...a LOT.

first off, get rid of everything. movesets of pure level up moves usually fail.

maybe keep Iron Tail.

~Aggron@Leftovers/Choice Band
Adamant/Brave|sturdy/Rock head
Rock Slide
Earthquake/Focus Punch/Substitute
Focus Punch/Substitute/Iron Tail/Double Edge
Fire Blast/Focus Punch/Substitute/Iron Tail/Double Edge

covered both CB and Subpunch versions. Rock Slide is standard, and some understandable variants:

1) Substitue with Leftovers only.
2) rock head with Double Edge only
3) Fire Blast for Skarm. use with Brave.

ok?

ghaa.. iron tail, to inaccurate IMO. Sub is a must on Aagron. you could also throw on Thunder wave if you wanted to....

currently I'm using:

~Thunder Wave
~Rock Slide
~Double Edge/Focus Punch
~Roar/ counter/Sub

as the first pokemon in my line up counter is cool to OHKO something, roar for stat uppers, and sub so that I can focus punch. Double Normal and flying resist is really cool for switch-ins.

Use Husk's set, but just remember it has a 4x weakness to both Fighting and Ground attacks.

it has enough defense to take a STAB'ed earthquake or a STAB'ed Brick Break, which is mainly what counter is good for. Too bad its slow, so after that one counter its done for =/

The poke that did the STAB'ed EQ or BB, might be done for too. A STAB'ed Focus Punch might kill it, I haven't done the calculations yet.

NO! First off Headbutt stinks! Metal Claw! Crap! Take Down also stinks. Try this:

Rock Slide
Iron Tail
Earthquake
Double-Edge

Now those are moves! If your Aggron doesn't know Earthquake, you got a problem. You also need to it a Rock move. Rock Tomb will also do. Keep Iron Tail, because its the best Steel-type move (aside from Meteor Mash). And, finally, why have Take Down there is Double-Edge?

Try those moves and believe me, your Aggron do much better.

Does this suck too?

Metal Sound
Earthquake
Fire Blast
Double-Edge

Cipher, Iron Tail is crap too, so there.

Aggron@Lefties
T-wave
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Double Edge/Focus Punch (if you can predict well)

This is an Aggron!:D

I know that Iron Tail only has 70% accuracy, which sucks, but I still find it a good move.

I'm with Cipher on his moveset, since it is the same one I have with my Aggron.

Funny, I think that's called contradiction.

If you say Iron Tail sucks then why use it on your Aggron, becase apparently you do, because you said Cipher put up the same set taht your Aggron has!:\

I didn't mean that Iron Tail sucks, I meant it's accuracy sucks.

Yes, I do use the same moveset that Cipher posted...

the set cipher posted needs Focus Punch over Double Edge and a choice band

If it accuracy sucks why use it. If it can't hit there's no point in using it! If your going to use a Steel type move leave it to Metagross, and Meteor Mash.:D

Here's my moveset:
Aggron@Scope Lens
EQ
Rock Slide
Iron Tail
AA

A pure Phy attacker. Aggron's DEF should be high enough to take fight moves from a Pokemon at same lvl. Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows? If I am wrong, then Curse/Bulk Up for AA.

Dude, what's with you and Scope Lens, it's not that great, in fact it sucks, it should only be used in critical sets, which are like not existant at this time in the meta. Download NB, go on the Smogon sever and battle some real players! Download it at at the library computer, just make sure one one is watching.

Aerial Ace on Aggron is not good, and Iron Tail is to innaccurate IMO, don't get mad I'm just trying to help, so sorry, no hard feelings!:D

Mullet

No poke can learn Sub by level, I think. Sub can be taught by a Move Tutor in FR/LG (I forgot where it was though). Please for your Aggroin survival in a battle with a skilled battler use either Husks, or my set (I wish LH was here, he could hel[ Husk and I out)!:\

Mr.Mime and Kecleon can learn Sub by levelling up and there's also a move tutor in emerald on the rooftop of the Mart in Lilycove city.

I know that Iron Tail only has 70% accuracy, which sucks, but I still find it a good move.

Why is Iron Tail a good move? Just because it gets STAB... well, that's why Rock Slide is there.

There's a move tutor in FR/LG in Fuchsia city that can teach you Substitute. There's also a move tutor in Emerald: *points up to the text below the first quote*. If you don't have neither emerald, nor FR/LG, let's just say that subpunch won't work then.

Just use husk's set and your Aggron will be fine.

i have emerald, and i could use another thought then rock slide and earth quake for aggron, ground attacks aren't that good for flying, but i guess that's what the other attacks are for.I kina used EarthQuake on my Flygon.

Well, double edge goes with the Rock Head trait or Return if it has Sturdy. Though Return only has 102 base power so double edge's better. It learns double edge by levelling up (on lv.63) so you won't need the help of the move tutor for it either, unlike return, which must be taught by TM.
He can't use Return as great as Double Edge so if he has Sturdy, better not teach him Return though.

T-Wave, Counter, Endeavor, Roar are good moves for him as a last move in my opinion.

ground attacks aren't that good for flying.

Well, they aren't... not even speaking of levitators... :\ Although Earthquake is probably the most common move you'd see on Net Battle so just because flying types and pokemons with levitate resist it, it's still a good move.

Although I still don't understand why you don't want to give it earthquake and rock slide (mainly rock slide since you posted that you don't like ground attacks because they don't hit flyings though), but you now better...

1. I don't have rock slide
2.i use earthquake on my flygon[after i'm done perfecting agg's movesets i might make a thread on flye and you can rate the horrible little thing]

Squarewalker
July 6th, 2005, 03:51 PM
Well, there's a move tutor in emerald's battle frontier, who can teach your Aggron Rock Slide. Since you say that you have emerald you should have no problem getting Rock Slide. Unlike ground moves, this attack does damage to flying types ;p .
