Do you think nintendo would come up with a trading device so that u could trade pkmn from the old games into either R/S or diamond or pearl?

I highly doubt that they will develop a trading system between these two games because they are on two different game systems.

actually, it's possible that the diamond and pearl versions will have compatibility with the ruby/sapphire/emerald/fire red/leaf green versions by means of trading pokémon, thanks to the gba cartridge port of the ds, and how the ds can interact with certain gba games plugged into that port, depending on the ds game being played.

There is no communication solution from the DS that can make this possible (yet).

Bad Pikachu, I thought the GBA port didn't work for GBC games. If it did, that would be really cool :D I don't think they'll make a trading device because they are trying to create a new game that has all you'll ever want, so why would you need to trade with crystal if you could catch all those pokemon on pearl? (because you trained them and named them and stuff thats why, and you don't want to restart! pffft.)

corinnepkmn, the Nintendo DS GBA port doesn't support Game Boy Color or earlier games, Bad Pikachu never said anything about GBC in his post. :\
