Too keep Other Games relatively clean during E3, each of the big three gaming giants will have their own stickied discussion threads. Once this is unlocked, feel free to post.

Being the Nintendo Fanboy that I am, I'll be spending my time in here. I can get you guys high resolution screens and box art, that is if I don't get my access taken away by then. T_T;

Enjoy!

*is so tempted to do something* But...I can't. Sorry. Anyway...

The trailer had me drooling until Link turned into a werewolf. What the heck? I don't want Link to be a werewolf. When has Link ever been a werewolf! Eh...This game was looking perfect to me until I saw that. Whatever, they know more than I do about this, so hopefully their judgement is right.

Twilight Princess. Interesting title. That shot with Zelda (so she was the hooded figure! :o) reminded me of the North American GBA ALttP commercial.

When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured.

Interesting. Sound familar no? I'm going to take a wack and guess that this has something to do with the Dark World, or Evil Realm if you will. While in the Dark World you are changed into whatever your heart reflects (ie: Link = Rabbit in ALttP). But why would Link turn into a werewolf? Something is up? Maybe we don't have such a nice Link this time around...

BTW, that link you posted is to TSA's site.

The wolf thing is probably just another "theme". Every Zelda game has one. Just think of it as another Majora's Mask-like morphing system. Think about how great it'd be if you could morph into birds and other sorts of animals...

Anyway, Zelda is going to be one of the greatest games known to man, so I won't go on about it. At the minute I'm more hyped-up about a machine that I already technically own... this (http://media.nintendo.com/mediaFiles/82821f02-4142-4401-bcb2-a3bb122cc86f.jpg) little thing. :D

The Game Boy Micro sounds like a stupid idea to me. They've released the bloody system three times now! Just give us the Game Boy Evolution already! Jeez.

Anyway...

It's only the first day. But it better pick up. We've got some still pictures of the Revolution. Very slick, but very bare. It has a logo, but my God it's small. At least put it on the side of the system so it's big. Whatever, the look is going to change by the time it's released. It's not final yet. I see nothing for memory cards (sorry Erica), but it is going to use SD memory cards (didn't they say that last time?), and I see a covering over the slot (I'm assuming the glowing light of blue is where you put the discs), so we may have Memory Card support (I hope), maybe the USB ports can be used? It's 100% wireless (er...controller wise). Yay! (as is Xbox 360 and the PS3...I think. I see no controller slots on it. Heh, the PS3 stole the Spider-Man font. Lol). So, whether you like the idea of all wireless or not, it's here to stay apparently. But, I'm upset. Where are the videos, the screen shots. I want Revolution game footage darn it.

I'm excited for Mario Kart DS. Graphics have improved since it's last showing, but I liked how the 64 version looked better. But..OMG! it has courses from all the previous Mario Kart games plus it's own new games.

The GBM doesn't even flip open like a AGS. The screen will get so scratched.

I just watched the Mario Kart video. The courses from the old game look like the old games. Like Super Mario Kart looks pixelated and Super Circuit has the GBA washed out colour look. Lol Genius!

New Super Mario Bros., looks good. The bottom screen's purpose confuses me. Metroid Prime Hunters looks better than ever. New GCN Kirby game!

Shinin

The new GCN Kirby game has been known about for a while. And yeah, the GBM should have a clamshell design.

I think it looks good, but come on, this will be the 3rd version of the GBA. Frankly, I'm more interested in the GBE.

It looks like Super Mario Bros. DS may have co-op, so if it does, that'll rock!

Mario and Luigi 2 looks KICK ***! Looks like baby Mario & baby Luigi play a role...

It's going to be a launch title? If so then it will be great, but looks like they would do like it's been done before (have the system come out and have the SSB game come out later).

Link isn't a werewolf, he turns into a wolf. A werewolf is a cross between a man and a wolf, not a man who can turn into a wolf. And the little elf guy's name is Midna.

The Game Boy Micro is... tiny. I hear it has illuminated buttons in the dark, too. Night play would rock. XD

Although I guess my eyes would have to squint. The display is like, 90% of the current GBA/SP?

If it has a reasonable price, I'd get one over the DS.

... Triffy: There's a trailer!? Where!?
That's it, I am SO going to secretly cheat my assignment to find it, unless you make it easy for me. After all, I am allowed to download. I can't spend too long at PC, so moderating is... evil. Is there a URL lying around?

Humpf, this sounds like Wind Waker. "Oh, the graphics are so stupid Im not going to play blah blah". Now Link is a Wolf. I do not like the idea, but we have to wait and see how that will be included into the jogability~

What's wrong with a werewolf? He's been worse... A plant, a fish, a fat brownish tan creature that rolls around, that goblin creature he turned into in LoZ once in the dark world, &... That's all I can remember. Anyways, surely a werewolf isn't that bad?

Tendo - I don't recall Link ever being a goblin, especially in LoZ. Bunny in ALttP, yes that I remember.

Perhaps we shouldn't be calling him a werewolf or even a wolf. Wolfos perhaps?

I'm just skeptical tis all. Had I had a computer and internet prior to MM, and I saw pics of Link's transformations I probably would've freaked out like I did with this. So, I think it'll all make sense in the game in some way or another.

I've got some Zelda info.

- The horse's name is up to you. YOU NAME THE HORSE. But is it Epona? We can name Link, but it's still always Link.
- The term used to speed up the horse is "Whoop" (the whiping action down in OoT with the carrots)
= Upon successfully herding animals "YEE-HAW!" appears on the screen.
- Link's hometown IS Toaru Village
- There is someone named Fado in the village. Sounds a bit like a trouble maker. Another girl named Ilia is in the village aswell and a boy named Colin.
- The hawk is Link's "little friend" and he can call it to perform tasks
- A new Link, different from TWW and OoT
- Storywise a few decades after OoT
- Emphasis on animal communication
- Takes place in Hyrule
- Forest Temple is a dungeon
- Hint system
- No top view dungeon, although camera is a bit different than usual
- Music is like TWW's dynamic and cynamatic elements and scroe
- No speech, there are mouth animations, but only text. Sound noises like in past games.
- Lantern, Red Potion and Gale Boomerang are items

Triforce, I never actually finished the abbrev. I ment to say "that goblin creature he turned into in LoZ:ALttP in the dark world." It's just been so long since I've played the game that I couldn't quite remember what exactly he turned into so I just said something. //ShedRain said pink bunny after my post anyway so I thought that would have clued you in on what I ment.

Fado was a sage in Wind Waker...
*nods* And TP apparently takes places before TWW, but post-OoT. Maybe it'll shed some light on what exactly happened to Fado.

And yes, that post did clue me in. That's why I restated the bunny fact.

Nothing big on the Revolution just gives of Twilight Princess to talk about. Not that that's bad. ^^

Anyhows, I really like what I'm hearing about the fighting mechanic in Twilight. I've read that they started out using the same mechanic Wind Waker used, but changed it so much that it's practically new.

i think its sweet that he has a hawk - i love hawks/falcons and it seems like it would make a nice companion to link and epona (after the hawk they have to stop with the animals, though, or else it will turn into "The Incredible Journey" video game).
I also agree - i really like what i am hearing about the new fighting mechanics, it seems to give you a lot more control than in the n64 games (when at times you felt kind of "limited"). I also like that IT DOESN"T HAVE THE STUPID CELL SHADED GRAPHICS!!! that was seriously the stupidest idea of any zelda game - ever.

If this was Gamefaqs, everyone would be calling you a graphic whore. But here, only I am.

And Link doesn't have a hawk, you can summon them by playing plants (like how you can use a blade of grass as a whistle IRL).

"The sporty, silver metal Game Boy Micro measures a mere 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside today’s hippest technological gadgets. It weighs an astonishing 2.8 ounces, or about the weight of 80 paper clips. Yet Game Boy Micro has the same processing power and plays the same games as Game Boy Advance SP models, complete with standard face controls and gleaming shoulder and Start/Select buttons that literally shine."

Sure, Nintendo isn't promising things like having a system thats 30x better then the old, and the graphics on the Revolution may not be as great as on the other systems, but I've always found Nintendo's games a LOT more entertaining then those of Sony and Microsoft (Bleh!). I at first thought the same way pretty much everyone else has about the GBM - its stupid. But the more i looked up about it, it seems really cool. If it is cheap, why not get it? I like my GBA, and even though i use my DS for its games, i could play all of them on GBA and not care (except that the screen isn't lighted). None the less, it is really cool - its very small and portable, and like someone else mentioned, you can bring it to school and play it without it being huge in your pocket. Also, i like the new design - it looks SOOOO cool. Plus, they are coming out with customizible face plates, which may not seem like much but let you personalize a game system like never before. It becomes more than a remade game system, it becomes your own personalized, tiny system. Of course this is just my opinion, but after reading up on it my opinion changed from "thats stupid" to "thats really cool." Maybe you just have to read up on it and give it a chance before completely dismissing it. plus the DS can't play old GB or GBC games.

Lucifer
May 22nd, 2005, 09:45 PM
Exactly. I was on a fairly long train ride the other week, but wasn't prepared to bring a GBA or DS along purely for the fact that they're too big. Portable consoles are all well and good when you're playing them, but when you're on the move with no bag you have to lug it around in your pocket all day. The GBM is more like a mobile phone and far more travel-friendly than the SP and GBA.

Dark Penguin
May 22nd, 2005, 10:06 PM
yeah, mobile phone is a good description. you could take it if your going to a party or sumtin that could get boring, so if it does you could just whip out your GBM and play it. I only bring my DS if i KNOW i'm going to play it, while i could carry my GBM around with me constantly.

What do you guys think of the Revolution? Before E3 and the unveling of the Revolution's capabilities, I was XBox all the way, matter of fact, I knew I was never going to touch another nintendo related console/handheld ever again with the coming of PSP. But, since I've seen/heard the capabilites of the Revoltution, the one seller for me would have to be the "old school" gaming, where you'll actually be able to download games from N64, SNES, and NES. And one other thing, Wifi online gaming... I just keep thinking if they made a SSBM 3 and made it online... where I could pwn you with pikachu 3,000 miles away... 0.o... :P
