Ah, I might aswell make this. Discuss not only Faking ideas you want to share, but discuss the findings of Fake Cards you got in packs and such. Make announcements about upcoming cards your making and such.

I took the tips for the Faking tips thread and added then here.


I have taken it into consideration that making fake cards is fun, but I need a break for a while, I will get back into it eventually, I just need some chill time. Don't worry, i'll still be around as mod giving my faking tips and suggesting new ways to make cards.

From the Faking Tips Thread
1 - Use the correct fonts and font sizes.
The fonts are available in a zip attached to this post and on pokemonzeo.com Tutorials including font sizes are also there.

2 - Always be original
Don't make all your attacks carbon-copies of real-life cards' attacks. Be original, be unique. If you're attacks are too strong or too weak, others can post possible ways to fix this or you can leave it overpowered.

3 - Not all cards have to be serious.
Along the lines of the creativity aspect I mentioned before, not all cards have to be serious. You can make cards like "OMG WTF PWN MEWTWO" and "Thanksgiving Ho-Oh" with crazy, super-overpowered, or just plain silly effects. Even the official tcg did this (ever hear of Imakuni?'s Doduo?).

4 - Never use "place."
The tcg never uses the word "place." It always uses "put." Don't ask why, that's how it is.

5 - Use spellcheck.
If you're not sure on how to spell a word, put it in spellcheck or use a dictionary. (http://www.dictionary.com)

When grading cards
1 - Point out any and all errors you see.
Help a fellow faker out, disclose the location of any error you see on their card.

2 - Give reasons for your ratings
Tell why you like or dislike something. Don't make posts like "cool" or "that sucks," explain why it's cool or sucks (well don't explain why it sucks, explain why you don't like it).

3 - A simple thank you goes a long way
Don't ignore people rating your cards. Thank them or acknowledge (and possibly correct) any mistakes they point out. If you ignore them, they're likely to start ignoring you.

Q. Where do I get blanks and symbols?
Fangking is a renowned blank/symbol maker. He wrote the book on Hidden Legends and beyond faking (well it was just a tutorial XD). You can find his blanks and symbols here. (http://www.pokemonpalace.com/?id=tcg/fakes/index)

Q. I can't draw, where can I find pics of Pok�mon?
You can use handy-dandy Google and run an image search, or you can use the work of our good friend, Ken Sugimori, which can be found on the official Japanese Pok�mon site's Pok�dex (http://www.pokemon.co.jp/game/index.html) (click on the greenish button with a picture of a Pok�dex).

I had to do this so I wouldn't have 7-8 sitckies :dead:

Nope, it wasn't. It was just to talk about Daily chit-chat going on in the Fake Card world.

To clerify: I am King Shuckle, i'm retired form sets and i'm on a break till summer
~Fangking Omega, the original master, has retired.
~CMP a.k.a. ILoveKendal is a great friend of mine, who me and him took the place of Fang as like, his sucessful students in a way. But he will always be, the ultimate faker.
~Other Fakers include Ivar, Samuri Scearious, AshPokemonMaster, just to name a few.

Please leave "I'm the best" out of this because we are all great fakers with our own unique abilities. We may not be perfect, but we are Card Fakers, and we love what we do. So Discuss away!

I'm not saying me and CMP are the best, it's just that we have had more experience with Photoshop and Faking than others. Thats why I help people become sucessful. I use to be like the newcomers at one time. I had made a really bad Whiscash card, but as soon as I got the hang of Fang's tutorial, I was able to accomplish a great-looking card. I can see sucess out of all of you, you just have to apply yourself and you will be a sucessful Card Faker.

The faking commnity is getting quite big.
I like to see everyone's capabilities with my own eyes.
People are improving day by day, quite frankly I always like to see big factors of improvement. I've been faking for a pretty darn long time but to narrow it out i stopped for a longperiod of time in between.
From those times I got friends, and lots of them, and enemies, but not many. And I wouldnt like to refer to them as enemies. I'd rather say.. people i do not get along with.
And..
We all started somewhere, Fakes only suck when they are purposely made to be sucking. The rest merely compiles us to the next generation fakers that have just started at some point. The only faker i ever communicated with was Kairyu.
And probably Fangking. I got help from those 2 to become an experienced faker.. too bad i cant thank them. Kairyu barely bothers about me anymor, and Fangking well I cant get contact with him.
I hope faking gets passed on generation to generation until Nintendo realises how pathetic they are and that some kids from some islands can exceed their precision and skill.

Its great coming around and seeing how people have grown. The old faking haven of Zeo's dried up a lot, but here it's quite active. I daresay King Shuckle has lent a hand in this growth because when i first came here nothing was going on here in the faking section. Zeo's suffering from lack of fakers who want to learn and be good. Abundance of that here :D

It's proof that you don't have to be "elite" to be respected.

I have to say, the Pok�Community is where faking's at right now, Zeo's practically dead on faking now. Congrats King Shuckle, I still believe that's down to thee.

i never quite made 80.... poor isn't it! I got about nearly 60 on Twilight but then i sort of... died. Zeo and Nick15 are the only faking projects I've known to finish (though mayakashi was never quite completed, tis a shame). I would say I admired Mayakashi more than any other fake set, not least because of the sheer depth of artistic content and versatility, though Zeo's set had REALLY great art too. It just kept a very constant style throughout whereas Nick15's was varied and stylish. Wow, faking history...

Nick15 retired as many fakers inevitably do. Why, i'm not entirely sure. I suppose he was becoming bored... fakecard.com and all it's materials are still there, it's just not updated anymore. Nostalgia purposes and whatnot. See if you can spot my name under the staff section... w00t! There's some amazing stuff on there, blanks, fakes.... check it out some time.

Faking's becoming a little bit dry of late. A lot of the old staple fakers are retiring. I hope the faking season (that's summer while people are off school of course) is more productive.

Charlie (that's Fangking)'s also willing to accept a... er... "student" who wants to learn the ways of the fake. I don't fake anymore myself, but I'm happy to pass on my knowledge for the benefit of others. It's a first come first served basis. Don't do it unless you're willing to learn. Drop me a PM if you're interested. Preferably have MSN, but if not AIM please. If neither, i'll struggle to talk to you but i can work in PMs and emails. I'll help out with any problems you may have. there isn't a tutorial up regarding how to do the pictures in the cards.

Now I did figure out how to put in the pokemon and all that just fine, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to apply the holofoil in the picture.

I noticed that the lugia ex that was made had a background as well as the holo, then the pokemon on top. I can easily get the backgound in and pokemon where I want it, however I cannot figure out how to make the holofoil sheet transparent with the background.

Can you or someone who specialized in the tutorial on your site be able to help me with this?

Try looking at this. It tells you just about everything. To place a picture (on an ADV Style Blank) use the rectangle marque (sp?) too to drag from one corner of the picture box to another and drag it to the image (This works best for backgrounds). Or, for a normal image the way it is, go to "Select" then "Select ALL" and everything will be selected. You could also use the magic wand too and magnetic lasso tool.

Wow, I'm astounded to see the faking community is still alive.. or is it. And if you're still around fangking.. "what's up?" XD

And no, I haven't *completely* given up on faking. Rather I've been spending more time with school, Halo2, drawing everything else, and organizing my music collection. Eventually, I'll climb back onto the faking wagon and make a few cards (probably for friends, if they're still around >.>)

Anyway, I'll probably pop in every now and then to checkout the new cards. Seems interesting!

Lately, I have been into fakecard creation. I'd like to see Fangking make some Delta and Holon blanks. It'd be nice if I could make a card based on my sister's Zigzagoon, Zatch, who knows many Electric attacks.

Anyway, I used some of those Dual-types. The cards suck, but they're nice compared to some of the crap from those who neglect the tutorials.

Fake Carding is not very popular around these parts! But some people from other areas are starting to come here!

If you want a big faking community, go to SerebiiSPPForums (http://www.serebiiforums.com)! Just have to warn you, there are some good fakers there, like ZoraJolteon, King Shuckle and others, but most of them are not very good, and don't even have the basic ideas of faking well!

I'm there, too, but I prefer to say here, it's cooler!

Great News! Ihave tried to pm Nemes about making Delta Species blanks, but so far I haven't gotten an e-mail back. But Fangking Omega has agreed to make Delta Species blanks!!! He will also create the Delta symbol and add it to the symbol sheet so we can use them for card effects. So be ready to make some creations with the Delta Species!!!

What harm's it doing? There's no real "help" thread in this forum so this was the next best place. It's not like I've come here talking about bacon sandwiches or something. I'm still discussing fake cards.

At the end of the day it was a quick and simple query posted in a thread which had pretty-much been abandoned anyway. If I'd known I was going to come under fire for not being a complete stickler for rules then I wouldn't have bothered. :\

Seriously, most forums criticise people for creating pointless topics which are quickly made redundant. Here, I'm being told that saving space = bad.

Well, I did (Aside from the background; which was photographed by Annonomous)-- it's actually partially computer illustrated; the items were sprited out by me and made transparent thanks to Microsoft.
I don't think I want to bother with it anymore; I like making illustrations and effects for cards but when it comes to actually putting them together, I'm no good...

It'll make the foil look like it has parallel lines through it.
If you have a program that lets you tilt it, you could give your Pokemon cards the effect that Parallel-rare YuGiOh cards have.

Oh Fangking! If you go to Pokebeach.com and look at the recent Japanese cards that came out, you will notice that there are now Shiny Delta Species Pokemon ;) I guess that means you have to make 9 more blanks when the english scans come out. :D~

EDIT: Also, PPNSteve has added the new VS Badge sheet with the main D/P Trainers on it! He has also added the speical holosheet that will add cool holo effects to the name and HP of the Pokemon! Download those now!

Also, Fang, after D/P is fully revealed, I can send you a pic of the new professor that was revealed recently. I would give it to you now, but his name is too long and no one would be able to fit it next the Pokemon's name even if you abbreviate "Professor." X.x

All Delta ex and Shining are finished. Plus I've revamped the old Shining blanks - holo and non-holo versions of each. Expect them to be up when Steve has a moment :)

I'm also happy to announce that the Shining (*) Delta Pokémon blanks will be available very soon, as in the next 24 hours or so, along with an update of the standard Shining (*) blanks which were a little messy. These new Shining blanks will include holo and non-holo versions. Keep an eye out for them at the usual location on PPN.

If you have a program that lets you tilt it, you could give your Pokemon cards the effect that Parallel-rare YuGiOh cards have.

I've been working on Project NV for quite some time now.

Project NV is a set of templates that were simply made on Microsoft Powerpoint by layering auto shapes and adding text and unofficial symbols.
I've recently started making some templates that are sorta like the EX Delta Species cards. It is, like all NV templates, not very detailed.

A new rule has been added in the rules thread. Make sure you look at it. I am also considing banning text fakes again. Why? Because people say they will eventually post them and then they never do. It's a waste of thread space if no cards are being posted.

If not a full ban, then a time limit. Those who go past the time limit I have set will get a warning. :O

I enjoy making up fake Pokemon cards, but I just can't really put them together; anyway, these are some text fakes that I've made up within the past 2 months. Anyone who wants to make cards of them or wants to borrow attacks, etc. from them is welcome to, but I expect credit for my unique attacks. Here they are:


Shedinja * 90 HP PSY

PokeBody: Curious Aura
When Shedinja * is attacked, your opponent must flip 3 coins.
If one is heads, the Defending Pokemon does no damage to Shedinja *.
If two are heads, prevent all effects of attacks done by the Defending Pokemon.
If all three are heads, the attack proceeds as normal.

DRK: Dark Entangle
The Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.

PSY, GRS, GRS, COL: Toxic Curse 20
The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned.
Put 3 damage counters instead of 1 on the Defending Pokemon between turns.

it looks like I'm about 3 years too late...I bought a bunch of these for my son. I'm hoping as he grows up, he'll learn to appreciate these as much as I do. I wanted to make some fake cards for us, but I haven't got the fonts just right. I downloaded humanist from pokemon zeo, but it doesnt look right. it's close, but not perfect. im hoping somebody reading this can get me the font I need. i tried downloading the tcg fake fonts zip, but its dead. anybody know where I can get the fonts I need?

Personally I prefer Gill Sans over Humanist, but its hard to get hold of (most people confuse it with Gill Sans MT, which is not the same.)
