What you must do is win the Master Class ranking of each contest. In other words you have to have a Pokémon win the Normal, Super, Hyper and Master rank contests in Cool, Smart, Cute, Beautiful and Tough.

and not only do you have to win it, but you have to have done fairly well. If you don't get so much as one vote from teh audience, then your chances of getting a painting afterward are slim.

I Heard You Had To Beat The Master Class With At LEast An Average Of Five Hearts And Five Stars. Each Painting Is The Winner Of A Class. (hence a painting with a boarder of yellow/red/blue/green/pink - each contest colour)

@Berlitz: You have to have obtained the Ruby and the Sapphire from the Sevi Islands in LG before you can trade with other regions.
