Pokemon newbie needs help - how to teach an attack

I got Pokemon Gold from a friend and I'm already addicted to it ;). I also already have 2 badges. The 2nd one can be used to teach Pokemons how to use cut (that's what the GYM-leader Bugsy told me). It was the gym in AZALEA TOWN.
I already used google, but I couldn'd find anything useful. People were told to teach that attack ("CUT") to a Pokemon, but I don't know how to do that!

Could somebody please tell me how my Pokemon can learn "CUT" and other things!

go into the bag,then use the right arrow on the control pad until it gos to the section with the tms/hms and select CUT,i hope this helps!also you get the CUT hm in the forest near azalea town

be careful, because you may not want to give cut to your best pokemon. That was my mistake in my first game. Cut, as well as other HM moves (with the exception of Surf) are not very good attacks, and can NOT be replaced with another move (you have to go to a town at the end of Johnto to take them off). I would Cut to a pokemon you don't really care about, so you don't have to waste a good move slot.

The problem is that there is not CUT in that bag (actually in none of them). There's only "MUD-SLAP", 'SWIFT", "FURY CUTTER", and "SWIFT".
But the trainer told me I could use cut with that badge :nervous:

That's because you don't have cut probobly.

I think you go in the foest near Kurt's house and save a farfetch or something then you get it.

Never min, I figured out my mistake! I didn't have it yet, I had just the badge!
But it is not compatible with my Pokemons! Which one should I catch that is compatible with CUT?

go find a grass type pokemon somewhere(Easily noticeable- you'll be able to find a bellsprout in the routes before the cave that gets you to the city before Ilex forest. It will be able to learn both cut and flash(of course when you easrn it- just like cut)

Most grass types can learn cut;so go out searching for them.Be sure you want the pokemon to know cut though cause they cannot forget cut for a new move unless you take it to the move deleters house which I much further into the game.If you have any further questions be sure to start a new thread ^^.
