GBA was, in my opinion, one of the best handheld consoles to ever be made by Nintendo.

In Japan, Game Boy Advance was released in March 2001. In North America, Europe, and other areas, it was released in June. This console had a very powerful processor, it had greater graphics quality than previous Game Boy models, and it was backward compatible with all GB and GBC games.

Have you ever owned a GBA? What games did you have for it? What were your favorite games? Have you ever upgraded to a Game Boy SP or a Micro? Use this thread to answer these questions and talk about various of other GBA-related topics![/css-div]

Proud ex-owner of Orange Game Boy Advance (I lost it, unfortunately) and owner of Special NES GBA SP. I kinda want the 20th anniversary micro and Pearl Blue SP, though.

I still have the Gameboy Advance SP. :3

But I absolutely love this handheld. <3 I held one ever since the 5th grade. :3 It was a long story - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire came out, and oh god I was so jealous of all the new pokemon they were getting.... (ESPECIALLY MILOTIC) so, I begged my mom to buy me one, and I got one for my birthday! One of my happiest moments everrrrr.

The games I have for it are:

~ Super Mario Advance 2
~ Pokemon Ruby
~ Pokemon Sapphire
~ Pokemon Emerald
~ Fire Emblem 7
~ Fire Emblem Sacred Stones
~ Pokemon LeafGreen
~ Pokemon FireRed
~ Medabots: Rukishio
~ Summon Night: Swords Craft Story
~ Summon Night: Swords Craft Story 2
~ Megaman Battle Network
~ Megaman Battle Network 2
~ Megaman Battle Network 3
~ Megaman Battle Network 4: Blue Moon
~ Megaman Battle Network 5
~ Megaman Battle Network 6
~ Yugioh: The Sacred Cards
~ Golden Sun
~ Golden Sun 2

I absolutely adore the Summon Night series; and I was disappointed that Summon Night 3 wasn't localized. I also love the Megaman Battle Network games, since I used to love watching Megaman NT Warrior. ^^ DON'T GET ME STARTED ON GOLDEN SUN - it was really one of the best GBA games out there, imo. <3

My first gaming device was an SP :)
I got it as a birthday present when I turned six. It was blue and my parents also bought me Spyro 2: Season of Flame with it. A few months pass and I got my first Pokémon game, Sapphire. I played the heck out of that GBA. Soon after FireRed and LeafGreen were released in the U.S., I got a cool new GBA with Charizard on it. I still have both of those SPs today.

Games I owned include (some of these names may be incorrect): Spyro: Season of Ice, Spyro 2: Season of Flame, Spyro 3: Attack of the Rhinocs, Crash 2: N-Tranced, Spyro Orange, Crash Purple, Pokémon Ruby, Pinball, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, Crash Nitro Kart, all of the DragonBall Z trilogy, DBZ: Supersonic Warriors, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem, and many others. Unfortunately, I sold most of those games to GameStop :(

The best thing about this is that I didn't even ask for a GBA for a birthday present. Heck, I didn't even know it existed. But I'm really glad they did get me one because most of my greatest childhood moments involved playing my GBA.

I never got the first Advance. I'm kind of happy too. As I would use my SP for long car rides. And I would often play at night. So the lack of a light screen would of made it difficult.

My first game for my SP was Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards. Shortly after I got Pokémon Ruby Version.

Oh gods, did anyone see this before:

It was called the T.V Tuner. As the name suggests, it lets the Game Boy Advance tune in to a few channels with an attenae. It actually really worked as a mini portable T.V device. XD

I have Gameboy Advance SP and still have it, even though I rarely use it right now. Some of my favorite games are Pokemon Emerald, Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land, Gundam Seed Battle Assault, and Power Rangers Dino Thunder and SPD.

And I did heard about that T.V. Tuner for GBA add-on, even though I didn't bought one, because I'm unsure if it is available in my country or not.

My first ever gaming system was an SP, and I still have it. I have quite a few games for it, most I can't remember though haha.

I actually never owed the first Gameboy Advance, which I regret because I thought the retro purple console has become a symbol of video games since and I love the design to death, ahaha. I did own an SP, though, and of course I absolutely adored it. Easily the best handheld console by Nintendo, or any company in my opinion. The gigantic plethora of games was obviously a factor, but I just remember spending so many days wasting hours on my GBA, getting through levels in Warioware and raising my pokemon in Emerald. I think the only game I've ever beaten on an emulator was on a VBA, which also tells you something about my appreciation for the console.

I've never heard of the TV Tuner actually, lmao. I doubt it worked well, but it seems like an interesting concept. I don't know if I would have bought it for myself, but interesting nontheless.
