2nd semi-annual Pokecommunity Election

Pokecommunity Election Setup:
a. anyone wishing to enter will be able to PM Lightning (http://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?userid=31) or me (http://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?userid=8691) from the time of this post until 9PM estUS March 8th.
b. March 9th a list of all the runners will be posted.
c. The primary voting will last until the 20th of March; you will be able to vote for any three members on the list.
d. March 22nd: the final ten are posted. The start of the final campaigning will begin at that time. You will be able to campaign until April 5th
e. April 6th,all campaigning will stop and the final voting will begin.
f. You will be able to vote for one member of your choice. The voting will last until the 21nd of April. On May 1st the two winners will be posted and given their titles.

Prizes for becoming President/Vice-president:
a. Own usergroup with the title President or Vice President
b. Your choice of coloured name (president will receive a bold and italic name; vice president will receive a bold name)
c. Increased PM box space

And for the rules.
a. No staff shall be allowed to enter.
b. No member currently holding the President and Vice-President will be permitted to run.
c. To run you must have at least 50 posts and a join date of, at latest, February 1st.
d. No spamming posts or rep with 'vote for me' at all.
e. One post containing a vote for each round per IP will be allowed.
f. No non-voting posts in the voting threads.

I have got so many bad reps with no name, however they leave their name on good reps in hope of being repped back I suppose.

I got about 5 bad reps in a row for a post I made with no names left at all.

It dumped my rep straight through the ground (I had 6 or 7 reps, it left me with 3).

The point isn't that moderators shouldn't be allowed to run, but rather that moderators were allowed to run last time. Look at it this way. You're trying for a promotion to executive at work, after seeing that the current executive is spoilt silly. Suddenly, they fire her, giving you a clear shot. In the end, you're promoted, however they refuse to pay you as much as the previous executive. Would you consider that fair? I wouldn't, and this situation isn't any different.

There is no use in arguing the fact that mods will not be able to run, Ty. Erica already made it clear that mods and higher staff already have a colored name and actually have power, unlike the president or vice, therefore, staff probably will not be able to run.

Why? Because we have a coloured name? Yes, and the mods who actually care about the coloured name are always wanting it changed. Because we have a bigger PM box than members? Yes, but the President's box is almost twice the size of a mod's.

We have it for this time so that the members who either aren't quite mod material, or who aren't modded due to having enough mods for a certain area, have this election for themelves ^^ There are only 40 mods, but thousands of members, so it's nice for a member to be able to have a coloured name, larger PM box, and to be visible on the forum leaders page, when mods already have that ^^

Um, being elected President doesn't gain you respect. It gains you a coloured username, larger PM box, and your name on the forum leaders page. That's not how you get respected. For that, you have to be friendly, active, helpful... overall, a good member. Take FG for example. She didn't gain popularity by being elected Vice President. She was quite popular way before then (considering she was also modded after the election).

@DF- well, there's thousands of members that are also inactive or don't deserve to win/aren't running, so... @_@ there's only like thirty-something candidates anyway. and as i recall, mods have a larger PM box for reports (when the hack was installed), a colored name so members know that they're a mod, same thing with being on the Forum Leaders Page. everything a mod gets is due to their helping PC. :\
