Well, its official that DDR is coming to the GCN, and with Mario no less!

I'm excited because there are only too games I want a PS2 for, and now that's been shortened to just one. I am however, a little worried. I'm hoping it's not all Mario music. Some of it would be great, but not all.

And..I mentioned this in the DDR thread before.

Knowing Nintendo, they're probably gonna take out ALL the good songs and replace them with overly used retro-nintendo themes...geez...They have to go and kill DDR :(:(

But I hear that it's actually Bemani that's making the game, so it might not be so bad. They just have to make it a DDR game with Mario on the side, not a Mario game with DDR on the side.

Crap, screw mario, I'd rather just have DDRMAX on my gcn ;)

The preview I read in AtomicMPC said it would be an even mix of DDR staples and Nintendo Favourites, all with the N64 animated plumber in the background dancing as you do.

...so what? o_O; It's still DDR. Just be happy it's finally spread to all the consoles (X-Box has a version... right?) This way EVERYONE can enjoy it instead of spending tons of money for arcade playtime or needing to own another console. So maybe it won't have the best selection of music... and maybe it will. It's not like some of the dancers in the background of the original DDR are the greatest. XP Maybe you can turn him off anyway. *Shrugs* I'm looking forward to it. :D (Although maybe not the price since you'll probably have to buy the dance pad with it -- I don't want two down there. XD;)

Yeah, I'll have to get one, but it'll be annoying to have one that's only compatible with the GCN. I'd rather be able to use the one I have now or use the new one on other consoles as well. =\ That way I could actually do VS or double properly. xD;

Judging by the unknowing post, you apparently have never played DDR to it's extent.

Heh, seeing as me and Sawah are the only real DDR conousiers here (I know I spelled that wrong) you wouldn't really understand. DDR brings a sense of nostalgia, and we like our DDR a certain way. You'd have to really play the game since the beginning to understand.

You know how when your on the computer and all those annoying pop-up ads come up, you wish you could just have the internet pop-up free? That's how I feel about DDR with Mario. Can't I just have DDR with out the mario?

I agree, Mario was never in none of the original mixes and and nor should he be included in the GCN title. DDR is fine how it is and should not be altered, now a great mix of songs would be nice, all the various hits, and no nintendo music, only ddr artists.

Well your right i'm not a hardcore DDR fan.Simply because it never came to the Gamecube so I couldn't buy it.And I usually don't go to arcades.I don't think this game will ruin DDR because it's not like they'll make another DDR for PS2 and it will have Mario in it.And hopefully they'll make another DDR game for Gamecube (like they did with PS2) without Mario.I figure they used Mario in this game because most Nintendo fans like Mario (such as me) and will buy it for that reason.You know to attract a crowd that the original game might not appeal too.But really Dakota, I want to become a hardcore DDR fan.

I guess this is good news. The only time I get to play DDR is at either my m8s house or at the arcades. Will be nice having DDR for myself & on the GCN no less. I'm a little worried about the fat guy appearing though. Scary stuff.
