hi guys! well i just came back to pokemon after giving it up for the longest time.... and looking in my party and box i realize i had no idea what i was doing or planning to do. i think i was attempting to catch an absol maybe perhaps for a better nature. anyway i think my original team was intended to be this, as follows.
i am not too concerned with stat evs or anything, because no one i know in real life plays pokemon anyway. i'm going to attempt to follow some losely, if you could give pointers in which way my pokemon should stat. i have access to ruby and will soon have access to lg, fr and colosseum. i cant to hidden power easily because i am on the cartridge.

Swampert (mild) -
Surf, Earthquake, Ice Beam, Rain Dance

Houndoom (???)-
Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Crunch

Manectric (???)-
Thunber Bolt, Thunder Wave, Roar, ???

Hariyama (lonely)-
Endure, Reversal, Belly Drum, Rest

Altaria (brave)-
Dragon Dance, Aerial Ace, Ice Beam, Earthquake

Absol (lonely)-
Swords Dance, Shadow Ball, Aerial Ace, Double-Edge

it probably needs a lot of help... but any advice will be useful! thanks!

This is ingame, so your sets arent to bad, but ill give some little bits of help here and there:

Swampert:Rock Slide or Return>Rain Dance. You dont need it.Mild is a decent nature for that swampy set

Houndoom: Sunnybeamer doom is a cool pokemon, a modset nature whould be nice

Manectric: Modest nature w/ crunch or bite as the last move.

Hariyanma: Very, very cool set, i like it a lot.Drum up your attack, use rest, endure a phychic/aa, smash the hell w/ reversal? Very cool, but rest could be replaced scince it isnt really needed, mabye earthquake insted.

Altiaria: Crap nature, really. The attack boost is cool, but speed is not to hot.Altiras stats point toward a phychical sweeper, because of D-Dance.A jolly nature, perhaps, w/ the same moves, but body slam>i-beam mabye.

Absol: Sword Dance on Absol= Very, very cool.Double edge needs to go, the reciol can be nasty w/o rock head.DT+Pressure is cool, so mabye Double team is an idea.

Hope i helped

thanks you guys! ok so heres what i did:

swampert - i think ill reset my game and get a better one, or at least a female one >.> the swamper i have is male so i can't breed it for better nature. and does swampert learn rock slide naturally or do i have to breed it on?
the final set i decided on is: Surf, Earthquake, Ice Beam, Rock Slide

houndoom (modest)- Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Crunch

manectric (modest hopefully)- Thunber Bolt, Thunder Wave, Roar, Crunch

hariyama (lonely or hopefully adament)@leftovers - Endure, Reversal, Belly Drum, Earthquake, with EVs:252 Attack, 129 Def, 129 HP
since i am on the cartridge its hard for me to get specific HP elements i guess. so i think ill stick with this set,

altaria (hopefully jolly)-
Dragon Dance, Aerial Ace, Ice Beam, Earthquake

absol (lonely)-
Swords Dance, Shadow Ball, Aerial Ace, Double Team

Thanks very much for the help you two, esp Atg2 (? *tries to abbreviate the name*) for the comprehensive team rate. Ok while we are at it, i was wondering if anyone could suggest where to put evs in all the pokemon. I'll probably try to do a general EV up, maybe not too specific then. And i never know what to do for hold items.... I always stick those element boosting ones on, but i heard they were not too good >.>

THEY ARE good only if u have lets say: STAB, RAIN DANCE/SDAY TO BOOST, HAVE EITHER FLASH FIRE OR THE STARTER POKEMON'S ABILITY (torrent, etc.) and moves have good base damage... ie: overheat+stab=210 base damage, +sunny day=315 +ability (x1.5)= 450ish+ 10% (from item, charcoal)=495

U get rock slide on swampy through fr/lg move tutour, but i think you can breed it on.Swampys item should be leftovers.
Evs spred: Scince youre going for a mixed sweeper, id say 252 hp/129 att/sp.att would be nice

Doom: Item.....Petya berry would be nice, but they suck ingame, soooooo.....lefties again? Soz, but thats basically the only item good for ingame.
Evs: 252 sp.att/252 spp/6 hp

'Letric: Im afraid lefties will have to do unless you wanna waste a petya on the not-so-elite 4....
Evs: Same as above

Harimama: Lefties are a MUST, incase a sandstorm wipes you out, and with the monster attack and the fact that you know that youre going to attack first 'cos youre at Lv.100, means no salac/lechi
Evs: You may wanna maximise HP, and then get rid of the att evs, 'cos b-drum takes it to the max..... Dump 129 in sp.def, and keep def as it is.

Altira:Lefties........
Evs:Max att/max spp/6 hp

Absol: Same as above.
Evs:Same as above.

ok a couple of questions. one, can you get that amount of leftovers in the game? so far i think i might only have two....
also when a move tutor teaches a move, does it act like the move was learned normally (like it has stab) or does it act more like a tm? also, if i teach it to a male pokemon, will i be able to breed the move?
i've been breeding so many freackin manectrics to hopefully get a modest one... phew i have like two boxes full of them hehehe.
and thanks again for all the info *bows*

Mwar, it's like a TM that ya can't trade. You'll get the STAB as long as the Pokémon is the same element as the move.

=P 252, 129, 129

is pretty much only ok for in-game and Scizor for online battling you'd need to fix those

You can get lefties through the battle tower in r/s i think, and u can get 1 in fr/lg, under celdon snorlax, u get it at the Mt.Battle Pkm copuns in collo, and u can get another leties at the SS.Watchamacallit after u beat the E4 in R/S

this is going to be a stupid and really noob question, but is there a way to breed aerial ace and shadow ball onto one absol? i have an absol with shadow ball and another with aerial ace. i think there's something i didnt see in this picture or something >.> and is there a way to breed aerial ace, ice beam, and earthquake onto one altaria?
also, does anyone know how EVs get affected through the day care and through EXP share? do they even get affected at all? or is the only way to get EVs by items or using them at one point in a battle?

Thanks for all your help you guys! oh and btw, after much mating (that sounds weird) i finally got the right natured manectric and hariyama. yay! only four more pokemon to go!

Errrrrrr, no. Sorry. You need the TMs. And u get EVs through EXP.share, but not the daycare

rins

you need the tms? ack!!! i thought as long as i put it onto a male pokemon, i could pass them to any pokemon i like, like a tm, but i guess it doesnt work on putting two moves on huh? i've been searching the internet and racking my brain but i suppose it wouldnt be able to happen. that's so weird though, unfortunatly. *wonders what i should do with my absols, since i no longer have aerial ace's tm or shadow ball's tm* -_-
on second though... perhaps i can breed either aerial ace onto a pokemon that would learn shadow ball as it levels up, or breed shadow ball onto a pokemon that would learn aerial ace as it levels up. that way i could breed both the moves back to absol... right O_O?
thanks for all the help though.

oh yea and when you say "Altira:Lefties........
Evs:Max att/max spp/6 hp"
you mean max spp = sp def? sp attack? i didnt understand some of the EVs stat names hehehe >.>

You might be able to assemble a really long breed chain for it if you must. You can also buy the Shadow Ball TM in FR/LG.
