Factors of an Anime

I just realized a lot of anime had this, so I'm trying to make a list of the factors of what makes an anime.

A dumbass hero boy (Taichi, Daisuke - Digimon Adventure, Naruto - Naruto, Ash - Pokémon, The silver haired dude in Rave Master)

Super cool dude that the hero hates (Yamato - Digimon Adventure, Sasuke - Naruto, Gary - Pokémon)

Some girl that the Hero likes but the girl hates the hero (at least in the beginning) (Sakura - Naruto)

mm I didnt realize that but i think is truth, i dont see digimon, but i once saw digimon 1. But i think you are forgetting the mad girl, pokemon-misty, Naruto-sakura

That's just one genre of anime. You won't find all the same factors in everything.

For example, let's just take Cardcaptor Sakura. Dumbass hero boy? Nope. Syaoran knows what he's doing; none of the other males really count as "heros." Sakura might fit this, but she's not dumb; she actually has a good idea of what she's doing most of the time. =\ Super cool person the hero hates? Mmm... Assuming that Sakura is the hero(ine), it might be Touya? But then again, she doesn't hate him. And guessing Syaoran is the hero, then it'd be Eriol, I suppose.

Ah, I have to get off. But I think I've made my point. o_O More later.

That type of stuff could more or less describe the Shounen stuff, there are a LOT of other things that have different facotrs to it.

not neccesarily most anime categories...probably the group ones of shounen
as a somewhat digimon fan i'd say the 5 person group starter looks something like this

1. Hero (not always a dumbass [no idea where you came up with that >>;)
2. Hero's (Girlfriend[or best pair])
3. Hero's Rival (not neccesarily hated though)
4-5. two other people (varies in different series though)
6. Person joining later in the series

example: Bleach
1. Ichigo
2. Inoue
3. Ishida
4. Sado
5. The cat dude
6. that one guy from 4th squad

or at least thats my basic image of em meh

Yeah I'd have to say I agree with digispirit virus. There is always a hero, a rival, a girl, and some legend or destiny that someone is supposed to fill. For example Megaman NT Warrior.

1. Hero-Lan/Megaman
2. Rival-Chaud/Protoman
3. Girl-Maylu
