Unless Derek Stephen Prince or Chris McFeely (which I highly, highly doubt) are playing a late and mean April fools joke, we have confrimation that the undubbed Digimon movies are being dubbed

Finally...It only took them three years...

I can't even remember the show, even though I used to be obsessed... Are they even worth seeing? XD

I just heard about this today, someone told me Grace had translated them~. I'm glad that they're dubbing them, but it'll be interesting to see how they release them - whether they combine some of them, as they did with the first three. I doubt they'll be released in cinemas, though, as they are fairly short. David, they're probably worth watching, although I doubt that the dubs would be better than the originals. I've watched the fansubs and they're decent, though. Digimon tends to stay truer to the Japanese version than Pokémon, so I guess we can keep our fingers crossed.

From what I've read they'll probably show up on whatever channel Disney is now (since they own the rights to the dub in America). One at a time, or all four at once I guess.

I'm hoping they'll get some release in Australia, at least - I'd guess they'll put them all on one DVD.

Oh, I had no idea there were other Digimon movies... I've only seen the dubbed one that came out here in like, 2000. XD I used to love the show! Do any of the other movies that will be coming out here feature the characters from the 2nd season?

The 4th movie is about the 2nd season, the 5th and 6th are about the 3rd and the 7th is about the 4th....If that made any sense...XD

1 or 2 Years back I saw like the first 5 in Japanese I think. I've always enjoyed that series but only the first 2 seasons. I don't mind the 3rd but they keep changing the main characters when things could've been more in-depth with the original cast. I wouldn't mind seeing them in english, I bought the first english movie they released.

On behalf of all Digimon fans, all I have to say is this: It's about time.

Finally! I've loved the English one and the 5th movie in japanese was ok.. I hope they don't change it to much and these should be awesome! I've been dying to see the 4th movie one with the 2nd season cast but I never found one with sub-titles. :D

More news from Chris McFeely:

Another nugget of undubbed movie news!

Word has reached my ears that the movies are apparently intended for broadcast - details are unclear, but probably on either ABC Family or Disney. No-one in the recording studio when the question was asked were sure.

I think it's just way too late. Most of the Digimon fans have since lost much interest in that animé (including me, although I still have a soft spot for Digimon).

Apparently, from what I've heard, the movies are gonna be just for broadcast. Refer to my other post here for further info.

Isn't Jeff Nimoy the one that gave us those horrible one liners? (about the only thing I didn't like in the dub) I'd like it if they did come out on DVD or something...but all the movies are too short really, and only five and six could be sold on the same disc.

Geometric-sama
June 24th, 2005, 05:54 AM
Well, since they already have the first 3 out on one disc (if you could call it that) they could put the rest on another. Are they going to dub X-Evo?

lol, i just noticed today as for the first time I popped the DVD in and watched it, lol... that in the middle of the movie it just totally switches the story, lolol... maybe being 5 years ago is what made me not notice... sweet for the movies getting dubbed... even tho ppl say digimon is pocket monsters ripoff, etc, etc, I still think that series rocks, XD.

Stated at Digimon Encyclopedia, but originally posted at the Digimon CCG Forums as of yesterday :

"Revenge of Diaboromon" (4th movie, 2nd of 02) will make its U.S. debut this August on Jetix! The movie airs Friday, August 5th at 7 p.m. on Toon Disney, and then the following morning, Saturday, August 6th at 9 a.m. on ABC Family.

Though the dates and times are subject to change since their schedules for August won't be out for at least two more weeks, this at the minimum shows that at least Movie 4 won't be combined with any of the others to make a full-length feature. I'm not familiar with the particulars, so I don't know if anything would have to be changed in Movie 4 to adapt to the dub of Movie 2... not that there was much to change to begin with. Hopefully they don't cut/edit out anything, 'cause considering its runtime, they'll need a lot of fill time for that hour.
