If Nintendo wanted to make Umbreon better, they would have given it a wider range of defensive moves to benefit its extensive defences. Espeon has good stats forn attacker, and looks nicer IMO. MCD's vote goes to Espeon ^_^

Yes, he is but so is Absol and it can learn elemental attacks. Like DBA said before a nice percent of normal and some dark(Umbreon, Absol) can learn not just dark type attacks but elemental attacks as well. If I'm wrong about that then sorry.

It has abilitys such as one weakness., two types that don't effect it, rock and steel poke'mon most of the time can get hurt more by dark, it isn't not very effective in other words, and then it can learn psychic attacks to get rid of fighting type threats.

I'll have to say that I much prefer Espeon to Umbreon. I never really did like the idea of "Dark" Pokémon. . . . In my opinion, Espeon is more graceful and sophisticated--Umbreon is still graceful, don't get me wrong, but I've just always been a fan of the more sophisticated and elegant style Pokémon (hence, Ninetales in my username and avatar).

Though in battle, I find them both to be useful--I use them both in Silver Version. It seems like they are both opposites on everything: the time that they change from Eevee into one or the other (incidentally, I nicknamed my Espeon "Sunrise" and my Umbreon "Midnight"), their types, and their battle techniques. Espeon is strong on offense, while Umbreon is strong on defense. Interestingly enough, they both have their own healing moves (Espeon has Morning Sun, Umbreon has Moonlight). Espeon can finish a battle quickly and sometimes make it through without a scratch, while Umbreon can stay in battle and finish everything slowly, still coming out with a lot of HP. It really just depends on your preference--what you think looks best, and what your battle style is (if you play the video game, that is).

I laugh at people who think Umbreon combats fighters with Psychic. Yeah, maybe ingame it can, but not in a real battle. Its special attack is very low.

Anyways, I hate 'em both. One, I dislike Eevee and its neo eeveelutions (the kanto ones are all right), two, they're overrated and everywhere in fiction and art (especially Umbreon), and three is that I dislike them in battling... Umbreon is too defensive and slow and Espeon is too limited.

Oh yeah, and Umbreon can't learn many elemental attacks. Like the other eons, it's very limited.
