To whom it may concern,
I know about the failed Stargate fanclubs here at PC. I know that there are more Stargate fans here than those who choose to reveal themselves. So...yeah. This is the latest incarnation of the Stargate fanclub here at PC. If you're a fan of either Stargate the movie, Stargate SG-1, and/or Stargate Atlantis, feel free to join! Standard club rules apply here (no flaming/spamming/swearing, stay on topic, have fun, et cetera). If you don't know what Stargate is, then don't join. Got that? Good. Have fun here, and I really hope that this club will succeed where its predecessors have failed.
Sincerely,
Jack O'Neill, Founder/Owner of the PokéCommunity Stargate Fanclub

As a long-time fan of Stargate and Stargate SG1, I feel drawn to join this club. I have been a Gater since the beginning way back in 1997. And I must say, fans of Teal'c, Bra'tac, and the Jaffa: Tek Matte

So what does everyone think about Season 9 (the next Season)? Think it's going to suck? Or be good? Or add a new twist to SG1? Or whatever... So what do you all think about it?

I'm looking forward to season 9 but to season 2 of Atlantis even more! Holy cow I swear I pooped myself at the finale!!! 0.0 There's gonna be a new enemy for SG-1 and also Amanda Tapping isn't gonna appear in the first few episodes due to her maternity leave after having the baby. There's also gonna be two new recurring characters in Atlantis. Some dude who they save from the Wraith, and a rogue Asgard. Woah....

As for Season 9, I think it will be a new twist for the show. RDA leaving, Amanda dissapearing for the first quarter, a new SG1 member, a new General, a new enemy. It's going to new, different, surprising, and (braces for flaming) dissapointing (No O'Neill)

OK, you're all in the club, every single person who posted here so far.
I think that Season 9 of SG-1's gonna be a major disappointment. Beau Bridges is a good actor, but Ben Browder or whatever the heck his name is just can't hold a candle to good old Richard Dean Anderson. The presence of Hank Landry and Cameron Mitchell just isn't enough to fill the void left by Jack O'Neill. Samantha's gonna be absent for the first few episodes (Amanda Tapping just had to go and have that baby), so they're gonna have that chick who hijacked the Prometheus fill in for her (or so I've heard). Daniel looks ugly with a goatee; I swear, Teal'c or Bra'tac could easily mistake Daniel for Baal, and you know what's gonna happen as a result. Looks like Teal'c is the only member to SG-1 to make it through unscathed.
Perhaps the only good thing to come out of Season 9 is the Ori. There's nothing like evil Ancients to fill the void left by the Replicators and the Goa'uld. Face it, the Goa'uld are all but gone now; all of the major Goa'uld except for Baal are either dead, missing, or currently fighting Oma Desala (read here: Anubis). As for the Replicators, well, they won't be coming back anytime soon. XD
I miss the days of yore when General Hammond, Dr. Fraiser, and Jacob Carter/Selmak were still around. Back then, Jack actually went offworld and kicked butt alongside the other members of SG-1. By the way, what happened to the Tok'ra and the NID? We haven't heard from them in ages. *ish wondering*
As for Season 2 of Atlantis, well...you're gonna have to get back to me about that. Just who is that bearded guy, anyway?

Regarding the Tok'ra, after the attack on Vorash decimated their ranks (Season 5-Summit/Last Stand), and the death of the originator of the Tok'ra species (Queen Egeria, Cure, Episode 6), and the death of Jacob Carter/Selmak (Threads, Season 8), they are still in hiding after the episode 'Death Knell' in Episode 7. It may be safe to say that we will not be hearing from them anytime soon.
As for the NID, they have disbanded, and ex-NID agents now call themselves 'The Trust'.

Darn, the Tok'ra are still hiding? They should've heard that the Goa'uld are all but gone by now; without the Goa'uld to oppress them, they should be coming out of hiding.
Was Egeria the only Tok'ra queen in existence? How come the Jaffa aren't used to incubate Tok'ra symbiotes? Why didn't Jack kill Colonel Maybourne when he had the chance (and he had many chances to kill the little rat, BTW)?
Murpheos
June 17th, 2005, 05:13 AM
The Tok'ra believe they are different from the Goa'uld, and they oppose the oppression of the Goa'uld, including slavery of the Jaffa. The Tok'ra never take hosts without their permission, unless there is no other alternative.
Egeria was the only Tok'ra queen, she spawned the original Tok'ra, but very few Goa'uld came over to the Tok'ra side when Egeria started the Tok'ra just over 2000 years ago. She was then captured by Ra and put into stasis on the world of Pangar. (more story i can say later)
Jack O'Neill
June 17th, 2005, 05:20 AM
I already know about what happened to Egeria after Ra exiled her to Pangar. *coughtretonincough* So she was the only Tok'ra queen? That means that the Tok'ra are all but extinct now.
You still didn't answer my question regarding Colonel Maybourne. Why did Jack pass up every chance he had to kill the rat b******? (You can tell that I don't like Maybourne that much. Who doesn't hate Maybourne?)

There is a long-running arc between O'Neill and Maybourne, bus as of current times, O'Neill does not want to kill Maybourne anymore. Here's a list of important O'Neill/Maybourne episodes:
116 Enigma: MB tries to apprehend the Tollan refugees, but is stopped, and makes no good first impressions
210 Bane: MB tries to take Teal'c while he is morhping into an alien species, but TEal'c escapes. MB wants Teal'c to change, but this doesnt sit well with ON
214 Touchstone: MB has lost the second Stargate, leading ON to believe MB is using t illegally
314 Foothold: MB comes to the rescue when Carter escapes a alien incursion in the SGC
318 Shades of Grey: In a sting operation, ON is approached by MB to join an unofficial team that steals artifacts from other planets. The illegal group is arrested.
407 Watergate: After fleeing the U.S, MB falls in with the Russian Stargate program, giving them information o the Stargate. After the situation is over, Maybourne is arrested and taken back to the U.S
415 Chain Reaction: ON gets MB out of jail in order to uncover information about Senator Kinsey's involvement with the NID and blackmailing General Hammond. MB helps ON, but escapes to Hawaii(?) with help of the President.
511 Desperate Measures: MB comes back to the US to help ON find Carter after she is kidnapped by a wealthy, but sick, man. ON then believes that MB shot him.
514 48 Hours. Teal'c is trapped in the gate, and MB returns to help ON uncover information about the NID and the escaped Goa'uld. ON still beleves that MB shot him, but still allows MB to tag along.
615 Paradise Lost: MB comes to ON with information about a planet with advanced weapons. Under the guise that he needs to go to the planet, MB activates a transportation device and dissappears, with ON close behind. Presumed missing, ON and MB start to have halucinations and turn on each other. After getting shot (twice) by ON, MB prefers to die then go back to Earth. ON then decides to make peace with him and asks the Tok'ra to relocate him offworld.
813 Its Good To Be King: ON locates MB after the Goa'uld have begun attacking more planets. With MB's help, SG1 finds Ancient technology to use against the Goa'uld, and MB continues to be a supposed King among his people.
Just short info, but ON and MB still arent frineds, but ON doesnt want to shoot MB anymore.

Quotes From SG-1 That Involve Maybourne Being Threatened w/ Bodily Harm
Maybourne: If you hit me, I'm gonna have you court-martialed, Colonel.
Jack: I'm not gonna hit you. I'm gonna shoot you.
Maybourne: Teal'c, it's good to see you well.
Teal'c: In my culture, I would be well within my rights to dismember you.
Maybourne: Gonna turn me in?
Jack: Actually, that overwhelming desire to shoot you has come back.
Maybourne: Hi, Jack.
Jack: You rat bastard.
Maybourne: Hey, hey, hey! Take it easy!
Jack: I am so gonna kick your ***!
The one with Teal'c is my personal favorite among those four quotes. There's also this one:
"Maybourne, you're an idiot every day of the week. Why couldn't you have taken just this one day off?" -- Samantha Carter

You can't kill Harry, he is a king now. On top of that we needed someone that would stab SGC/SG1 in the back every now and then. But since he got dropped off on the planet by the Tok'ra, he kind of went good and you can't kill him now. XD
Who I want to see wacked is Kinsey. I hate that guy, he needs to be wacked. XD
Season 9 oh SG1: I don't even know what to think about it. Getting rid of Jack is still a shock to me, and I found out ages ago he was going to be gone in Season 9. I think it's a really bad move, I just fear the show will go down hill because they got rid of Jack. I hope they pull a Daniel Jackson with Jack. Having him go away for a Season and come back the next Season.
Season 2 of SGA: Right now I want to see SGA more then SG1. I want to see what happens to John (I know he lives but I still want to see what he does). I want to see what happens to Ford (he had a messed up eye in that SGA Preview last Monday) And I can't wait to see if the Daedalus is going to kick some Wraith butt.
I'm just looking forward to SGA more then SG1 (they are making too many dang changes to the show it's ticking me off).
I didn't like it when they killed off Fraiser. Getting rid of Hammond was the worst, I liked him being the head of the SGC. If you ask me, he did a hell of a lot better then Jack. Jack going off world was for him. Not sitting behind a desk giving orders for the whole SGC. Even the ep where you see Maybourne you hear him say "God I miss going off world". It isn't right for him, and he gets promoted to Major General (2 Stars for the ones that don't know XD) in Season 9. So that's not going to help him go off world more.
And I also can't wait for the game. Stargate SG1: The Alliance. I think it'll be good.

It was actually Sokar's mothership that was destroyed, as it was orbiting the moon of Netu, which was destroyed by the Tok'ra's weapon. After being tortured by Sokar's Jaffa, Apophis used a hidden blade to kill the Jaffa and escape Sokar's grasp. Apophis then used a ring platform to transoprt himself to Sokar's planet, where he took command of Sokar's massive fleet.

Tch. That lucky...
Btw do the Ancients come up at any point in later seasons? As I understand it there was an Alliance of 4 races long ago, that also included the Asgard... if not then does someone at least know what happened to the Alliance? The only clues that were were seemingly on a planet inside a castle where a man was left abandoned back in the '60s when they 1st opened the Stargate and then couldn't reopen it to get him back, but then that place collapsed so, meh, all knowledge is lost again... >_<

June 17th, 2005, 09:40 PM
Well as we all know the 4 big races was the Ancients, the Asgard, the Nox and some race called the Furlings (I'm spelling by ear here so I don't think it's spelled right XD). We know the Ancients moved on to Pegasus and then Ascended and left Atlantis. The Nox are still around, you get to see them in Ep 7 and the ep where Skaara gets rid of Klorel on the Tollan home planet. The Asgard you know are still around and always downloading their brains into a new body XD. Now the Furlings, I do not remember seeing them at all. And I'm almost sure I saw all the SG1 episodes.
From what I know the alliance still stands. It's just everyone went their own ways and moved on.

Hmm... well that's one thing settled... oh and another thing -- that machine that Jack build when he was high on info after having it uploaded in his mind... it broke after the 1st use, and then they fixed it to summon the Asgard in a parallel universe infested by the Goa'uld. I agree wholeheartedly. Kinsey deserves to die. He needs to pay for all of the grief he's caused the SGC ever since Season 1. However, we haven't heard from him ever since he was taken as a host by the Goa'uld that the Trust captured...

You mean that weird ZPM Jack built after the first time the Ancients' knowledge was downloaded into his brain? I don't think that they took it back from the Goa'uld-infested parallel universe after they contacted the Asgard there.

However, we haven't heard from him ever since he was taken as a host by the Goa'uld that the Trust captured...I don't think he's dead. The very last time you see him is when he takes that Hand Device. He isn't someone you would kill without showing him die. So I don't think he was on the ship when the ship went buy buy by the Prometheus. Even Tanith got his own little death part in 48 Hours, you got to see him die so why wouldn't you get to see Kinsey die? He's somewhere out there, I know it.

Tanith had a pitiful death, considering his ties to Teal'c. I mean, a long shot with a glider cannon, I think Teal'c and Tanith should have had a big hand-to-hand fight, and Teal'c throwing down a pit or snapping his neck, something more fitting for someone who killed Teal'c love.

Yup. Kinsey is still out there...somewhere. Who knows? He might as well have become a System Lord by now.
And yeah, just why did they ditch Jack's homegrown ZPM in the alternate reality, anyway? If they had known just how useful it would be later on...

Other Ways That Teal'c Could Have Killed Tanith
- Shooting him at point-blank range with [insert firearm here]
- Zapping him three times with a zat (Yay for disintegration!)
- Decapitation
- Dismemberment (In his culture, Teal'c should be well within his rights to dismember Tanith...just like Colonel Maybourne! XD)
- Throwing him into the vortex caused by the establishment of a wormhole
- Shoving an armed grenade up a random orifice (Try and guess where Teal'c's gonna shove it... XD)
As an aside here, here's a little "humor" I made up a few minutes ago.
The Gate whooshed into life, and SG-1, the Atlantis team, and several familiar faces dashed through, carrying a mangled corpse covered up on a stretcher. The Iris slid smoothly into place after them, and the Gate disengaged and shut down.
General Hank Landry strode purposefully into the room. "Who's on the stretcher?" he asked.
Samantha looked over at Daniel, then at the body on the makeshift platform. "It is Lieutenant Colonel Mitchell, sir. He is dead," Teal'c said dryly.
Landry raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
O'Neill took off his hat and ran a hand through his hair.
"Well," he started, "Teyla hit him with a Wraith stunner. Daniel, Jonas, Dr. Weir, and Dr. McKay each shot him seven times. General Hammond blasted him at point-blank range with a shotgun. Dr. Fraiser got several M-16 clips into him as well. Ford, Sheppard, and I each emptied two full P90 clips into him. Sam hit him with a zat twice, and Teal'c shot him in the groin with his staff weapon. Bra'tac and Selmak got him several times with their Kull Disruptors. Apophis, Sokar, Baal, Hathor, Heru'ur, and Yu showed up and used their ribbon devices on him. Oma Desala even struck him with a few bolts of lightning. Just to make sure, we hit him with a few other things as well."
"What did you hit him with, General?" Landry calmly asked.
"A Wraith Dart, two Death Gliders, a Puddle Jumper, and an Al'kesh," O'Neill replied, grinning widely.

There were 2 SGs on earth, one in Egypt an' one in Antartica. They blew up their 1st SG in an attempt ta stop a black hole from destroyin' earth, right? An' now they're usin' their 2nd SG after unsealing that iris on it. I have a couple of Qs that come from this:
-the 1st time they made it to Antartica b/c of an explosion during transition an' got to the 2nd gate they couldn't "dial" home b/c it was the same "star address", well then how on earth did they make it home through the gate in the Cheyenne Mt. Complex everytime they dialed home from another planet and never ended up in Antarctica until that blast?
-any explanations as to HOW that other SG made it there? There would be absolutely no use for 2 gates on the same planet so I'm guessing someone "dropped" it there?
-didn't they have a "dialer" with the 2nd SG? what happened to it? They're still using those 15 supercomputers as substitutes for it... o.0

Okay, I have one.
There were 2 SGs on earth, one in Egypt an' one in Antartica. They blew up their 1st SG in an attempt ta stop a black hole from destroyin' earth, right? An' now they're usin' their 2nd SG after unsealing that iris on it. I have a couple of Qs that come from this:No they blew up the 2nd Stargate (the one in Antartica). This is how it happened.
In the ep with the Replicators on Thor's ship (the first time you see the Replicators). SG1 beamed up the Stargate (that was the one there from the start). So Hammond ordered the second Stargate up to be put in place.
So now they got the first Stargate in Thor's ship and it crashes into the ocean. The Russians get the gate and they use it. And I guess after that ep the SGC gets the 1st gate back.
On a later ep Anubis sends this beam thing to Earth's stargate. And it makes an overload in the SG. So Jack gets an X-302 (if I remember right, the only X-302 at the time) and sticks the gate to the bottom of it (or the top). Flys it out to space ejects and the Stargate blows up and that's the end of the 2nd Stargate.
That's a good question. Here is what I think happened.
To power a Stargate you got to have a DHD or some other power sorce (since the DHD also powers the Stargate). So the one in Antartica was almost out of power (it was Earth's first gate) or something. So that's why it never could get a lock on that gate. But in the ep where Jack and Carter got sent there, the energy had to go somewhere. So it got sent to the gate in Antartica.
-any explanations as to HOW that other SG made it there? There would be absolutely no use for 2 gates on the same planet so I'm guessing someone "dropped" it there? The gate in Antartica was lost to the Goa'uld. Ice all over it or something, they just couldn't get to it.
So they took one from another planet and put it in Egypt. That's how there were two gates on Earth.
-didn't they have a "dialer" with the 2nd SG? what happened to it? They're still using those 15 supercomputers as substitutes for it... o.0Yea I know they had a DHD with the second SG. But after that ep I never seen it again. I guess they never got it to working or something. Because in that ep where Teal'c was stuck in the gate (the ep where Tanith got killed) the US had to get the Russians' DHD. They had that one from Antartica so they couldn't get it to work because they had to get the one from the Russians.
Jack O'Neill
June 25th, 2005, 01:11 AM
At least some planets possess "secondary" or "backup" Stargates. The second Stargate is normally inactive, with the other Stargate receiving all incoming wormholes. If the originating Stargate receives a power surge while the wormhole is open, however, the wormhole can be made to "jump" to a different gate than the one originally dialed. Normally the wormhole jumps to the closest gate in the network, in the case of a planet with two gates this is the other, normally inactive gate, on that planet. On one occasion a Stargate was hit by an energy weapon as Stargate SG-1 team members returned to Earth through it, causing them to be transmitted to a second, previously unknown, gate on Earth that was located in the ice of Antarctica. The DHD is apparently responsible for determining whether a Stargate is set to receive incoming wormholes or not; the Russians were able to use their DHD to override the American Stargate's (Stargate Command) reception of incoming wormholes to retrieve their own returning Stargate exploration teams.

Tch. Yeah it can be made ta jump... like in A matter of Time... I really couldn't understand how tha wormhole managed ta keep its stability through all that time/space distortion... an' the part with "why is the gate still active?" "it must be drawing power from the black hole itself" I really don't get, I think it was more 'bout tha time being slowed down which meant the wormhole would stay active for more than usual since black holes don't generate energy, they absorb it...

Yeah, he no longer seems to have that severe allergy that inadvertedly saved him from that brain-frying virus all the way back in Season 1 (Broca Divide, anyone?). I also agree that Daniel should keep his glasses; he's just not the same without them.
With that beard of his, Daniel Jackson bears a rather vague resemblance to Baal (at least to me, he does). I swear that Teal'c or Bra'tac could mistake Daniel for Baal and accidentally shoot him or something like that (unlikely, but it could happen). O_o;
I don't think that any of you read my little story, so here it is again (edited slightly):
The Gate whooshed into life, and SG-1, the Atlantis team, and several other familiar faces dashed through, carrying a severely mangled, barely-identifiable corpse covered up on a stretcher. The iris slid smoothly into place after them, and then the Gate disengaged and shut down.
"Well," he started, "Teyla hit Mitchell with a Wraith stunner. Daniel, Jonas, Dr. Weir, and Dr. McKay each shot him seventeen times with their Berettas. General Hammond blasted him at point-blank range eight times with a SPAS-12. Dr. Fraiser got several M-16 clips into him as well. Ford, Sheppard, and I each emptied two full P90 clips into him. Sam hit him with a zat twice, then Teal'c shot Mitchell in the groin with his staff weapon. Bra'tac and Selmak got him several times with their Kull Disruptors. Apophis, Sokar, Baal, Hathor, Heru'ur, Nirrti, and Yu showed up for no apparent reason at all and used their ribbon devices on him. Oma Desala even struck him with a few bolts of lightning just for the heck of it. Just to make sure, we hit him with a few other things as well."
"What did you hit him with, General?" Landry calmly asked.
"Three Wraith Darts, five Death Gliders, a Puddle Jumper, and an Al'kesh," O'Neill replied, grinning widely.

Yeah, and that guy who played Skinner on The X-Files (Mitch Pileggi, I think it is) is commanding the Daedalus.
At least Ben Browder admitted that Richard Dean Anderson can't be truly replaced, as RDA and his character are such an integral part of the Stargate universe and such. Maybe Cameron Mitchell isn't really that bad...

Wow, I'm shocked. I am really really shocked. The new Seasons of SG-1 and Atlantis was on and no one made a post about it. XD
Ok if you haven't seen anything on the new seasons and haven't seen the new episodes and don't want to know what happened then stop reading this post here!
Ok starting at the start.
SG-1: The ep was sort of boring but they needed to get the new team off to a start. Mitchell isn't as bad as I thought he would be, so I'll cut him some slack. If he wasn't funny or anything then that would have sucked worse then anything. Because Jack is funny (always making funny jokes and stuff), John is funny. And since Jack is gone they need a new funny guy around SG-1. So I'm happy Mitchell isn't a stiff.
The episode: Kind of boring like I said, but like a lot of episodes SG-1 pulls another myth thing and puts it in around the Stargate. I like how they do that.
And who would have thought, Merlin is an Ancient.
Atlantis: That episode is what I was wanting to watch more then SG-1. As of right now I don't know if I like or dislike what happened to Ford. I mean I liked that kid, he was funny he was just an all around likeable person. It's kind of sad to see him go the way he went, I mean he saved John's life a few times. And he just ran off.
The episode: It was a great episode, I loved how the Daedalus poped in and started taking apart the Wraith ships. And the Daedalus looks great and to me way better then the Prometheus. It looks more like a ship then the Prometheus.
So what did everyone think of the new eps?

As for my opinions regarding the premieres of SG-1 and Atlantis, they're, for all intents and purposes, identical to Arcanine's. SG-1 was kinda boring, but it could've been worse. On the other hand, Atlantis was t3h r0xx0rs, so to say.

Yes, Vala really did say that. However, the last time I saw "Prometheus Unbound," Vala and Daniel weren't really getting it on with each other, so to speak; they were busy kicking each other's butts. Maybe Vala considers sadomasochistic torture as a form of sex? I dunno.

He is sort of an odd replacement for Jack. But in the last season Jack wasn't even on SG-1 anymore (worst move for SG-1, taking Jack off of SG-1 and making him the head of the SGC). And I think he's ok, he's better then I thought he would be so I'm happy. As of right now I'm liking Atlantis better. Maybe in the next ep of SG-1 we can get it to moving and might pull back some people to liking that more. But as of right now, SG-1 is dull and Atlantis is better.

Here's an odd piece of information related to Stargate:
In the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode titled "Universal Remonster," Oglethorpe and Emory use a device that suspiciously resembles a Stargate to steal the Aqua Teens' cable. When Emory points out the similarity between the device and the Stargate, Oglethorpe says that the device is actually called a "Fargate" and is not a copy of the Stargate; Oglethorpe goes on to say that he's never seen Stargate or Stargate SG-1 (no reference to Atlantis is made, as "Universal Remonster" was produced before Stargate Atlantis first aired; the episode was first aired in 2003). Apparently, this "Fargate" is capable of two-way travel, unlike an actual Stargate. At the end of the episode, after paying Oglethorpe and Emory a visit, Frylock uses his TV to seal the Fargate (much like an iris), much to Shake's dismay.

And I wanted to see if any of you knew this or thought about it.
Anyway me and my brother was talking about SG-1 the other day. And we was talking about how the Ancients came to earth and built the Stargates. And I know most of you (if not all) has seen the Antarctica episode where Sam and Jack gets stuck down there. Well since the Ancients built Stargates on earth and Atlantis was in Antarctica. That tells me the first Stargate made was the one in Antarctica (Sam even said it's one of the oldest gates). And as I said before, Anubis blew the Antarctic gate. Meaning, he destroyed the oldest gate ever made.

Ronin is okay. He hasn't done much so far IMO.
Samantha's back. Her hair looks all funky though.
Vala is gone now...I think. She got sucked through that singularity in today's episode to the Ori's galaxy. Whether they killed her or not, I dunno.
That huge Stargate that the Ori was trying to build was cool. And 3/4's of a solar system got blown up by Rodney. Big blue explosion!!! I'm still wondering if Ford is gonna play a major role in future episodes though. He seems like he's part-Wraith now so he could be useful...?
Jack O'Neill
August 20th, 2005, 06:54 PM
The Ori? Well, they needed SOMETHING to fill the void left by the Goa'uld and Replicators, so apparently evil ascended beings suited their purposes. Hallowed are the Ori. =P
Ronon Dex? He's cool, but, like Simon said, he hasn't really done anything for Sheppard and the others, and the few things he's done have brought upon some sort of reprimand, be it from Teyla or from Rodney ("Maybe when we're done tasting their porridge, maybe we'll try out their beds!" or something along the lines of that XD).
I'm kinda sad now that Vala's gone. Daniel no longer has a love interest! Pity him. (Daniel Jackson + Vala Mal Doran = <3)
At least Samantha's back, funky hairstyle notwithstanding. They should've brought Jack back as well; only then would the band, as Cameron so aptly put it, be fully back together.
Last night was a night full of really big explosions. First, there was the Mark IX nuke that had the unexpected effect of expanding the Ori force field. Second, there was the Ori mega-Stargate that Vala destroyed when she jammed a cargo ship in it. Third, and finally, Mr. Know-It-All (aka Rodney McKay) managed to vapourize an Ancient artifact, along with three-fourths of an entire solar system and a fleet of derelict Wraith ships, due mostly to his own arrogance.

In the same vein as the Ori, who are evil ascended, I think that at the end of the next season, Anubis should return from his battle with Oma Desala (Threads, Season 8) and become the leader of the Ori. Imagine that, ultimate evil. How would SG1 get out of that?
And also, so many people want Apophis to come back. Even after his Replicator-infested Ha'tak crashed into Delmak, his new base, they still want him to come back. Imagine THAT, a Replicator version of Apophis. Man, would he be ticked off.
Now I know some fans here may find something wrong with that theory, but I shall wait to see if anyone picks up on it before I defend my statement.
Jack O'Neill
August 23rd, 2005, 10:49 PM
Anubis becoming the leader of the Ori? I don't even think he even knows of the Ori's existence, though that would be...interesting, to say the very least. Sure, it'll bring the wrath of Oma and the other ascended Ancients down on his head (and those of the Ori as well), but still...
As for the possibility of Replicator Apophis, there's something gravely wrong with that. The Ancient superweapon at Dakara destroyed all Replicators in the Milky Way, right? Not a single Replicator was left alive, which renders the mere possibility of Replicator Apophis' existence moot. The Replicators in the Asgard home galaxy are too busy battling the Asgard to even care about their now-dead buddies in the Milky Way.

I'm happy Sam is back. Vala was just... I don't know, not right for SG-1. I'm just glad she's back on SG-1. Now all they need to do is promote her and make her head of SG-1 like she should be. XD
And her Mark 9 nuke was... a big bomb. That thing had some power behind it.
And I loved that big Stargate, it just looked really good and they shouldn't have blown it up. XD
McKay needed something like that to happen to him. He thinks he knows everything (he even thought he knew more then the Ancients) and this should fix him a little.
Anubis being the leader of the Ori would be sweet, he would fit in there really well... then again Oma would fit in good too. Since she wants everyone to ascend (it's breaking a rule to help people below their level to ascend but she didn't stop) so she would fit in just right with the Ori. XD
Simon
August 24th, 2005, 02:03 AM
Well, Anubis is or was (not sure, I never found out what happened to him) part Ancient. He would fit the role of the Ori's leader pretty well. He's certainly evil enough.

Oma Desala as leader of the Ori? I don't really think so. All Oma wants is people to learn how to ascend; she's not big on spreading Origin to the masses.
Anubis, on the other hand, would make the perfect Ori leader...once he gets over his egomania and accepts Origin. He is a Goa'uld, after all. =P

Well, Jack O'Neill (the member here, not the SG1 guy) picked up on my mistake, deliberate that it was. My thought is that if the planet Delmak did not have a Stargate, and I stress if heavily, the Replicators there would not have been effected by the Ancients super-weapon at Dakara, which was spread throughout the galaxy through the Stargates. Even so, some Replicators may have been too far away from a Stargate to be effected. The superweapon only had enough range to cover the planet and the surrounding space, which is why Carter had Ball help her by dialing all the gates in our galaxy at the same time (which was a really cool montage of previous Gate openings throughout the past eight years). Point amde, now I'm going to rest my fingers.

That was most likely a Wraith culling beam you saw being fired from the Wraith cruiser. Since multiple Darts are somewhat inefficient when culling people, why not have a cruiser fire a giant culling beam to cull the whole village?
