Basically what you do is post a sentence and people like Alyssa, Frostweaver, Latiosspud, or Kairi might come and correct your Grammar. Don't look at this like a put-down, look at it like a chance to improve your Grammar. Happy Posting.

I'd Correct grammar, but I have superiors.

"Look! There they are!" said Jimmy.

I may not be one of the people listed but I'm bored. I'll probably do it this one time. :)

I can correct grammar as well. It's been a specialty of mine since I was about six. (That's when my teachers started asking me how to spell words they didn't know. Seriously.)

*thinks that this game is for geeks...*
*therefore: let's sign up ^_^*

*"She is a better skater than any girl on the team"*
*wonders if anyone knows the grammar mistake in that...?*

I love grammar. But I can't get frostweaver's grammar question. I am reading and spelling way above my grade level.

Kairi
January 29th, 2004, 01:19 PM
Better should only be used as a comparison between two objects? =\ *is bad at grammar*
Could also need an any other girl there, but I guess better could work if there are two people on the team?

Its probably something else but the only mistake I see is that there is no "period." But Kairi is probably correct:P.

And by the way, can I be on that list?
*wonders if anyone saw the grammar mistake in that*

AOL slang is considered bad grammar so don't use it! (ex: plz, y, etc.)

Kairi
January 29th, 2004, 02:23 PM
That has nothing to do with the game=\

I believe quotation marks take the place of punctuation in that sentence. I guess it could be something as little as a period, but if so frostweaver is more cunning than I imagined. O.x

Arwen

oh... okay...

Correcting grammar is easy... though...

Frostweaver
January 29th, 2004, 03:08 PM
And by the way, can I be on that list?
*wonders if anyone saw the grammar mistake in that*
*sees an incomplete phrase with "any by the way"... lacking a verb*
*awkward antecedent of "that"... readers do not know what "that" is unless s/he reads back, and that's great enough of a grammar mistake to lose tons of marks on essays... Frosty learnt that the hard way*

*Kairi and Kairyu are both correct ^_^. It is an incomplete comparison (didn't say what it's comparing to) and it's missing the period... or "footstop" for our British friends)*

*next question...?:

"Its our honors to be here with Your Majesty." Said the guard.

*wonders if anyone can get this one...*

Kairi
January 29th, 2004, 03:12 PM
Thats so obvious. O.o Even an idiot like me can get that. =P

Contraction needs an apostrophe, Its is only used without one when referring to something without genders possession. I.E. Its stuffed toy Honor shouldnt be plural either, and dont ask the rule that says why. X.x;

Frostweaver
January 29th, 2004, 03:14 PM
...

*Kairi got the obvious ones... now where's the mean tricky ones Frostweaver hid? =p *c* *

*note: ignore Honour vs Honor spelling problem... we'll treat them as both correct here*

Kairi

*doesnt see another one* *frosty is too smart* =P

You were just asking for that one by taking over this game yaknow. ^_^;

Nah.... Hopefully everyone knows the grammar rules...

Yet me see... Heres a sentence with bad Grammar:

Allison was at his boring bedroom because she is an boring person.

2 Mistakes.

Yet me see... Heres a sentence with bad Grammar:

2 Mistakes.
... *thinks this question is beyond "help"... have to change to many things to fix the contradiction between verb tenses, along with the improper use of boring (but to fix it you need to change things dramatically)*

Nah.... Hopefully everyone knows the grammar rules...

Yet me see... Heres a sentence with bad Grammar:

Allison was at his boring bedroom because she is an boring person.

2 Mistakes.I see one. In this post, grammar is not a proper noun, thus it doesnt need capitalization. =P

Frostweaver

*sees even more mistakes...

That "question" has more than 2 errors... there's contradicting pronouns as well... along with improper tense and use of the word "boring"*

Arwen

LOL.... I did?

I wrote more than 2 mistakes... oops!

Yet me see... Heres a sentence with bad Grammar:

2 Mistakes.An there's the other one:P

also Allison is a girl and ''his boring bedroom'' wouldn't make sense.

Incorrect...

Heres the list of rules in that sentence:
Pronoun-Anteceedent Agreement
Consistant Verb Tense
Grammar Errors.

...

*thought he already pointed out those 3 flaws? The 3rd point is not really grammar errors (too general)...it's the use of "boring" that messes up...*

*... no one got his previous one yet? the correct sentence should say...

"It's our honor to be here with you, Your Majesty," said the guard. *

I wanted to get Frostweaver's sentence about the guard! I could've gotten it right...

Allison was at his boring bedroom because she is an boring person.

Allison was at her bedroom because she is a person.
Sounds better =D
...This doesn't make sense at all! >_> How can a bedroom be boring and she be in her bedroom because she is a boring person? o__O What I said doesn't make sense either, though. XD
Then you put these "quotation marks" around "boring", how about that? LOL

Yamichu
February 3rd, 2004, 12:15 AM
Allison was in her "boring" bedroom because she is a "boring" person.

22sa wins o__o XD
That sounds pretty good...but I don't know if it's right or not XD

EDIT! Isn't it in instead of an?

Yeah, I'd say in...

Anyway correct this pplz.

There was place called PC that had peoples at it that said hello and stuff like that.

*Alyssa's sentence is beyond repair people XD *c* The original sentence violated too much errors that you don't know its meaning... is Allison bored and is sitting in her room doing nothing? Or is she sitting in a boring looking bedroom? or shall we say...

"Allison, who is (keep present tense I believe in this special case as she's probably still a boring person now? this is so confusing) a boring person, was sitting in her boring bedroom."

Frosty has no clue on how to fix it... o.o*

*next question...? =D *c*

"Super Moderator Arcanine appears to be more heroic, while Moderator Sapphire Latos seems to be stupider, but both will face anything for the sake of PokeCommunity, and hence they're both highly respected by the whole community."

(hint- error in the sentence above are as followed: (MAJOR) coherence problem, punctuation mistake(s), improper use of conjunctions, spelling error/fake words.) Try to add in as little new words as possible... multiple answer because you need to revise the whole sentence a bit. Try this one now Carol =) *

*EDIT: didn't see Yamichu's... so many words that you can just cut out to save time ^_^;

"There was place called PC, where people said hello and stuff like that. " *

A guess though.

Frostweaver

*a run on sentence error in Haruka's suggestion =p *c* *

*even if the run on sentence is fixed... it's still wrong ^_^;*

Frostweaver

*answer:

"Even though Super Moderator Arcanine appears/is more heroic and Sapphire Latios stupid, they will face anything for the sake of PokeCommunity, and hence they are both highly respected by the whole community."

Carol got the closest answer... her only mistakes are:
-using the word "stupider" which is not a word
-there needs to be a comma before "and hence"

Whee an elementary student made a much better answer than you Haruka... perhaps you need to read view a grammar book? XD *c* *

No, a incomplete sentence is a sentence fragment.
