Flay isn't a very popular character among Cosmic Era fans. Most of the time people are talking about her, it's something nasty. True, it was despicable of how she manipulated Kira into hurting Sai, and sickening the way she paraded around him, being jealous of Cagalli, not to mention that she's a poster-girl for Blue Cosmos, but personally, I pity Flay. It was only after Rau kidnapped her that it seemed to me like she became truly helpless, and seemed to repent for her past misdeeds. The things Flay did were selfish and cruel, to be sure, but does that mean she's evil? Let's look at her background, first. As the daughter of a very important official of the Atlantic Federation, Flay was snobby from the start, relying on Sai to protect her, and looking down on Kira for being a Coordinator. One could say she lost her mind when her father died, and, in a twisted paradox, slept with Kira to bend him to her will. I find Flay to be a very tragic character, since she frequently lowers herself to levels she would not have stooped to before Heliopolis was invaded. Besides losing her virginity to a person she hated based on what they are, Flay became even more cowardly, attempting to murder Dearka while he was tied up, and becoming Rau's servant. In the scenes in which Flay and Rau are together, it is apparent that Flay does not embody any of the insane hatred that Rau possesses. She is simply a weak-willed girl who had the bad luck to be mixed up in the Bloody Valentine War. Flay is a fine example of how the horror of war can affect ordinary people.

(BTW:I admit, i saw fllay as a selfish manipulative, insane b****. but in retrospect, i do feel sorry for her. As much as i dislike Kira, he was mislead by her, but in her defense she was insane, which is why she thought Rau was her Dad. At first you do see her with a look of guilt and maybe disgust for sleeping with Kira in ep 12. Oh, and by the way, I REALLY don't think she was a virgin by then. I think she and Sai were a bit closer than the english version leads on. The way she seduced kira, like when he was with cagalli, she did that a little too well. I think she knew what she was doing, and given her mindset, she probally being that loose was an acceptable price. In the end i feel sorry for her.

...well, the motherboard melted >_> I had a new one put in it a month ago [because that was why my AC adapters were melting, too XD I have one of the old ones. It's totally wrecked]. I should probably ask about if maybe a new fan should be put in it, too. Because my laptop never crashed from overheating, but the AC adapters nearly burnt my hand off with five minutes of usage.
