Yet Another New User...! ;-)

Hi all!

I'm thunderhawk, I'm just a simple guy from Flanders, Belgium.
When the Pokemon franchise first came to Belgium, Ash and I had the same age! How cool was that...
Anyway, I grew up with the Red/Blue games and the Gold/Silver/Crystal games. I watched the anime from the Kanto saga to the Orange Islands saga to the Johto saga till the broadcasters in Belgium decided at the beginning of the Johto saga to restart from the beginning...

Anyway, a couple of years back I played Ruby on an emulator and just recently played FireRed on the emulator.
I'm studying applied information technology and I have to build a game from scratch using JavaFX 2.x. So here I am!

I'd like to build a game with a pokemon-style overworld and mazes and I'll see where it develops from there.
I've never programmed an extensive GUI, or anything comparable to a game, so I'm here to learn and contribute to some of the projects here. I'm sure there are Java-based projects here on the website, I'll still have to look around to find them however. This site is big!

So that's why I'm here. I'm here to contribute to the community, contribute to the projects in the Game Development section of the board and learn while doing so!

Ok, I'm going to read some more stickies now! ^^

I've seen it a couple of times now... What is VM actually?
And what is B2W2?

I'm sorry if they're silly questions...

A 'VM' stand for Visitor Message. U can stop by someone's profile page & leave a VM. Then, 'PM' is for Private Message. It's like VM but you can only store up to 150 PMs & they are in private.

B2W2 is for Black & White 2, get it? I'm a huge fan & proud to be one.

Any questions, read the Rules (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=6446812), FAQ (http://www.pokecommunity.com/faq.php) & ask any mods (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showgroups.php).

See ya.

I'm so jealous to hear that you're from Belgium! It's one of those places I've always wanted to visit, I'm such a traveler at heart. >:

We have a great Emulation/Game Development section here, so I'm sure you'll find what you need to get started on your game. As I'm sure you can tell, those sections are quite active and are one of the things PC is known for. :] You seem like you'll fit in perfectly here, hope to see you around the forum! Do contact a moderator (bold blue name) if you need help and enjoy your stay~

^ same here! xD

Great to meet ya, thunderhawk, and great to see ya @ #pokemonclubs! (Honestly I am quite surprised that you recognized me as Meloetta!). As I said at the chat, I'm Meganium and I'm the mod here! I see you're interested in game development, is that correct? MidnightShine has linked you the Game Development section where you can showcase your idea and get help & advice on it, as well as download the programs you need to decorate the game. :)

You can always ask me any questions if you have any, I'm always around! I hope to see ya around the forums then! :D
