From what I've read, Emerald version, but overall favorite as of now might have to be my Gold version.

ya, i like gold best. it was a great sequel to blue and red because we could get all 250... it was annoying on ruby and sapphire that we could only get 200 until firered and leaf green came out. it doesn't really make sense to make us wait. and fire red and leaf green were pretty much just copies of red and blue spiffed up... so i'll go with gold/silver because at the time when it first came out, it was better than any other pokemon game at the time that they came out.

IMO G/S/C (out of the three i would chose Crystal) were the best, just cause of all their features they had.

Shouldn't this be a poll.Anyway They are all good.But gold and sliver were my favourite.Wouldn't it be cool if they made a GBA remake of them.

Out of all of the games, I like Gold. I liked the series of GSC, but I never played Silver... so I can't judge it. And from playing on Crystal, I simply thought it was too similar to Gold for me to think of it any differently. So... GOLD ALL THE WAY! XD

My favourite's crystal. Not 'cos I'm a retro freak. (I aren't, honest!) I just like it 'cos it's got two regions and it has more cool features than gold and silver. It's my fave game and always will be.

I love them all, they are all amazing games! If I had to pick one game from the series though it would have to be Pokemon Blue. That was the first version I played the whole of 8 years ago and that game was revolutionary in its time.

I like pokemon blue the best believe it all not, it was my first pokemon game, and i had the most fun wacky adventure with it. I still like the other games, but i like the original ones the most.

I liked Crystal the best, because you could battle to level up and evolve all over again on the S.S. Aqua (I know you can do that on FR/LG, but that always seemed to get monotonus (sp?)).

I like Leaf Green and Crystal. I like Crystal because of the two regions. The first region was always my favorite and once they remodeled them with Fire Red and Leaf Green, Leaf Green became my favorite.

Silver -> The new pokemon were still creative and original (*cough* rubysapphire *cough*) and it had a whole ton of new features. Plus, it had Lance in an involved role, and the starters were good. Also....Lugia...Aeroblast....Plus, it had a lot of goodies for later, like the whole Kanto region, S.S. trip, fighting RED from the old games...

Well I wanted to say that I like Pokemon Fire red/Leaf Green and Sapphire/Ruby. I really like all the games. The first game that I played was Pokemon Red. Then I played Yellow and the I played Crystal then Sapphire then blue then ruby and then fire red. I am still playing fire red but I feel lazy cuz I started all over again. Well I am going to add Emerald soon.

It would be hard to choose but it would be the G/S/C series. I just can choose one.

I would have to say Crystal, since it's a tweaked version of Gold/Silver. G/S/C had the best atmosphere, and a good set of Pokémon. (I can live without the 3 or 4 Advanced Pokémon I like). The Johto region was layed back and cozy, yet connected.
Second to that, I would say Fire Red, because it has a nice feel and level of polish, and seems almost 'pointed towards' G/S/C in style and progression.

Gold and Silver, definitely. A mix of both new and old monsters (which placed less emphasis on the new Pokemon), day/night system, the introducion of two great new types, etc etc. The perfect Pokemon game if you ask me.

Although Red and Blue come a close second with nostalgia in mind.

The third-generation onwards has been a bit of a disappointment for me. They're still (obviously) fantastic games, but I'm not at all a fan of the contests and can't stand the new personality/trait/EV capping systems. I want the series to go back to its oldskool roots for the DS games.

Blue for me, for nostalgia. And the fact that I completed the game about 17 times with different Pokemon Teams.
Gold was a close second, new Pokemon were fantastic and most looked pretty cool.
