This thread is for general questions on the Pokémon N64 and Game Cube Games. Questions you can ask are these kinds of questions, provided with what game you want to ask about (and please do not reply with the questions provided):

1. How do I get to face Mewtwo in Pokémon Stadium?

2. Can I get Pokémon in Stadium 2, just like how I obtained them in the original stadium?

3. In Pokémon Colosseum, how do I obtain Jirachi?

And other questions may be asked as well, provided they aren't needed for a big discussion. If you need to know what's accepted, PM me.

The Espeon and Umbreon you get in the game are always male, right?
Is there day and night in the game? Could you evolve a (female) Eevee into Umbreon in the game which you uploaded from FR/LG? (and then trade it back...)

1. Can you trade Pokemon between R/S and the original RBYGSC Pokemon games if you have Pokemon Collseum?
2. How does Colleseum link up to your GamePak?
3. If it links up using a device (like the transfer pak used for N64), does the device come with Pokemon Collseum when you buy it?
4. Does Colleseum fix the Berry Glitch?
5. What's this about Colleseum deleting the gamepak save data on R/S if it was hacked?

Ooooh, just noticed this place as well (I'm noticing a lot of new places today... :D) Let's get down to some answers then:

Icer:

Yes, the Espeon and Umbreon are always male. No day and night as far as I know of (in Colosseum at least). Yes, you could do that, but you could just do it once you've got the National Dex in FR/LG.

Jess:

I haven't played on it in ages, but I think it's something either: 3500, 9800 or 10000. Whichever seems the most reasonable.

demonchaos916:

1) No
2) Via a GBA-GCN connecting cable
3) No
4) No, but FR/LG and Pokemon Channel (UK only) do
5) Don't use hacks so can't answer that question.

Agh, stupid me!!! *Hits self* Yes... I was just reading the Non-Colosseum Berry Fix on SPP and mis-read it kinda... Once you trade a Pokemon from Colosseum onto RuSa, then the glitch will be fixed. (I don't even have the game yet...)

Well, I don't know how to get through Pyrite, but you get avatars by going to User CP (in the top left of the page), then onto Edit Avatar. You can then select one of the pre-made ones, or upload them from a website. It's best to ask general questions in the Help thread somewhere.. but still, you're new. Everyone was sometimes...

I know pretty much everything about Pokemon Colosseum, but there is one thing that I'm confused on... is the e-card room in the U.S. version, like it is in the Japanese version? And if so, where? I checked all over Phenac City, where it's suppose to be, but I couldn't find it. I saw it in the demo movie that came on the bonus disk though. :\

Ok, here i have a Very, Very simple question:

Lugia -> Pokemon Colosseum= possible? Other than by trading it from Fr & Lg...
It is my fave Pkmn you know... :)

Latios Master

GymLeaderLance99: I think so. Try it out to make sure.

Silver Ball: The only way to get Lugia to Colosseum is by capturing it in fr/lg and trading it. There is no other way.

I have beaten the Deep King and I was supposed to get the e-mail from the Kids Grid. I didn't! I entered again, and I got Ein (I didn't snag the Raikou in the battle before). So I started my way up to the Deep King again. Is there something that I have to do after beating the Deep King?

August 15th, 2004, 07:31 AM
You need to do this in Colosseum mode, not in story mode. Use the 6 Pokemon in your Colosseum squad to complete this version of Mt Battle. Oh, there will be legendaries, so have fun :-)

Mr Cat Dog
August 26th, 2004, 11:44 AM
In answer to KARR'S question, you need to have snagged all the other 47 Pokemon. Then you'll receive the e-mail from Kids Grid. I had this problem with Tropius... so I had to go through the whole ending sequence again :/

As I understand it in the original stadium 1 & 2. Playing through them you were awarded with pokemon that you may have not been able to get before.

So if you started with Charmander or Cyndaquil. You were able to play N64 say stadium 2. Then get Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Chikorita, Totodile also the pokemon you get from fossils. So on and so forth.

Which leads back to my question. If I play Colleseum and win outside of storymode. Will I be awarded any of the starters that I don't currently have so that I can finish my pokedex?

Thanks

Professor Oak
September 15th, 2004, 11:26 AM
I currently have 36 of the 48 obtainable pokemon in Colosseum, and I am at the final boss. My questions are as follows:

1. How many pokemon can be "snagged" up to this point?
2. If I defeat the the boss (and "snag" all of the dark Pokemon), will I still be able to "snag" the other Pokemon? (I know that you can obtain all of the dark Pokemon that you have caused to faint, but I was wondering if that applies for the ones that you have yet to battle. I am not sure if I have battled all of the trainers with dark Pokemon, so...)?

Thanks in advance for answering.

in pyrite city in pkmn colisseum, where do you go??

Dragonfree
October 18th, 2004, 12:01 PM
games2k4: No, you just get the Johto starters in Story Mode and then Ho-oh after beating Mt. Battle in Battle mode with your Story Mode Pokémon.

Professor Oak:
1. If you're at the *final* final boss, there's one he has and then two after that, which makes 45 Pokémon available before him.
2. You will be able to keep snagging after beating the boss, yes.

PikaPal: You go everywhere you can.

Psychic Kimmy: Purple Writing means a Move that a Pokemon can only get through a Cheating Device.

ChuChi: You cannot get Celebi on Stadium 2.

pokemunna: No. Only ways to get Jirachi are:

1.) Colosseum Bonus Disk
2.) British Pokemon Channel

Maybe it's something similar to a throwback for the old Stadium games, where your Pokemon's nickname determined slight colour changes for your Pokemon. I noticed this with my Venusaur - it's eyes changed to bloodshot red when it was attacking.

I have a small question about Pokemon Colosseum. I just bought the game today and I've been wondering...how do you (if you can) give a Pokemon a nickname? I've heard you can do it, but can anyone tell me what I need to do to nickname my Pokemon? Any help at all is appreciated. ^_____^

Kelsey: it is possible, but only to shadow Pokemon that have been purified at the Pillar, later in the game, so in case you're wondering, you cant nickname your Espeon and Umbreon, or Plusle, which you shall recieve later in the game

I guess this is simple. Can I list of all the Junior Trainers and Evil Characters in the game? For the Junior Trianers, all I want is just what they are like Cipher Peon, Roller Boy, etc. and please identify if there is a male and/or female version. For the evil ones, there name and what they are. This includes the ones with Croconaw, Quilava, etc. Thanks :)

2.) enter the police station (the first orange door to the right)
3.) go to duking's house, go to the secret room behind the bookshelf, come back, watch the movie with duking and silva.
4.) talk to the guy standing behind the desk in the pyrite colosseum. he'll mention something about cail.
5.) bo to cail and battle him.
6.) go to the place that gives energy to the colosseum and that guy staggers out.
7.) talk to the guy inside, watch the movie when everybody comes in.
6.) go the construction lot and gett the stolen gear.
7.) return the gear, beat the colosseum knockout challenge.

You can´t use GBA as a controller. If you didn´t catck Yanma don´t worry. Yanmas´trainer is in Snagem Hideout. If you go in and out you will eventually find that traienr somewhere in the Hideout.

I doubt that. Not getting the Master Ball, I mean.

A. Every game has a Master Ball

BAt the port, visit the machinery shop and tell Roose of your trouble. He will tell you that he has been working on Mecha Kyogre, and lets you use it to travel to Nickeldark Island. Before setting off, however, head back to the Pokémon HQ Lab first to get a >masterball< from Prof. Krane. Then, embark on Mecha Kyogre at the harbour of Gateon, and off you go to the final battleground.

I made the key word bold so you could see it. If you're wondering, this is how I make my points. Thanks anyway, though.

In XD, how do you get a Maxed Out Tempo in the Purification Chamber?

Ok you can go to the lady in the pink dress in the Pokemon HQ labs and watch the demo but if the doesn't make it clear here's an easy set.

four normal types in one grouping will give you a maxed tempo.

ralts, mahita, poochneya, duskull would give you a max tempo.

Psychic, Fight, Dark, Ghost.

You see you need to know a pokemons strength and weakness for it to max out with 4 different kinds of pokemon.

So if you had all three startes from any of the games. Fire , Grass, Water and of course something strong against Water or Fire.

Just rearrange them till you get the right combo.

Snorunt, Mawille, Ground type, and I think a Fire type in there will give max also. Look at your pda and stragety memo's you can get all weaknesses in there.

My question is,
Is this the time you are supposed to use the Master Ball?
Or is there a more powerful Pokemon coming up (I'm thinking Ho-oh)?

Is this the time you are supposed to use the Master Ball?
Or is there a more powerful Pokemon coming up (I'm thinking Ho-oh)? Well if that Pokemon has a Dark Aura surrounding it, that is his most powerful Pokemon, you are talking about the President right?. If I remember it is either Tyranitar or Metagross, but I haven't played it in forever XD.

And the only way to get Ho-Oh, is to obtain all shadow Pokemon, then purify them and then beat the 11 trainer battle tower thingy using a Colosseum team, you can't use your GBA team, it has to be one on the Colosseum game.

Yes, it's Tyrannitar, and my question is, is there a more powerful PKMN to use the masterball on?
Or do you just get Ho-oh as a gift or something wiht out having to use a Poke ball?

If you defeat all 100 Pokemon trainers in trainer tower with a Colosseum team on the Colosseum game, Ho-Oh gets given to you as a gift, it gets transported to your box automatically without the need of capture.

1) You can use the MAster Ball on any pokemon.
2) It is best to use the Master Ball on Tyranitar.
3) IT is easier to use the following cheat:

1. Have first pokemon use the Master Ball
2. HAve the first pokemon select the Master Ball in the items menu. Use the X or Y button to change its position with another type of pokeball.
3. HAve second pokemon perform any action,
4. The pokemon that the master ball has been used to snag will be caught, and the master ball (and the ball u switched it with in the items menu) will still be there, so you can use it again.

***NOTE: This only works in Colosseum, NOT XD.

Keep in mind that while it's the most powerful Shadow Pokemon, it isn't the LAST one. THere are still 8 more or so...it' sbest if you use the above-mentioned code.

I have a question about XD: I remember hearing a while back that Celebi was available in XD, but I haven't seen any evidence of it...is it true, or is there another pokemon available as a bonus (like Ho-oh was in Colosseum), or is it just the wild & Shadow Pokemon and that's it?

Some of these questions don't have an answer. There is no "best team" to use in colosseum. It all depends on how you play and how you can balance your team, and the game creates various ways for you to do that. And the best 44 pokemon to purify Lugia, you just have to experiment time and time again until you get it right.

riginality Fails
November 23rd, 2005, 05:15 PM
so you have to have 8 other shadow pokemon to purify?
and each shadow mon has to be a 4x effectiveness on the secelted purified pokemon?

no. Here's a good example:

Swellow (Facing Exeggutor)

Exeggutor
Dugtrio
Electabuzz
Spheal

In a cirlce like that. Swellow is facing Eggy because Flying > Grass. Eggy pointing towards Duggie because Grass > Ground. Duggie facing Buzz because Ground > Electric. Spheal facing Eggy because Ice > Grass. See how it works? Also, there cant be two pokemon of the same type in a set, otherwise the Flow goes back to regular. Accomplishing a set like this makes, iirc, a "Best Circle". As the number of "Best Circles" you have increases, the Flow in all the sets will increase too, assuming they have Best Circles as well.

Lugia has to be around pokemon as well, irrc. btw, not only Are Gligar and Zubat flying types, but Roselia and Zubat are poison. Also, the Shadow pokemon cant be the same type as the other pokemon either. And you have to have Best Circles in all 9 sets to purify lugia.

ya lost me there.... I'll try to explain to the best of my understanding of your questions:

Lugia must be in one of the sets. All 9 sets have to be "Best Circles" for Lugia to be purified, including the one Lugia is in. Once that is accomplished, it will say "Something's different with Lugia.....Maybe....." or something like that. Then once you stop editing the sets, it will take you to the set with Lugia in it. Press A and its purified.

riginality Fails
November 23rd, 2005, 06:21 PM
say lugia was the last pokemon i had to purify, would i still be aqble to or do i have to dump 8 other shadow pokemon and walk around?
or does lugia purify straight away after "fddling" with the sets

Synchronize
November 23rd, 2005, 09:06 PM
straight after. Look at it like this:

If the shadow pokemon are purified, then there is no best circle, which you need for all the sets.

If that confused you anymore, then just straight after fiddling with sets

Ichaste Pekoni
November 26th, 2005, 03:08 PM
...Ok, let's put it this way:

All of the other circles can have no Shadow Pokemon (meaning Lugia is the only one) and Lugia will still be purified, as long as they are all at perfect tempo.

Oh, BTW, for the sake of purifying Lugia, you CAN have more than one Pokemon of the same type in a circle as long as there's a perfect tempo (Shoot, I had a circle with 4 Normal-types and it still worked).

FR/LG/R/S Happiness- Feed them lots of expensive stuff like Protein and Carbos if you are rich. Dont let them faint in battle either, they makes them dislike you. Other than that, just be a good trainer and they eventually like you.

If you're referring to when Bonsley is on the ship, you can't sneak up on it, it just runs away. Later on you'll find it in a Poke Spot where you leave some Poke Snacks. I'm not sure if you HAVE to sneak up on it, but to be safe, walk up slowly to it when you find it at a Poke Spot.

Did goundon, kyogre, ho-oh, lugia and the regis appear in the quick mode of XD?

Q1: No they don't, iirc.
Q2: Once the Robo Kyogre is built (you'll have to talk to Makan inside the Parts Shop at Gateon Port), exit the building and you'll get an email from Prof. Krane, telling you to come to Pokemon HQ. Talk to him and he'll lead you to a basement where you'll find the Master Ball.
Q3: Go see Emili's mother at Gateon Port, who's house is next to the Parts Shop:

Acri wishes to write a novel
featuring you as the main character, and wants to interview you. If you do the
interview, say "Yes" three times to obtain the Amulet Coin, say "No" three times
to obtain the Quick Claw, say "Yes" twice and "No" once to obtain the Mental
Herb, and say "No" twice and "Yes" once to obtain the White Herb. You can only
obtain ONE item, so choose wisely.

That'd make it too easy IMO, especially with that Rare Candy cheat in RBY to trade a lvl 100 Charizard or something over to XD. Besides, the GCN and GBA had so many changes, I assume, that there would be too many problems connecting from GBC to GCN.

Ok, here's the solution I found while using Battle CD 48 Side B. There was no hax (paralysis, freeze, critical hit, etc):

1) Lugia uses Icy Wind, so Have Latios used Protect and Latias use Thunderbolt against Ho-Oh
2) Have Latios use Psychic on Ho-Oh, and Latias use Thunderbolt on Ho-Oh.
3) Finish Ho-Oh off with Latios and have Latias use Recover.
4) Have Latios use Memento on Lugia, and have Latias use Recover.
5) Use Thunderbolt on Lugia.
6) Have Latias use Recover when it will be KOd on the next turn.
7) Repeat until Lugia raints from Thunderbolt.

Keep in mind that Lugia and Ho-Oh sometimes switch targets, in which case they mostly attacked my Latios when I used Protect. Still this is a decent way to be the Battle CD. Try and tell me how it goes.

You won't be able to trade until you've beaten Grand Master Greevil at the end of the game. After that, the trade center in Phenac's Pokemon Center will open and you can trade to the GBA games, provided the Pokemon you are trading have been purified.

The only thing close is the Orre Colosseum within the Story Mode. I wish I could explain it better, but in the mean time, just ask if you need me to explain again.

Only having had Pokemon Stadium 1 I know that its possible to have triple speed mode while playing the gameboy games on it.
Question - -
Does Stadium 2, Colosseum or XD offer this fast mode of playing and if so how do you get it because I know that in Stadium 1 you must complete a portion of the game to get it??

Neither Colosseum or XD allow you to play GBA versions of the game. Stadium 2 can, but I've forgotten if the speed option is there or not. Pokemon Box can let your play Ruby or Sapphire versions, but again dunno about the speed.

i keep reading a lot of different ways to get Ho-oh in colosseum. i know i have to purify all the shadow pokemon, but does it matter if i use pokemon that i traded from R/S? and is it true that if i use the Time Flute i won't be able to get Ho-oh?

it seems too hard to win 100 battles against lvl 100 pokemon using only my pokemon from story mode

Toothache
March 30th, 2006, 05:51 AM
Getting Ho-oh isn't as hard as you've been led to believe. You can use either your Colosseum Pokemon or a GBA team. First thing to do is purify all 48 Shadow Pokemon. Either way, register the team (using a different held item for each), and select Mt Battle Challenge. Single or Double mode doesn't matter. Then just battle your way through the 100 battles, bearing in mind for each perfect victory you get a continue. Which is helpful, because they are not shy against using legendary and uber Pokemon. My Colosseum team usually consists of Espeon, Umbreon, Suicune, Raikou and Entei, plus a filler or supporting Pokemon (get your Vibrava to evolve and give it the Earthquake TM for a good suggestion). All the Pokemon you face are at the highest level of your own Pokemon, but at least L50 (so if your highest level Pokemon was 80, all the Pokemon you face will be L80, even if the rest of your team is not). Besides, it's really easy to level up in Colosseum, so level imbalance shouldn't be too much of an issue.

It's actually not as simple as that--you need max tempo in all rooms of the chamber. This means that all of the Pokemon in each room need type advantages over one another in the circle.

An example of Pokemon that you can catch in the game would be:

Spinarak -> Houndour -> Mawile -> Lunatone

Bug is Super Effective against Dark, Fire against Steel, Steel against Rock, Rock against Bug. As long as one type of one Pokemon is Super Effective against one type of the Pokemon after it in the circle, it counts.

You have to do this in every room, then put Lugia in the middle of any one of the rooms and it will instantly be purified.

BTW, if you live in the UK and want a Jirachi, get Pokemon Channel and complete it, you will be given the option to download a Jirachi to a GBA. Only works in the European version though :-)

I gots a question about Ho-oh. I know that u must snag and purify all 48 shadow pokemon, then beat Mt. Battle, with your Colosseum team, and that the Colosseum team must be registered. My question is, couldn't i just trade a team of really powerful pokemon from something like Emerald Version, register them as my Colosseum team, then use them for Mt. Battle, or do I HAVE to use the original Colosseum team from my game? I can give u guys an example if u need it.

You can use any pokemon currently in your story mode, traded or original. So yes, you may take pokemon from your Emerald version, trade it to Colosseum, then register your story mode team.

Also, I believe the chances of getting a Shiny Jirachi from the bonuse disk is the same chance as all pokemon have of being shiny.

In Colosseum, Meditite can be found as a Shadow Pokemon, in the hands of trainer in the cave on the way to your first fight with Miror B (Rider Twan).

In XD, you have to trade with Duking to get Meditite, by trading a wild Trapinch to him.

in pokemon XD,what do you have to do to trade with the gba games(im using emerald and ive beaten the elite four)?

You also have to complete Pokemon XD by beating Grand Master Greevil at least once. Note that with Emerald, you can trade directly to Colosseum before you have either the National Dex and have beaten the Elite Four.

You're talking about Pokemon Snap, eh? Well, first you have to go to the Canyon Level (Sorry, if it's the wrong name, it's been a while since I've played it) until you get to the point where you have to activate a switch by hitting Mankey with a Pester Ball. You will unlock a secret path where you will find Professor Oak, and he will then tell you about the Pokemon Signs. Now you'll be able to snap them and go to Rainbow Cloud to find Mew.
Remember: the switch can't be hit by Bait or Pester Balls, you have to knock out a Mankey from the top of a hill, and hit it again so it'll fall onto the switch.
I hope that helped you, Dragonoxygen.

I have a few questions about Pokemon Colosseum.

1.) Do I have to beat the main story in Colo. in order to be able to trade over my Pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - FR/LG
Yes. It's a long fight (especially the Realgam Tower) but you'll get there.
2.) Can you trade Pokemon back and forth from Colo. to the GBA games?
Well, you can trade between Ruby and Sapphire straight away. But as for FR/LG and Emerald, you have to get the National Pokedex.
In FR/LG you have to get the Ruby and Sapphire to be able to trade with R/S and then you can also trade with Coloseum. Pain in the backside, I know, but if you don't get them, Coloseum won't let you trade.
3.) If so..when you trade Pokemon that evolve from trade like Kadabra..Graveler to Colo. and back..do they evolve by this method?
Oh yes. And I assume it also works for Pokemon that evolve from trade while holding items (Slowpoke with King's Rock into Slowking).

You're welcome, ~Patrick~

It means that he's somewhere else. Use the Miror Radar item, and it'll tell you where he is. If he's in a Pokespot, you'll just battle him right away. If he's in a city, you need to enter a Colosseum Tournament and he'll be one of the trainers.

In XD, you get the Rain Dance TM (no 18) from beating Battle CD 23 (Aerodactyl vs Kyogre).

If the Miror Radar activates, go to Key Items and select the Miror Radar, then select Use. It will tell you exactly where the afro headed guy is.

All this time I also didn't know that I could actually look at the Radar to see his location, just thought it went off & had to guess where he was. I didn't think it was an actual item in my items but just a item that I had...

Anyway, next question. Where can I get evolution stones in XD? What I found or was given etc I have used but I need to evolve more Pokemon such as my Growlithe & others. Can I buy them or will I have to use a Pokemon with the ability 'Pick Up' to pick up items? Cheers.

You can't buy evolution stones. You get one of each type during the game (Thunder, Water, Fire, Leaf) plus one more stone from the Eevee fan at the start of the game if you wanted Flareon, Jolteon or Vaporeon (the Moon Shard and Sun Shard count as Key Items).

CheersPokémon Colosseum is a hybrid between Pokémon Stadium and the RPG games. The RPG part of the game takes place in a new region called Orre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orre). In the game you battle an evil organization called Cipher who wants to take over the world with Shadow Pokémon (many of which are from GSC generation). Shadow Pokémon are Pokémon that are modified to be more powerful but at the expense of compassion. It is up to you stop them and purify the Pokémon.

The poke flute completely purifies one pokemon, so it's best used on one who's hard had to purify. Don't use it on Pokemon that have the door to their heart part open either, as that's a waste.

The same way some pokemon are hard to catch, some are hard to purify. That Lv 30 remoraid you snagged is going to be purified after a few fights and 500 or so steps. The metagross you snagged, however, will easily take five times longer. Common sense says use the time flutes on pokemon like that. The three legendary beasts are the hardest to purify, and that's when I used my time flutes.

I think this is the right place to ask this questions.

On pokemon crystal i think there are 5 chambers that you need to solve a puzzle(something close)while i was at one chamber the floor broke and I fell to some room full of signs of the uknown (of course when you solve one the floor opens, but there is a chamber that has some items and while trying to get the the floor broke a part and the room was not the one you always fall in to).
does it mean something?
what happens if you open all chambers?
is it connected to celebi?

AC drain
January 5th, 2007, 12:32 PM
I never did much with the ruins of Alph, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with Celebi. Actually, I'm pretty sure each time you fall through it just releases more of the 26 unknown into the main chamber. (Which is kind of worthless) There was some nonsense floating around that you could catch Celebi with some effect from the forest shrine, but it's not true. The only way to get it now is with a cheating device.
