this is a cool game I remember from the old database...I'm wondering why no one ever started it before...

here's the deal, I name a pokémon and the next person names an attack that pokémon learns and then the next person names a pokémon that learns the attack just named ect.

Example:

person 1:
Pikachu

person 2:
Thunderbolt

person 3:
Magnemite

person 4:
Sonicboom

get it?

I will begin:

Crobat!

Kairyu
January 12th, 2004, 09:54 PM
I think I'll hope in this game.

Wing Attack

Fire Master
January 13th, 2004, 03:24 PM

Kairyu

Fire Master
January 14th, 2004, 12:16 PM
Golem.

how am I going to be able to spend my 25 charecter letters here?

Kairyu
January 14th, 2004, 12:28 PM
Well for one, you could and add a bit of information about that technique or Pokemon. I think that could fill the limit. I'm not making it a rule since I didn't make this thread, its just a suggestion:). Now back on-topic:

Fissure can hit pokemon who are in the semi-invulnerable state during the move 'Dig'. It's also a One-Hit KO move. But it only has a accuracy of about 30% :P.

Timbjerr
January 14th, 2004, 06:32 PM
ehh...you must be creative to overcome 25 char. limit...as long as it isn't 20 dots XP

Dugtrio...the very first pokémon I've ever seen use Fissure it also has no lower body XD

IceKitten
January 16th, 2004, 11:30 AM
Earthquake, my favourite Ground type attack

Kairyu
January 16th, 2004, 02:48 PM
If I can remember correctly, just about every pokemon that can fight on solid ground can learn Earthquake. So.. I will say Dragonite. If you think I violated the rules just pretend this post doesn't exsist:P.

And because I can here's some flavor text about it from the stadium version:
Has intelligence on par with people. This "sea guardian" is said to be capable of flying around the globe in about 16 hours.

Fire Master
January 16th, 2004, 03:46 PM
Hyper Beam a move that takes a lot of HP off, but has to recharge after using it.

Rollerblaze
January 16th, 2004, 03:47 PM
dragonite can learn thunder

Timbjerr
January 16th, 2004, 06:37 PM
I guess I can go off either Hyper Beam or thunder...

or I can go off both of them and say raikou!

IceKitten
January 17th, 2004, 04:20 AM

[tmbjr EDIT] Xatu...not Natu...comon mistake XD

Kairyu
January 20th, 2004, 07:35 PM
Spearow starts off with peck, I think. It was also one of the very first bird pokemon I raised back in the Red/Blue/Green version days.

Yamichu
January 20th, 2004, 07:35 PM
Ah darn Kairyu, ya beat me to it! I was gonna say Goldeen!
But anyway Spearow can learn the strongest move in the game-TACKLE!

~HORN!

Timbjerr
January 20th, 2004, 07:52 PM
Spearow learns tackle? I thought it's standard move was peck...
*looks up Spearow's movepool at his secret online resource*

...

...negative, Tackle is not in Spearow's movepool XP

so I will change the attack to Pursuit

Kairyu
January 20th, 2004, 08:21 PM
Houndour starts with that attack.. when hatched from an egg:P.

Ah darn Kairyu, ya beat me to it! I was gonna say Goldeen!
But anyway Spearow can learn the strongest move in the game-TACKLE!

~HORN!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 21st, 2004, 08:40 PM
D'oh!! Yamichu beat me to it!

Ok back to the game, I remember rock slide. It was one of my favorite rock type moves. Oh yeah, Tyranitar learns that ability,

Yamichu
January 21st, 2004, 08:59 PM
Tyranitar can learn Crunch!
Heehee! I'm gonna keep beating ya Kairyu! Heehee!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 22nd, 2004, 10:18 AM
Nooooo!
T__T

Ok, enough with that. lol.
Who can learn crunch... Oh, I think Houndoom can.

Fire Master
January 22nd, 2004, 12:31 PM
Houndoom can surely learn Flamethower.

Kairyu
January 22nd, 2004, 12:44 PM
Growlithe learns that ability, eventually. And I still can't believe that pokemon was left out of Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire...:\

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 12:50 PM
Oh darn!!!!!!!!

Growlithe can learn Growl!
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

~HORN!

Timbjerr
January 22nd, 2004, 01:22 PM

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 01:33 PM
Yahooooooooooooo! :D :D :D

Bulbasaur learns Leech Seed!

Ah! Tropius knows that ability:P.

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 01:59 PM
Umm...Tropius it can learnMagical Leaf!
*Gets killed by a Magical Leaf*

~Horn...

Kairyu
January 22nd, 2004, 03:19 PM
Magical Leaf, sounds powerful. I do remember Roselia learning that ability relatively early.

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 03:24 PM
Roselia can learn Aromatherapy!
Man, how the heck do ya spell that? :\

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 22nd, 2004, 04:07 PM
>_0
Aromatherapy? I don't remember many pokemon knowing that one...
But I have heard Chansey learning this technique. I think! Bah I think I'll take a break from this game and let others have at it, for now.

Fire Master
January 22nd, 2004, 04:29 PM
Chansey can learn Pound, I checked it at Serebii.net

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 05:30 PM
NOOOOOOOOO! Don't go Kairyu! I want you to play!
Chansey can lean Hard Boild! :P

~HORN!

Timbjerr
January 22nd, 2004, 07:17 PM
don't you mean soft boiled?

lol

and that is an attack exclusive only to Chansey and Blissey...in the future try to avoid attacks like that...

Yamichu
January 22nd, 2004, 07:29 PM
lol. Yeah I know! Just thought I might trick somebody *looks at Kairyu* I'll Change it too...umm... Mew!
lol. That's pretty much the opposite... :D
It's mah 160th birthday!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 01:43 AM
Hmm not much has happened since I was away:P. Now where did we leave off from, Mew is it? Well, since Mew can learn any ability I will say Ancientpower.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 01:53 AM
YAY! Kairyu's back! *does the YAY dance*
Anyway Ancient Power...hmm... Armaldo!
How ever you spell that...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 01:57 AM
Ohh that Pokemon, a strong one he is:P.
Ironically, he learns Mud Sport early on.

~keep em' coming Yami, lol.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:05 AM
Mud Spot...hmm... How many times have I seen in-game trainers with Linoone that know that!!!!!

This thread is nearly dead with out you replying...plz don't leave again... QUIT YOU'RE JOB AND STUFF AND STAY HERE FORVER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

~MWAHAHAHAHA! HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:13 AM
Bleh, why aren't other members playing along in this game? I can't keep this up forever, lol!

Linoone.. err what does that pokemon know. Oh, he can learn Cut. A relatively weak attack that is almost invaluable during your adventure, am I right?

~Why won't anyone else play? ;__;

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:24 AM
Yep, 100% correct! An A+ to Kairyu!
Cut...OMG I DON'T KNOW! Maybe Zangoose but I'm so not sure. lol. :D
My 190th Birthday and Kairyu might be the only one to congragulate me...

~Come on peoples play! Or get HORNED!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:33 AM
Congratulations!! :P

Hmm interesting Pokemon, I remember I had to trade to get that one, lol. Well one move it does learn is False Swipes, useful when you're out hunting for those hard to find Pokemon.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:37 AM
Thanks! I'd have to trade to get one to! I've got both Ruby and Sapphire but no one to trade and no other GBA/SP.

Anyway congrats on you're 190th B-day Kairyu! :D

Sceptile learns False Swipe!
*remembers hunting Latias with it*

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:46 AM
Heehe, thanks!

I don't think I've ever raised that pokemon before. I'm gonna go on a wild guess here and say he can learn Absorb.

*is still wondering if anyone else is going to post in here.*

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:50 AM
Yep, he learns Absorb (as Treeko) I think it's the first move he actually learns!
Roselia can learn that!
Oh, how I dislike that pokémon... *growls*

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 02:58 AM
LOLz, its back to Roselia again:P.

Like many other grass pokemon, Roselia can learn the very annoying Stun Spore ability. And it is all too annoying...

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:06 AM
I hate Stun Spore!!!!!!!! How many times has it Parylized my pokémon?!?!
But anyway Vielplume can learn that.
(and it really is viel!)

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:12 AM
Vileplume? The first move that I think of when I hear that name is of course, Petal Dance. And for some reason its actually somewhat of a strong attack.

I think I can do a few more but after that I think I'll crash and call it a night/day:P.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:16 AM
Ok Kairyu! I might be the same (it's night here).
I think Bellosoom (sp?) can learn that...meh I'm not sure.

HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:23 AM
I think its spelt, Bellossom.

Again, like many grass types this pokemon eventually learns the flashy technique happily named, Solar Beam. Too bad it takes two turns for it to charge.. unless of course you've used the Sunny Day ability beforehand:).

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:27 AM
Hehe, they won't be happy when I send in my Blaziken though...

Meh, Sceptile can lean that! Yay back to him again!
Now it's my 200th B-Day which is more importent then my 190th!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:32 AM
*Yawn* back to him already? Are you getting lazy? j/k

Well, what else can Sceptile learn you might ask? Surprisingly it can learn Dig. Its good if you really need to dodge that Hyper Beam attack, lol. Just watch out for Fissure... Or you'll be sorry.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:38 AM
This is longest I've ever stayed up PC (it's 9:34 pm now) because there's usually no one to talk to! It's to hot for me to go to bed now (30 something celcius) since I do live in Australia... But...who...learns Dig...
That's simple! Mightyena!

Just tell me when you're going so I can leave too... this place is so boring right now exept for this thread...
Oh yeah Kairyu, you're almost 200 as well! kewl...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:45 AM
Haha, you're tellin' me! Its 1:35 in the morning over here:P.

I don't think I've ever posted so much in one thread but it was fun to say the least. Alright well this is my last response for now, I gotta give the other members a chance at this, lol.

This Pokemon can learn the very tactile ability called Swagger. It can help turn the tide of the battle in your favor if used wisely. I can't say its the most useful ability but it is interesting nonetheless.

~Nice game Yami, you've put up a great challenge!

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 03:58 AM
Whoa man! But anyway see ya! I'll be waiting later today (by your time).
I think Absol can learn Swagger though... I'm really not sure and can't be bothered looking it up...
Oh well goodnight/goodmorning... *goes to bed in such heat and burns up*

It was agreat game though! No doubt about it!

~yeah, horn...whatever...

Fire Master
January 23rd, 2004, 04:46 AM
Hmm I know that Absol can Learn Swords Danse.

Yamichu
January 23rd, 2004, 12:29 PM
I think Salamence can learn that.
It's good to see someone else playing though...

~HORN!

The Vince Knight
January 24th, 2004, 12:02 AM
Selamence can't learn swords dance....
Selamence can learn crunch.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 02:12 AM
Sorry I forgot! (was in a hurry)
But anyway Crunch... Tyranitar!
btw can some one tell me where to find out the moves pokémon can learn? I just don't now a site...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 02:25 AM
But why would you need that?? Don't you know all the moves in your head like me? lol
Anyway, after a quick google search I came up with this one: http://www.angelfire.com/pa4/jman/attack.html
Just beware of the popups ads.

Now where did this game leave off at? I know Tyranitar can learn Thrash, its a strong ability but it eventually confuses you:\.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 02:29 AM
Thanks Kairyu!

Gyrados can learn that!
And if anyone tells me I'm wrong I'll kill 'em! MWAHAHAHAHA!

*wonders if me and Kairyu are gonna stay up for ages again*

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 02:34 AM
No problem Yami!
I'll think about staying up late again, oh wait its already late, lol. Well I'll stay up for at least another hour before I head off to bed.

Gyarados... He learns the ever so useful, Dragon Rage! Its basically a stronger version of sonicboom, almost no matter what it will remove 40 HP from the opposing Pokemon.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 02:40 AM
Hehe only 8:37 pm here...
But Dragon Rage... Surely your fave pokémon, Dragonite can learn that?
I would have been here 3 hours earlier but there was a freak hail storm...that went for 3 hours...*cries*

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 02:50 AM
lol, I would've also been on much earlier but there was a freak Thunderstorm that nearly caused a blackout, so I stayed off the computer for awhile ;__;.

Woo-hoo! Its Dragonite:P. What can he learn.. I wonder. How about Outrage? Similar to Thrash but its a dragon type attack and is of course, quite strong.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 02:55 AM
I remember Rayquaza learning that! Or does it already know that when you get it? I dunno...but I do know I hear more thunder...I don't think it's here though...*looks out window* well if it's not even raining yet then I don't think the storms gonna come back...YAHOOOOOOO!

~HORN yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 03:06 AM
Rayquaza, I know its a legendary Pokemon but I still don't see why so many people like it:P. Anyway, what can it learn... I believe it can eventually pick up Extremespeed. Its roughly a amped up version of quick attack.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 03:11 AM
I remember Arcanine having that back in G/S/C!
Meh, I don't like Rayquaza much either...
Oh yeah, thought I'd add that after looking at the storm radar at browniescoastwatch.com I've found out that there's no more storms! WOO-HA! WOO-HA!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 03:19 AM
*Sigh* I wish I could say the same, from what I'm hearing there will be more T-storms coming my way by tomorrow ;__;. But with Hawaii's mostly erratic weather patterns I can never say for sure, lol.

Arcanine can learn the common Take Down maneuver, it has decent attack power but for some reason you'll take recoil damage from using it.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 03:23 AM
Yeah Hawii's got pretty wiered weather...hope ya don't get a cyclone! lol. *imagines Kairyu still playing this game while being sucked up by a cyclone*

Mightyena can learn Take Down...and other stuff to...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 03:32 AM
Cyclones? Nah, hawaii doesn't those... too often. Usually, they come every 10 years or so. But just recently we did get a visit from one but it barely nicked the island chain, but yeah it pretty much missed.

Mightyena can learn Thief. A weak attack that steals the item the opposing pokemon is carrying, that is if they're carrying an item:P.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 03:37 AM
Houndour learns Thief...via TM.
Houndour is a pokémon...yes it is...
WOOOOOOO-HAAAAAAAAAA! It's my 250th B-day! I'm older then Kairyu!

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 03:41 AM
Well Houndour can learn Iron Tail via TM:P. Its a steel type attack that could (but probably won't) lower the defender's denfense by one stage.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 03:46 AM
Slowbro can learn that!
Actutually quite alot of pokémon can learn it...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 03:53 AM
Ok, last one. I is getting too sleepy to keep up >_<.

Slowbro's trademark ability, Amnesia raises his special defense by two stages. Its pretty useful but it leaves you open to a quick Hyper Beam attack instead, lol.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 03:58 AM
Okay well I guess I'll see ya tomorrow or whatever it is by your time zone...
Mewtwo learns Amnesia naturally...

~HORN! Man Slowbro's got Amnesia as a trademark? He's so gotta meet me...

Sceptile can learn Focus Punch via technical machine. But if the pokemon using this ability gets damaged while charging, it will flinch. But what happens if the pokemon has the ability Inner Focus (user cannot flinch)...? I wonder..

The Vince Knight
January 24th, 2004, 09:24 PM
Slaking can learn focus punch.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 09:28 PM
Slaking should be able to learn Rest...
Sorry Kairyu, I haven't got a clue what happens...

~HORN!

Kairyu
January 24th, 2004, 09:40 PM
Hmm I see.. I would assume nothing would happen since the pokemon with that ability cannot flinch.

Anyway, Snorlax learn Rest. Actually I think he starts with it last time I checked.

Yamichu
January 24th, 2004, 09:46 PM
Body Slam! SPLAT!

~WAAAAAAA! HORN!

The Vince Knight

I'll change it to Surf then...

~HORN!

~HORN!

22sa
January 25th, 2004, 01:54 AM
Staryu can learn such a powerful attack too.

January 25th, 2004, 01:59 AM
Staryu can also learn the somewhat weak called Water Gun attack...

~HORN!

22sa
January 25th, 2004, 02:04 AM
Water Gun can be taught to Rattata in the R/B versions. =P

Yamichu
January 25th, 2004, 02:08 AM
