Evening Gents, Soma here! (No, not the bra company, they started after I did.) I've recently gotten back into Pokemon, and I do it with a passion (not the 'mons, guys).
I've already completed a few challenges
Duo Species: Starmie + OmaStar
Ultimate Monotype: Starmie + OmaStar
(Yes, the same playthrough)
Now, I'm on for my biggest challenge,
The Combined Pokemon Solo Challenge!
Starring Lady, my Lapras.
I'm also making a splash in Pokemon Showdown's NU tier battling, and having a blast doing it.
After my first run with Lady, I'll post and stream parts of it via Twitch and Youtube.
My motherboard is broken, so I haven't been posting videos lately (doing this on my phone).

Heya Soma, welcome to PC 'kay! Great to meet you~
A challenges lover, awesome! :) You'll find lots of those around here and I'm glad you already found the Challenges board. There are plenty there to sign up for and keep you interested so be sure to keep on participating! Sounds like you're a dedicated challenges lover though, a person that dedicated would probably easily fit in over there. My latest monotype was a normal monotype in Silver but that was maaany months ago.. about time for me to participate in another! Lapras sounds like a fun Pokemon to tackle a challenge with, it's really diverse with both its offenses and defenses.
And hey, as a battler you totally need to check out the Battle Center (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=234) board. NU seems to be our preferred tier of choice so you'll find a lot of others willing to participate in some NU battles with you. We also have our very own Pokemon Showdown server; go explore the battle forum and take a peek at the information thread! It's our most active off-site chat so you're going to have a blast there for sure. :D; You can also stop by the Video Games (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27) board to discuss games other than Pokemon and post your YouTube videos if you wish. It's got a neat Let's Play subforum meant for this kind of thing and we encourage members to put a link to their channel in their signature or post their videos over there rather than advertising elsewhere.
But ugh, it must have been tough to post this on your phone. Or maybe that's just me though, my phone has a touch keyboard and I find that to be very very annoying. More annoying than I can put into words.
Hope you have a great time here, Soma! Let me know through profile message if I can assist you in some way, I'd love to help. Our other moderators are around anytime as well. n~n

Thanks for the warm welcome, Cirno, I'm glad to be here!
You're right, by the way, Lapras is a very difficult pokemon to raise, with it's a 1 & 1/4 mil exp at lvl. 100, moderate typing, and subpar early gen Movepool, it's definitely a challenge, but I'll be damned if I don't see it through.

Hey there! Welcome to PC Soma!
Neat you're into challenges. Personally I've been trying to start a challenge on my FireRed once I restart it. There's still many things I want to do on it though. >.< But once I get around to finishing everything, I was thinking of doing a Nuzlocke or monotype challenge. Scramble challenge sounds fun too. This will be my first time doing a challenge so I'm hoping I can get it started soon. It seems you've found your way to the Challneges boards so that's good. Don't have to put a link to it the. :) Lapras sounds like it's gonna be difficult with a solo challenge so good luck with that!
Cirno already suggested the Battle Center for you and I recommend it too! You should also join our Battle Server (http://pokecommunity.psim.us/) on Showdown if you haven't found it already. Also I do know how you feel about typing on a phone. It stinks not having a full screen and typing is crazy sometimes. We just happen to have a Pokecommunity App (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=261376) which was updated recently. I used to have an iPod Touch and that's how I would browse PC on the go. Though it did crash alot and there was a glitch where It would add BBCode like this even when you didn't add BBCode. Having to edit out every post got annoying so I started using the mobile skin we had. Though I think most of the error, specifically the crash problems, has been fixed. Hope you get your motherboard fixed soon.
I hope you enjoy yourself here and have fun! If you need anything you can always contact a moderator. See you around!

Hi Soma and welcome to PC!
Cirno has probably got you covered so I'll just add on a bit, in fact glad to see you found the Challenges section already. Sydian tends to refer to the regulars of that section as her "little Swablus" and I bet she'd love your presence there. It's a really fun section with fun challenges like Nuzlockes, monotypes, scramble, gender discrimination and many more. And nice avatar btw, Lapras is a really cool Pokemon, but that's because I love Water-types so much.
And we also have the Video Games section's Let's Plays, Guides & Reviews subforum where keen YouTube LP'ers can post their videos. However, it's highly advised you put the link to your channel in your signature because that way everybody can see it and you'll get subscribers better that way. We also have the Battle Center section and Pokemon Showdown server where you can chat and battle fellow members, and I happen to be a regular over there.
Anyways, I do hope you enjoy it here and remember to ask a staff member if you need help!

Soma!! Welcome to Pokecommunity!!
Cirno, AWSquared and Hikari10 have already covered the bulk of the introduction to the whole forum but, I'll add in my bit too.
Anyway, you should really be checking out the Battle Center (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=234) and our own Pokemon Showdown Battle Server (http://pokecommunity.psim.us/) , we have a diverse array of folks who are into competitive battling and love to have a great (or not so great) chat, like myself, you'll find all of us (Cirno, AWSquared and Hikari10) over there at both the BC and Battle Server, since we pretty much frequent there 24/7 lol.
Since you're getting back into the swing of things, you must already be aware of Pokemon X and Y's Incoming Worldwide Release in a few months. If you are starting to like what you see in the new generation of Pokemon, then head on over to the X/Y Forums (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=256) , for all of your 6th generation speculation and chitter chatter needs, the forum bloomed with popularity when it was first starting out, then when we finally had that section Modded by Aerilyn. I highly suggest you go and check out the forum if you're excited about the new games.
Anyway I've said enough so it's your turn to go and discover on your own, but if you ever have any questions or need help with anything you can always contact a moderator , like Cirno or any other Staff member in that case. They love to help assist new members and love to answer any questions you may have. :)
Also if you need someone to talk to, you can hit me up for a VM (Visitor Message) at anytime, I'm very laid back and chill so I don't bite! :P
Have fun and be sure to remember to read the Rules! (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=6446812)

Well hey, thanks for the warm welcome, and I sure as hell wouldn't mind battling you (especially NU, that's my tier)
