Pita-ten, anymore?

I'm a fan of Koge-Donbo's work, especially Pita-ten. It has a really great storyline. ^^ And, just one question; Why do people think it's a shoujo-ai manga? Here's a nice pic of some of the characters of Pita-ten:

Well..think about it.....As we know..Shojou is what we call magical girl series. Then there's this other girl in there (forget what her name is) She has a little staff and even a cutesy outfit, giving her the magical girl flair..

Anyway, Pita-Ten is AWESOME! X3 And it's not a magical girl series, nya. And that other girl's name is Shia, and she is a demon-in-training, nya. :3 Pita-Ten is one of those series that looks cute and innocent, but turns out to be completely insane, nya. XD
