I'd like to showcase my website here. It is called The Pika Club. The Pika Club is a Pokémon site with a very large archive of content on the video games, walkthroughs, an episode guide archive, an (incomplete) Pokédex and a downloads section. But the most notable feature is it's online Pokémon RPG, of which a new version has just been released.
The Pika Club RPG Version 3.0 works just like the Pokémon video games. You get to pick a starter Pokémon (out of the nine) from Professor Oak and then you are transported to New Bark Town where you begin your journey. You can talk to the local NPCs, who may give you useful information and/or items and more. You can walk along the routes, battling trainers and wild Pokémon along the way. You can capture these wild Pokémon provided you have some form of Pokéball on you and some luck.Although not complete, attacks/capture rates etc all mimic the Gameboy games, so Tail Wag will lower the enemy's defence and an Ultra Ball has a greater chance of capturing a Pokémon than a Pokéball. You can battle gym leaders in the towns and collect badges.
If the normal adventure is not enough for you, you may join Team Rocket (and later Aqua and Magma) who will give you missions to complete. These missions allow for the capture of some special Pokémon not found anywhere else. Each team is unique, like if you follow the course of Team Rocket, you will find yourself running into Shadow Pokémon. These Pokémon cannot be caught using ordinary Pokéballs, and so you begin searching for components to make a special Pokéball to capture them. After which you have to journey around the world colected and purifying all the Shadow Pokémon.
As this is an online RPG, there is a lot of interaction between trainers. You can exchange Pokémon with each other, donate Cash and much more (such as beauty contests soon). In fact, like in the games, trading Pokémon is the only way to get some evolutions, such as Machamp and Alakazam.
Some concepts from the video games have been taken one step further in the RPG, such as breeding. In the game, it's a simple case of matching up two compatable Pokémon and having done with it, the baby takes the mother's species and fathers moves. In the RPG once you match two Pokémon up what the baby takes after is dependent on the parents' genes. You cannot see these, but each Pokémon has a dominant and recessive allele which affects what the baby will turn out like. Also, some babies can be born with status effects! Some of these are bad but some are good. Also, the more you breed, the more points you get and the higer qualified you become. You get access to different and better breeding tools the higher your qualification is.
I've now lost my train of thought so I will end my post here, I hope to hear from you all ;) ! That link again is www.thepikaclub.com (http://www.thepikaclub.com)
