Alot of people do when they first start out, but it's just really how many times you've helped somme one really.Or how many times you've given an opinion.

Like would you count how many times you've said something in real life?
I don't really care that much about posts though, just the quality of them.

Not really cause im talking about all posts in general.

January 23rd, 2005, 12:08 PM
I sorta do^^; It's kinda fun to see the people that have higher post then you, and then be able to pass them or something.

January 23rd, 2005, 12:10 PM
Post counts are nice.It shows how active you are.

January 23rd, 2005, 12:11 PM
No, not really...But I guess the rep is more important... I have lost of posts...

I've had some experience passing about every member till I got on 3rd place....until I lost 2000 of my post that is. XD

As for the question...I USED to care about it...utterly. XD

January 23rd, 2005, 12:20 PM

I don't really care about post counts.it's not like they are gonna make you mod or anything just because you have heaps of posts.

I don't care about posts, but its fun when you pass someone. Like it was when I pass Britt and then Satoshi.. Before that was Jeremy, but yeah I rather have a system of no posts, and rather one that has about the quality of the member.

January 23rd, 2005, 2:53 PM
Now, not really... Before, yes. o.o; I care about what kinds of posts that I'm making...

(And why do threads with such similar topics keep popping up? o.x; )

*shrugs* Nope. I don't really care. :3 I care about the number of friends I make.

January 23rd, 2005, 6:06 PM
I don't really care, but it gives you something to do, try to get to be the person with the most posts X3

January 23rd, 2005, 6:10 PM
Ever since I lost 3000 posts, no, not really =/

January 23rd, 2005, 6:18 PM
eh, a little because post count usally = popularity around here.

January 23rd, 2005, 8:44 PM
Nope, I honestly say I don't care about post count at all. If I did care, I'd probably post a lot more than I do know... considering I rarely post at all anymore.

January 23rd, 2005, 8:52 PM
I did care a little bit about post count. I was pretty angry when I lost 105 or so of my posts...I had about 280 at that time when they deleted my posts(not spam, mind you, it seems many people lost their posts.)
But now, I don't care. I just noticed that I had made my 200th post somewhere, but I didn't even care to locate that:P.

January 23rd, 2005, 8:53 PM
I do cause i see people with like 2000+ and they look at me like i am a noob

January 23rd, 2005, 8:59 PM
Uh, what Bunny said.

Corrupt... that's only egotists, etc. that do that... n00bs are n00bs...

LI3K I HAVE 2000+ POSTS AND I'M A N0000000000000000000000000B!

January 23rd, 2005, 9:28 PM
Not at all. I'll post something where I see I can partake in the activity. I don't even know the number of posts I have unless I look at it.

Passing someone in post counts in my situation = cool. Well its becoming a problem since its been 1 whole year and i still have 800 or something. XD

Nah, I don't really care. But it's useful to beat boredom, like you try to make yourself gain another 50 posts before the end of the day or something.

January 24th, 2005, 2:31 AM
I do. My sis is joined toa message board that shows the top twenty amount of posts. I
wish tis website has something like that

January 24th, 2005, 5:25 AM
Before it was cool to see if you could reach 2000, 2500 etc. But after I lost like 1200 XD, I don't mind it, but its the least thing on my mind.

January 24th, 2005, 5:34 AM
The only reason I care is because when I see people with thousands of posts and I realise I only have 140 it makes me feel so noobish:P . Plus I like to try to get alot of posts in everyday, as you can make new friends just by posting something helpful:classic:

January 24th, 2005, 5:45 AM
Not really, no. I just use it to let me know moreorless if I'm active or not. I don't use it as a status, and I don't think others should either.

January 24th, 2005, 6:01 AM
It took me about 6 months to realize that, on the new PC, postcounts were displayed on the posts. Somehow I always missed them when looking. XD; Never bothered me, though. I now only use my postcount as a measure of how active I am. For example, I'll look at my postcount and tell myself that I can't stop posting that day until I have a certain number of posts just to keep my activity up and stuff. XP Plus, it's fun to see when I'm at a nice round number (like 6000, which is my next, I think. o_O) That's it, though. o_o Otherwise it's just a number.

I notice people because of the quality of their posts. ^_^; I could honestly care less about a little number in the corner.

January 24th, 2005, 9:20 AM
Meh, the only thing I worry about here at PC is making friends, hanging out, and helping others. To me, post count is just a bunch of numbers under my username along with all that other junk down there. XD Same goes for reputation points. I like the pretty green buttons, but other than that I'm not about to spaz over the whole deal. XD

January 24th, 2005, 9:38 AM
No, not really...But I guess the rep is more important... I have lost of posts...

Man.. you must be kidding --;

anyways, yup! xD, i do care about my postcount, it has a job of its own to record all ya posts, so it really has a job xD

I like post counts. It's a really nice feature, for me I use it as a reference tool.

January 25th, 2005, 5:47 PM
Im excited now cause ive nearly done 100 but I probably wont in the future

January 25th, 2005, 6:07 PM
Of course I care about my post count. =/

I notice people a lot more by their post count, I could care less about reps. And besides, I'm always trying to compete with others when it comes to post counts. But I have only lousy dial-up, I can make much posts. =/

*gets killed by mob*

January 26th, 2005, 12:05 AM
I don't really care about how much I have posted, I didn't even notice when I hit my first 1,000 posts. I just post alot 'cause I think it's fun and I love to talk with my friends here^^

January 26th, 2005, 2:24 AM
Yay!!!!!!!!! getting closer...

January 26th, 2005, 2:59 AM
Ok now that I think about it..
Most people truly care about their post counts mainly because they know that people with higher post count, even especially 5000 posts higher will judge them by their post count and think they have power over them. Yes, many people do that and admit it. :P
Postwise, caring about your post count a little bit is better than not caring about it at all. PC is not about impressing others or going with someones opinion because they have a higher post count. And from my history of browsing PC and see alot of young members using the opinion of an older member thats been here longer for them to think they look smart and impress people. Im not pointing fingers here or anything. Just try to stick to your own wits.^^;

January 26th, 2005, 2:09 PM
I used to, but when I lost 700 posts in my old account, I cared less. Though I still enjoy upping my post count so I can be proud of the number I have. ^^
