The First Pokémon Community Creative Writing Competition
Well, it's the first ever. One of the best ways to express yourself is to show you can be creative in your writing. The competition is divided into two categories. There will be one winner for each.

Story - We want you to write a story on "What would I do if I had lived in the world of my favourite anime/manga?"
Poetry - Poetry is free-choice free-style. No limits. Just produce a nice entry.

All people entering must state so in the name of the thread.

Prizes will be handed. So see if you can produce a very good story! The competition ends on the 8th of January! Submit now!

Ohh, so if I wrote a story, it would have to be of what I would do if I lived in the world of my favorite Animé? May I write one including mine and my friend's characters, and one of their adventures, or is it strictly for just telling about them and what they would do? (I'm not making much sense, eh? ._.)

Yes go ahead Kayleigh. I'm flexible in options.

Okay then. ^_^ I'm leaving in a minute, so I'll have to write it next time I come on. I'll be thinking about the storyline then...

Does it have to be you exactly in the story or can it be a character based on yourself? o.o

Hiroshi Sotomura
December 17th, 2003, 05:04 PM
That's allowed. Just remember it's in the topic of being in the world of anime.

I know what Animé my character will be in! ^_^ It's the theme of this entire forum! *runs off to her Pokémon rp site to get ideas*

I'm in the middle of my story... ^_^ I've just had a busy week, and I usually get interrupted while I'm on the computer. I would've finished it today but I was at the theater all afternoon watching the new Lord of the Rings movie, lol. >_>;

Me thinks that I will enter. Akk. My story's probably going to end up a little like "A Christmas Carol." We've been reading/watching that in English class all week.....

Kayleigh

I didn't think of a Christmas-themed one... ^_^; That's a good idea.

I have a question. Is there a limit on how long the story can be, or can it be however long we want it to be?

Hmm... writing competition...... If I had time to, I would definatly enter this, it seems like a very interesting twist to fan-fic writing. Good Idea Vito Winstrate!

The only thing you are limited on is whaty you can do, but poetry is free choice.

You can only do one part. The contest ends on the 8th of January. Finished work is put in this forum, but poetry is put in this thread.

You should probably put the due date somewhere noticable in your first post so it's easy for people to check.

So once I am finished with my story, I'll need to make a brand new thread? Should I put that it's for the contest in the title?

I stated that bit in the first post.

Lightning - It's too late... I hate the timeout...

(Double-post to note the topic)
Everyone please submit your entries before January 8. Judging will be taken.

And if anyone wants they can be one of 2 other judges. Judging starts on the 9th. And as a special treat, the writing competition has been extended in options. You may write a story about "What would I do if I had lived in the world of my favourite anime/manga?" now.

I'll enter in the poetry category!

Exploring Unknown Ruins
Deep inside a cave
seeking out the answers
to the questions that you crave

The caves are filled with monsters
And things that crawl about
You know it isn't certain
that you'll ever make it out

You wear protective armor
that shields you from most harm
a large and powerful cannon
replaces your right arm

in spite of all the gear you have
some are stronger still
I'm talking about the monsters
It's you they seek to kill

The visor of your helmet
shows maps and readouts, too
everything you need to know
is all right there for you

the most important readout
is your energy supply
if it ever reaches zero
you will surely die

as you are exploring
there's not much that you'll find
questions more than answers
seem to fill you mind

you must keep your focus
you're running out of time
these are thoughts you're thinking
when you're playing Metroid Prime.

It dousn't seem like anyone is going to reply for now, so if this thread dousne't get a reply by February 25 a whole month which is reasonable, it will be closed due to inactiveness.

Well, I'll post a poem up if I can =/

Tired of trying
Yeah I'm smiling
But inside I'm dying
Everyone sees who I appear to be
But only a few know the real me
You only see what I choose to show
There's so much behind my smile
That you don't know
By me

I'll just close this because it also seemed like this competition ended long ago.
