The lower levels of the Sulphur Cave have deep rumbles and changing light intensity, pity I can't show that.

@Dawson:
The screenshots look interesting, though I have a few comments.

The cliff tiles end abruptly each second tile. Perhaps you could fix this by making a few different cliff tiles?
Some tiles are really light, and could probaly benefit from being a little bit darker.

Looking away from the nitpicking. I like the screenshot, and I'm looking forward to hearing more about this game in the future.

The perspective of the tree graphics do not match the perspective of everything else, causing them to stick out.

On another note, the blonde character reminds me of Sailor Moon.

I agree with what avatar said about the tress they look slightly off. Well anyways i thought i would post a bunch of screenies on here to get some comments before starting a new thread with my new project. Just a few to show the health bars etc and the inventory, menu and stats screen, ignore the sprites they will be changed and so will the fonts. Everythin else is drawn by me!!

There's a reason why there are so few types of houses, and I can't believe I forgot to say :P
It's a camping site. They're cottages that people rent to spend their holidays. The place is really called Camping Site.
The odd one out is where you can rent the houses :P

I really like it, even though it's still alpha and not much is into it :P
The tileset is really nice too. I can't wait to see Sol & Luna develop ;)

The map looks great, but a part of me thinks that it might be a bit too small once NPCs are added and etc.
If an NPC blocks those parts of the path which only 1 tile's used, you won't be able to move around properly.

Screenshot of a city called Lazantheus, from Legacy of Guardians. It's not 100% complete, still need to add in a few more people and a couple of animals. The chipset is completely custom made, just like everything else in the game. For more screenshots and info, check out the site and forum. Links in my signature.

I'm making a swampy place...

These tiles were annoying to set up. Some trees sit in the water, others are on solid ground. The grass is faded as though dying, or starved of real sunlight, or just overwatered (it is wetland). You can walk in the water, as it is shallow. The tall, tall, reedlike grass is where the wild Pokémon appear. The whole area is shrouded in a mist. The main problem is getting trees in water to slot in smoothly with trees on ground, but I seem to have got it right.

Phew... after a long period of planning (and absence), I'm back to mapping... though I feel like my mapping skills have deteriorated quite a lot... so, I'd like an opinion on this. Please disregard a layering error on one of the small trees.

Story:

The game follows the Trunks Movie Special.
Two deadly Androids are made by Dr Gero.
Goku dies in the beginning of the game caused by a heart virus.
Later all the Zwarriors die except Gohan and Trunks.

Anywayz, I think most of the people saw the Movie.
If not check google for information.

Features:

Default Battle System.
Legacy of Goku sprites.
Cool Cutscenes.
Ki battle's.
Fun minigames.
Side quests.
Big maps to explore.
A world map.
And alot more wich will be revealed with updates.

Well, I started making a pokémon game long time ago, but I gave up several times because of my school.
But now I have good grades and I'm gonna get into my project...
The game's still untitled and doesn't have much to see...(that's why I don't release a demo)

But here are some screenies if you like please comment, if not, comment anyway...XD

Screen1:A wild battle with a metapod.I don't plan on doing a CBS for this...

Screen2:Encounter with Ho-oh.(It's not sure that it'll be able to be caught)

Screen3:Inside the cyber cafe.Take your seat and enjoy your time...

Screen4:The second city of the game.It has a gym and a nice Cyber cafe.(You can listen to music while chatting and reading scraps)

Screen5:Battle with Ho-oh.Note that the trainers are battling it.But using trainers for important battles is useless...
They can' take damage from it...

Well I hope you like it, if ypu wanna help me out with this, contact me.
If you know scripting please, I need your help...

Oh, I forgot to mention, the game is made with RMXP

Idea for a game

You are living in Shetan a region close to Hoen.
Groudon and Kyorge fled to Shetan after they where beated in Hoen.
They are sleeping now, but soon they wil awake.
You have to become the Pokemon Master of this region so you can enter a special place to awake Rayquaza and safe this region from complete destruction.
This time you rival is the leader of "the badguys". Team (have to find a name)
She will try to stop you cause she wants to catch rayquaza. If she has rayquaza she will ask lots of money to save the region.

Special Features
-No move repleasement (cause i dont believe pokemon are that stupid they can only remember a few moves)
-Less pp (cause we have lots of moves)
-A (fe)male (other gender) will join your team afer elite 4 to help you in the double battle against Groudon and Kyorge. (She,He is the champion you defeated and she has 6 pokemon: Latios, Latias, Dexyoys , Charizard,Typiloxion, Blaziken)
-You can go to a beauty contest with a combination fo 2 pokies ( male and female) to impress the jury with how much they love eachother

Yes, you are right. That is an error.
I noticed it after I had already showcased the map, so I haven't uploaded a fixed screen shot yet.

That tile set is amazing..

There isn't much to tell about the tileset. If you want it. You should be able to find it under Mack & Blue (or First Seed Material) on most RPG Maker websites.

Hi there, I am surprised my account still exist, since i only used it for a couple of pms.
Now, those screens aint engl. and are not all that new, but since most games here are more tradional in their style, its something different than the usual stuff.
So enojoy, or complain. (but please not about my engl., thx)

1.)
Battlesystem, jet in development, currently waiting for engl. D/P realease to get data for all new attacks. still a lot work to do.
2.)
Titlescreen and selection for main stroy or some mini missions with minor characters. (Antimon for antique monsters, explaination would be a maior spoiler, but its not just about some legendary but from background lore)
3.)
load/save menu (last point is an automatic saveslot who saves after x min)
4.)
HUD and textbox, ignore the tileset/characters, still unfinished.

(ps: That url posts only after 15 posts rule sucks, i guess why its there, but still took like forever to upload via attachments...)

I like it, but the chairs and table in the second screenshot are weird, but that's from the original tileset, so we can't do much about it. I specially like the way you resized the message box... nice touch.

The message box isn't resized... Or maybe I did that with my scripting n00bness when I tried (and failed) to change the screen size? Anyway, I like that message box too, so I guess my screen-resizing failure was a good thing!

Well, you could definately improve the graphics of the item menu. And you didn't expand the backpack right, it's a little too thin compared to its height. Also, the menu window's border could stand to be improved too. Finally, what I see of your mapping it atrocious. Still, your scripting seems to be going vell. How are you coming along on the battle system?

Ha ha, way to kill a guy's self-confidence. Seriously though, as far as the bad graphics and bad resize goes, don't worry, it's just a mock-up. The final version will be alot better. I was actually looking for comments more like your one about the border. Thank's for the feedback, I'll see what I can do about that.

well, I knew it was a quickly-made mockup. Still, try also making the center of the message window semitransparent. (I'm not sure if you did that, it's just a suggestion.) Another suggestion for your budding scripting skills is a "secret base" kind of thing. Just a suggestion. Finally, try adding little touches, like animations. They can make a WORLD of difference.

If by animations you mean the battle animations, then of course those will be included.(heh heh, as soon as I can find them). The secret base will probably be held until the second major release, the "collector's edition". Oh and about that mock-up me and some others decided it doesn't really seem very pokemon, so I'm gonna just drop that one and make a new one. I'll post it here when it's done.
(Oh and btw, I didn't use a message window at all. I will in the rela thing, but there's no windows on it for now.)

how are these







For the most part, I'd say they look a little overcrowded and confused. Also, in the first one, those things you use on the borders of the river or whatever aren't exactly in the best place. (They are intended to be used with another kind of tile)

Actually, it's pretty good. I'd give it an 9/10 simply because it could be improved, but it's just really hard to do so.

@Krypton-knight EX: awesome maps, very detailed (what, for me at least, is different from overcrowded). The first town reminds me of Tales of Phantasia's towns. Very good job I'd give a 9/10 because I see some tiling errors.

juz wanna know how you added sprites and tiles. for example, the tree sprite (the big one), i want to know how you make the upper part of the tree visible when you put another tree above it. And i juz wanna know where you got the prog.

hmm x.x Well, the first one is alright, a little plain, but it matches the original I guess. The sign looks a little strange though.

The Second looks good, but the signs are still a little wierd. Again, simple, goes along with the originals
8/10

The Third looks good. Nice diversity in the houses, matches the original, and is still unique. Simple though, and strange sign again XD

@FlameGuru: The screens look nice, as said before, simple, and they follow the original very closely. I think that might be a problem. Be creative, add and remove and replace and move stuff around.

These are some Screenshots of my game in its very early state. I know there are obvious mistakes like the HootHoot is named Oak and the stats are identical for both pokemon. Thats because they are test screen and havent been configuered 100% properly yet. Let me know what ya think ok.

The graphic color style kind of reminds me of the style on Mother, but slightly better. If you can just add simple shades to the trees and houses, everything would look great.

kitoshi that looks good the the enemy and hero bars need an outline if you're going to make the transparent don't you think? and that background doesn't really match with the battlers other then that it looks pretty cool

Well, I heard 2D characters in a 3D environment was effective, so that may be why you thought the background doesn't really match with the battlers.

I tried to do an outline on the transparency while I was experimenting but I didn't like how it looked.

I'd really prefer not to use the generic background the official Pokémon games use;
