Caught moltres with a great ball

I am so happy I cuaght moltres with a great ball!
I had bought 50 great balls for any occasion and then saw o/man i cant catch moltres with a great ball
And then goes to know it I did!
But after losing 20 great balls to catch it I finally did
Has this ever happend to you? :D

There might be a thread like this. Well I hardly have any moments like that but I have some situations when I want to break my Game Boy. When I was trying to catch a Larvitar, it kept escaping.

I had a similar situation. I was trying to catch a Suicane(SP?). I went through six of my pokemon. and FINALLY I caught it with my graverler 1 point away from fainting.

yeah, i'm not surprised. Great balls are half the price as ultra balls and only have a 10-15% less rate of catch. In fact, I never buy ultra balls when catching legendaries – I just buy a ton of great balls because they are so cheap. In my FR game I have caught both Articuno and Zapdos with great balls; I caught Moltres with a poke ball – great balls weren’t working, I was on my last pokemon, so I said what the heck and threw my ONLY poke ball, and sure enough, by sheer luck, caught the stupid thing.

Hmm... catching a legendary with a Great ball, I can barely catch them without them escaping with many ultra balls XD.

thats why you save the money and buy twice as much great balls. even though the rate of catching may be a little lower, it'll make up for it in quantity.

Heh, I had a friend who caught Raquaza with a Pokéball. XD

Never happened to me bofore, though. But I did catch Mewtwo with an ultra ball on FR, because a "guide" (which was really a story-ized guide to red/blue. XD) I was using said to use a Master Ball, and I enjoy contadicting things. XD Wasnt hard iehter, I threw twho or three times and caught it. O_o; So I STILL have my Master Ball. XD And I just recently succeded in capuring Raikou with an Ultra ball, it's probably the hardest dog since it has thr Roar attack. .___.;

I caught a Lugia if a pokeball in my Gold version, after spending like 40 Ultra balls and 30 Great Balls I throw my last bal I have (a pokeball) and it stays there o_O

Well on my LG I caught Articuno with a Net Ball, I was so surprised XD, Because it was my last ball besides my Master bal and i didnt want to use that.

LoL, i catch everything that i can with a great ball... unless its weak and not worth it, but i catch all legends with greatballs(all but kyogre- netball fo him), yes inculding mewtwo and the other level 70's. its just fun to try lol.

moltres was pretty annoying to catch though...

sweet prince... i've caught moltres with a pokeball... but let me say this... took me about 75 trys until it worked, with 2 status effects running all the time, frozen, sleep, etc... and then had the health at like 50HP or something, XD.

it's not fair that each time you start a new game that the ID changes its just not fair becurz i started a new game and traded my bulby and when i traded back its not the ID i have before WWWWWWHHHHHHAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (crying)

I usually have a 'home' game which I never restart. The thing is, I usually only have one game, so I never really get to restart... >_<

Anywho, I caught Zapdos in a Poké Ball. The odds are so low, it really doesn't make any difference. Bigbird (Zapdos, XD) is now a handy extra. :)

I agree with Dark Penguin; Great balls are almost the same as Ultra balls, but on topic I caught a Moltres once with a Poke ball.

I've gotten Kyogre with a Pokeball.

In FireRed/LeafGreen, I caught Moltres on turn two.

Turn one.
Moltres attacks (don't remember XD).
Lapras used Surf! Critical hit! (left Moltres with one HP XD)

Turn two.
RShadow through an Ultra Ball.
Moltres was caught!

Aww I need to go back and play my Japanese save file. XD
