what are they for? what if any is there purpose? (except to get unknown) and wat are the funny markings all about? is there something that allows u to reed them?

I think the funny marks may be braille, which is used elsewhere in the game, or it could just be the different forms of unown.

I have noted, however, that Tanoby is an anagram of Botany, and that the names of each Island may also be anagrams. I was able to work out one other, but that was it.

any one here reed brail and whats botany it rings a bell but i can't remember what it is. also do you know what the pattern of the pattern is supposed to represnt if at all?

I'm pretty the game has been hacked and there is nothing else in there apart from unown.Which is kinda a let down

Botany is the study of plants, and when added to Bay, names the first landfall of Captain Cook in Australia ( I think- you aussies feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!)

I think the other anagrams could be plant or flower names, but, as I said, I could only work out one other.

i think that it is just a cool enviornment to surround the Unknowns in. nothing more; maybe they just placed it there to confuse people like us and make us waste valuable time learning brail or something to find nothing - lol - you never know with gamfreaks

the unknown only apear after you open the door in the middle of the island the one with funny marks on it but i can't remeber how to open it it. inside there is a switch u need to push if you push it tghe unknown will appear.

Yes,You need to go to island 7 and realese the Unknown first.

There nothing in there except unowns. NO super powerful pokemon, nothing.

IT just brille on the walls. I havn't got to translate it but it probluly saying something about harmony just like the ones on the other islands

Unless you really love unowns, the islands are quite useless. You don't even get an unown dex v.v;;

In response to topic: Other than wasting time to get the Unown alphabet, there's nothing else there. The Unown are pretty cool, though.

the dots in the Ruins.....hm........ I checked in my sapphire/ruby book but I haven't seen a braile letter in the ruins so I think they're just the look.
(Who has caughten unknowns? and who hasn't? If you have't caughten an Unknown before, PM me!) Also Unkowns are WeAk but I collect the alphabet for fun but it's ery stupid that Uknowns only know one move. My friend said they are so I agree

I have 3 1/2 boxes of Unknowns.......but the ruins are for the Unknowns because each ruin contains different types of Unknowns in their alphabet

i got 27 of them all i need is the ?mark one. then I finish my collection with every starter and unowns(starter in one box unowns in the other)
