Ok, thread is resurected, so here comes a new front post

I started the hack years ago, released the alpha.


I then continued the hack, but then cb got popular, and pirated. I am now burned at the stake if i say that i made the hack (no one believes me anymore :( )
Anyway, its been two years, and there MAY be work happenning to it.

Will it still be called pokemon chaos black?
Chances are it will be called Pokemon Chaos Black: Echoes of the Temporal, in order to diffretiate between the versions

When will Beta 2 be released?

Its not out yet, so nowhere.
But when it is, you can lurk around and find it

What will be new in it, compared to beta 1?
1) Redone maps - The old ones sucked.
2) More new pokemon - The reason people play chaos black.

Looks great, I remember you was a newbie to romhacking and only know how to sprites. which have Fudge to do all of the hacking work for supevo approx 2 years ago.

Now, you know how to romhack with fudge's help...hehehe....

BTW: The only two Mew3inc related hacks's current production have been known yet for the time being - Alexandrite and Alpha.

Ok, recently i was in the region and thaught i would take some snapshots of my trip (where you will be able to go in the beta)

First off was my home of espout, a quite little town with many rocks. Apparently the champion of the pokemon league also lives here.

The first town i reached was Overtre, a very "green" town

When that was over, i headed west over to Route 2. Nothing much here, so i rushed through it.

Wow, what a fun trip, next up it seems is Pothim City, Split into two sections, the pokemon trainer area downtown, and a "high end" housing area up, complete with a museum that is seemingly identical to the one in pewter O.o;

the connections have been changed, and i tried changing a tileset but when i did that, i was unable to open the rom in elitemap so meh. ANd i have no need for changing map sizes.

Learn to spell 'called' and 'where' properly please. The screenshots were on the last page if you looked but he took them off the hosting site so now they're red X boxes. I'm with this hack all the way and if there's anyway I can help then just ask me (I'm good at spriting).

Anyway, heres some nifty info

Atm i am spriting again, did 7 more sprites today, which although it wasnt much, i didnt have that much time to do them, and tehy were mainly backpics (although i finally resprited malley, like everyone wanted me to)
There will be 151 pokemon in this game
42 of which will be old pokemon from previos generations
around 50% of pokemon sprites have been done (including the old pokemon, which are still the same sprites :P)
Im tossing up between having resprited tilesets. Any opinions?
I hope to have around 80% to 100% of the pokemon done by the beta (for many reasons)

59% of total pokemon sprites are done

35 of the 151 pokemon are old pokemon (plus gonbe which makes 36, a nice even number :P)

That makes 115 new pokemon in this game, 47% which is sprited so far...

almost half way there

2 things:

1- you can change all that in the emulator by changing the savetype
2- YOU COULDNT GET TO THE ELITE FOUR IN THE ALPHA!.... Cheater >_>;

Bah, having some hacking troubles at the moment tho. I used my friends program to change the pokemon names (thats mew3's poketronic .7 XD) (yes im to lazy to hex) and the pokedex became all messed up. I bid you warning over that, and i think that was the main problem i had with the alpha, and the reason i restarted. Luckily i caught it on early eh?

plus, all the info i need to put into the ini so i can use baseedit and bewildered. Plus to rub salt into the wound (which always feels good.) i have no idea what to put. But im getting this all done quicker than i expected, so thumbs up and eat the candy!


Edit:> Anyway. Gave the hack back to mew3 for a while so he can do some stuff.

An update on Pokemon Sprites:>

68% pokemon sprites complete (thats 103 out of 151 pokemon), including old pokemon
57% NEW pokemon sprites complete (thats 68 out of 120 NEW pokemon)

Ill update that number reguarlly so you can see how many pokemon will be in the beta.


Now, some other info.

All the area up to first gym is completed, with the gym being dark.
When i get the rom back, ill edit up to the next gym.

this "saving problem" is from the original FireRed ROM itself. when the FR rom first came out, there was a save patch that was in order for you to download and patch to the rom. since there's only an ALPHA (jeez enix, people don't seem to get the whole greek ordering concept), you shouldn't be so concerned about saving the game through the ROM, and should instead, save it through the emulator.

also, i just wanted to say i completely support this game even though i haven't played the alpha yet. it looks real good, and i hope things are working out for ya. ;)

Ho! Seems like I'm not the only one who noticed a certain demo phrase hack was being pirated! And you said it came from China? They must have been some large exporters to have exported it to the South East Asian country of Malaysia, cuz my friend owns one of these pirated cartridges. And he was convinced it was an official game too, wait till I print out this page .... Well, I don't like to give credit to fan made game piraters, but that actually gave me an idea of how your game is like. I've never played it before, and I have to say(in a strange way, since this would also be crediting the pirateers ><), Im impressed. The most impressing part was that your trade feature actually worked, I managed to trade my Haunter & Kadabra, and got them back as Alakazam & Gengar without a single problem. It appears as thought they had made a pirated version of your beta/demo version, thought why they picked your game in particular still puzzles me. yeah! (astrix's are cooool) its one of my favorites. Its origanal sprites from supevo arent as good tho, but each sprite has been cooler and cooler.
oh, and you have some pretty cool sprites there in your fakemon thread i noticed. I would be proud to put them in the area after #151. But never without your permission XD

If the game is put on a cart, it freeze's everywhere (mainly the first gym and the pokedex (meaning you cant catch any new pokemon))

so if you buy the game, you are worse off than you were with the alpha :1

Enix, I would like to apologize for KebaSun, now known as BlackRainbow*, who has been supposed to work on the hack and help you somehow but he has never started. I also would like to apologize for myself not being helpful at all, but my computer got a nice, big wipe-out thanks to disk formatting accidentally run by one of my family members (I was so angry...) and I didn't talk with you via any form of communication since then.

Whenever you need something, feel free to tell me. I think I would be a good help when fixing up sprites a bit, and I could script for you, too. I have learned a bit since we met for the last time ;)

Its not really a new vid (its been up for way over a year).

Anyway, its not EcruteakGym, but it is influenced by it. M3 wanted something different for the first gym so thats what we ended up doing.

Also, its updated alot, one of the reasons was that i started again after the alpha (beta1), namely because it was buggy and i hated it. Dont worry, most if not all the pokemon carried over, and the fire lion is a starter so of course it is back.

No, i certainly did not steal them. I origanally made flaon and its evolutions for the unreleased hack of m3's burning red. Then, i added them to chaos black when i started it. It was one of the first pokemon to be inserted. This of course happend FOUR OR FIVE years ago, so unless someone managed to create flaon sometime before the five years ago (unlikely to be pixel perfect), i would directly beleive someone is taking credit for MY sprites.

The same thing happened with my mewthree sprite not too long ago. :(

To be honest, when i first played this hack i thought some dude just went crazy w/ the map and sprite editor, but i played it for a while i found that its acualy quite an alright hack...this being all over youtube, this hack acually got me into playing pokemon hacks.

Wow, for the first time for a LONG time you can actually get past the first non starter town. PROGRESS!

ok, so i took some screenshots to compare teh two games, and i must say that the origanal chaos black is bad. Worse than bad. Almost unplayable. And the town maps? Same as fire red. How could anyone play the alpha?

I've seen this hack all around the internet before, and I was pretty impressed with it, except the thing that it was unfinished. Now it looks MUCH better from the images, videos and reviews that I've seen before...

Mew3 Inc EX needs a web designer to make us a layout if anyone is interested, tell me ASAP. If not I'm going to have to make it, that will take even more of my hacking time..

Also, im thinking october/november at least for the beta release, although it will probably be next year some time knowing the speed we go here. Its hard to work when its hard to get in touch, with such a huge timezone gap. Its only four gyms long, but thats longer than a certain mewthree would want to release.
