Hi, i made my new account to make my pokemon world larger than my one friend who actually plays it. I have been playing pokemon for about 8 years now, and i am starting to do rom hacks also. I never really played the TCG or watched the anime, but i have read some of the manga and I have owned
pokemon: firered, leafgreen, ruby, emerald, and black.
I am looking forward to being active in the pokecommunity forums, and i hope i have fun.

Hello, mrgoodyman, and welcome to the ever-growing community that is PC :3
That's a fantastic reason to join! Pokémon General (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17) would be ideal for when you feel like discussing all things Pokémon, while Pokémon Gaming Central (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13) could do for all your gaming needs, as well as Challenges (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=202) if you wanna play with a slight twist :3

Those are but a few forums that are Pokémon related. And if you ever feel like doing something silly that isn't related to the series, then you can go to Creative Discussions (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=155), Entertainment & Hobbies (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46) and Off-Topic Discussions (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25) will do just fine. And of course, the one you might go to first: Emulation & ROM Hacking (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=156)

Again, welcome to PC! And hope you have a great time here!

Hey mrgoodyman and welcome to the forums!

I know the feeling of not having people to play Pokemon with. I've been playing Pokemon for a long time too now. A good 13/14 years I think. Though it's only been recently that I've been having a hard time finding people to talk about Pokemon. I have friends who still play Pokemon, but it's mainly the odler games, so it's hard to relate to them when it comes to the newer ones. But that's why I joined here, so I can talk to people who love Pokemon as much as I do. That shouldn't be heard to do cause we have lots of friendly users here. But also because we have a good variety of forum for Pokemon here, many forums of which ElietBeats already suggested. You can talk about every generation of Pokemon here from Gen I to Gen V to the currently announced Gen VI or Pokemon X and Y. I'm very excited for X and Y how you? You can also find sections not related too Pokemon too of course!

You're interested in ROM Hacking so I say the first place that might be good for you too check out is the Emulation board. It's a very popular section here with a lot of people who visit there everyday. Since it's so big, there's a big variety of hacks to discover there. It's a good place to learn on hacks to since there's the tutorials (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58) section there to guide you on certain things and also many resources and materials (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=66) you may need. Any other questions can be ask in the Simple Questions (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=79614) thread found there. The members who frequent there are helpful, just like a lot of members on PC. If there's no where else to turn to, you can always contact the moderators there, DrFuji and giradialkia who know tons of things on hacking and will certainly help you with anything.

Hope you have an enjoyable experience here. Any moderator will help with any concerns or questions you may have anytime. Catch you later and see you around posting!

Hello mrgoodyman, and Welcome to the PokeCommunity.

Considering you're into the video games, I would recommend checking out the Generational discussion forums. They're organized by generation, so they shouldn't be hard to look through.

Before you do that, though, be sure to read through the community rules first. Also, check out any section-specific rules before you post in a section.

If you need help or have a question regarding the forums, just ask a person with a bolded username. They'll point you in the right direction ;)

Feel free to hit me up with a visitor message of you want. I'm always open!

Hi mrgoodyman, i'm O07_eleven, it's nice to meet you! ^_^ At least you still have one friend to play Pokemon with, I don't know anyone in real life who still plays seriously -_- I guess we're the guys who didn't grow up right? :D Please forgive my overuse of emoticons, once you start in this dirty business it's very difficult to get out :P

I'm glad that you've joined PC to expand your Pokemon experience, there's so much to do here! It seems you've played a lot of the 3rd gen, with R/E and FR/LG, so I'd recommend you look at Advance Generation Gaming (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=164), there's also Pokemon General (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17) and Pokemon Gaming Central (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13), which are really good for discussing any general topics or the games as a series :) My favourite section is Chit Chat and Polls (http://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23), which is good for socialising with your fellow members.

Hope you enjoy your time mrgoodyman, if you need any help feel free to holla (Visitor Message) to me or any moderator, but all the members here are friendly and would love to talk to you!

Hey! I am a long time player of Pokemon too. What got you into it? Do you prefer certain types to battle with? As for myself I favor the Normal and Ghost type. These are my favorite, I have special connections to the Pokemon that I use.

I hope to get to know you better, see you around!
