would have a massive 135 Attack. Under Sandstorm, courtesy of Sand Rush, it can outspeed and KO almost anything in sight.

I don't really like Garbodor. Its movepool sucks and it's ugly (no offense to Timbjerr of course).

In every way.

My fave Pokemon is Oshawott, it evolves into an incredible starter pokemon in Gen 5.
My least fave is Klink and Alomomola, Klink's evolutions are simple especially the final form were they combine the 1st and 2nd form and Alomomola's design is exactly the same design of Luvdisc, but with added fins on the top and bottom.

NObody likes Bidoof because his deign is bad, his stats are horrible, and he is only good for an HM Mule.

My favourite new Pokemon was Zoroark. Awesome Ability, cool design, decent stats, and overall awesomeness.

I wasn't really fond of the starters when I first saw em. But they grew on me. Especially Snivy.

I would have to agree with some in this thread!

That Conkeldurr is by far my fav! Granted, there are some seriously wicked designs in Gen V. I can understand many not liking them, but if Pokemon (as a genre) is to "Evolve" (no pun intended (or is it)), then so must the variety of Pokemon.

But anyways, Conk just looks SUPER imposing to me! I can just imagine him standing there saying "CONK SMASH!!!" (In his best Hulk immitation LoL)

As for my least favorite? Hmm, thats a good question... I am very open to new design. So i can't say i hated any. I thought Gothita was a bit aweful honestly. I named her Stripper and put her in my PC to collect dust and rot. And her evolutions? All they did was take the bra and multiply it.. Gothita has 1 bra, Gothorita has 2 and Gothitelle has 4.... I mean, come on now.. Seriously? If Pokemon had a brothel, it'd be infested with Gothorita's.. LOL Kinda poor taste IMO. Although im sure there's a group of young boy's out there with a Gothorita fan club! LOL

well Gothita and Gothorita are based on the Gothic lolita concept and Gothitelle based on the gypsy fortune teller

Well, while they may be bows. They were surely placed strategically enough, and shaped appropriately to be the other. Or then again my mind could just be too mature minded for its own good sometimes LOL

Considering they don't have any straps and have that big obvious middle knot then yes, I think this one is entirely your fault.

Well, unfortunately i am going to have to call you out on this one. There is definitely ZERO visibility of ANY form of a knot.

Nowhere does it show a knot. It shows the two oval shapes coming together.

My favs are a toss up between Liepard (reminds me of my Bengal cat haha!) and Deerling for the cutness and colour changing in the seasons.

I HATE Vanillite, Vanillish and Vanilluxe...I dont really appreciate having a pokemon that looks like an icecream :(

I hate most of the designs in 5th gen, but there are a few I kinda like. My favourite would have to be Oshawott, although I hate Dewott and Samurott. I also like Trubbish, but really really dislike Garbodor.

despite what most people say, i like all of the pokemon in 5th gen, but i will admit that they could have been made with a bit more care and a bit more effort, then we would have seen the true pokemon masters making their masterpiece!

Am i the only one that likes Garbodor? I don't agree with many non-animal Pokémon but this one i liked, just because of how creative it was! I mean sure, the movepool was a bit strange, but i loved it! If there had to be a pokemon i disliked, it'd have to be Druddigon, what a disappointment that was. It was just ugly...

Galvantula is amazing! STAB Thunder that's 91% accurate, plus it has a cool design (IMO).

Least favorite... I found Purrloin and Liepard to be pretty "meh" worthy. Just kinda forgettable.

I'm not really a fan of Gen V. BUT I absolutely love Accelgor's design. He is one cool mofo. Palpitoad is another favourite - I love the weird little head wobble animation he has in-battle. And Conkeldurr is awesome. Okay so there were some gems in G5.

As for least favourite... the Simi trio. Wtf, seriously? Fire monkey, grass monkey, water monkey? What were they trying to achieve there, exactly? Just... fail.

Very intrigued to see Gen VI, just for comedy value. I reckon it'll be quite funny. I laughed my head off when I saw Woobat and Swoobat. Good lord...

Also, am I the only one who likes Sigilyph?

Nope, Sygilyph is pretty cool xD

Least favorites: Can't think of any xD I used to dislike Watchog because how it looks, but now I think it's a an awesome Pokémon catcher (mean look + super fang + false swipe) and Basculin because it appears everywhere. However, I like to EV train my Pokémon these days, and often in speed, so I need Basculin to appear everywhere now. :P

I chose the Spring design because of the pink flowers. Lol.

Very simplistic, but at the same cute. Not fond of its evolutions at all, though.

Least favorites:

I'm okay with Oshawott, and Samurott is actually a very neat design, but this one? No... It's just... I don't know how to put it. Lame? Yes, that's the word: Lame.

Likewise, I feel the same about the monkey trio's final evolutions, as well as Tepig's evolutions.

Tornadus and the other legendaries like it aren't for me either.

And the evolution. A garbage bag? Come on, we want real pokemon.

Ughh gosh I despise so many pokemon in this game, but I guess Cryogonal. Just another stupid ice type(like we don't have enough of those already, sorry). Nothing unique about it, and its design is just awful.

I think I like Unfezant the least. Mainly because it was very sub-par in my run through. It had a poor movepool, and was never strong enough.

It was nothing compared to what Staraptor was in gen 4 who would be viable all game. :(

"Favorites" - Zoroark, Braviary, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Genesect

"Likable" - Krookadile, Cinccino, Sawsbuck, Haxorus, Bisharp, Bouffalant, Hydreigon, Mienshao, Liepard, Samurott, Serperior

"(Really) Don't Like" - Druddigon, Elemental Trio, Beartic (I wanted to see a polar bear based Pokemon, but that is exactly not what I had in mind), Klink-family line, Garbodor, Timburr-family line, & Tepig-family line.

Those people are blinded by nolstalga and can't except something different from their dear little game featuring a dragon that looks like Barney the dinosaur.

I can't really say my favourite Pokemon of this gen, but I cannot stand Kyurem and it's terrible formes. Why won't game freak leave good Pokemon like Zekrom and mutate it (or in this case, merging) into something that looks so unnatural.

If I have to pick one favorite, I'd have to say Keldeo! <3
But I love a LOT of Pokemon from gen 5, actually. I really like the diversity, and I really like how a good number of the Pokemon are based off of what you'd find in New York (some of the best ice cream, stray cats, pigeons, garbage bags littering the street, etc.).

The only design I can say I dislike off the top of my head is perhaps Watchog. Patrat is kind of cute, but something about Watchog's skinny little body and terrifying bloodshot eyes never appealed to me.

My favorite 5th Gen pokemon would be Samurott. Why? Because it hides a Big Freakin Sword in his armor, that's why.

My favorite's Gothorita. It's mostly because of it's design. Haven't been a big fan of Psychic Pokemon, so she and Kirlia are the only ones I like (and use). They did make me explore the type a bit, as I started using Alakazam in SoulSilver, mostly because the whole WTC was new to me and made me get the Pokemon who evolve after trading.

There aren't any Pokemon I dislike in that Gen, except for Cofagrigus, but that's just because I had a hard time against it because I didn't have good dark moves. As a Pokemon, I don't dislike it.

Swanna an Ducklette. The names are sooo complex. Must have taken them months to think of those >.>
I actually get that one immediately. Ducklett (correct spelling) is a Water Pokémon that evolves into Swanna. Think about the story of the Ugly Duckling here. Ducklett is the ugly, Swanna is the beautiful swan at the end of the story. Swanna has become my Flying Pokémon namely because it provides the water element for my team when I'm travelling, and that Water element is enhanced by Surf (yes, I gave it two perfect HM moves). While I don't have a specific favourite, Swanna is near the top.

Black was my first pokemon game (my parents didn't want me to know that pokemon existed) so I didn't have any real expectations so I like most of the designs, but my favorite are:
Serperior- It's my first pokemon ever and despite most my friends saying that you should get rid of starters thay all say that I should keep mine because it beasts.
Gigalith- It's was my first shiny and there is a funny story that goes along with it: I was in my algebra 2 class trying to get through victory road when a blue boldore appears. I lean over to my pokemon mentor (remember it was my first pokemon game. I was clueless) and say"Why is this boldore blue?". He starts flipping out saying "what the crap! Let me see!... No way it's a shiny!" I ask him whats a shiny and he explains how there is like a 1/800,000 chance in encountering one. He then proceeds to go around to everyone of his pokemon friends eachone giving oohs and awws while I'm just sitting there clueless to whats happening. Sorry for the long story, but I just never seen anyone flip out for one pokemon before.
Haxorus- I think it looks cool and it completely owns.
Now for the ones that I don't care for.
Gothitelle- It looks too human and just plain wierd.
Amoongus- Why does it have the pokeball on its head?
Simipour- It's just...creepy.
So those are my favorite and least favorite.

Nice story, but why were you playing Pokémon in Algebra class? Your teacher wasn't aware of your DS being shown to other people?

Gothitelle- It looks too human and just plain wierd.
I actually noticed that it looked like a beautiful woman wearing a dress. What makes this sad is that mine is male. I had to catch a female Gothita later to breed Miracle Eye into a Gothita Egg.

Amoongus- Why does it have the pokeball on its head?
Foongus too. They are meant to look like items in the Route, so they act like fake items. The design was intentional based on the appearance of an item on the Route.

I'm not much of a fan of Gen 5 myself, which I think I've mentioned a few times :P - so I don't have a lot in the favourites department.

Other mentions go to Archeops, Sawsbuck, Volcarona, Zebstrika, Meinshao and Keldeo.
I don't really like the Klink line, it just looks really boring design wise :u Beartic seems like a bit of a waste, it could've looked so much better I think.

I actually hate the constant criticism to 5th gen. It just doesn't make sense to me. Most just kind of seem to judge based of a few Pokemon especially considering that most the Pokemon are actually based off of animals and fantasy creatures while leaving only about 5 based off of objects. Besides, doesn't change the fact that we had Pokemon in 1st gen that was based off a pile of puke, eggs, and what species is voltorb again? Pokeball with eyes? You guys rip on 5th gen for having an icecream cone, well, I'm surprised it took Gamefreak this long to make a Pokemon based off of icecream!!! D:<

Eh, all joking aside. I have too many favorites from Gen 5. Serperior and Excadrill I believe are my personal favorites and my above all favorites. I'm that really strange reptile guy who would probably keep a pet snake if I could and when Seperior made it's appearance, I so had to have it! Moles are just so awesome and I'm so glad they finally got a Mole Pokemon correctly! xD I also like Emoga, all the other starters, Axew, Deerling, Reshiram, the musketeers legendary trio along with Keldeo, Minccinno, and I should probably slow down till I start naming off too many of them. ._.

As far as a least favorite. I think that vote goes towards Basculen or however you spell it. It just kind of feels like it's just kind of there, lazy design, and absolutely no use. Besides, never been a fan of fish Pokemon anyway (Unless it's Milotic.) ._.

I love Archeops! First Gen V Pokemon I got to level 100.
http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/bw/498.png
And my first starter, of course.

I dislike Watchog and the genies. Watchog because it's really annoying and the genies because they're pretty much copy/paste.

Oh wow, that must've been a challenge! In regards to Archeops, that is. I certainly couldn't get something with that ability to such a high level. tbh that kinda put me off liking Archeops, or using it even competitively because yeah it's a bird but it doesn't really have a great design and has a sucky ability. ;(

30k.

30k.The design of a Pokemon's sprite is almost more important to me than how strong they are or what their ability is. If I have a Pokemon that I hate the design of, it kind of ruins the game for me. I have to like the way they look. It took that into consideration when I was picking my first team. All but two of my Pokemon were caught early on in the game, but the next playthrough I do will have a lot of Pokemon from later in the game because now I know which ones I like and where to find them!

Reuniclus - Tough, check. Can 1hit easily, check.
Scrafty - E4 doombringer.

Liepard - Crappy stats, just fine at early game then starts to suck later on
Watchog - same as above
Pans and simis - unless you have a lot of evolution stones, these monkeys are not worth the rare stones....

Hm... I would have to say either Braviary, Chandelure, or Tornadus Theiran forme for my favorite Gen V Pokemon. Although I LOVE Sawsbuck, Ferrothorn Pidove (I have no good reason), Gigalith, and Serperior with so many close ones. I really like Gen V, contrary to what I see (many people I see just loathe this gen). There's many more I love, and I kept adding, but I think there's tons of great new designs.

I don't think I really hate much from this gen, to be honest. Alomolomola (sp?) is a pointless and easily forgotten Pokemon. I wish they kept it as the rumored Luvdisc evolution. Damirtan or however you spell it just seems... off to me. Like it's Infernape and Heatran put together. Semipour creeps me out a bit, too. This legendary trio is my least favorite so far, and Klang is unappealing to me. I like Kling, and Kling Klang, just not Klang.

I hate Sunfisk because it's purposely meant to look stupid and it's my only Gen V shiny. I never minded it until one day I was EV training and encountered a shiny one. Like really, out of all the shiny Pokemon I could get, I get the one that is purposely designed to look like an idiot. xD

Some of my favourites include Haxorus, Eelectross, Samurott, Scrafty, Jellicent, Ferrothorn, Krookodile and the likes. My least favourite would have to be, well quite a few actually, but a stand out is Watchog, really bad design imo.

I have a select few that I like in Gen5, but I curse Mr. Pixel for some of the trashy pokemons. My favorite would have to be either Maractus or Leavanny. I don't know why, but I love that funny Cactus Pokemon, I mean, a dancing cactus that sounds like maracas. I love the idea. And as for Leavanny, it's elegantly kick-ass with its type combo and can learn moves like poison jab despite being a bug-grass combo. And did I mention it's very elegant? It just looks awesome.
Least favorite= the legendaries. they're getting very overrated, but I HATE Audino. I know, it's so freakin' cute, but it can be annoying.

Oh lord, there are so many stupid looking Pokemon in the 5th generation, makes me mad for some reason xD
Anyways, I can't remember many from the top of my head, but I don't like the Timberr evolutions, they basically get bigger and carry bigger logs. Reminds me of the Machop evolution but in a bad way. Stunfisk looks pathetic too, it makes Magikarp look awesome(Magikarp IS awesome in my opinion).

Joltik is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I don't care if it's no good in competitive play. Even its Japanese name sounds silly.

Favorite: Cincinno
Least: Trubbish/Garbodor

Cincinno is one of those Pokemon that are incredibly cute but also fairly lethal in combat. Technician with Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast and Wake-Up Slap is awesome.

Trubbish and Garbodor... There are just so many of them. And really? Trash? I was fine with the floating ****ing Ice Cream cone, but trash? Come on Game Freak, really? And no, I'm not a nostalgia ***, I just honestly find their design to be incredibly stupid.

This isn't the weekly revival but it had the prefix before it died so it counts anyway yaayy!!!

So competitively I've been using Musharna quite a bit, but on an in-game level, I'm really interested in using Musharna whenever I reset Black. While I originally hated its design, its bulk is really good and it's better looking than Munna tbh. Musharna would probably be a bit better if it didn't have Munna either, too. Gurdurr is another one that slipped under the radar since originally I thought it just had an awesome name, but it has potential to be really good, despite being slow-ish, so I plan to use that too. Design isn't really everything and I'm interested to see how that'd go in-game too. Samurott, also, because it can be either physical and special and is really strong either way! Kind of wish I used it in-game instead of overlook it for the sexy Emboar, although design-wise Samurott is pretty well designed imo.

You mean Rufflet and Vullaby.

But yeah, design-wise I have to say that alongside the Oshawott line I also adore the Vanillite line for being cute and based on an ice-cream. There's just something I love about those Ice-types, even though their movepool is a bit lacking they do have impressive stats. Also, when I first saw Gothitelle I underestimated it at first, but its cry sounding like the Psycho shower music made me love it. Then I used one on my team, and it made an amazing member. I was even impressed by Jellicent's good capabilities in battle, I often switch the movesets on my two Jellicent so I can try both defensive and offensive sets. Unova had such impressive Pokemon that really showed potential for me.

Volcarona was another one I tried out, and it actually did a good job with Quiver Dance. Same goes for Lilligant, I thought she was terrible due to her shallow movepool but at least she has the stats. Darmanitan and Emboar were also heavy hitters and I have to say, the Fire Pokemon in Unova are pretty tough, which was something I was always looking for in Fire-types. Whimsicott is also a good threat on the defensive spectrum with all those status moves to abuse Prankster.

The only ones I particularly hated were the Trubbish line and Stunfisk. Their designs were just gross.

But I have to say each of the starters really went with my playing style, despite what most people think about them. I've heard of people ditching their starter cos of bad stats but I worked in sync with them well, especially the Oshawott line due to being able to run mixed sets. This was apparently why the Oshawott line became my favorites.

Rufflet/Bravairy and Vullaby/Mandibuzz?

Anyway, competitively Volcarona has been used heavily on my team lately! Its great with Quiver Dance and Fiery Dance, I can inflict massive damage. But actually, I run a defensive set. 240 HP, 216 Def and 50 Spe. When people don't have a counter and just have to slowly wipe away my health, I have Roost to meake her a real pain. Real great Pokemon.

GolurkIsDaBomb
November 10th, 2012, 10:32 PM
Let's see...

For favorites, Golurk is/was awesome. Awesome design, awesome ability (not talking about you klutz) and awesome moves. It was the strongest pokemon on my team when I used it. And who doesn't like a giant robot who can fly. I mean, come on!

Another pokemon I really liked was Leavanny. I love bug and grass types, and my Leavanny was really strong! And then a damn Stoutland killed her. :(

Which brings me to my next favorite, Stoutland! I love how it hits like a train, and it's one of the first pokemon you can get when starting off the game. It's so strong, learns some awesome moves, and is just overall amazing!

As for ones that I hate... to be honest, I don't really hate any pokemon. I kind of respect them all, because I've learned that many are better than I thought they would be. That being said, I'm not a very big fan of Zebstrika. I found it to be surprisingly weak, which was annoying. I also have a vendetta against Sigilyphs. Because they always make my pokemon faint! And that makes me really want to use one someday!

My favourites...Lilligant and Volcarona. I love the designs for both - Lilligant is a more elegant and less painfully cutesy version of Bellossom, which I also like, and Volcarona is Mothra in Pokemon form, and it's quite a powerhouse as well. Sigilyph is quite a fun wacky thing that I liked as well, if only for how different it is.

As for my least favourites...everything else, if I'm honest. I didn't really care for the fifth generation on the whole; the designs weren't really any worse than any past gen, but they just didn't click for me, and I was indifferent to most of them. Picking out one I disliked any more than the others would be difficult, because I was apathetic to pretty much everything else.

For me Gothitelle, Lilligant, and Golurk. Gothitelle was a better Pokemon than I expected, the variety of moves, plus learning powerful moves at a low level. I loved using mine. Lilligant is pretty, and has good moves as well. I usually am not a grass type fan, but this one was just perfect. Golurk can fly, and is definately my favorite ground type.

My least favorite is Snivy. I tried using him once, hated his moveset, really. I thik he's ok, but I don't think he's good for battle.

Yeah, I had the same experience here. I underestimated the Gothitelle line at first but it actually did a good job for my team thanks to getting Psybeam right off the bat. It even gets Psychic not too late of a level and Gothitelle's cry reminds me of Psycho.

Its Frisk ability combined with Thief was helpful when hunting items. I was actually proud of my Gothitelle and it quickly became a favorite for me.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Snivy. I've used Serperior in-game and it wasn't as great compared to the other two starters, plus I really dislike its name, which I have since the start lmao. Then there's design wise... it's just the least appealing (its whole evolution line, that is!)

November 26th, 2012, 01:16 AM
Either way, my favourite was Herdier partially because of the design/partially because of how it sounds as well as partially because it was a dog, lol. Everything about it is awesome tbh.

Really? In my opinion, them placing a dog as a pokémon was pretty thoughtless. You can notice the little effort they put into the fifth generation.

So it is kind of hard for me to name my favourite fifth gen pokémon, but I have to say I found several of them a little cute, like Whimiscott, Audino and Minccino. Oh, and Serperior. He was cool.
My least favourite have to be Cofagrigus, Tirtouga and Vullaby.

Favorites..?

Lilligant, oh so much. She's the only permanent member of my current lineup who's from Gen V (the other one from Gen V, Hydreigon, I sometimes switch out). Hell, I like to think of her as the team mom. Hydreigon for that matter isn't bad, and I tend to partner him up with my Garchomp whenever I do PWT. Zoroark isn't bad either, even if he's a bit too squishy for my tastes.

Unfavorites..? Basculin (even MORE common than Magikarp, who could at least evolve into something usable), Watchog ('nuff said), Druddigon (same), Garbodor (everyone else already said it) and Foongus/Amoongus (Y U PARALYZE/POISON MY GIBLE D8<)

Whimsicott has to be my favorite. I always catch one for my 5th generation playthroughs. Prankster and Stun Spore have helped me out a lot against Gym Leaders and even the Elite Four. Not to mention it's extremely cute.

My least favorites were originally the Klink family. I thought they were unimaginative and ugly. Then, ironically, the first Shiny I encountered in Black 2 was a shiny Klink. Since then I've warmed up to them.

So now my least favorite is Alomomola. I'm very disappointed that it didn't turn out to be a Luvdisc evolution. :/

Favourites would have to be Foongus and Sewaddle, I freaking love both of those Pokémon so much <3 They're so cute and adorable and quirky and omg I want them. Sewaddle evolves into such a cool and powerful Pokémon whilst still remaining rather cute and incredibly quirky whereas Foongus - well, just look carefully at it's animated sprite and you'll see exactly why I love it so much lmao. As for least favourites, hmm... Cryogonal, Pansear, Panpour, Klink, Klang, Klinklang, Crustle, Accelgor, Shelmet, Vanillite, Vanillish, Vanilluxe, Chandalure, Throh, Sawk, Genesect, Meloetta, Oshawott, Patrat, Watchog, Stoutland, Frillish, Basculin, Alomomola, etc etc etc. Basically I wasn't a fan of most Gen V Pokémon. xD

Least favorite is easy - Watchog. It's this generation's Raticate - just powerful enough and with just the right (wrong) attacks to be a pain in the butt to battle, which you have to do all too much, but not powerful enough to actually be worth having on a team.

Favorite is tough though - I like a lot of the pokemon from this gen.
Cinccino particularly stands out. It's a cute design, and with either Technician or Skill Link, it's actually pretty fearsome in combat.
Leavanny's a good one too - probably the best Bug/Grass ever, and with a great design.
I really like Reuniclus too. It looks cool, and it hits like a truck. Well... a psychic truck... like... thing.
Sigilyph is an awesome design, and Magic Guard is an awesome ability.
Scraggy is great. Scrafty's the better fighter, of course, but I love Scraggy's design.
Mienshao is everything I always dreamed about for a fast, fragile fighter, and its movepool is perfect.
Chandelure of course. I saw someone else somewhere say that it's like carrying a nuclear bomb around with you, and that's not far off the mark.
Excadrill is a monster. I liked Drilbur and kept one in my party because it was cute, but I sort of expected it to end up like this gen's Diglett/Dugtrio, and boy was I wrong.
Frillish is a great design and a great typing. I was a bit disappointed in Jellicent's design though. It's okay, but I really like Frillish better.
Thinking of that - I think Petilil is one of the cutest pokemon ever, full stop. And Lilligant is actually surprisingly dangerous.
Golett and Golurk are awesome in all possible ways - design, abilities, movesets, typing, everything.
And Braviary and Haxorus and Hydreigon and Stoutland and Beheeyem and Krookodile and Cofagrigus and Bisharp and Sawsbuck and Scolipede and.... pretty much everything but Watchog...

My favorite in Gen V pokes will be Bisharp. He's a complete Badass! And just look at that design, Power Rangers! *Comes to mind the scene where power rangers beats the bad guys and this monsters explodes and power rangers will make a pose*. Though I rarely use him competitively, I just really like his design.

Hated Stunfisk the most. I mean, Just why gamefreak?

My favorite is definitely Volcarona. I love both Fire-types and Bug-types, and it's a beast in battle. Its design is nice, too- and it's a lot of fun to draw! Other favorites of mine are Galvantula, Kyurem, Scolipede, Genesect, and Sigilyph.

If I had to choose a least favorite, I'd have to say either the 3 elemental monkeys or Sawk/Throh. I'm not a huge fan of monkeys to begin with, and I've never had good luck with them in battle. Sawk and Throh are kind of good, but I'm not a fan of their designs at all.

Favorite: Genesect, it's an insecticon that's the love child of Soundwave and Shockwave. Its movepool is great too.

Least Favorite: Scrafty, it's not bad Pokemon, but my deep hatred towards the group this Pokemon is based off of prevents me from using it due to my horrible experience with these people back in middle school and high school.

My favorite: Braviary. Doesn't matter that there's already a gajillion bird Pokemon. Braviary is just so awesome. And he's based off an eagle. 'Murica! >:3

Least Favorite: Now the list for this is expansive... But if I have to choose just one; Vanillite. I despise it. And its evolutions are even more unoriginal... Let's take an ice cream cone and add a scoop... TA-DA! Evolved form! ......No.

My favorite would have to be Haxorus, closely followed by Chandelure. I like Haxorus because it is a really powerful dragon, with crazy attack. I also like his design, and his shiny form. I chose Chandelure because it is also very powerful, with one of the highest special attack stats ever. Not only that, but it is a ghost type, my favorite type.

Least favorite would be Palpitoad and its previous form, Tympole. To me, Tympole looks like they barely put any effort into its design. A smiley face with a tail. I also dislike Palpitoad because it just looks weird. My first reaction when I saw it and its animation was "wut."
But I am fine with its final form, Seismitoad.

I'm actually more impressed with this generation's designs then I have been with Pokemon in a long, long time. Part of the reason I stopped watching the Anime was because the pokemon were getting a little odd.
