Which series do you think [so far] is better? I liked Gundam Seed MUCH better; to be perfectly honest, as big of a gundam fan as i am, i just can't get into Seed Destiny. I HATE the main character, Shinn. Can not stand him. The only ZAFT soldier i like is Lunamaria (and probably Athrun). I hate how they are making the good guys in [most] of the previous series ultra-bad, and our making the bad guys good (EA is evil, ZAFT is good). I hate ZAFT, and never will like them. I wish the true EA would seperate from teh Blue Cosmos and again become the good guys in the series.

actually, ZAFT wasn't the good guys from SEED...it was the three ships alliance...chances are they won't be in Destiny either...
i really gotta ban these ___ vs. ___ threads --; too much ranting >>;
personally, i like Destiny better probably cuz of how it's going at the time...i might start to dislike it as it goes on though...

GSD>GS
Simply because first of all I'm one of those people that don't like Kira all that much, so GS gets the shaft right in the beginning.
Honestly speaking, the only good guys in the original series were the 3 ships, with both EA and ZAFT playing the bad guy roles. Right now I think something like this will repeat again, except with Orb joining in on the evil.
Anyway, GSD I think has better execution in its storyline (with a strange plot similarity to Zeta apparently. I forgot about Zeta. XD) than GS. Also they did do things that I didn't want them to do in the original series (tho they will be doing things that I don't want them to do in this series too, probably more), I think that with better execution of the plot, it can work out to GSD's advantage in the end.

Pfft, SEED has nothing on Destiny, XD
Yeah, Destiny has a much better plot, and a wider, if not stranger, variety of character personalities, XD
Pfft Kenny, you Kira hater, XD
Yeah, at this rate, everyone's gonna end up appearing evil, but meh, we all have the Archangel if we need somewhere to turn. I could be wrong though. :P
Shinn reminds me of both Kira and Athrun for some reason. It could be the hair, but I think it's something to do personality wise, XD

I don't know what Lacus sees in Kira. XD
But the episodes are going to get more and more crazy from the looks of it. (can't wait for 28!).
btw Daiaki, I like yee sig (haha I'm a unicorn table fan -_-''').
Kurosaki
April 27th, 2005, 08:53 PM
No, the question is: What DOESN'T Kira see in Lacus? XD
Yeah, it seems to be getting a lot more insane as the episodes go on. *remembers the last few episodes of SEED* It'll start to get confusing somewhere in the 30's I think. XD
Thanks. I dunno, I just started watching that show, and found that I really liked that song, XD

Basically Destiny > SEED
In the frist five episodes of SEED Destiny there was more action and story than in the first twenty episodes of SEED. It's not often that a series follows through on the promise of crashing a large object into in Earth. Kira's character has gotten a lot better, not to mention no where near as whiney as he was at the end of SEED...Shinn picked up that trait.
And since SEED was more or less a rehash of MSG, of course Destiny parreles Zeta...The thing with both Four and Steller losing their memory, and the Destroy Gundam being based on the Psycho Gundam.

Yes i love this anime and i never seemt to hate it ever since. Destiny owns the original Seed. But dont take the good things of the original seed into proportion. I see this anime as very good and i dont like anyone saying that one or even both of them are crap. Because they arent. They own you.

Just saw the RAW of phase 28 and holy **** is all I can say, I'm not that good with Japanese yet so there were a a few things I couldn't make out...But you didin't really need to know any of it in this episode. Basically these are the main plot points....
SPOILERS AHEAD
--Shin does end up killing Auel
--Kira rips apart the Saviour
--Luna gets beaten pretty bad.

Hm...trying to make a decision here, since I've seen all of Gundam Seed, and yet only up to episode 6 of Destiny (due to being at school, which basically shattered any anime-watching mood I might've had)....
Bah, I saw those spoilers before I realized it. ;_; Oh well. Serves me right for my habit of reading from the bottom of the thread up.
Hm. I liked GS best somewhere after the middle of it...though I was liking what I saw in GSD before I stopped watching it...and I do know I like GSD's opening and ending songs a bit more than I like GS's (I'm actually listening to Pride over and over right now)...
So...um...add my vote in liking Destiny is better. o_o

Im only up to episode 8. Wait im downloading 8 at the moment.
Im loving Ignited. XD
Btw I have this pretty neat question..
Why is it in the video Freedom and Force Impulse are fighting each other? (Kira & Shin)
Ryoutarou
May 1st, 2005, 02:33 AM
Easy, if you rewatch episode one you'll notice a beam from the Freedom is what killed Shinns family. So apparently there is going to be some big final battle with the two.

SEED kinda went downhill from episode 5 IMO. I’m starting to find destiny depressing, but I like it better then SEED. I watched 28 just now, and Shinn makes an arse of himself, I thought he was gonna kill Cagalli, twice. Poor Auel, another cool gundam boy gets cut up. XD

Considering that I have only watched a few episodes of Gundam SEED Destiny, I have to say that Gundam SEED ish better. X3 It really holds my attention and stuff. XD But I bet once I start watching more of Destiny then I'll say differently. :33

Further Spoiler from Blue's Post Ok I skipped all the way to 28.. Looks like Saviour got knocked out by Freedom since Athrun keeps interfering with Freedom's business..
So tahts how he died? He drowns in the water ._.
Hmm.. Saviour DID get it tho, Athrun WAS getting quite annoying. (like Sakura in Naruto). I love that episode, its fighting all over the place. XD
End Spoiler
Yet.. I thought that Freedom was fighting with Calamity. Wasnt he? *I recognized those neat cannons on top of that random gundam* Oh well. At least I know why Shin hates him. Hmmmmm..
oh #$@#! ohh sorry I misunderstood.
That cant be Calamity.
And Freedomw as the one who destroyed that Gundam so it made that big explosion. Sorry.

Long winded post full of spoilers coming up! XD
Actually, out of all the characters I think Athrun is the only one of good merits. What's Kira doing? Thinking that by just dearming the EA and ZAFT forces the war will end? Hostilites will still exist and another war will break out, every time Kira comes in, someone dies. It happened with Heine and it happened with Auel. Athrun while he may be confused, he knows what he is fighting for. He just doesn't know what path to take. Cagallis, his fathers, his own, but he knows what he wants.
Kira just wants to dearm the forces and let them solve the rest of their problems, he isn't thinking things all the way through. The war may have just restarted, but there have been problems since CE 23 when the world first learned of the Coordinator. So, what's been going on for almost seventy years isn't going to end just by dearming them.
And now, Kira goes out on attacking Athrun for personal feelings, not for any real reason. Yet, Athrun let Kira win, Athrun didn't go to SEED mode, he just floated there basically, and had a lot of chances to at least get away from FREEDOM. But that also brings up that Athrun can't go to SEED because he doesn't know who his real enemies are, and he doesn't know the full extent of what he wants his ideals to be. He is torn between love for his old friends, love for his new friends, and his love for PLANT.
Although theres never a white and black to what Kira and Athrun believe in what is the right thing to do. Athrun at least has the idea of wanting to protect, what's Kira doing? He just wants the war to come to and end without having to do any real work. It all comes down to "you have to work for your ideals, they're never handed to you on a silver platter".
Athrun wants to be there for Cagalli, but he also wants to be there for ZAFT. He's torn between what he grew up being prepared for and what Cagalli wants. His main problem is to many people want him, Kira wants him to be there for Cagalli and to fight alongside him, Talia and the ret of Minerva look up to him as a war hero, PLANT looks up to him as the man that saved them from a nuclear attack. It's just people being selfish and wanting to use him for their ideas and not letting Athrun decided what he needs to do, thus messing him up more.
Oh yeah, thought I might make this our GS/D discussion thread.

May 1st, 2005, 10:35 AM
Oh great. I was wondering where it went until I looked closely on the Thread List. Hmm.. Oh well.
Kira, as a matter of fact has chosen his path from the beginning..
He was assigned to war, in which started his journey. A war between the Naturals and the Coordinators. (Earth Alliance & Zodiac Alliance)
The war started because of economical losses and gains, they had too many disturbance in everyday life, so they had no other choice, but to start a war.
Around a year later, is when SEED begins..
NOTE: If you do not like me talking about the normal SEED then do not read any further
The Naturals hid their secret weapons (i.e Strike) in colony called Helipolis.. The ZAFT attacked Helipolis and stole the mecca. Leaving Strike. Helipolis was destroyed.
Kira, was brought into all this trouble that the Earth Alliance curs. Which then he met Athrun.
Athrun gets arranged a fiance with Lacus.
Then she comes over and says she likes Kira. (lol)
Then in a battle when Kira & Athrun meet in, Kira murders Nicol.
Athrun murders Tolle in the Skygrasper. Then they both go all out on with each other.
Now im not saying that I like Kira more than Athrun..
Im saying.. Athrun never had a role until his time came. He met Cagalli in which he is still with. They ended up liking each other even though they were on different sides.
He receives a gift from her before returning back to his own forces where he is reassigned to a new mobile suit and a new elite squadron for special forces operations attached to his father's command and his first order of business after hearing of the failure of Operation Spitbreak, ironically, is to hunt down both.
Thats probably the whole SEED story for Athrun.
In whcih the rest you want to hear about is the episodes.
Now for Destiny..
Gundam Seed Destiny takes place in Cosmic Era 73. By now, the war that had taken place in Gundam Seed has been long ended and new characters are appearing taking the role of the nemesis. Athrun has left ZAFT and a new counterpart appears. His name is Shin Asuka, and he is one of the leading characters in the series. Athrun is now a part of Orb along with Cagalli.
Now Kira..
Hmm....
Hes now in Orb.
Some dudes try to assissinate Lacus.
He does not agree to believe it. He protects her.
Afterwards,
Kira and the AA crew from the original SEED is going back to 'take Cagalli away.'
He ends up fighting Rey, Athrun, and some other guys in his Freedom.
This was an information post.. lol. Im just posting my knowledge on GS/D.
Thank you. XDD :\

2. Stellar
3. Shani

I think all of the druggies are going to die in the end, but that's just my personal opinion. Besides, it's almost given that Stellar will die. Oh yeah, she's #1 on my durggie list, the rest all place last. XD

May 7th, 2005, 10:51 AM
I think Sting might be the only one left in the end, so far he's had nothing to make him interesting...Meaning he's gonna live.
BTW I come baring spoilers! All of these are confirmed and will happen...And I cleaned up the sloppy English to make it easy to read.
So, don't read ahead unless you wanna be spoiled
PHASE-33: The Fallen Wing of FREEDOM
Knowing the great destructive power of the Destroy Gundam and unable to defeat it. Kira is forced to self-destruct Freedom. Despite the great power of the Destory, it is unable to withstand the blow, nor is the pilot. Shinn watches in horror as memories of his past come flooding back to him.
PHASE-34: The Foolish Mistake
Remembering what happened two years ago (the death of his family) Shinn realizes that Freedom was the cause of their death. An enraged Shinn takes on a badly damaged Freedom.
PHASE-35: The Crimson Knight Justice
Just as Shinn is about to strike the final blow Athrun appears in a new Gundam. The Dark Justice(WTF?!) was given to him by chairman Dundal. However unlike before, Athrun sensed something more, and uncovered the plans to build the Destroy.
PHASE-36: Memories
Athrun and Kira locked in battle once again(I'm assuming somehow Super-Freedom is already here). Neo comes to a realization about the truth of Gilbert Dundal wanting to produce Destroy with him. Neo tries to remember his reasons for wanting to defeat ZAFT but is unable to remember. He returns to his room and uncovers a picture of Archangel captain Murrue Ramius. (told ya' Neo was Mwu!)
PHASE-37:Goodbye
After fully restoring his memories, Neo decide to escape from EA. As he escapes he is found by EA soldiers and thrown in jail, but the Archangel makes it's decent.
PHASE-38: The Shining Wing of Justice
With a new passenger escaped from EA, Archangel makes it's way off the scene the previous battle. EA is unwilling to let Mwu go that easy, they send a rebuilt Destroy Gundam to defeat the Archangel. Dark Justice appears and defeats the Destroy. Marking the return of Athrun to the Archangel.
Sting is now the final Evident left at the EA base. Elsewhere an unseen force learns of these events, they being planning for project "DESTINY" . Sting and Rey (from Minerva and the EA base) are seen looking up at the sunset.
Stellar is killed in 33.(Shinn does the Cloud thing to her body), which means the Destroy will be at least out of comission for a while. It`ll probably be like the Psycho and Psycho mk.2 in Zeta.
Also, I think Rey and Sting might get some good story in. It mentions them looking up to that sunset right after the "unsee force" bit.

Uhh...Which ending song? I can help you if you tell me the title XD
Seems Gilbert is trying to do what Char did before him. He wants to make all Naturals into Coordinators , make everyone one race, end the war. But even then, it’s a messed up plan. Former Naturals are still going to be mad at what they became, and the Coordinators may feel betrayed or something by Gilbert.

a little off topic....but one reason why i hate Shinn and the ZAFT characters in seed d is because of a couple reasons. first of all, it takes impule like 5 frekin mins. to assemble, which gets old after awhile (even if they have shortened it). Also, have you ever noticed how Shinn kills EA Windams (or should i say Impulse fodder) so easily? Its like he sees em and then shoots em, and its not even hard for him and they never shoot back. I HATE THAT!!! It was never like that for Kira and the guys in Seed (except for providence, but that was understandable). Plus, Shinn and Athrun are the only ones who ever hit anything, Luna and Ray just sit there missing, and it really is sooooooo predictable and boring to watch. I hope Shinn ends up getting blown up by a Windam :D (it would make my day)

Spoilers in this area contradicting the other guy's ranting
first of all, it takes impule like 5 frekin mins. to assemble, which gets old after awhile (even if they have shortened it).
it doesn't really take Impulse 5 min. to assemble, takes about 23 seconds...unless you're talking about epi 1 where other things are going on at the same time interupting the whole thing which may have made a nice 5 min. takes Strike about 33 seconds...oh, and reason it gets old is cuz Impulse gets a lot more battles than Strike'll get...if Strike got more battles in SEED, it'd get old too.
Ever realize that Shinn and Athrun were trained by ZAFT before they went into battle for the first time? Kira could only rely on himself to train (but he got hella good), if you're talking about epi 16, he hadn't reprogramed his Strike yet. and in other cases, AA had all the reinforcements and stuff before Kira started to pilot Freedom. but mostly because Strike and Kira pretty much only fought the 4 stolen MSes.
Plus, Shinn and Athrun are the only ones who ever hit anything, Luna and Ray just sit there missing, and it really is sooooooo predictable and boring to watch.
Lunamaria and Rey are only seen shooting, never hitting cuz it is assumed to hit, and Zakus aren't exactly made for Earth battles so they go help protect the ship (as you may know, it's hard to hit all the enemy missiles, MSes, etc. from one point no?). The only time they show them missing is in one of those "critical states" where they make it hit Minerva to purposely deal some damage or put them in danger like in epi 28
I hope Shinn ends up getting blown up by a Windam (it would make my day)
actually, Neo(Mwu) pilots Windam and joins AA later on, besides, i doubt a mere Windam (even with Mwu's skills) can take out Destiny...only ones that'd be able to land a hit on Shinn in Destiny is Kira(Nu-Freedom) and Athrun(Nu-Justice) (did the original names cuz there's still some debate on what they're called)
Dark Penguin
May 16th, 2005, 03:43 AM
yeah, i was pretty much just ranting just to get it off my chest *whew* . But still, the impulse takes 23 seconds too many to assemble, and it isn’t as cool as the Strike being sent out from the AA (in my opinion). And yeah you are right about Shinn being trained and Kira not having any “cannon fodder” to fight against, but still, don’t you think at least a few Windams would hit him? No one is that good; even Kira has had a few scares. In GSeed episode 5, mwu was able to hold his own against 4 gundams in a mobile armor (granted it was for a limited time, but still he did better than any of the Windams have). Maybe it just because i have always hated ZAFT with a passion, and now with them trying to be focused as the goog guys, i can't accept and have a passionate hate for Shinn and the Minerva (except Luna XD). Yeah, i was pretty much ranting, but thats why i liked seed a lot better than destiny.

Well, it did help for less edits, and Gundam SEED was getting killed in ratings, so there was nothing CN could do really.

wow, looks like you got affected by the severe lag time too. I never new there was a gundam seed movie, though that may be another gundam series movie. if so, you shoudl just yahoo it and see what is comes up with, to see if it is old and if it even has any active downloads. thats what i would do. but i don't think its gundam seed, i think its another series.
