I think that Diamond and Pearl will be a remake of Gold and Silver, that way you will be able to have all the pokemon on one game system. I think Lugia and Ho-oh will look really cool in a next generation game graphic engine. What do you think Diamond and Pearl will be?

remake of g/s? I heard there were gonna be all new pokemon, but thats still a posibialty. I think its going to be a mix of g/s and r/s with new pokemon.

could be a possibility, but how would you exlain the fact that Munchlax and Rukario are in it. I'm pretty sure those two weren't in G/S. XD

Nah, I think they will be their own games.Like Ruby and Sapphire. It's a new start.

I'm thinking that the mysterious GBA game in the works could be a G/S/C remake, and be 4G, to keep the GBA tier alive.

I don't even think that they should make a remake of G/S, not unless, it's like a prequal, or a sequal,

i think they should be their own games. but, they need to give you the capability to go EVERYWHERE and get ALL pokemon without the help of any nintendo events or cheating devices (though none have been released for ds yet)

G/S/C were my favorite pokemon games because you have 16 badges instead of 8 and that make the replay value really good because its like 2 adventures in one game!

I liked Gold/Silver because of their atmosphere. Johto was a very cozy region, with coniferous forest, small villages, and big cities. It was warm and natural, but also connected. It had that rich, Japanese-style history, with the towers and so on, and you're placed in the middle of it all. I also found the Pokémon of the second generation to be the most appealing and diverse. The first and third-gen Pokémon were, in general, too 'jungley' for my taste.

I agree. And Ruby and Sapphire's pokemon just felt like ripoffs of other pokemon.

Remakes of Gold & Silver should be made after Diamond & Pearl are released, then the 3rd in the D/P series (like in the advance generation). Or you should be able to go to Johto and Kanto in D/P.

No. Otherwise it would be Thunder Gold, or Sleek Silver or something. It's gonna be completely different.

I'll bet my life on D/P being original games. If they were remakes, Nintendo would have told us straight away to stop speculation and, ultimately, disappoint fans who were expecting something new.

They're going to be orignal games, it's pretty obvious *Yes, I can't spell XD.*, sweeties.

No more remakes! Nintendo has released way too many lately.
Not that I don't want to go through Johto again, but if it is the same exact thing with the same events happening at the same time as in G/S/C, than no I don't.

I'd love to see Johto remade again, just not the whole G/s/C game. Nintendo have released too many 'cash in games' too, they should never have released Dash before Diamond/Pearl.

it is not a remake of g/s/c even though i would like one as it was my favourite series

no, D/P will be new. and i've been thinking for a while....
Since people ever even heard of D/P, they've been having unrealistic expectations about it( Pokemon actually touching eachother in battle, calling out the attacks, etc, etc). And while most of these innovations would be cool, i don't think nintendo would do that. I think that it would be just like all the other handheld games so far(Dash excluded) and be a normal pokemon game, maybe with being able to touch which attack you want to use.

D/P will be their own games, starring the 4th gen. pokemon. but i completely agree - of every pokemon game boy game, g/s were my favorites for almost exactly the same reasons. they also didn't have too many challenging puzzles, and it was very realistic with the time and night and day and certain events on certain days that it had the most gameplay (in my opinion), and not to mention great replay value. i would love to see a remake, or mayb a lot of those features encorporated in d/p.

since the ds runs an updated version of the n64's graphics engine, i figure that the battles could quite possibly be like those in stadium.

Maybe it's better that nintendo makes the remake of G/S/C just like the Emerald version. You know, different stories that can make you get both Groudon and Kyogre (in this case, maybe both Lugia and Ho-oh and some other legendaries). It's also better that in the remake we can go to Hoenn region (considering the game might not be able to trade with GBA).

You most likely will be able to trade between R/S/FR/LG/E and D/P. They wouldn't make us mad again.

the thing is Gold sun and silver sea i would amagine would not have new pokemon and would be for the GBA plus they would need an equivilant to the sevii islands like an orange leauge

yeah, but unfortunatley for all you g/s/c fans, i don't think game freak and creatures is focusing too much on making a g/s/c remake. i think they have their hands full with diamond and pearl, but mayb after they're done..........................and yeah, there would be some extras to add in if they do a g/s/c remake, but mayb the S.S. Aqua taking you to new islands...........or a new zone? (equilivant to teh sevii islands?)

the g/s/c remake would probably occur only if jhoto was not an included region in pearl/diamond. imho, g/s/c is by far the best gen. of pokemon to date because of it's length and the nostalgia factor (kanto.) it would be a shame if nintendo moved on without bringing the series back to jhoto. besides, at least the pokemon in g/s/c resemble those from the original 151.

i hope taht if they don't make a g/s/c remake they at least use the greats ideas and innovations it has.

I hope that if its a remake of pokemon gold/silver, they put at least 1 more region and you start in that region.Kanto was too quick if you already had pokemon like lugia at level 70.And people who played pokemon red/blue would know what type of pokemon some gym leaders would have.If its not a remake of Gold/Silver, i hope that they put first, second and third generation pokemon in it.

OK, i thought Pokemaster Jonathan cleared this up, but i guess i was wrong.
DIAMOND AND PEARL WILL NOT BE A GOLD AND SILVER REMAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT WILL BE A NEW SERIES WITH NEW POKEMON IN A NEW LAND AND A NEW ADVENTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO RUMORS (besides here) AND BY FAR NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS THAT NINTENDO IS MAKING A GOLD/SILVER REMAKE!!!!!
*whew* sorry about the yelling, guess i just read one to many of those. Anyways, yeah that would be cool IF they made a remake and if they would have all generation pokemon in it (imagine breeding some 3rd gen. with some 2nd gen. :-)

Nintendo did mention that they were releasing another GBA game alongside Diamond/Pearl. It seems more reasonable that this game could be a G/S/C remake, and 4G, and it could even have a few 4G exclusives. ;)

I read somewhere an interview with an important guy of pokémon games!!
He was telling that the games go by 3 years things, example R/B/Y 3 years, then cames G/S/C 3 years, then came R/S/FR/LG and now with Emerald, the 3 years will close, and will come a new generation of Pokémon games!!!!
Basing on this I say that Diamond & Pearl will be part of a new generation, with new Pokémon, a new world, and... cnnection to Advance generation games, much like the Color and Metal generations had!!

actually you could. the ds has something built in where it can connect a gba cartridge and a ds cartridge together, to enable trading like in this instance.

is there enough room on the cartridges to have all 3 regions with all the gyms and leagues? If not thats most likely the reason why they havnt done it, well that and they'll get more money from putting out seperate games for the seperate regions

Yellow was the same as R/G/B but had Pikachu following you around. So no way. Pikachu is stupid anyways.

just think about this WHAT IF IF.... it is a pokemon MMORPG? with the online they could do it and I think I would be cool running around the pokemon world with other people and just run up to you and saying (your dead you pokemon suck) then you just killing him and then laugh . A pokemon mmorpg would be cool

I wish it would be a remake of G/S. But it's a very slim chance. I bet it will be a 4th Gen. But by the looks the the 4th generation Pokemon already, it will probally be dissapointing. To me they look like more Hoenn Pokemon, and I didn't like Hoenn. And I have a feeling it will be worse. But DS fetures would make it good. A G/S remake for the GBA would be awsome, if they made one.
