2nd idea. if you tell someone else to join this "special site" list, and they come and say " i'd like to join blah, blah, blah and whomever recommend me."

the person who recommended to other person gets their site added 1 more time on the list.

I like that idea...but you'd have to have a referrer code, similiar to what topsites do. The real question is, how much PHP do you know?
