RPG stands for Roleplaying Game, which is basically a game with a specific storyline in which you play a role. Need I say more?

Yes, like Ty said, an RPG is a type of role play or game in which you take the role of a character to play along with the chosen story line. If you need any examples, check "Other Roleplay".

I suppose you could take examples from multiple games you play. For example, Pokemon is an RPG because you take the role of a character, giving him/her a name and exploring the region/s that is available. RPG's normally have long story lines and many are very in depth, though RPG's may have many sub plots and it also gives you the chance to go off the original story line and do as you please.
