View Full Version : Waking Up

Some of us do actually wake up early. So do you guys have any trouble getting out of bed? Do you use an alarm clock, or clocks, to wake you up? Anyone wake up to any cool ringtones? :P

I am NOT!! a morning person. I hate to be disturbed and only get up early for school(2 days a week) and to watch the games on Saturday. I sleep in all other times and wake up when I please.

I am NOT!! a morning person.

That makes two of us. The only day that I'll ever be able to get up in a timely fashion is on a Saturday, & that's because of two things: the Pokémon animé, & the alarm on my watch. For the rest of the week, getting up is a struggle, as I feel like I need a crowbar to pry myself out of bed, literally. It's even gone so far as me having to take some sleep aids.

Also, on some occasions, my body conspires to get me up prematurely, adding salt on a wound, so to speak.

When I have to wake early, I take sometime to get out of bed. Especially if it's for school or somewhere I hate going. It usually takes me a few times of waking up and falling back asleep before I get out of bed cause I realize I could be late. If I'm going somewhere I want to, it takes less time to get out of bed.

I wake up fairly early on some days. Sometimes I wake up at 7 AM, but usually at 8 AM. That's not TOO early, but when I wake up... I'm up. I'm not walking around tired all day or drowsy. I might wake up cranky and tired, but it really only takes me a few minutes to wake up.

November 7th, 2012, 9:51 PM
I almost almost always get up to my alarm. I can probably count the amount of times I've slept through it on one hand, and I've always miraculously never been late because of it. Once I'm up, I usually get out of bed. If I have a few spare minutes, I may sleep longer, but usually I don't.

The problem is, how tired do I feel when I get up? :p

I'm terrible at getting up before 10 am on a day that I have nothing planned. On days I do I'm up and dressed by 8 am.

November 8th, 2012, 2:37 AM
I'm pretty okay with waking up early, with or without alarms. I wake up at around six in the morning, and I'm already used to it. Although if I have the chance to sleep until noon, that would be great.

I'm just like you Talli, I often end up waking up late on days that I don't have work.

My average waking time is between 9-10am, but earlier if I have work that day.

I have never been a morning person. The days when i don't have to do anything i'll probably sleep till 10-11 AM.

My waking-up moments are very, very weird. Some days, I wake up at 5 or 6, feeling like I've had the best sleep of my entire life. I then decide it's too early and fall back asleep, waking later at 10, feeling like I haven't slept in centuries. == Does anyone feel the same way??

Not counting the above, I'm almost a no-morning person. Without alarms, I usually wake up after 10 and occasionally this goes up to about 1 pm. Yeah. I'm cool like that. ><

November 8th, 2012, 3:14 AM
I have no alarm clocks or anything to wake me up yet I do either at 4:40-5:39.

November 8th, 2012, 10:04 AM
I have no trouble waking up because I'm a light sleeper and I always hear my alarm. What I have trouble with is being awake. Mornings when I have to get up for work are usually me going around with my eyes half-open and unable to form human words for an hour. I hate getting up in the morning.

Early bird gets the worm. I'm up pretty early each day, body is just used to it now really.

This to a certain extent. In generally wake up early but it takes many times of me waking up and falling back asleep before I'll get out of my bed, or couch in some cases.

I have no sleeping pattern. My job and school all come together to make it so I get up at different hours every day. I just wish it was static except for weekends, but I won't be getting that for a while.

That's so specific haha, and not to mention an hour difference.

Oh yeah I'm totally a morning person, usually get ready for work and all that in a minute flat lol.

November 8th, 2012, 12:56 PM
I used to need an alarm clock to get me up at 4am for work...those days were not pleasant. That's the only time I've ever needed to use an alarm clock, though; I'm something of a morning person, and I've got a fixed sleeping schedule. My body knows when it's time for me to get up, although my brain usually protests.

November 8th, 2012, 1:06 PM
I use an alarm clock to wake myself up normally, but I sometimes get up on my own accord. If I do that, I tend to get a bit drowsy for a few minutes at first, then become more alert as time passes by.

I pretty much need an alarm clock to wake up early or I wil sleep in. I have a lot of trouble dragging myself out of bed ^^;

November 8th, 2012, 2:25 PM
Working nights has really messed up my sleep schedule (many times I don't get home until close to midnight), so I absolutely hate getting up early in the morning. If I don't have an alarm set, I'll sleep through right into the afternoon, so I set my alarm to 10:30-11:00 even on days that I have off, just so I don't waste my entire day sleeping.

November 8th, 2012, 4:05 PM
I use an alarm clock. Most of the time I set it about 3 hours early so I know I have more time to sleep, though, haha.
I have trouble getting up most of the time in general, just because I'm lazy and lethargic.

I'm not a morning person, I can be, but that is only if it is during school. Otherwise, I'm not that great at waking up early, I will just roll over and then the cycle repeats. Alarm clocks don't work out to well for me.

When I am on a schedule I will wake up without a alarm, which I think is pretty cool. The music seems to annoy me in the morning.

November 8th, 2012, 8:45 PM
I wake up automatically. I normally wake up 6am everyday so whenever its 6am, I wake up. There's also my grandfather's birds, which are extremely noisy and wake me up.

November 8th, 2012, 10:59 PM
I used to wake up whenever I felt like it, but since I started school again, I got an alarm, and have been waking up at 8:30-9:00.

November 9th, 2012, 6:49 AM
I don't remember the last time I have been consistent in how I wake up. Sometimes I'm rolling around in bed not wanting to get up. Sometimes I wake up and just ready to get out of bed and sometimes I wake up but I'm groggy and don't feel good. Think it just depends on how much sleep I get and the conditions around it like weather, etc etc.

November 9th, 2012, 8:15 AM
i always slept in the mornings sometimes afternoon but since i got the job i'm forced to sleep earlier so i go to sleep about 2 am after midnight..much better

i hate alarms,i just ask my friend to call me so i wake up as she goes with me to the same work..i'm a light sleeper afterall.

I go to bed late, and wake up early. Sometimes I have trouble getting up, and other times I really don't. It really depends on the day.

November 9th, 2012, 12:55 PM
I don't have an amount of time because it varies, but I do have problems getting out of bed if it's early. Trying to wake up without an alarm clock? Nope, not happening. Morning person, no. Always been a night owl.

And even with the alarm, if I feel like I can sneak in a few more moments' of sleep, I will. Usually it's not bad enough that I'll fall right back asleep and dream about getting up a few times before I actually do (has happened a few times to me), but...waking up is definitely not a fast process for me.

November 9th, 2012, 1:05 PM
I wake up at 7 and hit snooze from 30 minutes to an hour until I finally decide to drag myself out of bed.

Not a morning person. Even if its 10 in the morning, I want to stay and sleep. Getting up is a process for me, I always use the snooze button when I need to wake up at like 8 for class.

November 9th, 2012, 1:35 PM
I am not a morning person at all. I need 8-9 hours of sleep to feel fully rested, and only then do I feel fine waking up early in the morning.

But who wants to go to bed before 10-11 pm?

I always struggle in the morning hours, I'm not a morning person at all. When I do have to wake up early I require an alarm clock, or have someone wake me up early.

November 9th, 2012, 7:35 PM
I'm no morning person and sometimes I stay up past 1 am when I shouldn't. Whenever I do, waking up the next day is brutal for me - and after 10. I should start setting my phone alarm for a more reasonable time, but every time I do, the cycle repeats itself.

I need a job so I can get into a routine xD

Well considering i sleep in the living room due to bed issues, I have people to wake me up...then I'll just go back to sleep in a different location.

November 12th, 2012, 4:04 AM
It's too hard to woke up for me. I need an Alarm. If I don't have an Alarm then I'll late for school. :3

I wake up whenever I feel like it... and then my inclination is to pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep. It takes several times through this cycle for me to actually wake up, unless I have some reason (i.e., appointment, shopping trip) to wake up.

I don't use alarm clocks like I did in college, but back then one trick I used to wake me up is to place the clock across the room so I'd have to get up to hit snooze. Didn't work 100% of the time, but it worked often enough so I wasn't late for class that many times...

My brother wakes me up around 8 am. That's the time he wakes up and I am a really light sleeper, and for some reason he makes a lot of noise after he wakes up so I naturally wake up from the noise he causes. I always set an alarm before the time I feel I should wake up just to be on the safe side, because I sleep a lot for some reason and I'm paranoid that I'll oversleep and cause me to be late to wherever I have to go.

I'm not a morning person.
My routine begins with me dragging myself out of bed after someone wakes me up (I've been woken up in some pretty odd ways, including having a live rat placed on my face). I get up and stumble through my bedroom to turn my snake's daytime heat lamp on. Then I wander downstairs where I will remain semiconscious until I eat breakfast. :T
