Ah, pokemon. The brilliant servants and citzens of nature. Gifted with mysterious abilities, they live on the planet and treat the world as their playground; Every day, there a new adventure which lays dormant over the horizon, just eager to begin. Plus, they pretty much live in harmony with humans, for the most part. They treat them like they're family...

But do we do likewise? Or rather, likewise as a whole? Unfortunately, that answer is a solemn "no."

Recently, a shady, mysterious corporation known only as Life Gamble Incorporated, or just L.G.Inc. for acronym-like purposes, has begun secretly experimenting with Ditto DNA combined with the DNA of various other pokemon, each in its designated area, intending to use it for commercial, and possibly... Other purposes. You see, not all of LG's clients are legitimate or humbled, you see... In fact, most are from it. Their intent with the project? Find a harmless way to turn a human into a pokemon- Then sell them for profit to various clients clamoring for rare pokemon. And they've found an igenious way to do it. Drinking water and spys watching the employees.They've been watching them, seeing their pokemon preferences, and selected the ones that enjoy rare pokemon. When they conducted the first test, it was on a lab worker. As he drank the water., he was unaware of the contents. Suddenly, jhhe collapsed, and then began to glow, his form changing shape until...

He was gone, and there lay an Azurill. They cooped him up, out him in a pet container, and sold him to the higehest bidder. As many as 13 have suffered this fate... Until the night of the 14th victim...

The secret got out.but the media doesn't have it...

Just a normal teenage boy.

[Ulta City, somewhere near LGP HQ:]

A young boy sat on a stoop, his current location somewhere in proximity to the headquarters of Life Gamble incorporated. Man, why was he even out here in this dump? People were so rough and on-edge, and the air here was just Ugh! Worse, it was too dangerous to venture out on the streets at night, as that was when many Grimer and maybe the occasional Muk or Koffing were out and prowling about the back alleys. And a mob of Grimer was just troublesome to deal with, really. He sighed as he looked up lazily, his face seeming as though he was halfway in la-la-land. He began to stare around at his surroundings and was about to check on his pokeballs when a couple of men in black business suits and sunglasses caught his eyes Something was off about them The two paused, unaware that they were being watched, began to have a conversation

So, whats the latest successful batches?

Its going great, and the customers are even unaware of how we meet the demands, too. With Android copies filling in for the missing, we have been able to convert about 13 humans successfully into pokemon. Besides, after a while the chances that theyll switch back to human form lessens, and over time, it becomes impossible to change back. Heh, and whoever said people cant sold for profit was pretty idiotic, since were doing that with the public right now, and they have any clue!

The boys gray eyes widened as he heard this. Humans? Pokemon created from HUMANS? They were Talking about selling People! He clearly realized that there was something much more to this than an illegal trade deal of human lives. Though he probably shouldnt have, he began to inconspicuously began to follow them to what appeared to be the LGP loading depot. He saw someone who appeared to be a crew worker retrieve a bottle of water from a cooler from his hiding place in the alley shadows. The man twisted the cap off and said something after taking a sip.

Ahh, nothing like a cool, refreshing bottle of- Ungh!

He suddenly collapsed to the ground and his helmet fell to the side aas team swooped in to remove akmist aeveything he had on accept his undergarments, and one of the two men whispered something the boy didnt hear Odd

Watched and be amazed

Suddenly, the mans form began to gloow with a white light Wait a minute, he had seen this light before! It reminded him of when the largest Barboach in Separt lake evolved into Whiscash on relatively warm, dry summer nights. It was a beautiful sight annually. But now, it was about as horrifying as playing a Resident Evil game in a dark! What was happening to this man? His form was changing both drastically in size, and mass. What is going ON, here? As the light subsided, a new voice soon answered that question

Char! Charmander, char!

The slowly opened his eyes and gasped in shock at what he saw, the construction worker was GONE and in his place stood, all 20 and 19 lbs, was a fully-fledged Charmander. Yes, a Charmander. Here. In Silverdust City. He gasped in an awkward mix of horror and amazement. Unfortunately, he was also noticed by a guard.

Hey, that kid just saw our little manufacturing process! Houndour, sic em!

The boy tore off running, jumping over a fence as heard the Houndour close in, barking like crazy. Then. he saw a boat heading for... Well, somewhere, and hopped on, telling the crew that he had someone chasing him

Unfortunately, he had dropped something- His official pokemon league ID card. The Houndour pickeed up his scent on it and howled. His trainer, the guard, soon came running.

Whatd you find, Houndour?

The houndour used its mouth to and the man the trainers ID card.

(Hmm So that was Seth Wayes, some kid that is a pokemon trainer, eh? Id better tell the boss about him, he may prove to be a hindrance in our plans) He thought to himself, stand ing still to look around for a moment.

He then casually faded out from the scene, and into the shadows, making his way to the Loading Depot.

Something sinister was brewing Something very sinister

2. #23: Ekans [male] {Was found inside one of the local sheds and surprised a local. Captured it to #1 prevent it from doing harm, and #2, add on to his pokedex. Oddly enough, this Ekans is black and the yellow areas are a silvery white color}

Type: Trainer
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Hometown: Stardust City

1. #52: Meowth. male. Had been abandoned and beaten. Nursed back to health by Rikku.
2. #25: Pikachu. male. Was won in a dangerous gamble.

If I may add?

Personality/History: Rikku is outgoing and likes guys...a lot. She will never back down from a gamble, and the bigger the risk, the better. Somewhat of a thug, she hangs around with the wrong kind of people. She herself doesn't harm people or steal things, but she does own stolen goods that others gave to her. However, she and her gang have certain standards. They don't steal from normal people. No, they steal from stores and conglomerates. Some would refer to them as the Robin Hoods of the alley. Thus, on the street, they are called the RHA. However, why she hangs out with these people is a mystery, since she has a nice home.

Appearance:She has blond hair that she spikes, then puts in pigtails out the back, not out the sides. Her shirt is more like a white half of a shirt. She wears extremely short jean shorts, knee socks, and tennis shoes.

(OOC: Pardonthe double post, but I think I need to clarify something, hehehe...
If you guys were puzzled by that last post, then excuse me, as it was my fault and it may not have been cohesive because I was a bit tired at that moment and I have ADD(attention deficit disorder).

Alana: Accepted
Smarty_arty: Accepted, and interesting character. Amnesia is always an interesting element to add to the mix! Gives a huge amount of room for character development, redevelopment, and personal conflict, especcially if a character wakes up one day and suddenly remembers his past as a hitman or something along those lines.
Alter Ego: Accepted, and congrats on being the first shifter! You'll also find that his bottle is one of the few carrying the compound that allows you to change back into a human again without genetic re-engineering, and that your character has a maximum of three pokemon forms. This is also the situation for any other shifter.
Night-kun: Accepted, and I too think this'll be a hit RP- Once it gets more attention. Can you spread the word, if possible to established RPers?

Also, someone can say where the boat is heading, as long as it isn't the Mines of Moria, and anyone is welcome to RP the boat crew or some LG thugs. Thank you! ;) )

OOC: First and only shifter it seems. Ah well, here goes:

Adventure, excitement, tough Pokmon, money, fame, money...yes, a trainer's career is truly the best choice for the young and able bodied. Of course it's hard, there are a lot of people who'll tell you how hard it is to recieve your first Pokmon not to mention raise to be good enough to make the cut, the hardships of keeping it safe from those who would abuse it, not to mention the insane travel distances involved...but Teioh was not one to listen to such people, young, foolhardy, and determined, he had left his hometown of Suncrest on a journey to become the League Champion. He had no pokmon, or any idea where to get them, but he was confident that those little details would sort themselves out in time. Which was why said youngster found himself stranded on a desolate highway in the middle of what was later described as 'the greatest downpour in recorded history' with an empty backpack (For he had eaten all his food earlier and had taken to wearing his sleeping bag as a makeshift cloak to get at least some kind of cover from the rain), a soaked, black t-shirt and pair of jeans, a messy tuft of equally soaked black hair hanging over his face and with a thumb in the air. He was too proud and stubborn to go back (Not to mention that his parents would probably give him a memorable trashing for running away) but too tired to go on.

Just as he was about to give up and continue on foot (although his feet protested against this course of action to the best of their ability) Teioh noticed the long waited gleam of headlights down the highway.
"Hey! Hey! Stop!" Teioh had been waiting almost half an hour for the darn thing and was certainly not going to let it pass. In a desperate and potentially suicidal act that you will never hear any seasoned hitch-hiker reccomend he leapt into the middle of the road, both thumbs raised in mid air.

Under the course of the next couple of minutes Teioh watched his past life unfold in fast replay. It proved to be a rather dull and repetitive flick with a boring plot and poorly planed dialouge, although the pre-birth episodes (How he came to remember thos he never found out) were surprisingly fascinating. Soon, the flurry of images was replaced with a scene of him slowly floating upwards towards a bright light and the beckoning of dead relatives, the light was a good place, so Teioh's senses told him, so he didn't resist. But just before he reached the said place Teioh felt a tug on his shoulder. The tug soon developed into a full-fledged pull dragging him backwards, down, into the darkness...

"You okay kid?"

As he opened his eyes Teioh found himself back on the position he had been in, with the slight addition of lying flat on his, now scraped, back with a worried, and rather portly, truckdriver crouched beside him. To his fortune the truck had been driving at a fairly slow pace and Teioh had only recieved superficial injuries.
"Yeah" He replied "I'm fine."
The truckdriver, dressed in a LG.inc. uniform that looked a size too small, gave a sigh of relief. His face soon grew stern however.
"What the heck where you thinking? Jumping headlong in front of a truck! You could have been killed!"
"Sorry" Teioh muttered, massaging his aching right arm, "I just wanted a ride."
"Where to?"
"Anywhere but Suncrest."
"Well hop in."
"So, it's okay with you?"
"Would I tell you to hop in if it wasn't? I'm not leaving an injured kid to die in the middle of the road. Now come on before we both catch our death from cold."

OOC: can you become a shifter later in this RP?

I woke up from something that felt like a hundred year long sleep I had no idea where or who I was the only thing I could recall was a sharp pain in my head. I stood up and began emptying my pockets I grabbed something that felt like plastic I pulled my trainer card out of the pocket according to the card my name was Yuki, know I knew who I was but what I didn't know where I was, I began walking on the road hoping someone would notice me and give me a ride.

OOC: This is my first time RPing, ever. So any advice from you more experienced people would be appreciated :D .

For the first time in his journey things were actually looking up for Teioh. The rain was still going strong of course, but now he was watching it from within the confines of a warmed, lighted truck in the company of the rather friendly truckdriver, who had introduced himself as Biggs. He was, so Teioh soon learned, an ex-trainer who had found the trainer's career to be too difficult and had instead found himself a living in the employ LG.inc. and was very sympathetic towards Teioh's plight.
"How long til' we're there?" Teioh asked
"Bout' five minutes I recon'. I'll drop you of at the factory, but from there you're on your own."
"I'll manage."

-5 minutes later-

"Well, here we are, Balautenos city."

Teioh looked up, with its towering walls, velved iron gate and barred windows the LG inc. building looked more like a prison camp than a factory. The arrivial of the truck was greeted by a chorus of Houndor barks, soon silenced by their gruff handlers. While Teioh was relieved to be back with civilization, gruesome though this building was, the two silent figures, in their black suits and shades, overseeing this unexcpected turn of events from the main entrance were caught up in debate.

"There wasn't supposed to be anyone with him." The figure on the left stated.
"Shall we call of the operation?" The one on the right inquired
"Didn't you say we recieved an excessive amount of water?"
"Wouldn't his family miss him?"
"Would they know?"
"I see your point."

The conversation ended just as the truck skid to a halt in front of the entrance.

"Who are those two?" Teioh whispered under his breath.
"LG excecutives." Biggs muttered with a hint of nervousness "I wonder why they'd be interested in a routine delivery. A creepy lot they are."
"Ah...Mr.Biggs" the one of the left called.
"We were unaware that you had a son." The one on the right continued.
"Or that you brought him along on your rounds"
"You should notify our publicity manager of such things."
"We wouldn't want to be faultily accused of using child labour."
They both gave a cold, emotionless chuckle, signifying that laughing was not only allowed, but actually required. Teioh and Biggs nervously followed suit.
"Ahh..h-he's not my son." Biggs stuttered under the cold, inquisitive glare of the nearly identical men "Just a poor kid I picked up on the road. I'll send him of right away."
"Let's not be hasty." the one on the right said.
"You both must be parched after such a long drive." his colleague noted.
"I-I'm fine really." Teioh protested weakly, there was something thoroughly disturbing about these two well-dressed men and he wanted to get away from them as fast as possible.
"No, no, no" the right one exclaimed, starting of their tandem conversation once more.
"We would be pleased to give both you some water."
"In fact, we insist."

With that, the man on the left signaled one of the workers to bring two bottles of water.

"Let's just play along." Biggs whispered.
"Here you go." The man on the right said, handing one to each of them.
"Drink up." The left one prompted.
"No need for that suspicious look."
"We're just showing some hospitality."
"What do you think it is?"

They gave another chuckle, as glacial as the first. The water looked tempting, sparkling in the light of the sun which had just started peeking from behind the scattering masses of clouds. And he was thirsty. With that thought in mind Teioh pulled out the stopper and took a large swig of water from the bottle, vaguely aware that Biggs was doing the same beside him, allowing the liquid to wash trough his parched body.

As the very last drop of water dissapeared down Teioh's troath a strange sensation came over him. His stomach knotted itself, sending out a wave of nausea that made his whole body shiver. Teioh's head spun, fixing his eyes upward in a last attempt to retain consciousness he caught a brief glimpse of the two LG excecutives wearing identical smiles of satisfication, before he hurtled down towards the waiting ground.

That day, an Espeon and a Slowbro were added to LG inc.'s stock of merchandise.

OOC: That turned out longer than I excpected. :surprised

I had been walking for hours now and there was still no sight of civilization. I didn't know how long I could last in this heat the grassy fields had now turned into a scorching hot desert then I saw something it was a sign the sign said 20 miles to stardust city. Aah I can't take it the heat was too much I fell motionless on the road.

(OOC: Wow, alter ego, that is EXCELLENT! Keep it up! As for you, smarty_arty, you are doing good so far, but I want to point out that reffering t9o your character in the first prerson, is a bit confusing. Try it from a third person perspective. also, you cn makr your character end up becoming a shifter, but that is entirely up to you.)

"What?! You have to be pulling my leg, kid! You mean tell me you saw a fully-grown man turn into a pokemon...?"

"Please officer, I'm not kidding!"

"Oh really, now?! Well, I guess that means horses can turn into cereal bars, too! I'm so convinced!"

"Really sir, I'm not lying! I saw it with my very own eyes!"

"Get lost kid, I'm not playing your little game!"

Uh-oh... Prepare to be punted... Gulp...

A young man landed on the curb of Balautenos City. Hmph, figures they'd think he was cuckoo... Still, it was the truth... That young man just so happened to be Seth Wayes. and right now, the only thing Seth wanted was a hotel room and a large pie of pizza to share with his pokemon, Totodile's being topped with anchovies. Unfortunately, things like that can be tough when your a rookie trainer and finances are tight at times. Not to mention that he wittinessed a man get turned into a Charmander 2 days ago and that he now may have an entire corrupted corporation trying to hunt him down... He sighed as he walked down the sidewalk. Yup, hre sure was down on his luck. Suddenly, another young lad, no older than 16 & 1/2 appeared on that same sidewalk, waking on the opposite side. Seth took only one glance andimmediatley recocnized the guy to be another trainer. He was carefull, howeverm, not to make eye contact. as the young man walked closer and closer, Seth tried to casually walk past him. Don't make eye contact, Don't make eye contact...

Thst's when he impulsively looked into the trainer's eyes, and sawhim stop and return the glance.

"Hey, you a pokemon trainer, stranger?" The other boy asked, eyeing his potential opponent. Heh, this kid'll be easy! He looks like a newbie!

"And what if I am?" Seth said cooly as he looked into the other boy's eyes. Hmm,. an overconfident lout... He can use that personality flaw to his advantage...

"Then I challenge you to a pokemon battle!" He said, pointing a finger at an area of asphault, a pokeball symbol and two boxes on both sides outined in white chalk on the surface.

"I accept. By the way, the name's Seth. Seh Wayes. You?"

"Vinny's my name, don't wear it out!"

"Well Vinny," Seth said as he extended a hand for shaking and grinned."May the best man win, so to say. Nice to meet you, by the way."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, nice to meet you too... Let's just lose the yappin' and get down to the action!"

(Hmm... So he's arrogant and rude; A destructive combination of behavior for trainers...) Seth thought to himself as he rolled his eyes slightly and walked over to his spot. Maybe this buffon would've taken the hint, had he not been so blind..

"Ready?" He asked, still grinning.

"All righty then, let's get this party started!" Vinny said excitedly as he pulled a pokeball out of his pocket and hit the button to enlarge it. He then reared back and threw the ball.

"Go, Electrike!" Vinny shouted as the ball opened up and moments after the flash of light and the ball returning to its owner, an Electrike stood there.

"Okay, then..."

Seth then pulled a pokeball from his belt and did likewise with it.

"Come on out, Ekans!" He said as the pokemon appeared, and Vinny screwed up his face.

"Uh, dude? You sure that's an Ekans???" He said, a puzzled look on his face.

a beam of sweat drifted down Seth's forehead. Man this guy was dopy! A cry soon answered that question:

"Ekansssss!" Ekans hissed.

"Alright, enough monkeying around! Let's start!" Seth said as he regained his composure anfd looked around at the now gathering crowd of spectators circling the battle.

"Ekans, use your quick attack!"

"Electrike, use agility!"

Ekans suddenly charged forward at high speed toward Electrike, only to hit... A blur. Electrike suddenly appeared in the air above it.

"Good job, Electrike! Now use shock wave!"

Seth widened his eyes. Think fast...

"Quickly Ekans, burrow underground!" He shouted to his pokemon.

Ekans moved to the side and burrowed into the soft dirt middle of the battle arena just as Electrike landed.

"Darn it, where'd it go...?" Vinny mumbled as his pokemon looked around alertly.

"Now, Ekans! Use dig!"

Ekans suddenly came shooting back to the surface, right under Electrike, and slammed the adversary into the air as it coiled back up in front of Seth. Electrike fell to the earth, KO'd.

(Heh... Electric types can take a good beating from above r at-level, but from below, they're defenseless.) Seth thought as he grinned.

"Gah... Electrike, return." Vinny said as he recaled his pokemon back into its ball."good try..." He mumbled before pulling out another ball.

"Let's see your Ekans Top this one, Seth! Go, Natu!"

Natu appeared and Ekans watched it wearily. Poison types can go far, but agains a pychic like Nau, they aren't too formidable.

"Natu, Psychic!"

Ekans suddenly began straining, and then was knocked out by a second aftershock.

"Aw, no... Ekans, return!" Set h said as he recalled his pokemon."Nice work, man!" He said before putting the ball back on his belt and pulling out another one.

"Go, Bagon!"

a Bagon then appeared.

"Bagon, dragonbreath!"

Natu was suddenly engulfed in drago nflames before shaking it off.

"Natu, Psybeam!'

A rainbowish beam blasted Bagon back few feet and on its back, but it shook it off and got back up.

"Bagon, headbutt!"

natu was hit by Bagon' rock hard skull, knocking it back 2 yards and rendering it KO'd as well.

"Darn, he's good. Natu, return! you've had enough..."

after recalling Natu, Vinny pulled out ye another pokeball. His last one.

"Go, Trapinch!"

A Trapinch appeared, staring Bagon down. This one was tough...

"Trapinch, Dragonbreath!"

trapinch also engulfed Bagon in fragon flame, and knocked it out.

"Ehh, Bagon! Return, buddy!" Seth said, realling it to its pokeball. Noew he too had one left... After putting Bagon's ball back on his belt, he pulled out a lure ball, which contained his first pokemon ever.

(C'mon, buddy, don't let me down now...) He thought as he enlarged the ball.

"Go, Totodile!"

A Totodile then appeared with a cry.

"Toto-toto-totodile!" It said happily as it hugged onto Seth's leg(sound familiar? :D ). Seth carefully pried it off.

"Hey come on, buddy, we can hang out after the battle!" Seth said wth a chuckle."Totodile, water gun!"

A poweful jet of water shot at Trapinch and... Missed! What the...?

"Heh... Fast, isn't it!" Vinny chuckled as he spoke."Trapinch, stomp!"

Trapinh moved forward with unbelievable speed and stomped on Totodile. Oww...

"Totodile, water gun!"

This time, Totodiles's attack hit, dead on and full-force. It knocked Trapinch into the ground and KO'd it.

"Aww, no!" Vinny yelled as he saw the results. He returned Trapinch, then glared at Seth.

"I'll get you for this, Seth Wayes! ARGH!!" He said as he ran off, leaving 2500 pokedollars behind as the prize and the crowd cheering foir thevictor. Totodilethen leapt on Seth's chest, knovcking him to the ground whilst nudging its trainer playfully.

"Good job buddy, now let's head to the pokemon center!"

he returned Totodile, then gathered up the money and headed into a nearby pokemon center. Whoo, he felt great, and he couldn't have done it without his pokemon!

IC: "Rikku? Rikku Starr?" Rikku turned. Her spiky blond hair was pulled back into pigtails. "Yes?" she said, a hint of annoyance in her voice. She chewed a stick of gum, crossed her arms, and waited.

"I'm from LG. We believe you have...something of value to us. It was stolen a while back, and we have reason to believe you have it," he said. Rikku shook her head. "I never stole anything in my life. Now, if you'll excuse me," she said, walking past him towards the door.

His hand shot out and grabbed her upper arm. She winced a little. "You're not going anywhere," the man said. "Not until you hand over the goods." Rikku broke free of his grasp. "I told ya, I don't got nothin'!" she said. "You wanna settle this, we'll do it over a Pokemon battle." She reached for her belt.

The man laughed. "I don't think that's good enough," he said. Rikku glared. "What do ya mean?" she asked. The man smiled. "If you lose, not only do we get back the goods, but you come with me. We need more test subjects," he said, lauging maniacally all of a sudden.

Erm, if it's not too late, I'd like to join too. ^-^

Name: Mara Kilpatrick
Type: Trainer
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Hometown: Intertwine City
Personality: Upbeat, generally happy, and she likes to have things going good. She freaks out easily though, and when bad things happen, she relies heavily on her pokemon and her friends to help get her through it. She's generally friendly with others but is slightly nervous around boys because she's never really had any close guy friends.
Looks/Appearance: Wears a hat like the FR/LG main girl, but it's dark blue and light blue. She wears a lavender shirt with dark purple shorts, and has a small backpack she carries around with her stuff in it. She has boring brown hair (well, she thinks it's boring =P) and light blue eyes.

Growlithe: A male, who was given to her as a pet when she was about ten years old. She uses him in battles now though.

Squirtle: A female, who was caught near the ocean when it washed up from the tide. Mara has no idea how it got there, and neither does Squirtle. She calls it 'Squirt' affectionately, and so does Growlithe.

Added personality and appearance if ya' don't mind. I believe someone else did as well.

Cool! Okay, time to post...

"Um... Growlithe, I think your intuition was wrong about what street to go down," a young girl said, frowning at a small map she was holding in her hands.

Her small orange and black puppy pokemon looked up at her with an annoyed look.

"What?" the girl said, glaring at her pokemon.

The pokemon gave her an even more annoyed look. It made a few small barks and looked at her again.

"Oh wait, you did want to go down that one street didn't you?" she asked, suddenly thinking that perhaps it was her fault and not Growlithe's that she had gone the wrong way.

Growlithe nodded, his expression softened to one of smug relief. Mara placed her hands on her hips and puffed out her cheeks in anger.

"I swear sometimes it really stinks not being able to understand pokemon!" she said aloud, and then bringing up the map again angrily. She scanned the area they were supposed to be in. A friend of hers was letting them stay at her house for a little while, and Mara had wanted to get there by the end of the day. There was no place to camp out in a city; at least, nowhere she would want to stay.

Mara adjusted her hat as she motioned for Growlithe to follow her. As they walked down the street, Mara began to think back on the beginning of her journey...

She had been a typical young girl living in Intertwine City, and had never had a close relationship with pokemon aside from seeing and interacting with her friends' pokemon. When she was ten years old, her parents decided to give her a pet pokemon because of the fact that she had no siblings, and they thought that she needed someone to play with.

Growlithe had been a great friend to her, and the two of them basically grew up together. It wasn't until she was fourteen that she decided to become a pokemon trainer. She was walking on the beach with Growlithe when the two of them discovered a small female Squirtle lying in the sand unconscious. After healing it, they learned that the Squirtle had no memory of where it even came from. The threesome decided on starting out on a journey together, possibly to find out where Squirtle was from, and as Mara brought herself back to the present, she realized that she still had no idea where she was going.

"Shoot," she said with frustration, "Let's just go to the Pokemon Center and then call her to ask for directions. At least then we can get some food."

Growlithe nodded. Mara should make decisions dealing with finding food more often.

After a few minutes of walking, Mara had managed to find her way to the center, with some help from Growlithe, and entered into it through the big sliding glass doors.

"Where's the phones?" she asked herself.

Growlithe was looking around too. Though he was more concerned with where the food was.

This was going to be a long night.

OOC: Yay! More RPers actually...uh...RPing here! ^_^

That night Teioh had a confusing dream, he was running through a grassy, sunlit, meadow, on all fours for some reason, with a soft breeze caressing his...fur? It felt odd, but all the wonderfull scents of summer that surrounded him quickly made Teioh forget about such trivial matters. He ran as fast as his feet could carry him until the grass around him suddenly grew shorter, finally ending in a river. Something about this river, the very manner in which the sunlight reflected from he crystal clear water, made Teioh vince and turn his gaze up, only to find himself looking into the eyes of another person, one that was identical to him with the exception of his, strangely familiar, clear blue eyes and the rebellious stripe of light purple in his otherwise black hair.
"Who are you?" Teioh tried to ask, but no words came out of his mouth. The other boy gestured meaningfully down at the river just by his feet, clearly instructing Teioh to look into it.

Doing so Teioh saw a face he had long admired, the face of an Espeon, with the boys eyes, Teioh's own eyes staring back at him, a faint smile crossed over the Pokmon's face.

Teioh returned to the waking world on a stone cold floor, covered in cold sweat, with a strange feeling that he was wearing a fur coat. Stupid dreams, he thought for himself as his memories slowly seeped back into his mind those siamese freaks must have drugged the water.
Better check if I'm still in one piece...legs? His legs obediently made a few haphazard motions, check, arms?, although they somehow seemed to have lost some of their original mobility, particularly on the fingers' part, Teioh's arms seemed to move just fine so he consider them clear. Tail? the named appendage happily wagged back and forth Check. Hang on...tail?. Teioh quickly got up on his feet which, he was horrified to discover, were a good deal shorter. Teioh turned his head around slowly, allowing his eyes to adjust to the dim lighting, until he came face to face with his newfound appendage. {Whoa!} Teioh jumped backwards in astonishment, only to find that he instinctively regained his balance with all fours. Noticing something that looked like a large bowl of water in one of the corners Teioh went to check his reflection wishing, against all reason, that he was somehow mistaken, that this was still a part of his dream. As tends to be the case with such wishes, it wasn't granted. Teioh's gaze was once again met by an Espeon, although it wore a far more disturbed expression than previously.
{New one are you?} came a calm voice from a shaded corner. As Teioh turned towards it he was surprised to see a Rattata, an old one with foggy eyes, matted fur, and a limp hind leg slowly making its way towards him.
{New what?}
{New Pokmon of course.} the Rattata stated matter-of-factly {You know, you might be more of a conversationalist than your friend over there...} the little creature gestured towards a particularly vacant looking Slowbro, whom Teioh surmised was Biggs {...but you don't seem to be much brighter.}
{There's no need to be rude.} Teioh muttered, being in no mood for an argument, he walked over to the Slowbro, {Biggs! It's me, Teioh! Remember?}
The creature slowly turned its head towards him {Ttttteeeeiiiiioooohhhh?} it rumbled with extreme effort, its big brow furrowed in a vain attempt to remember.
{Like I said, he's not excactly the life of the party. This far, the only other thing I've been able to squeeze out of him is 'Biggs wants'.} The Rattata stated.
{What happened to him?} Teioh, asked turning to face the old creature.
{It's the Slowbro DNA.} he said looking at Biggs with what Teioh guessed was pity {They really live up to their name, Slowbros.}
{I see...} Teioh said, slightly crestfallen. {By the way} he said, suddenly realizing that he didn't even know what to call the person he was probably bound to spend a good deal of his life with {I'm Teioh. What's your name?}
{Limpy} the Rattata said gesturing at its limp leg {At a time I was probably called something else, but Limpy is the name I remember.}
{At a time? How long have you been here anyway?}
{Bout' four years I recon', I've been putting in a scratch in the wall every day. Cept' I ran out of wall a while back, so give or take a year, eh? My fur wasn't always this colour.}
{How did you-}
{My own fault I suppose.} Limpy said scratching his head absent-mindedly {I was loitering around the factory grounds, looking for Rattata, my favourite Pokmon you see, when a couple of those LG men came and offered me a drink.}
Teioh rolled his eyes {And you weren't even a little bit suspicious?}
{Of course I was!} Limpy snapped {But I figured it would be more beneficial to play along. You probably though as much considering that you're here.}
{Anyway, I woke up here with two other folks and this.} he brought up his leg for inspection.
{What happened to the others?}
{Sold} Limpy said briefly {At an exorbiant price, no doubt, while I was simply left behind, forgotten but fed. I still can't decide wether I am lucky or unlucky to have turned into a common-as-dirt Pokmon.}
{They're selling people?} Teioh asked, horrified {Don't the customers get a little bit suspicious?}
{No} Limpy replied bluntly {Most of the subjects just can't seem to comprehend their sudden change and either go vegetable or berserk. Four odd years detained here with only a bunch of deadbeats and psychopaths for company, is this hell or what?}
{Then why are you and I-}
{Different? Dunno.} Limpy confessed {Maybe we were still capable of adapting because we were exposed to it at a young age, or perhaps there was something exceptional in our drinks.}
{Young?} Teioh eyed the Rattata sceptically.
{Rattatas age fast} Limpy retorted {And I suspect there was something fishy about the 'water' they gave me, I was still a teenager when I was caught.}
{So what do we do then?}
{You're a psychic type. Can't you use your powers to tear the door of its hinges or something?}

It sounded like it was worth a try. Teioh turned towards the door, closed his eyes, and tried to concentrate (That was how he imagined psychic powers worked)

{Is it moving?} he asked after a few minutes of concentration.
{Not a bit. Some Espeon you are...}
{Give me a break} Teioh groaned {I'm new at this.}

Come on, he thought, gritting his teeth and staring furiously at the wall, Out of my way!. Suddenly he felt his forehead throbbing, he was vaguely aware of Limpy telling him something, maybe telling Teioh to keep it up? Or to give it up? It didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was the door standing between him and freedom and its imminent and eternal banishment to whatever place bad doors go to when they cease to exist.

The sound of the thick metal giving in snapped Teioh out of his trance. The door was still standing, but there was now a signifcant dent in it, as if somebody had struck it with a small battering ram, Biggs was still completely oblivious to the events and was inspecting the shellder on his tail.

Limpy looked at Teioh, eyes gleaming with excitement, {Do that again.}

OOC: Ah, sorry. ^^;; It's her house. The guy barged in.

IC: Rikku grinned. Now this is more like it, she thought. "Sounds good to me," she said. "You can choose first." The LG worker looked slightly triumphant. "You'll regret it," he warned. He pulled out a Pokeball and released a Croconaw-a powerful adversary, but with the correct strategy and right type of Pokemon, it could easily be overthrown. "Ya got it," Rikku said. She delicately plucked a ball off her belt, then threw it rather forcefully. An angry-looking Pikachu stood in front of the water lizard.

"Croconaw! Use Headbutt!" the man yelled. The crocodile took two steps back, then ran and flung himself at Pikachu. The mouse was knocked down, but quickly got its head together and stood.

"Pikachu, Double Team," Rikku commanded. Unlike the LG worker, she didn't yell. She was firm, but kind. Pikachu created superficial copies of itself and surrounded Croconaw. The crocodile became disoriented and shot little spurts of water at the copies.

"Now, thundershock!" Rikku said. The Croconaw dodged the original blast, but got hit with the subsequent attack. Now that the true Pikachu had revealed itself, Croconaw hit it with a steady stream of water. Even though Pikachu had been knocked down, the crocodile continued the assault.

"Pikachu, use your thundershock," Rikku said. Pikachu charged its body with electricity, and released. The shock travelled up the stream of water and electrified Croconaw. The LG worker snarled and called back the Croconaw.

Rikku grinned and returned Pikachu. "Still wanna take me on?" she taunted, laughing. She pushed her way past the man and walked out the door.

"What?!" shouted Mara as she held the blue phone reciever to the Pokemon Center's videophone to her ear. Her pokemon Growlithe came up behind her as it dragged a bowl of dry kibble food with him using his mouth.

He looked up with a puzzled expression. "Growll?" he asked, unsure of why his trainer was freaking out.

"It's Cassie! She says that she can't have me stay over because her parents are having a fight and she doesn't even dare ask them anything tonight!" Mara said angrily, "Of course, they have to fight tonight!"

Growlithe shook his head slowly; he knew that Mara didn't like staying at Pokemon Centers ever since the one night she did stay at them and a strange man approached her and forced her into a pokemon battle she didn't want to do. He had just been looking for a young trainer to pick on and completely destroy so that he felt like he was tough stuff. Growlithe placed his head on Mara's leg to comfort her. He figured that such men only came around once in a while, and that Mara should be wary of her surroundings, but not scared.

"Yeah, thanks... I guess; bye," she said to her friend on the other side of the phone line, and then she slowly hung up the phone and continued to stare at it.

"Growlit grow?" asked Growlithe asked Mara, nuddging her. This is what he did when he wanted Squirtle to come out. Mara complied, and within a few seconds, a small Squirtle stood looking happily at her two friends.

"Squir!" she said, waving hello to them. Her eyes were an odd light purple color, an eyecolor that Mara had never seen another Squirtle posses. Mara and Growlithe had gotten used to it now though.

The young teen suddenly found herself having to cope with staying somewhere she hadn't been planning on staying. She nervously looked around the center, wondering if she could become friends with any of these people. She also noticed two men over in the corner of the lobby talking closely with each other. They seemed a bit suspicious; and Mara didn't like this at all.

Growlithe sensed her fear, and it was making him nervous as well. He began to whine a bit, and in doing so attracted the attention of the two men. They looked over to Mara, a the girl felt a chill go up her spine.

She peered quickly over to Squirtle, "Squirt, come here!" she said urgently, holding out her arms. Squirtle jumped up into her arms, and Growlithe moved to be in front of them.

He wouldn't let any guy intimidate Mara again.

(OOC: Thank you!)

The LG worker grabbed Rikku firmly by the shoulder and yanked her back a few feet very firmly, somewhat out of annoyance, somewhat out of anger. He still maintained his firm grip as he bought the direction of her eyes' gaze to meet his, though he had night black sunglasses on, which he lowered with his free hand and bent down to overtower her, so that he stood eye-to-eye with Rikku. His eyes were a chilling, piercing ice blue, and no light glimmered in them, sand hids expression a stony frown.

He had a point to get across to her; she wasn't going anywhere...

"Oh, I'm not going to take you on again, Rikku..." He said, a crooked, wicked-looking smile slowly crossing his face."But you can't leave this place, either."

seth entered thepokemon center and went up to the front desk.

"May I help you, sir?" The nurse on the other side of the counter said warmly.

"Yes," He replied, un-clipping his pokeballs from his belt, then placng them on the front desk. "Can I have these three pokemon revitalized please, Ma'am? I just came out as victor in another battle against another trainer, and I'm sure they'd appreciate it."

"Sure!" The nurse replied, taking the balls an placing them into a Pokecheck machine. She checked the pokemon inside and then the trainer ID number. She does this through the machine and pokeball. Pokeballs record the status information of pokemon and list the ID number f the trainer who bought them. You know, just to make sure they weren't stolen or anything. If it were from a trade, the ID would have a blue number.

"Official ID card, please?"

Seth went to reach for the card in his right jacket pocket, and- Huh??? Where is it??? Hre felt around a little more, only to feel nothing but more and more pocket. Not good.

(Hmm... Now, what could've happened to it...? Mmmm... Mmmm...!)

The next thought he had hit him like a ton of bricks. Oh no, what if he had dropped while fleeing from that LG goon in Silverdust City? tht means... They may know who he is now! Crap! That card has things like his DOB, Full Name, Age, Trainer Status,(pokemon league-registered trainer or breeder, to registered pokemon nurse, to government services(such as police. Thery are excempt from certain regulations), to civilian worker, to pokemone caretaker, to gym leader, to Elite four, and then, Regional champion, national league, national champion, international league competitor, and finally, global champion) Hometown and trainer ID number listed on there!

"Aww no, I can't find it!" He said.

"No worries," The nurse said with a small smile and a nod."We can make you a replacement with a new ID number(prevents idetity theft, which is a crime), free of charge! But first, what is your old number?"

Phew! Seth was relieved."24678, ma'am."

She punched it in, hit search, then sure enough, came up Seth Wayes on the monitor.

"Ah, so your first name is Seth! Sounds cute! You look handsome, too!"

Seth blushed and a beam of sweat ran down his brow."Hehehe... Thanks, ma'am!" He said nervously.

"Okay, I'm sending for your new ID number now... Thry need a picture of you, so would you be so kind as to stand in frot of the monitor and smile?"

"Sure!" seth replied. The camera took his picture.

"Any template preference? " The nurse asked?

"Yes, can I have the "below the lake surface" template?(It shows various "freshwater" pokemon[like Goldeen] swimming amongst the foliage in separt lake, the sun lighting the area up and making the water appear blue on the card background)"

The new card printed out. Seth's new trainer ID number was now 18443.

Now please, havee a eat over in the mess hall and eat something while I bring your pokemon back into shape. They'll be brought back to you as soon as I'm finished."

"Thank you ma'am, I think I will!" Seth replied as he pocketed his new ID and began to walk back to the lobby, when a girl and a Growlithe walked in.

"Where's the phone?" She asked, despite the fact that her pokemon looked a bit hungry.

"In the mess hall, whrere I'm heading." Seth said, pointing to a sign at the lobby entrance

He walked into the mess hall and ordered a meal of fried fish n' chips, then he tok the tray and sat down at a vacant windowside table suite. After the pokemon dragged it away and the girl hung up, she seemed... scared. a squirtle started acting frantically, but she soon called it to her, and then scooped it up in her arm. the growlithe move n front of her, growling at tw men, two familiar men... Gah, it is them! He hoped they didn't recognize him... One of the siamese-like men began talking.

"My, little girl, what an interesting squirtle you have!"

"Mind if we... See it? Pretty please? We'll give you candy!"

Seh frowned and stood up. He tapped on the on the shoulder. When the man turned, he didn't recognize who it was. Neither his companion.

'"Is there a problem here, gentlemen...?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, his expression sincere.

The men stared, and began grumbling to themselves before responding.

"No..." One answered through gritted teeth...

"Not at all..." The other said in a likened manner.

They walked out of the center and Seth turned to look at Mara.

"Well hello again," He said with a smile."You in need of company and food? why not have a seat with me and chowdown then? I'll pay for it! Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Seth, Seth Wayes, a pokemon trainer. Nice to meet you!"

{Come on now! We're almost there!}

Panting from exhaustion, Teioh took a step back from the door to admire his handiwork. His first successfull Psybeam must have caught the door at a vulnerable spot since the ones following it were not nearly as efficient. On the plus side, Teioh told himself, he had gained a measure of control of his new abilities, his forehead no longer throbbed as insuferably when performing the and the dizziness that previously followed was gone.

During the course of the last half hour Teioh, under excited encouragement from Limpy, had been slowly battering the heavy steel door that separated their cage from the rest of the facility and the thing seemed to be hanging on to its last hinge.

Just as he was bout to give the door a coup-de-grace, Teioh came to think of something: Biggs. He was still spacing out in the corner.
{Limpy, what should we do with-?}
Limpy heaved a heavy sigh {Leave him.}
{Look} Limpy said, cutting of Teioh in mid-sentence {I've seen his type, taking that guy along won't do him any good. I mean, look at him.} Limpy pointed at Biggs who had decided that this was a suitable time for a nap {He barely knows how to find his way to the food bowl, let alone out of a guarded compound. And even if we somehow managed to drag him out in our wake who would take care of him? And what if we get caught?}
{The best we can do for him is to leave him here and hope that we cam get some help from outisde, or that he at least gets sold to a good home. Now come on, let's go before someone is dispatched to find out where all this racket is coming from.}

Distasteful though the decision was, Teioh realized that Limpy was right, dragging Biggs' immobile mass about would not be beneficial for anyone, least of all Biggs himself who would probably be punished for his 'insubordination'. With a last murmured goodbye to the stranger, whom he had already come to think of as a friend, Teioh turned around and released one last blast of energy on the door.

As Teioh stepped out of the dank cell (Which turned out to be a large cage) and into the corridor with Limpy seated on his back he noticed why there had been no alarm: on a small chair opposite the, now broken, door a solitary guard in LG uniform sat, legs sprawled, and head slouched on his left shoulder with an empty liquor bottle loosely clasped in one hand and a small river of drool running down his chin. He merely grunted a little as the duo passed mumbling "Just a few more minutes mommy..." before retracting to whatever childhood remembarnce he was currently experiencing.

Despite this stroke of luck escaping turned out to be more difficult than Teioh had envisioned it. The only window of the corridor bore a set of sturdy bars and was, to top it all, located five floors above ground level. Both ends of the corridor were blocked by doors similar to the one that Teioh had just broken that required some kind of access card to be opened.

{So what now?} Teioh asked in exasperation. The sun was already rising behind the window bars and the whole facility would soon be at full pace, making escape a practical impossibility.
{Hang on} Limpy said, {That guy probably has one} Limpy scurried of to the guard and started climbing up his pant leg with surprising agility for one with only three limbs at his disposal.
{Careful!} Teioh hissed as he saw the guard vince in his sleep when Limpy dropped down into his left pocket.
{Just give me a moment} Limpy replied rummaging in the pocket.
Suddenly the guard snorted opening one of his bloodshot eyes a bit,

"Eh? Whossh there? Youssshe mussht be eye-dent-ih-fide"

Hoping that the transformation hadn't destroyed his immitation abilities Teioh acted as fast as he could

The guard grumbled for a moment, processing this information, then his face regained its previous calm "I shee, good nightsh, kitty."
{Found it!} Limpy whispered triumphantly dropping back onto Teioh's back with the crucial piece of plastic firmly clasped in his front paws. Teioh hurried to the nearer one of the two doors as quitely as he could manage, but to his misfortune the lock gave away a painfully loud 'beep' as the card slid in causing the guard to move once more, this time wearing a suspicious expression:

"Hangsh on. I don't have no kitty."

{Our cover's blown} Limpy whispered anxiously, {Run for it!}

"Hey! Schtop!"

With the door opened Teioh darted down what seemed like an endless maze of corridors and staircases (although they were thankfully devoid of similar doors), tackling the occassional startled guard on the way until they finally reached what seemed like an exit, which it was. An exit to the roof.

{Bloody hell} Limpy muttered {I thought we were heading down?}
{So did I} Teioh replied.

From their lofty vantage point the two observed the guards gathering on their various posts in the hopes of discovering some kind of weak point or blind spot. Suddenly, one of the guards cried out and pointed towards the place were Teioh and Limpy were standing like a pair of bullseyes.

Trapped Teioh scanned the premises desperately. Upon closer inspection the compound was not the solid, grey mass of concrete that it had first appeared to be, but seemed to be a collection of differently sized structures clumsily fused together, they were presently standing on the top of a fairly medium sized one, near the center of the field, the different leves were fairly close to each other, and they seemed to be arranged in a descending order of height from the wall...

{Teioh} Limpy said weakly, {What's with the insane look?}

"Seize them"

A patrol had finally found its way to the section where Teioh and Limpy were, Houndors in tow. Teioh felt a familiar sensation come over him, the same as when he first used his powers, a primeval instinct that seemed to override all logical thinking.

With this mindset Teioh closed his eyes, took his chances and leapt for the nearest rooftop landed, and leapt again, landed and leapt pulse racing with only one thought in mind escape. There was only one obstacle between him and his goal now, the wall. Teioh took some distance once more and sprang, relieved when his frontpaws made contact with the rough concrete. Hs joy was short-lived however.

"Sic im' Houndor!"

In his extatic state Teioh hadn't noticed a solitary handler and his creature taking up a position by the wall. Which was why he now found himself dangling precariously by his front paws with an excessive amount of Houndor latched to his leg, unable to muster the strength to pull them both up.

{I guess this is it.} Limpy said forlornly
{What do you mean? Limpy, you can't seriously be considering-}
{Don't get all emotional on me, Teioh} Limpy yelled {Just run!}

With that, the little creature relased its grip, falling teeth first on the startled Houndor, causing it to release its grip with a pained yelp. With the last of his strength Teioh pulled himself up on the wall and slipped down to the other side.

OOC:Let's see, one character passed out in a desert, another one locked in a quarrel with an LG operative, one captured, turned into an Espeon and consequently fled, made two new friends of which one is now a Slowbro and the other deceased. The remaining two (of which one has been denied her promised shelter at a friend's house and the other is an eye-witness hunted by the LG corporation who just beat the snot out of another trainer's pokmon in battle) shamelessly gobbling up food in a Pokmon Center's messhall while everybody else is having a lousy time. Yup, I'd say you've missed something. Glad to see you didn't just drop out, though.

OOC: :confused: Uh yeah ok. Well, I have no idea how and where to start out at this point. I hate missing the start of RPs. It takes a while to catch up and can just get you behind. Oh well. I skimmed over all the other posts so I'll do my best. If all else fails I'll simply leave the RP. IC post coming soon.

Rikku yanked her shoulder away. She had to admit, his expressionless eyes creeped her out, but she'd never let on. She spat on his foot. "What do ya want with me anyway?" she asked out of annoyance.

July 8th, 2005, 3:05 PM
OOC: You know Alana, it probably wouldn't be too hard. I mean, the only ones of us that have even met up yet are my character Mara and Seth. Anyway, I'd better get to my post!!

"Well hello again," a boy that Mara had seen earlier in the lobby said to her, "You in need of company and food? Why not have a seat with me and chowdown then? I'll pay for it! Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Seth, Seth Wayes, a pokemon trainer. Nice to meet you!"

Growlithe looked this guy over with a strained expression. After the other two guys that wanted Squirtle, he wasn't about to just assume that this guy was any better. But hey, that's what Growlithe were for-- protection.

"Um," Mara said nervously, "Hi. My name's Mara, Mara Kilpatrick."

She paused as she considered what had just happened.

"Hey, what just happened there? Did you know those guys? Why did they want my Squirtle? Are Squirtle really rare or something?" she asked urgently, wanting to know what all this was about. It scared her not to know, and if Seth knew anything, then it might help her feel a bit better.

With being asked so many questions, Seth re-suggested that they sit down for some food, and while Mara and Growlithe had no objections to it, Growlithe continued to watch the boy cautiously.

Although, as they sat down for a bit, Mara figured that she could trust him a bit considering he scared off those two creepy guys.

"You see," Mara explained before going back into her questions, "I was supposed to stay at a friend's place, but it's just my luck her parents are fighting and she doesn't want me over. Anyway, then those creepy guys saw me and wanted Squirtle. I don't know why they would want her; she's just a plain old Squirtle." She bit down on a the hamburger she had ordered.

"Hm... this thing doesn't look like it did in the pictures," she said, eyeing the burger.

Squirtle was eating a small bit of Growlithe's kibble, and looking around curiously with her large purple eyes. When she dropped a piece of food, Growlithe picked it up and gave it back to her.

"So, what about you?" Mara asked, putting her burger down and trying some of the fries in front of her, though they looked as questionable as the burger, "Did you know those guys? And who are they?"

"Did you know those guys? And who are they?"

Seth paused as he hesitated slightly. How was he going to respond to that without endangering her? Or, for that matter, himself?

"I... Know them, but I have no clue who they are." He said.

Just as he was going to say dsomething else, the nurse came up with his pokeballs on a metal cart.

"Your pokemon, sir." The nurse said, smiling and nodding her head.

"Ah, thank you!" He replied as he recollected his pokemon.

"Come on out, guys! Chow time!" he said realeased them from their pokeballs. A waiter came by and dropped a slightly large bowl of pokemon food.

Totodile saw Growlithe watching Seth alertedly,

{Hey, you! Yeah, you there!} It said, which sounded like "Toto, Totodile" to Seth and Mara.{Don't worry, Seth's not gonna hurt her, you can relax!} That sounded like,"Totodi to, toto totodile dile-dile!"

Seth looked down and chuckled.

"Heh, I wonder what they're saying..." He said.

"Because..." He said icily and snapped his fingers.

"You are what we want, Rikku. Gentlemen, you know what to do..."

Four shinobi guards suddenly appeared around Rikku and grabbed her, the one to her back putting a cloth saturated with chemical vapors over her mouth to knock her out and prerbvent her from screaming as they tired her up, took away her pokeballs, and chucked her in the back of a van before hopping into the psassenger seat and inconspicuously driving off to LG HQ. July 8th, 2005, 6:50 PM

Seth's Totodile was discussing something important with Growlithe; probably to do with the way Growlithe had been acting toward his trainer.

Growlithe raised an eyebrow, {You may be right, but I'd prefer to determine whether or not he's trustworthy for myself.} Mara couldn't understand what her pokemon was saying, but she had a pretty good idea.

"I'm sorry about him, he's just a little overprotective," Mara said with a chuckle, "But hey, at least I know he cares about me! Growlithe, come on, loosen up a bit."

Growlithe looked away, he obviously wasn't going to listen.

Squirtle hopped down to stand next to Totodile. {Hi there! I'm sorry about Growlithe. I don't think you guys are bad at all!} she said to the blue crocodile, smiling at him.

"At least Squirt there seems friendly," Mara said to Seth, smiling. She continued to eat the rest of her fries, and actually felt a bit comfortable for a moment.

Mara sighed, "Let's just hope that those guys don't have any friends that want us, Squirt, or anything else. I mean, honestly, I never saw anyone like this when I lived in Intertwine City!"

Name: Lati
Type: Trainer/going to be Pokemon Shifter
Age: 16
Hometown: Lavender town

pokemon (in catching order):Name-Nick: explaination to who it is

1.Eevee-Tala: Tala was Kiora's first Pokemon ever and has long since been her favorite. Tala is a golden colored Eevee, with a reddish colored collar and tail tip

2. Charizard- Blastoise: Blastoise is the second Pokemon Kiora came across, though she was only a Charmander at the time.Kiora named Blastoise this way because she is Blue, unlike normal charmanders... Kiora raised Blastoise well, evolving it into a Charmeleon then a Charizard...-see sprite
3. Mudkip-Myst: Now, truthfully, Myst was not the third Pokemon Lati Captured, but he was ther first she caught in Hoenn, she has travel with her normal team of all Kanto Pokemon, before she traveled to Hoenn She now trains Hoenn Pokemon as well though.

For the first time in what he considered an inifinity Teioh awoke embedded in soft fabrics. Maybe, he thought Maybe it was just a crazy dream after all. But the ache in the deep bitemarks on his left hind leg soon set him straight, Gonna have to see to those soon he added as a mental note to himself. {Darn} Teioh muttered, this was the real world and he might as well get used to it. Climbing out from the warm fabrics that had wrapped themselves tightly around him while he twisted around in deep sleep, Teioh gracefully slipped down on the white tiled floor of a well lit storage room, stretching his aching joints as best he could. The last memory he had was when he sought a hiding place in one of the containers stacked by the building opposite of the compound (Later identified as the "Squeaky Dry Cleaners"), he must have dosed of.

Checking out the tag on the nearby supply crates Teioh heaved a sigh of relief, written with a plain but clear font were the words "Property of Balautenos City Pokmon Center", he was in safety for the time being. However, with the relief came the painfully obvious revelation that he hadn't had anything to eat for the last two days. First things first. Teioh thought for himself, slipping out through the door (Which had been left slightly ajar by a careless employee).

Yuki had now fallen down in a restless sleep she had a nightmare, she was now standing outside a building two men both in LG uniforms were standing in front of a woman yuki somehow knew that the woman was her mother one of the men offered her a drink, she accepted it and suddenly she began to change. There was a blinding white flash and instead of her mother she now saw a beautiful creature a Ninetails but then one of the men noticed her and tryed to catch her, she wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for a Chikorita that came out of nowhere and attacked the man, yuki ran as fast as she could then she woke up covered in swet she was know in a pokecenter lobby.

OOC: I was hoping to let situation develop for a while, but my impatience has gotten the better of me:

A few wrong turns and dead ends later Teioh had finally found his way to the more public sections of the Pokmon center. The smell of food and sound of general chatter told Teioh that the doorway to his left lead to the mess hall. Just as he peered inside he suddenly came to think of something: Any trainer's base reaction to seeing a rare, wounded, and exhausted Pokmon walk by. Teioh wasn't sure wether or not he was affected by Pokballs, but he sure wasn't going to risk eternal servitude to find out. {Don't panic} he muttered to himself, {just back away...}

"Say hey, hey!"

Startled, Teioh turned around only to find himself face to face with exactly the kind of person he didn't want to meet: a Pokmaniac, easily distinguished by the shabby white coat and the manic gleam in his eyes.

"Another rare beauty for my collection! Go Rhyhorn!"

Ignoring the pain in his hindleg the rumbling in his stomach, and his urge to dash Teioh held his position. I might be tired of running, he thought for himself, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go down without a fight.

July 9th, 2005, 8:18 AM

"What?!" Mara said loudly standing up, "Well this is just great! I never did anything to anyone! All I did was find Squirt washed up on shore one day and so Growlithe and I took care of her! If she was someone else's they should've put a tag on her!" She looked worriedly down at the little Squirtle.

Mara didn't fully understand the dangerous situation she was in. She was not used to dealing with men that were after something and willing to do anything to get it. In fact, she really didn't even believe such evil people existed. To her, people were always people, and evil masterminds and organizations were something left to movies and fantasy. However, here she was, being thrown into her very own movie of sorts.

Growlithe, hearing what his human partner was talking about, decided to not only keep an eye on Seth, but on everyone else as well. He wouldn't forgive himself if something bad happened to Mara or Squirt.

Mara sat back down, figuring it was useless to yell about something she could not change. "So anyway," she said to Seth, "What about you? What're you doing in this city? You live here? Or are you a traveling trainer like me?"

However, as Seth was about to answer, Mara saw an injured-looking Espeon standing in the doorway to the mess room they were sitting in. A Pokemaniac was about to try and catch it.

"Hey!" Mara said jumping up, "Aren't having pokemon battles in the Pokemon Center against the rules?!"

Growlithe looked over to the Espeon curiously. There was something different about it. Something he couldn't quite put his paw on.

OOC: "Something he couldn't quite put his paw on." Now THAT was corny. =P

OOC: Bah, you can't hope to compete with my corniness :P .

"Oh no you don't you greedy little brat!" The nearly frothing Pokmaniac cried "I, Ray Blythe, pokmon collector extaordinare, won't have anyone butting in on my turf! Rhyhorn! Horn Attack!"
{Eat psybeam!} at Teioh's bidding a rainbow beam emerged from the gem latched on his forehead and struck the charging pokmon dead on, barely glancing it.
{Oof!} Teioh's vision swam as the impact knocked the air out of his lungs and sent his whole body flying across the mess hall, landing right on the plate of the girl who had just cried out on his behalf. Teioh struggled back on his feet, his whole body trembling from the effort, only to see the Rhyhorn charge towards him once more I'm only going to get one more shot at this he thought. The distance that Teioh's involuntary flight had left between the two combatants was enough to buy him some time to aim. Setting his mind on a small spot on its forehead not covered by the thick hide Teioh braced himself, {Here goes nothing...}. A second rainbow coloured beam shot out towards the Pokmon, hiting it right on the spot, causing it to collapse with a pained cry.
"This isn't over!" Ray yelled "He's weak! Get im' Linoone!"
{Come on} the fatigued Teioh muttered to the nearby Growlithe who was eyeing him curiously {Give me a hand here, will you?}

After her evening meal Yuki went up to her room and went to bed, her restless dream continued where it last left of she found herself running for her life memories of her mother came back to her head once again she found herself watching her mother transform into a Ninetails it was a horrible dream once again she woke up drenched in sweat, she looked at the clock it showed 12 am yuki had overslept quickly she dressed up and went downstairs.
''Now I have to decide where to go next'' she thought for herself.

July 9th, 2005, 9:17 AM
OOC: Well... okay, if you really want the title of Corny King, you can have it! ^^

Growlithe blinked as the Espeon spoke to him. It was a bit uncustomary for a pokemon to ask another to help them in a pokemon battle unless they were good friends. This Espeon was obviously not very well socialized.

Mara looked over to the Pokemaniac with a frown, "What a freak! Why don't you just raise up an Eevee of your own!"

"Stay outta this girl!" the Pokemaniac growled, ignoring her and then going back to his battle, "Linoone! Let's go!"

Squirtle gave Growlithe a frown, {Go help him! You know you could beat that Linoone in a heartbeat!} Seth's Totodile didn't look too happy about this either.

Growlithe sighed, obviously Squirt wasn't aware of the non-interference rule either. {Oh alright, I'll help,} he growled, and then leaped in front of the injured Espeon.

The Linoone before them looked a bit surprised by this, but it kept its ground.

"Growlithe, what're you--," Mara began, but then figured it was better this way, "Growlithe! Take Down now!"

"Grrrowwwl!!" he roared, as he rammed the side of his body into the stripped pokemon. The Linoone staggered backwards, looking hurt but not down and out.

The pokemaniac glared over at Mara and Seth, "Keep out of this! Get your Growlithe out of the way or I'll take it on too!"

Mara frowned, "Just leave it already! Freak!"

July 9th, 2005, 9:33 AM
Yuki went out to see what vechile she should use to get out of this place, she looked around and saw the train station on the other side of the street, ''I should take the train and see where I end up'' she said for herself, she went to the ticket booth and said
''When is the next train leaving?''
''In aproximately four minutes young lady'' said the man somewhere around the age 44
''Okay give me a ticket''
''You don't even want to know where it goes?''
''Not really I have no destination anyway''
''Okay here you go that'll be 50 pokedollars''
''Here's your money thank you and goodbye''
''Goodbye young lady''

"Just leave that Espeon alone, man! It's wounded, for crying out loud! Have a heart here! Just leave it alone, cauuse if you don;'t, you'll have my pokemon andI to deal with, too!"

Tododile leapt up and in front of Seth and began staring Linoone down. "Toto Toto!" or {That's right! You will!} It said.

the pokemaniac scoffed at this. He gritted his teeth as he barked out another harsh round of words.

"I don't care if its wounded! It's a collector's dream, and I'm claiming it! Linoone, Slash 'em!"

"Totodile, dodge and use your water gun! Stop that Linoone!"

A powerful jet of water emerged from Totodile's mouth and slammed Linoone into a crate.

"You can still walk away from this and repent," Seth said. "Thst is, if your pridewon't get in the way."

OOC: I've just added my new title under my name. ^_^

Despite the fact that he could barely retain conciousness Teioh couldn't help cracking a smile as he saw the inidgnant expression on the pokmaniac's face. The intervention of the second trainer and his Totodile had left the, already wounded, Linoone in an awkward one-on-three situation with no chance of victory. But was its owner ready to admit that? After a few minutes of mutual glaring Ray spewed out a final, flustered, line:
"Fine! You won! So what! Changes nothing! I am a master collector and I will have that Espeon! Go Ultra Ball!"
With furious vigor the Pokmaniac grabbed a black and yellow coloured Pok Ball, of the kind which Teioh thought only snooty rich kids from posh trainer schools could afford, from his belt and hurled it towards the nearly immobilized Teioh. Oh no you don't! Teioh unleashed yet another Psybeam which connected with the ball in mid-air, causing it to break open and fall to the ground.

"Darn you!" The pokmaniac yelled "Darn you all! You will all pay for this, do you hear me? All of you! No-one messes with Ray Blythe and gets away with it! No one!"

In addition to this final cry of frustration Teioh caught a brief glimpse of the Pokmaniac scooping up his Linoone and rushing away from the scene before the by now all too familiar darkness came over him and he collapsed.

''Let's settle this here and now shall we?

''I choose you uh....chikorita darn I should have checked my pokemon before I came here hmm this chikorita it's probaly the same one I've seen in my dreams, okay we can do it Chikorita use your body slam attack''
''Cyndaquil use your ember'' small flames spewed out of cyndaquil's mouth and hit Chikorita in the head, quickly chikorita ran forward and slammed cyndaquil with full power throwing it against the wall''
''Cyndaquil it's time for a quick attack'' the quick attack hit Chikorita and it fell down on the ground
''Use your synthesis'' chikorita began to glow and it stood up again ready for more
''Cyndaquil hit it really hard with your ember'' once again small flames spewed out of cyndaquil's mouth hitting chikorita, it was too much for chikorita and it fell fainted on the ground
''Hah this is too easy''
''Don't get too big thoughts of yourself, go whatever...oh it's poliwag, use your water gun'' a concentrated blast of water flew on cyndaquil and it fainted
''No my cyndaquil, go Raticate''
''Poliwag quick use your hypnosis'' Raticate was too smart to fall for the hypnosis
''Now use your super fang to deal some serious damage'' Raticate bit poliwag dealing critical damage to it
''Poliwag use your water gun again'' once again a blast of water came out of poliwag's mouth it hit Raticate in the stomach dealing some minor damage.
''Hah you're going down, Raticate use hyper fang'' Raticate made a succesful hyper fang hitting the weak spot, poliwag fell down on the ground struggling against pain.
''Okay come back poliwag, go my whatever you are'' out of the ball came a cute little wynaut
''hah you really think that thing is going to beat my Raticate?, Raticate use your super fang attack'' the super fang was succesive it dealt some heavy damage to wyanut
''Wynaut use your counter to take it down'' wynaut dealt double the damage to the already injured Raticate it fell unconcious down on the floor
''What you beat me? that's impossible I am the best trainer around well here's your money by the way I'm Lucas I didn't quite catch your name''
''I'm yuki thank you for the good battle bye bye now''

with those words Yuki went back to her own compartment.

OOC: All hail the Corny King!! *cheering and clapping* ^^

Mara gasped as Ray brought out his Ultra Ball and hurled it at the Espeon. She would have ordered Growlithe to stop it, but the ball was sailing so fast that by the time she thought of it, something else was already happening. The Espeon had fired another Psybeam at the ball, and after the rainbow colored beam deflected and destroyed Ray's plans, it staggered a bit as it attempted to stand upright.

"Darn you!" the pokemaniac yelled, "Darn you all! You will all pay for this, do you hear me? All of you! No-one messes with Ray Blythe and gets away with it! No one!"

As the man left, Squirtle was the first to approach the Espeon that had just collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion.

{I think he's hurt pretty bad, we should take him to Nurse Joy,} Squirtle said, leaning over the Espeon's body.

Mara walked up to the Espeon too along with Seth and Totodile. Growlithe stayed where he was, assuming the others were enough to take care of the situation.

"Oh the poor thing, we should take it to Nurse Joy," Mara said, her eyes tearing up a bit, "I just know it'll pull through with a heart that strong. You think so too Squirt?"

Squirtle nodded. She looked over to Growlithe. {What's wrong with you? Come on over here!} she said to him, waving for him to come over.

{Nothing. I just like my space,} the orange dog replied.

Squirtle shook her head, she knew that Growlithe was always nervous around strangers; and that with so many new people, he probably wouldn't be in the best of moods.

"Come on, let's find Nurse Joy," Mara said to Seth as she attempted to try and pick up the Espeon, "And I might need some help with this Espeon; I don't want to make it worse!" She managed a half-smile.

seth rushed over to the injured Espeon and began tpo examine it with his eyes. totodile looked over to growlithe, a woried expression on its face.

"Toto Totodile-dile..?" {You think He'll be okay..?} It asked.

The nurse suddenly came running into the mess hall. Uh-oh. they may be in trouble.

"Just what is going on in here, you two...?" She demanded, placing her hands on her hips and tapping her foot.

"It was just some radicalistic pokemaniac, nurse," Seth began."He tried to capture this injured Espeon here. Take a look, he's got a gash in his hind leg right here..."

The nurse bent down on her stocking-clad legs to inspect the wound herself. When she got a closer look, she gasped.

"My word, this wound is pretty serious! We need to take this pokemon into surgery immediatley!"

she hit a buton on a reciever on herunform, and then two Chansey came out in medical scrubs, wheeling a hospital cart around meant for pokemon use. They carefully picked up the Espeon and placed it on the cart, before the nurse followed them in a walk-run to the operating room. Seth and Totodile ran after her, their concern over the injured pokemon.

July 9th, 2005, 11:55 AM

"H-Hey! Wait up! Don't leave me behind!" Mara called, starting to run after Nurse Joy, the Chansey, and Seth and Totodile. Growlithe followed closely at her heels, and she picked up Squirtle so that the little turtle wouldn't accidently get left behind.

As they reached the emergency room, Nurse Joy stopped them short.

"Now you two stay out here. You'll just have to trust that I'll be able to heal it without your help okay?" she said with a wink, "I'll be back, soon hopefully."

Seth and Mara waited impatiently as Nurse Joy did her job to heal the Espeon. There was really nothing more to do than wait.

"Hm...," Mara wondered out loud, "Why was it here anyway? Why would an injured pokemon just walk right into a Pokemon Center? I mean, it just seems a little weird."

{Maybe he's not a pokemon at all,} Squirtle suggested, though Seth and Mara couldn't understand. Growlithe made a grunting noise.

Totodile looked over at Squirtle too. The little blue turtle shrugged.

{I just get an odd feeling from him; not a bad feeling, just, a feeling that he's not a pokemon,} she answered, {I dunno.}

"Hm... Why was it here anyway? Why would an injured pokemon just walk right into a Pokemon Center? I mean, it just seems a little weird."

"Squir, squir squir squirtle!"

"Hmm... Good point, Mara. I was looking at that Espeon's eyes earlier, and I couldn't help but notice something very slightly off about it... I wonder..."

Seth bought out his pokedex and ran an image diagnostic for Espeon. Sure enough, his suspicions were confirmed.

"M<Mara, you may want to see this..." He said warily...

July 9th, 2005, 12:35 PM

"What is it?" Mara asked, moving closer to see what the PokeDex had shown Seth. As she looked at the picture she saw an Espeon, looking all purply like an Espeon should.

Mara raised an eyebrow, "It's an Espeon; so what...?" She wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box.

Squirtle jumped down from Mara's arms and sat down on the floor.

Seth pointed out the Espeon's eyes, and suddenly Mara remembered that the Espeon they had just rescued had eyes that were different. Things just weren't adding up.

"So maybe it has different colored eyes? Squirt has light purple eyes, and she's just a Squirtle," Mara said, folding her arms.

Squirtle shifted a little in her seat and thought quietly to herself. After all, there was a lot she didn't remember about her past, and she didn't like to think about it much.

Nurse Joy then came walking out and stopped in front of Seth and Mara.

"Well he's resting now, and should wake up soon. You two can go in and see him if you want to," she said, pointing the way to the room, "Just remember to let me know what that guy looked like that tried to catch Espeon. That way I can report his poorly chosen actions to the authorities."

"Let's go see him, then we can ask him if he's an Espeon," I suggested to Seth, who was still holding his PokeDex.

Tala followed Lati's gaze..." Oh...someone fun..." she murmured into her trainers ear

Lati grinned and nodded, sprinting over to one." hiya evil grunt," she said nicely, grinning widely.

Lati shook her head," NOw what shall we do with this man Tala...?" she asked the eevee on her side, her grin softening into a delighted smile, like it always did when she laid eyes on her friend.

Tala smiled evilly..." Capture him" she said simply....

OOC: Hmm...looks like it's about good time to wake up.

Meanwhile, Teioh lay in a narcotic sleep on the operation table, blissfully unaware of the events unfolding all around him.

Suddenly, he was back in his old home in Suncrest, safely tucked away in his own bed.

"Teioh, love" he heard his mother whisper, feeling a gentle nudge on his shoulder. Teioh slowly turned around and opened his eyes.

"It's time to wake-EEEK!" Teioh's mom recoild in horror, as if she had just found a monster in her son's bed.

"Who are you?!" She cried out hysterically "What have you done to my baby?"

Teioh got up and tried to talk some sense into her, but no words came out.

"Get away from me you monster!" she threw a stinging slap that, surprisingly, seemed to catch Teioh on his left leg. "Zachary!" she cried frantically for her husband, running out of the door, "Zachary, there's a stranger in the house!"

Teioh tried to follow her, but a hauntingly familiar voice caused him to freeze on the spot.

"It's not her fault you know."

Teioh spun around, the person talking was none other than his own reflection. Complete with light blue eyes and the light purple stripe of hair.

"Your the one who's changed. Even though you refuse to admit it..."

Teioh tried desperately to protest but his lips failed to comply once more.

"Oh, haven't you? Was the Teioh she knew a pathetic little mouse, scared of his own tail? Was he one to run off from home without as much warning as a 'goodbye' note? Would her son callously abandon a friend in need to save his own skin?" the mirage retorted, as if he had heard every word Teioh had uttered "Hmm? How do I read your thoughts? Why, that's simple: they're my own. We're the same, Teioh, but not the same as you used to be."

"Is this for real? Now that's a rather tall order for an empathic manifestation isn't it?" he gave a small chuckle "Truth to be told, I'm not quite sure myself. I'm just an extension of you, a vital one, but still an extension."

"This place? It could be what has happened, what is happening, or what will happen, or maybe its just a bunch of your own worries dreged up in that confused little mind of yours. Perhaps it's all those combined, perhaps none of them. Your guess is as good as mine. But I see I have worn out my welcome..."

Wait! Teioh tried to call out, There is so much more I need to know!, but to no avail. The room started fading, becomming blurry and obscured.

"Until we meet again" the reflection called out waving at Teioh until it too vanished from Teioh's sight as the real world rushed to greet him.

Rikku's eyelids opened slowly. She looked around.

"Wha-? Where am I?!" she exclaimed.

She was in some sort of cage. Her hands were tied, and she was leaning against the wall. She pushed herself up using her legs and the wall.

"Hey! Lemme out!" she yelled at the guard.

The guard turned to her. "Little Rikku..." he chuckled. "Yeah, right," he said, dangling the keys in front of her face.

Rikku bit at him. He pulled his hand back. "Fiesty, eh?" he grinned and shook his head.

Rikku snarled at him. "Lemme out now!" She kicked him in the leg, but he didn't drop his keys. He looked at her angrily and pitched the keys over onto his desk.

Rikku slumped against the wall. How did I get myself into this? she thought.

As the two trainers entered the room, Nurse Joy left them alone to tend to some other pokemon. The room had the typical white, sterilized look that was not unlike human hospital rooms. The Espeon lay on the bed, and it appeared he was awake.

"Hello," said Mara as she and Seth approached the pokemon slowly, "Hope you're feeling better."

Growlithe stayed behind the group, watching the door in case anyone decided to pay them an unwanted visit. Totodile looked at him curiously.

Squirtle hopped up onto the bed that the Espeon lay in and gave him a smile, {Hi. My name's Squirtle, though my friends call me Squirt,} she paused for a moment, {Are you really a pokemon?}

Mara watched the Espeon too, hoping it was capable of telepathically communicating to them.

By the way, I and my brother (Smarty Arty) will be at our grandparents' summer cottage for approximately a week (Leaving tommorrow) and will consequently be left without an internet connection, meaning no roleplay >_<. Sorry for the inconvinence.

{pinkelefants...} Teioh murmured, still slightly tuckered by the anesthetic. He got up on his feet, the left hind leg still giving of the dull sting of returning senses, and moved around a bit, partially to see if there was any permanent damage and partially to shake of the last memories of his nightmare.

{Sorry about that} he muttered sheepsihly to the confused Squirtle {I'm still a bit dosy.} with no comment from the blue turtle Teioh continued {To answer your questions: Firstly, I'm Teioh and it's nice to meet you too, Squirt. Even though the circumstances could be better. As for your second question: No, I'm not a Pokmon.} he absent-mindedly rubbed his left hind leg against his right one before adding {Or, at least I didn't use to be one...}
Teioh took a brief pause, wondering what the others' reactions would be.

July 10th, 2005, 7:31 AM
OOC: Well have fun! At least you're going somewhere, my summer has been rather dull. -_-

{Oh, hello then Teioh,} Squirt said to the Espeon, {So you are a human huh? It must be weird to have once been a human and then be a pokemon.} She was taking this all very well, better than her human trainer would have taken it. Squirt was a very level-headed person, and she usually understood things better than the average pokemon.

Mara nodded to Seth, "Well he seems alright now." She looked back at the strange Espeon. Yes, it was rather odd to find a fully evolved pokemon in a Pokemon Center; it was rare to find Eevee in the wild let alone an evolved Eevee.

Could those men have had something to do with this? They were looking for Squirt, maybe they were looking for him too? No, that didn't make sense... Mara paused; why was she trying to figure all of this out like some kind of detective? That was crazy. This was probably just some Espeon that was lost, those men were probably just some tough guys looking for a pokemon to steal, and by this time tomorrow she was going to be on her way to seeing the esights that this city had to offer.

Squirt thought to herself a bit and then looked at Teioh again, {How are we going to tell them that you're a human? Charades perhaps? Though, you know what? I think that the boy, Seth, suspects that you are a human for some reason.}

Teioh bit his lip, pondering about this new dilemma that Squirt had presented for him, the girl was already looking ready to forget about the incident. The boy on the other hand seemed to be, as Squirt had noted, eyeing Teioh critically, as if looking for some kind of concrete evidence for his suspicions. But how could Teioh prove him correct? The only thing, appearance-wise, that distinguished Teioh from an ordinary Espeon was the unusual eye colour, which wasn't much to go by considering that such things occurred naturally, Squirt being an excellent example. {I dunno} Teioh confessed after a while {How do you make a charade of something like that? If we just start flailing about we'll mostly likely just get our heads examined by the nurse. Could we maybe get them to ask me yes/no questions or something? I could answer by nodding or shaking my head.} What am I going to do?, he thought, scanning the expressions of the other Pokmon in his vicinity as if expecting an answer to simply materialize out of thin air What the heck am I going to do?.

"Toto?" It said quizically as it looked onto its trainer's face.

"Hm? Hey Totodile, did you hear that, too??"

She grinned again...This is gonna be simple..." Blastoise I choose you!"

This time the grunt grinned..sure a blastoise was strong, but Raichu had power...his grin fell when the blue charizard appeared..." Wait TWO colored Pokemon!?!?! My this is a good find... Raichu, Thunder bolt that charizard"

"Blastoise, Fly!" The charizard flew up, her agility in the air causing her to just dodge the bold of lightening. She then somersaulted and landed with a belly flop on top ofthe raichu bfore it ha a chance to recover itself.she Looked at lati with a grin before rolling off of the raichu

"Grr..ok Raichu.... Thunder punch it"

" Ok Blastoise...Grab the Raichu, fly up into the air and use siesmic toss...go!"

the charizard l;ooked at her and nodded..she complied quickly, almost flinging the Raichu into the ground...the raichu attempted to get up, but fell backwards, KO'ed...

"Yay I win!!!" Lati grinned again.," so pay up...you owe me info and a drink..."

The grunt smile goodnaturedly, and nodded," that i do, but first, we Drink..." he tossed her a bottle of water wit hthe LG logo on it, (also with some pokemon dna in it...), and took a normal one for himself... he watched her carfully through slitted eyes...He smiled as she took a long swig...

The grunt looked down in satifaction at the Golden colored eevee lying unconscious on the ground that mirrored the one that had been on the trainers shoulder...He picked up the Eevee on the ground and removed the pokeballs from the belt that hunng loosely around its body... he pocketed the balls for now, and picked up the hissing Eevee that was still awake, by the scruff of her collar...

The two Eevee were thrown into a room filled withthe cries of pokemon...((Trainer Kat, im gonna throw my charrie in with yours,,,)),into a cage that was already occupied,,,th grunt glared at the girl inside and threw the two Eevees into the cage before taking out the trainers pokeballs and releasing them into hte room to see what was inside...when the charizard was revealed, he quickly recalled it, knowing that it could be a dangerous pokemon...but the other.." "Woah?! Y-you can speak?!" Rikku exclaimed.

She pat around her waist for Pikachu's Pokeball. Both of her Pokemon were gone, as well as her other belongings.

"Hey, who just called me a crackpot?!" Seth growled out, staring around him angrily.

Squirtle pointed at Teioh, but Seth was too busy looking around to notice.

Seth then looked at Teioh with an even more confused face, "Hey, what is it little guy? Why are you looking at me like that??? I'm not yelling at you." He raised an eyebrow and Mara looked at the Espeon to.

"Maybe the little Espeon's the one calling you a crackpot?" she suggested, folding her arms, "After all, isn't it a psychic pokemon?" She was just grasping at straws, but it was the only thing that made sense, well, besides that maybe Seth was going crazy.

"What's the prblem?" He said bending down to ask the pokemon in a quizzical manner...

The two LG executives entered the room and sniled as they sat down on two fold-up metal chairs on the left and right sides of the cage. One of them smiled as he looked directly into Rikku's blue eyes and set his black suitcase to the side. How pathetic the girl is, now rthat she's been caged up...

"Greetings, Rikku Starr. Pleasure to meet you so late tonight." He said, grinning in a way that others consider rather... Uncomforable. The other one then began to speak.

"I am Mr. Arikawa, and that fine gentlemen over there to your right is Mr. Harimoto."

The other man, Harimoto, chuckled.

"'Fine' gentleman, you say, Arikawa? I am flattered, though I have instincts that doubt I deserve it so."

"Well, you probably do not. I am just a generous man..."

Both then chuckled in the matter of siamese twins, which was further un-nerving.

"Hmm... Well, that said Ms. Starr, we have..." Arikawa said before clearing his throat and folding his hands in his lap.

"Business to discuss with you..." Harimoto finished as they both gave an un-nerving grin and a cental light cme on as the others came off, putting them in the dark.

Mara held back a giggle or two as Seth asked the Espeon what the problem he had was.

"Yeah, um, is there something we can help you with?" Mara said, still feeling a bit concerned. After all, if there was something that had happened to the little pokemon, then Mara and Seth would probably be eager to help.

However, before anyone had a chance to think or answer, Nurse Joy came in the room, and broke the temporary silence.

"Okay, visiting hours are over," she announced, begining to shoo the two trainers out of the room, "This pokemon needs his rest, and you two need to let him have it. You can come back to visit tomorrow or when he's well enough to leave."

"But--!" Mara began but was pushed out of the room. Squirt turned to Teioh and said a short good-bye.

{I guess you'll have to tell them later. Maybe we pokemon can get them to realize it before then. I promise you Teioh, I'll try my best,} Squirt said as she turned and leaped off the bed to follow Mara and Growlithe.

"Now go on, better get going you two," Nurse Joy said as she went back into Teioh's room and shut the door behind her.

{We've got to tell Mara and Seth that Teioh is a human!} Squirt said to both Growlithe and Totodile.

{Hmph,} grumbled Growlithe, not too fond of any of what was happening lately. In fact, he wished that they had just passed up this entire city altogether.

"Okay, so much for that; what do we do now?" Mara asked, looking at Seth curiously.

"Why certainly! The trainer rooms are in the hallway central hallway! You're in room A7 tonight. It has two beds and a television, along with a mini-fridge with soda insie, as well as food. Have a good night!" She replied with a smile.

"Thank you, Nurse Joy! Come on Mara, let's hit the sack!" He said as he collected the card key.

Luckily, the region's pokemon centers were known for their hospitality.

Arikawa leaned forward, his expression unchanging as he removed his sunglassses to reveal two soulless-looking brown eyes.

"I do believe you know what I'm talking about, Rikku. Recently, your little group has been interfering in our company's oprerations in Stardust City and Goldenrod City in Johto. Contrary to references, I believed that your group agreed to stop raiding our warehouses if we contributed to terra-forming in Stardust City and distributing water to who you call the 'little guy.'"

Harimoto also then leaned forward, his expression quite stoic.

"However, your group has not held up on their part of the deal."

Arikawa spoke again, his voice almost devoid of emotion, except for anger; a meek, chilling anger.

"We are businessmen, and hence do not like being lied to, Ms. Starr."

"Care to give..."

"An explanation...?"

"Growlithe? What is it?" Mara asked, looking a bit confused.

Growlithe was feeling a bit left out with all of these things happening, when usually Mara would pay attention to no one else but he and Squirt, here were these new people that she kept paying attention to.

Mara guessed it right off though, "Oh I get it, you're jealous that you're not getting any attention!"

Growlithe turned away a bit, {That's not it.}

Squirt giggled, {Yes it is! Anyway, we had better hurry and find a way to tell them about Teioh! Tomorrow they might want to leave him and then he'll be all alone again.}

{His fault,} replied Growlithe coldly. Why should he care so much for someone he didn't know?

"Anyway, I could use some of that soda," said Mara as she and Seth walked into the room.

OOC: Alright! Now we can get going again! Did you guys have fun while we were all waiting?? ^-^

"Oh man... I'm so tired from today," Mara said as she laid down onto the fluffy Pokemon Center bed. She would have rathered stayed with someone she knew better, but since Seth had proved as no worse than any other person, she was okay with it. She was a bit unsure of what to talk about though with Seth because he was, well, a boy.

Mara hadn't had many friends that were boys, so she was always a bit shy and unsure of herself around them. Though she didn't seem it with Seth right now; probably because of the odd circumstances in which they had been thrust into.

Squirt hopped up onto the bed with Mara. {Mara,} she said, nudging her trainer lightly, {Mara listen to me. I've got it all figured out!}

Mara looked lazily over to Squirt, "Huh? What is it Squirt?"

Growlithe had laid down, still vigilantly watching Seth as he had always been doing. He yawned and did nothing to help.

{He's a human! Teioh!} Squirt said impatiently, {He- oh... I don't know how I'm gonna do this....}

"Squirt, unless it's something important, we've gotta get some sleep," Mara explained, laying her head down again.

{I've got it!} exclaimed Squirt as she hopped up after a second of silence. She leaned over to a small tablet of paper that was by the phone for boarders to use to take down things from phone calls. She picked up the pencil next to it too.

Holding it in her chubby Squirtle fingers was a bit tough, but she was actually quite skilled at it. She then began to scribble out something all over the tablet.

{What are you-- how do you know how to use that?} asked Growlithe, looking utterly bewildered. He had never seen a pokemon do something like that before.

{I'm drawing,} Squirt replied, looking over her handiwork. She smiled. {There! Mara! Look!} she shoved the tablet in Mara's face.

There, while hard to fully distinguish, and very child-like in quality, was Squirt's drawing of Teioh, and then an arrow pointing to him from a human looking stick figure. Mara blinked, then looked over to Squirt.

"Are you trying to tell me Teioh's a- a human?!" she guessed, thinking that this was some sort of joke.

Squirt nodded. Growlithe was still impressed at her drawing skills. And what pokemon would have thought of an arrow?? Perhaps Squirt's previous owner taught her that, and since she had lost her memory she wasn't aware that she had ever been taugh it? He didn't know, but he wouldn't let up on thinking about it just yet.

"But that's impossible! Isn't it Seth?" Mara asked in a high-pitched voice. The fact that someone had the power to turn people into pokemon was almost laughable! It couldn't be right; it couldnt.

OOC: Well, if you consider it fun to stack up firewood in mid-day heat without as much as a cloud for a cover and spend a good part of the evening in a lake holding up a bridge-like thingie (Can't remember what they're called in english) with only my bare hands (well...shoulder at one point) and my dad for help...then yeah, I had a blast. Nah...that was just the last day. It was mostly fun, yes. ^_^

"Break?" she yelled, looking at the Cyndaquil. "Dai?!" She turned to the Swinub. The pair of Pokemon were kicked out of the way.

"You monster," she mumbled.

"Oh, and I am... Very afraid that your town shall run out of water soon... " Arikawa said, grinning.

"You monster!!!" Rikku yelled, pressing right up against the bars of the cage.

"But that's impossible! Isn't it Seth?"

Seth was currently at the table, setting down a bottle of orange soda on the table a when he heard the commotion to his back. His gray eyes widened in realization as he looked up and gasped in surprise. It was a few moments before he began to reply. He didn't turn around, though...

"Mara..." He said in a slightly taken-aback tone...

"I need to tell you about something..."

Harimoto began to laugh at Rikku's fiery showing of enragement before speaking. He was obviously quite amused at her great desperation and distress. He found it so entertaining...

"Ha ha ha ha ha... Well, what did you think would happen if you attempted to double-cross men such as us, Ms. Starr...? Hmmm...?"

"Did you think we would simply take it in stride and allow you to sabotage our operations...? Hah!" Arikawa added.

"You foolish, foolish girl..."

"Didn't you ever pay attention to the three laws of motion in school, Ms. Starr...?"

"One of the trio states that for every action..."

"There is an equal and opposite reaction..."

"It is fiundamental in a world that is the present, Ms. Starr. Henceforth..."

"When you sent your two friends here to raid our facilities, you failed to comply with our little agreement.."

"And therefore, you have condemned your very hometown. Your family, your friends..."

"It is your fault that they shall die..."

"Tsk tsk tsk..."

"It is..."

"All your fault..."

"You foolish girl..."

The two certainly are seemingly enjoying the fact that they are toying with their prisoner's mind...

And her heart...

Mara blinked, "Something to tell me?" She was completely at a loss to say anything besides what Seth had just told her. What on Earth did he have to tell her anyway? What secret had he kept that was about humans turning into pokemon?

She raised an eyebrow as Seth remained silent for a moment, "Um, don't tell me you're a pokemon that was turned into a human?" she said half-jokingly. She chuckled a bit, but then fell silent, waiting for Seth to explain himself.

Squirt shifted uncomfortably, while Growlithe listened intently. The orange dog didn't seem too surprised, nor did he look apprehensive. He had figured that Seth had been hiding something, and he was grateful that it was finally about to be revealed.

"No, of course not. I'm human, always have been ... It's just... I may know who did such a thing to Teioh..."

He made direct eye contact with Mara, his eyes suggesting that something was wrong.

OOC: Actually, I don't think I've ever used Teioh's name with respect to Mara talking. Squirt knows his name, and I would assume Growlithe overheard it. ^-^ As for Seth... I can't speak for him.

Mara's mouth hung open slightly at this prospect. "Okay... um, am I the only one that thinks this is completely bananas?! I mean, really, something that can transform people into pokemon in a matter of minutes? Hours? This is so weird!" she said, her mind not being able to wrap around the concept.

Growlithe was still listening intently.

She continued, "So that Espeon in there is really a person?! Ack! I touched all over him when he was hurt!! That's so embarrassing!! I... uh... oh!" She got up and looked at a loss of what to do. Seth was running from these people... these people....

"Hey! Were those people in the lobby that wanted Squirt part of those people that are after you?" Mara asked, looking more serious now.

Squirt looked up slowly. She didn't really want Mara to bring this up again; it made her nervous, and she was already nervous as it was.

Yuki was expecting to see the same terrible nightmare again, but this time the dream was completely different, she found herself playing around close to a small pond with her chikorita, then she noticed a Rhyhorn attacking a defensless poliwag, the Rhyhorn tackled poliwag with an incredible power and it flew backwards, Rhyhorn was ready for another attack
''Go chikorita use razor leaf'' yuki said, the Rhyhorn noticed the chikorita attacking it and abandoned its plan to kill the poliwag instead it began charging towards chikorita with full speed, chikorita was sent to the air but luckily it landed on its feet it counter-attacked with razor leaf.

"Yes, They are... They've been after me ever since an incident a few nights ago back in Silverdust city... A terrifying incident that I wittinessed with my very eyes..."

He paused and let his voice trail off before walking over next to the small and round table positioned in the left-hand center of the room, as well as two blue, cushiony chairs. Seth pulled one out with his right hand and gestured with his free one towards mara as he began to speak again, this time his eyes possessing a gaze that showed worry behind it... Meanwhile, safely tucked away in his room at the Pokmon Center, Teioh found himself rudely awoken, now for the third time, by his grumbling stomach. {Bah, I can't sleep like this.} he said out loud, slipping silently down from the bed and onto the floor. The lights were off, naturally, but a clear ray of Moonlight shining in through the window allowed Teioh to explore his suroundings, not that it helped much. The room was a very simple one, with nothing more than a bed and a small, locked cabinet (devoid of food) for furniture. The door didn't seem to be locked, but turned out to be too heavy for Teioh to push open. Teioh considered his options: the only way to open the door that he could come up with was to blast it with a Psybeam, which didn't seem like a particularly smart thing to do, and the only other exit available was the window. Teioh found this extremely frustrating. What good were his powers if he couldn't even turn a bloody doorknob? Teioh looked up, in his famished state the doorknob, looming a good bit beyond his reach, seemed as overwhelming an obstacle as the factory wall he had reacently cleared. He had had some leverage that time, but there was none to be had here, except for...Teioh's eyes traveled towards the bed It's worth a shot he figured, jumping back onto the bed and gathering as much speed as he could muster.

After a few rather embarassing failures Teioh managed to latch his weight onto the doorknob, holding it firmly between his front paws. With a creack, the door swung as far backwards as its hinges would allow it leaving Teioh to roam. Which way? he thought for himself, cautiously peering into the dark corridor, in case someone had come to inspect the noise. Making his decision fairly quickly, Teioh turned to the left and started walking down a deserted aisle in search of anything edible.

"Sit down? More stuff? Is it worse stuff?!" Mara squeaked, suddenly finding herself sitting where she was, which was in the middle of the floor. Earlier she had gotten up from the bed, and rather than sitting on it again, she stared over at Seth, and plopped down onto the carpet below her.

{If there are people after Teioh, we should go to him and protect him!} suggested Squirt, standing up. She had gotten excited about these recent events; probably because life had been so dull lately. Whatever the reason, she felt thoughrouly connected to what was going on.

Growlithe sighed, {There's no need to get so worked up over someone we barely know.} He looked a bit annoyed.

Squirt looked a bit taken aback, and frowned in defiance at her friend.

"Okay," said Mara, now clutching a pillow as she sat, "I'm prepared; tell me."

"The people that are doig this are LG incorporated. They have created this strange form of water which literally turns humans into their favorite pokemon. I saw two men test it on a maintainence worker, and he to my very horror, changed into a Charmander right before my very eyes..."

He paused and let the silence grip the room for a moment before continuing...

"That's when they noticed me. I began to take off running for a nearby ferry ad barely escaped from being captured myself, and then I ended up here in Balautaenos . I had just defeated another trainer here and had come to this pokemon center to recuperate my pokemon and myself. That's when I bumped into you here and then here we are a few hous later. Walking down aisle, Teioh suddenly stopped. Light shone from behind one of the doors and there was even a muffled discussion to be heard, indicating that whoever occupied it was still awake. Guided by his curiosity, the only sense that could overwhelm his hunger, Teioh snuck quietly to the door, pressing his ear against it in the hopes of overhearing something.

"... I'm sorry to have hid it from you, but I did so in what I thought would be in your best interests. Please, forgive me..." came a familiar male voice from the other side of the door.

Teioh recognized the voice immediately. It was the boy he had accidentally called 'crackpot' a while back. Teioh pressed his ear a bit closer. Has Squirt managed to get the message through to them? he wondered for himself And what's that guy's big secret?

"Pleasant dreams..."

With that, two shinobi guards grabbed the girl after she was loosed from her prison, and one of them once again put a rag saturated with chemical vapors over her mouth

When she would awaken, Rikku would find herself laying in a soft apartment bed in the pokemon center, her room right next to Seth and Mara's. conveniently enought, that bed had an air-vent embedded in the wall on her left. A conversation could be heard coming from the other room...

Mara let out a long sigh, "Wow... that's pretty... wow." She really didn't know what to say; it was all very unbelievable. She shook her head slowly.

"I forgive you; you had good intentions for keeping it from me, and not to mention, why should you tell someone you barely know anyway. I just wonder how many other people have had their lives ruined by these guys," Mara said quietly.

Squirt blinked, {It's awful. Playing around with things like that is... well it's evil!}

"Hey," said Mara suddenly, "If those guys are willing to go to extreme lengths to get those that know about this stuff, then won't they be going after that Espeon too? I mean, he's in there all alone."

Growlithe stood up momentarily, sniffing the air around him.

"I forgive you; you had good intentions for keeping it from me, and not to mention, why should you tell someone you barely know anyway. I just wonder how many other people have had their lives ruined by these guys," came the girl's voice from behind the door. Teioh felt a sudden sting of guilt, the fates of Biggs and Limpy brought fresh to his mind. He gritted his teeth, trying to surpress the lump in his throat, and continued to listen.

"Hey, if those guys are willing to go to extreme lengths to get those that know about this stuff, then won't they be going after that Espeon too? I mean, he's in there all alone."

So, Squirt did it. Teioh thought, although his relief was considerably dampened by the fact that there would probably be LG operatives on his trail, and that sitting defenseless out in a corridor was not a particularly smart thing to do. Suddenly, a strange tingling from Teioh's senses told him that someone was on to him, someone in the room...Growlithe!, Teioh's body stiffened instinctively; friends or no, being caught eavesdropping didn't seem like a prudent choice. After a while, the sensation passed, signaling that the threath of detection was over. Must have given it up. Teioh thought, resuming a more comfortable stance.

Oh bugger... he staggered slightly before regaining his balance and dashing down the corridor, only to stumble on a small, open supply box that had been left on the floor, seemingly for the sole purpose that someone would trip on it. Growlithe growled a bit. How dare some idiot think he could be fooled so easily. It was his smell he recognized, not his voice.

"Oh... well, if it's just a cat or something, I guess it doesn't matter," Mara said calmly, sitting down in a chair again. The excuse seemed good enough for her.

{Leave him alone Growlithe, I think I know who it is,} explained Squirt, walking over the the still growling dog, {And he would have asked to come in if he wanted to.}

Growlithe glanced at her for a moment, and then stopped his growls.

"Um, well, good night!" she said with an awkward smile. She wasn't exactly used to sharing her room with anyone besides her pokemon, let alone a boy.

{Exactly who was that Squirt?} Growlithe interrogated her, {It was that human boy wasn't it?}

Squirt looked at him with a frown, {What's up with you? Why are you so critical of him? He hasn't done anything.}

{I don't know, I just don't trust him. How can you? You barely know him,} he replied with a dirty glance at the door as if Teioh were standing on the other side.

She turned her large lavender eyes on him, {I trust everyone I meet unless I have reason not to. How else would I have ever become friends with you or Mara if I was like you? No, I trusted you when I felt inside that you two were good. That's why I trust Teioh.}

Finally, some rest...

OOC: Yay! Now let's see how many of the other people decide to post. ^-^

As suddenly as Mara had fallen asleep, she was waking up, being nudged by something slightly wet. Opening her eyes groggily, she saw through the darkness that it was Growlithe. At first she wondered if he had seen someone, or if he thought that something bad was happening, but then after seeing his expression she calmed down.

"Growlithe? What is it?" Mara asked in a whisper, sitting up. Growlithe was in her bed, sitting lightly next to her body.

He looked as if he had done something bad; his tail was a bit droopy, and his ears were down.

{I know you can't understand me Mara,} he whined softly, {But I am sorry for how I have acted lately.}

Mara blinked, it was obvious he had finally caught on that his previous behavior was unacceptable.

"That's okay," she replied, "I know you were just trying to protect me and Squirt."

{Yes,} he began, nodding a bit, {But it was still wrong. I needed to focus on the real enemy; not some poor teenage boy that has been caught in the middle of it.}

Mara, not understanding him, assumed he was simply restating his apology, and put a hand on his head. "Now you go back to sleep okay? No more of this whinning, we need our sleep so that we're not vulnerable tomorrow."

Growlithe nodded in consent, and jumped lightly off the bed and curled up near Squirt somewhere on the floor.

Mara smiled at her two pokemon, looked for a moment at the clock that was showing 3:00, and then fell back asleep.

When it was finally morning, Mara awoke to find her two pokemon sharing a morning snack from her backpack.

"Oh," she said getting up from her bed and walking over to them, "I see you two have just decided to help yourselves?"

{Yes we did!} answered Squirt, crunching her snack, {When are we going to see Teioh?} She pointed to the door.

"The Espeon? Oh, uh, I suppose whenever Seth wakes up. I don't want either of you going without me; who knows where those guys are," Mara answered, looking at the door lazily.

Teioh woke up as morning came, his stomach grumbling even worse as he stirred beneath the blankets, vague memories of last night flooding his consciouness. The Espeon shook his head, he could be such an idiot at times. Just as he had decided to come clean about his indiscretion when he next met up with the two trainers his thoughts were interrupted by the creaking of the door.

"Good morning." Nurse Joy called, walking into the room in the company of a chansey who was, to Teioh's relief, carrying a bowl of food which the pokmon placed on the floor. Blind to the usual code of etiquette Teioh eagerly jumped down from his bed and started eating to his heart's conent. The food wasn't as strange as one might expect, it was actually rather good and had the distinct taste of chicken.

"My, my. Aren't you hungry?" Joy asked, patting Teioh on the head, something the boy took a measure of guilty enjoyment in, "Well, you seem to have recovered well. I'm sure your friends will be happy to hear it."

Teioh looked up towards the nurse, licking the last crumbs of food from his lips.

"I'm sure they'll be around shortly." Joy said, noticing the hopefull spark in Teioh's eyes "The way they were talking about you back there, they wouldn't leave you I'm sure."

Teioh nodded, not bothering to upset the nurse with his attempts at mindspeak, and begged himself a bowl of water instead. Things are definitely looking up. he thought for himself as he drank the liquid, his throat expressing its delight. The confusion would soon be cleared up...

The sound of blankets shifting around filled the room as Seth stirred from underneath the sheets and slowly arose to yawn, stretching his arms out as he did. After wiping his eyes of any "sand," he blinked a couple times before looking over to see that Mara was already awake. Note that his hair was currently messed up- Half of it was sticking up on his left side. It looked rather comical...

"Mmm... Mornin', Mara..." He said in a drowsy tone of cvoice as he began to look around the room, throwing the covers off of his body and sitting up on the bed. He smirlked when he spotted Squirt and Growlithe.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked Mara, reaching down to grab his jacket and setting it upon his lap before looking back up at her.

August 9th, 2005, 12:26 PM
OOC: We're doing this to you on purpose, you know. *wink*

"I slept alright," Mara answered, nodding. She made a giggle at Seth's hair, but stopped herself so that she wouldn't embarrass him too much.

{We should check on Teioh, who knows what might have happened during the night!} suggested Squirt. Growlithe made a small grunt, but did nothing else to suggest that he disagreed with her decision.

Mara guessed at what Squirt had just mentioned; it wasn't that hard.

"Yes, I agree Squirt, we should go check on that Espeon, I mean, we're all in the same boat now, aren't we?" Mara said to Seth as he got out of bed, "Maybe we can even do something to help him out."

Mara had already gotten dressed before Seth had woken up, so she was ready to go. She looked down to Growlithe and then back up at Seth.

"I can go on ahead while you get dressed and stuff," she said to him, "I've got Growlithe and Squirt to protect me. Plus, Nurse Joy will be around. Lucky for me I've got a loud screaming voice. Nobody's gonna get to me without anyone else hearing."

With that, I picked up my pack, and headed to the door. Growlithe and Squirt following close behind.

We walked down the hall and entered into the area of the center where sick and injured pokemon had their own rooms.

{There's the room!} said Squirt, as she pointed toward one of the rooms.

We walked in to see Nurse Joy checking up on the Espeon with some food and water.

"Oh hi," Mara said to Joy, giving a little wave.

"Hello there, I was just talking about you and that boy, Seth," she said sweetly with a smile.

"Oh," said Mara, smiling nervously. She always got a bit embarrassed when people talked about her.

Squirt approached the purple pokemon and sat next to him. {Hi Teioh! Did you know you were very bad at making cat noises?} she asked the Espeon with a smirk.

OOC: I knew it! It's a conspiracy!

"See?" nurse Joy asked, turning to Teioh with a smile "I told you your little friends would come back. He's been fidgetty all morning." she continued, turning back to Mara "I could almost swear I heard him ask about it just now." she gave a laugh to signify how ridiculous it sounded.

At Squirt's comment, Teioh gave a sheepish grin {I guess...} he muttered {But seriously, I'm sorry about what I did last night. You see...I was hungry, and then I snuck out of my room to get something to eat...but then I heard those two talking behind this door. And I got curious and..." he realized what a shabby explanation this was {Anyway, I'm sorry.} Teioh concluded, before turning towards the humans in the room.

To his relief, the nurse finally realized that she had worn out her welcome. "Well, your Espeon friend seems to be all better now, so I'll just give you some privacy then, shall I?" she asked, instructing the Chansey to collect the dishes and follow her out of the room.

{Here goes...} Teioh muttered with a hint of nervousness as Joy had left the room and closed the door behind her. He jumped back up on the bed so his face would be on level with Mara's, locked eyes with her and focused. Without the fatigue and hunger clouding his senses Teioh's powers seemed to work as a strange sensation came over him. As if a thin thread went through his forehead and into Mara's.

Right. Teioh stated, unsure how to begin. Can you hear me now?

August 10th, 2005, 12:04 PM

Mara smiled as Nurse Joy left the room and she gave a little wave to the Chansey too. Then when she turned around, she noticed that Teioh was now eye-to-eye with her. She blinked a few times nervously, unsure of what the pokemon was trying to do, when suddenly a little voice appeared in her head.

Right, it said to her, Can you hear me now?

Mara almost jumped, but held her ground, and her eyes were wide when she spoke.

"Um... yes? Is that you Espeon?" Mara asked, utterly stunned.

'Although,' she thought to herself, 'He is a human, so I guess I should stop calling him "Espeon".'

However, Mara didn't realize that she couldn't just talk to herself anymore, considering there was someone psychically communicating with her.

Yeah, I'd appreciate it if you stopped calling me Espeon. Teioh confessed My name is Teioh. And if it's not too much trouble, could you refrain from referring to me in third person as well? It's kind of degrading. he paused for a moment, relieved that he had actually managed to make this work for a change By the way. he added I haven't had the chance to thank you for your help yet. Might I know the name of my saviour? he tilted his head slightly, taking a pause to let Mara phrase a response.

A bit taken aback by the forwardness of Teioh, Mara had to think for a moment before she realized he was waiting for her response.

"O-Oh! Sorry, my name's Mara. Oh, and you're welcome I guess. You know my two pokemon already I assume, and Seth is the boy that was with me yesterday. He sure is taking a while to get dressed," Mara replied, wondering what was keeping Seth, "Hope he's okay."

Squirt looked at Teioh thoughtfully and spoke up, {What do you look like as a human?}

Growlithe walked over to stand next to Squirt. He said nothing but continued to watch the three of us.

I'll tell you in a moment. Teioh communicated to Squirt before turning his attention back to Mara. But I meant no offence. he took a brief pause again Regardless, It's a pleasure to meet you Mara. Now, I believe you wanted to ask me some questions the last time we met, yes? "Well," replied Mara, feeling a bit better since Teioh apologized, "I'd like to know what had happened to you. How did you get to be a pokemon? I know that Seth saw someone get turned into a pokemon; but how'd they do it to you?"

Squirt continued to watch thoughtfully. She was enjoying all of this, and she had this strange feeling of excitement.

Growlithe looked rather bored; why did any of this really matter? Weren't they supposed to be on a journey? Why did Mara have to stop and deal with all this? Had she changed into a pokemon? No; so why did it matter so much to her to stick herself into other people's business...?

Well, it's a bit complicated. Teioh replied, scratching his hind-leg once more You might want to take a seat... With that, the boy extended the mindlink to Squirt and Growlithe, so as to avoid having to repeat himself, and duly recounted the events that had lead to this point. How he had ran away from home after a huge quarrel with his parents, how Biggs picked him up on the roadside, how they were both tricked and intimidated into drinking the spiked water, and finally his daring escape from the LG factory with the aid of Limpy. Seth was actually searching for his other sneaker as this was going on. He finally found the thing, converniently kicked under the noghtstand. Great. Realizing that he couldn't reach there, he decided that maybe he can ask Ekans to help him out here.

"Come on out, Ekans! Can you help me out, buddy?"

The pokemon slithered under the nightstand and shorly slithered back into the open, shoe in its mouth. Seth grinned as he gladly tooked the shoe and slipped it onto his foot.

"Thanks!" He said as he smiled before recalling Ekans and heading out the room, heading towards Teioh's room down the halls at a brisk pace. But a man walking down the hall caught his eye almost immediately. His stacture was that of a 6'3" giant, with a well-toned physique. He was a cue ball, devoid of any hair on his head but a few bristles on his chin and his eyebrows. His skin had a slightly golden tan to it, and he wore a jet black suit. His tie had a green and a silver lapel pin, the initials on it displaying the abbreviation "LG" embossed upon- Wait a minute, LG!? Oh, wonderful...
Not wanting to attract attention to himself, he made his way to the room.

"Sorry I'm late," He said as he entered the room and took a seat in the other chair. "I had to conduct a bit of a manhunt for one of my sneakers. Anything I missed?"

(OOC: I got the guard! ^^ )

[The night before:]

A middle-aged and slightly obese security guard suddenly awoke to a strange sound coming from he lockdown area, dropping a bottle of what appeared to be rum as he suddenly sprung awake.

"Hrrrn... Hrrgh...? What the...?" He murmured in a sleepy voice as he sat up and grabbed his flashlight gingerly from his belt. Without wasting time, he turned it on and then proceeded to stand up and began to hobble-walk down the hall, using his free hand to pull his sagging pants back up over his briefs. One might even say that he looked ike the world's human doughboy. As he continued to hobble down the halls, lmos tripping over a box at one point, he stood upon his tippy-toes and shined the light where Lati and most of the pokemon were being held. The Charizard had been isolated, however, due to safety concerns from the staff members.

Fortunately, the guard was... Well, let us just say there was a very strange twinkle in his eyes as this all occurred, shall we?

"Oh, it's just the little fishies banging round in their steel cages. Fishies funny!" He said in a strangely disoriented tone before getting off his tippy-toes and hobbing back to his post tohis chair, which he fell into before snoozing again.

[back to NOW]

Seth smirked.

"So, it is just like I suspected. LG is after you as well..."

What Teioh may be able to sense within the young man next to him, however, was a slowly rising tide of anger towards the corrupt corporation. If these guys were willing to kill anyone or anything in their way, then they probably would have no prblem with
ordering them to be executed.

"Teioh," He said as his expresson suddenly became very serious and stern.

"Who's pulling the strings on this operation...? What did they look like?"

"Oh my gosh... so you were like that guy that Seth saw! You drank something and then... and then...," Mara trailed off, looking worried, "This is crazy."

{Crazy, but true,} added Squirt, folding her arms.

Mara looked over to the door as someone had just opened it. To Mara's relief it was Seth, and he appeared to be sound and whole. He apologized for his lateness and explained about having to search for a sneaker. Mara was glad to know that he had not been kidnapped or turned into a pokemon.

Seth then asked if he had missed anything, and Teioh began a second recount of his story.

As Seth asked Teioh what the men looked like, Mara wondered something too.

"I wonder if there's any way to change you back? I mean, they must have some antidote in case of accidents with their workers," Mara said, but suddenly a thought occurred to her, "Then again... maybe they don't care about what happens to their workers."

Well... Teioh began, answering Seth's question first I'm not excactly sure who's pulling the strings. But I do know that Bigg's said those siamese freaks who spiked our water were LG excecutives. As for your question Mara, I doubt they have an antidote. If some of their people accidentally drank the stuff they'd probably just be sold with the rest of em'. he took a brief pause But...Limpy did mention that I was a bit of an unusual case. Most people loose their minds during the transformation, you see. So maybe they put a more advanced compound in mine? We'll just have to wait and see about that I guess. Not that being an Espeon is that terrible, mind you. he added thoughtfully I just wish I could turn doorknobbs and talk.

August 11th, 2005, 10:03 AM

"Yeah you're probably right," replied Mara, "Why would I think that such people would actually care?"

Right then Growlithe stood up from his relaxed position and sniffed the air. He had smelled something suspicious just before Seth had come in, but brushed it off as Seth himself. Now he wasn't too sure and walked up to the door.

Mara turned around. "What is it Growlithe?" she asked, walking up to the door and looking through the small window near the top.

As she looked through it she saw a man talking to Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy nodded and pointed down the hallway to the room they were all standing in.

"H-Hey! There's a bald guy out there talking to Nurse Joy and she just pointed to this room!" Mara informed the others outloud, "He doesn't look like the kind to want to leave flowers and a get well card for Teioh either!"

Teioh attuned his senses to the thoughts of the man outside, and he didn't like what he sensed It's an LG opperative. he stated What do we do? emotions of worry coursed out from Teioh. There was nowhere to hide and if the LG employee discovered him, his friends would undoubtedly be in trouble. I doubt this one will be fooled by the old cat immitation. Suddenly, Teioh's stomach knotted itself and he had a feeling that would ususally send him running to the bathroom. He staggered slightly as his body began to glow, his long, slender tail turning into a small, bushy one, his ears narrowing and his vision faultering as the ground beneath Teioh's feet rushed to meet him once more.

When the LG operative entered the room the first thing he saw was an unconscious Umbreon lying on the pokmon center bed.

The LG operative glanced down at the group, his face stoic as ever.

"You two trainers happen to see an Espeon in here?" He asked, leaning down, only raising an eyebrow. He did lookm nevertheless, rather intimidating...

Seth,m quixckly realizing that he didn't realize who he was, quikckly replied.

"Uh... No, sir. Sorry..."

The man, lowered his shades and gave Seth a hard piercing stare.

"Are you sure...?"

He leaned back and moved his shades into position again and stood there silently dfor a moment before walking out.

'"Have a good day,.." He said, shuttting the door as he salked out of the room. There was a moment's silence before Seth breathed a sigh of relief.

"Phew, that was close..."

August 11th, 2005, 6:23 PM
OOC: Moving along then...

"What the...?" Mara trailed off, both confused and awed by the sight of what was happening to Teioh.

Squirt shot an apprehensive glance to Growlithe, and Growlithe took a moment to look into her large, lavender eyes and suddenly leaped forward. He grabbed her up in his mouth and shoved her into a pile of used towels sitting in the corner behind the door.

"Cover up," he said gruffly, and then darted up to stand in front of Mara.

By then, the man had come into the room, and was staring at Teioh the Umbreon with a puzzled expression.

The LG opperative shot around to look over Seth, his bald head gleaming in the bright lights on the ceiling. Mara was sincerely hoping that Seth was very good at acting.

He asked Seth a few times if he had seen an Espeon, but Seth remained calm and stood his ground. After a few tense moments, the man left, and the room relaxed.

"Squirt?" I asked, looking around.

Squirt emerged from the pile of rags from behind the door. She looked disgruntled, and shot Growlithe a glare.

{What on Earth was the meaning of pushing me into a pile of dirty towels that were covered in who knows what?!} she asked savagely.

Growlithe looked a bit offended, but remained cool, {Those men wanted you from before, who's to say that that man wouldn't have wanted you as well.}

"Luckily he believed you Seth," Mara expressed, still feeling a bit shaken. She didn't take hard times too well.

"Teioh? You okay?" she added, looking at the unconscious Umbreon.

Slowly, the Umbreon began to stir. It's black eyelids opening to reveal a pair of light blue eyes.

[Mmph?] Teioh got back on his feet a bit unsteadily. [Whoa, looks like blacked out for a moment. What happened to the LG worker?] he looked around at the confused stares he was recieving from the others in the room. [Hmm?] he went over to Squirt who was usually the most level-headed one [What are you guys looking at?] he flicked his tail tentatively as he awaited her reply, the tail felt kind of different now but he couldn't really say why.

August 12th, 2005, 6:46 AM
OOC: I don't see why not. I mean, you used psychic powers to transform, and you'll need them to change back, so you should still be able to talk psychically, right?

{We're staring at you,} Squirt replied with a supressed giggle, {Because you're no longer a purple pokemon with a long, slender tail.}

She giggled a bit more, and looked at Growlithe, who was not smiling that much at all.

On the contrary the dog pokemon felt uneasy about that LG man that had just been in there. He didn't like Mara and Squirt being mixed up with all of this and could just sense that if they didn't move away from this place soon, that more men would come; men that would not be so easily fooled.

Mara could tell that Growlithe was unhappy about this, and she wished that there were something she could do to ease his mind. "Wanna go in yor pokeball for a rest?" she asked, hoping this would make him relax.

Growlithe shook his head. He cared too much about Mara and Squirt to leave them alone like that. He could do without rest. For now.

{Huh?} Teioh skipped over to a nearby mirror he hadn't spotted earlier and examined himself. {So...I'm an Umbreon now?}he asked, not feeling quite as surprised at his transformations anymore. {Well, that was an utterly disturbing and unsatisfying experience.} Suddenly, another thought struck him, would he be able to communicate in this form? He turned towards Mara and to his relief the powers worked with a little extra effort. "Some LG goon showed up, presumably looking for you..." Seth replied, looking around the room in observation.

He saw that Mara's Growlithe was also very wary as well. The other pokemon seemed oblibvious almost to what may be the impending danger. Saying nothing as he replied solely to Teioh through his thoughts as he made direct eye contact with the small and dark pokemon before him.

(Teioh? Teioh, can you hear me? It's me, Seth.) He thought telepathically. Thankfully, he knew how to communicate with psychic life-forms; make eye contact and direct your thoughts to that being. How did he know this? Simple; One of his closest cousins just so happened to be Sabrina, the telepathic gym leader of Saffron City in Kanto. She taught it to him a couple years ago during a family picnic in his home town.

(Listen Teioh, I have a feeling that if we don't leave town soon, LG is going to sick some goons after us. I think that if you stick with us however, we can figure out how to stop them. I know of quite a few towns where we can all stick together to lay low, so don't fret over that stuff; I have it covered. The reason I didn't say this out loud is because I don't want to worry Mara and I don'twanther to know that we may all be in impending danger. What do you say?)

[Meanwhile, back in Rikku's room...]

The phone in the off corner began to ring and fill the room with its sound. It finally stopped ringing, and then the automated womanly voice began to speak:

["Hello, this is trainer suite A6 at the Balutaenos City Pokemon Center. We are currently unavailable, so please leave a message at the sound of the tone."]

Then, a pair of two familiar voices on the other end of the linre began to speak...

I hope you're right... Teioh sent back before breaking the link. He listened to the way Seth made his case; there was nothing directly dishonest about it, just a lot of obscured truth. The boy didn't really know if this was a good thing or a bad one. Seth meant good, that was for sure. But he was also very confident in his ability to percieve what was good for everyone, without bothering to consult them about it. But that, he thought for himself is something I can help with. Two heads are better than one, and I can always tell Mara or Squirt if Seth won't.. He turned to face the two trainers, awaiting the girl's reply with a measure of anxiety, his left ear twitching tentatively.

Lati woke up...again...but she felt different....She stood up slowly and looked at Tala,whose head seemed higher than usual, and whose eyes were filled with bewilderment...{Tala, Whats wrong...?} Her voice seemed different too...

"Um...Lati...you..you arn't an Eevee anymore..." tala said softly.

{WHAT?!?!?} Lati exclaimed, looking at herself....{wha...? I..I'm a mudkip?!?!?}

Myst shook his head curiously...{yah, you looked at me, blacked out, then turned into me...I dunno why, but....hmmm}

{What happened to me..i...i can change...?} Lati asked{..this could be useful...i wonder if i could....}

OOC: Okay, I'm finally here! >_<

Mara turned her head toward Seth, "Yeah, I agree. All these weird guys wandering around looking for you two, we should probably get outta here."

Squirt was eyeing Seth and Teioh as they conversed telepathically, and wondered what they had been discussing so seriously. However, she was sure that if it were something very important, then they would have told them right away.

Thinking to herself for a second, she looked from Seth to Teioh and folded her arms. "And I am coming with you two to help you of course. I mean, I have a sneaky feeling that those men who were after Squirt were also the ones after you two," she added, "Besides, I've been traveling alone for quite some time now, and it's really boring. To have some friends to be with would be a nice change." She still didn't realize just how much potential danger she was in, but would she have cared if she knew?

Mara hoped she didn't overstep her bounds too much by calling the two boys 'friends'. After being a part of something as serious as this; what else could they be?

Friends? Teioh felt a mixture of happiness and guilt at this statement, particularly the latter since he had just agreed to keep a secret from her, but he pushed that thought aside. It's settled then. he 'said' And...it means a lot to be called 'friend' for a change. he added, his tail wagging a bit on its own accord as a positive wave of gratitude coursed through the link It's been a good while since I've had any real friends who actually remained-. He cut of the sentence in the middle, afraid to highlight what had happened to Biggs and Limpy and decided to change the subject. Anyway, we should get moving as fast as we can then...better not push our luck with the local operatives. Oh, and feel free to send me out into battle if needed, I want to put these powers of mine to good use, and as far as I'm concerned I still owe you.

Seth beamed when he heard the word "friend" exit Mara's lips. Hestood up anx made a declarative gesture as he continued to smile.

"Alright then, it's been decided! Let's get going, my friends!"

But, just then, a slight rumbling noise was heard in the room.

his stomach... Seth's cheeks suddenly became flushed with a slight scarlet and a beam of sweat began to drift down his brow as he began to scratch the back of his head out of the complete awkwardness of the situation.

"Hehehe..." Seth began as he chuckle nerrvously. "On second thought... Can we eat first??? I seem to be starving!"

Alter Ego
August 14th, 2005, 8:29 AM
Teioh rolled his eyes, this venture was in for a right jolly start. But he realized that Seth and Mara probably hadn't eaten breakfast yet, and it was much more convenient to let them eat here than to go straggling and let fatigue and hunger create tension in the party. Alright... he replied But try to make it quick, alright? No need to take unnecessary risks. For the sake of convenience I'll just pretend that I belong to one of you. And I think it's better if you'd eat somewhere else than in the pokmon center mess hall. People might pose awkward questions about a missing Espeon if you do. Teioh strode over to the door. Let's be off then, shall we?

August 15th, 2005, 7:06 AM

"Hm...," Mara said, rubbing her own stomach, "I agree, let's get a quick bite and then zoom out of here."

{Yes, very quick,} Growlithe said with a nod.

With that, Mara opened up the door and cast a careful eye down the hallway before exiting with a slight nod to Seth and Teioh that the coast was clear. Growlithe seemed to make it his job to stand in front of Mara; protecting her from the foes yet to be seen.

Squirt seemed to think of it as funny.

{Oh! Look out Growlithe! There's an invisible headless Chansey that's going to spit on us! Attack it!} she squealed, hardly concealing her giggles.

{It's not funny,} growled the dog, throwing a glare at her after almost attacking a drinking fountain, {It's serious business.}

Squirt folded her arms, {Oh, you never want to have any fun.}

Mara walked out of the Pokemon Center, and Mara suggested finding a fast food place. That would be fast. So they found Burger Fantasy, and went in and looked at the menu. "Well, there's eggs, sausage, the usual... ooh they even have pancakes! I think that's what I'll ha--." But upon remembering the look on Teioh's face about hurrying, she quickly changed her mind.

"Okay then, how about a breakfast burrito? Those are easy and fast to eat," she said, going up to the ordering spot and ordering one. She grabbed it, ate it, and was ready to go in no time at all.

All that was left was to wait for the others; namely Seth.

Deadly Aim
August 15th, 2005, 8:24 PM
Seth simply decided to order some hash browns, a quick and tasty meal and two small, disposable plastic cups of OJ with matching plastic straws. It was fast, it was cheap, and furthermore, a good way to start the day. After paying the 500 pokedollars for his meal, Seth then went back to where the others were, quickly wolfing the hash browns down and chucking the cardboard container into a nearby garbage bin, and had stuck one straw in the foil cover of his small OJ container, taking a sip before hand the other to Mara.

"You may want to rehydrate- We're gonna be traveling, so it may be a while before we have nothr oppurtunity to do so. Good way to wake up, too!"

After doing so, he made a quick stop to the general store in the pokemon center and bought a white knapsack, a small cold-storage bag and 4 bottles of fresh water right out of the freezer, pitting them in the storage bag after he left the store and stowing them away in his slightly medium-sized knapsack, which took only about three minutes. He smiled confidently as he closed in on the group.

"Well, now that we're done," He said amiably."Does anyone feel that they need to use the restroom before we set off?"

August 16th, 2005, 7:23 AM

"No, I'm fine," replied Mara, looking out toward the road, "Let's get going."

Squirt nodded. She felt like staying out of her pokeball even though she would have normally been in it. Mara had even offered for the tiny turtle to go in, but she had refused. Plus, it was clear that Growlithe had stayed out even though he would've wanted a rest, so she was going to do the same.

Mara looked a bit puzzled, "Where are we headed anyway? We must have some destination in mind, I mean, we can't just go willy-nilly around the whole continent without a plan. Though I do agree we should at least go anywhere to get away from this city."

Alter Ego
August 16th, 2005, 7:30 AM
I agree... Teioh, who had been silent this far, commented at Mara's statement, addressing the whole group for the convenience of it, You have a disturbing tendency to keep your friends in the dark mister Wayes, no offence meant. I would appreciate knowing our destination as well.

Teioh was aware that his statements towards Seth had a hard edge to them, but he couldn't explain why. It just happened.

Sorry... he added I can't seem to form a single sentence today without making it sound offensive. Excuse me... the Umbreon regained his previous silence, striding a bit ahead of the group but keeping his senses peeled and his ears attuned to the conversation.

August 16th, 2005, 7:41 AM

Mara looked over to Teioh with a slightly surprised look. He did have a way of coming off as a bit rude, but... he wasn't as bad as others Mara knew.

Squirt walked up to the side of him. {Oh it's okay, look at Growlithe, he always sounds grumpy and rude. Actually, I think it's become something of a habit of his,} she said to Teioh, smiling.

Growlithe made a snort, but then remained his usual silent self.

{Besides,} she continued, {You forget that when you speak psychically, your thoughts are your words. You don't have time to double-check them as you would when you you're talking with your mouth. They just sort of spill out.}

Growlithe raised an eyebrow, {How do you know this?}

The blue turtle's eyes glittered a bit, {I don't know... maybe it was something I used to know in my past,} she paused and the shrugged, {But who knows? I can't remember anything else, can I?}

Mara was still awaiting what Seth would say.

Teioh sighed but gave a small smile, {Thanks, Squirt.} he said {But to tell you the truth I don't quite know why I'm being so rude. I never used to be this bad as human. Not even in my thoughts and certainly not among friends.}

The youth took a pause, his brow furrowing.

{But now I feel...I don't know. Agitated, frustrated somehow. I get this feeling that something has changed, and I don't just mean my appearance.} he sighed again, his tail drooping {Maybe I should just leave...Mara and Seth have enough problems on their own, they don't need my mood swings to drag them down.}

August 17th, 2005, 7:20 AM
OOC: Hey, where's Deadly Aim?? We can't figure out where we're going without our leader?! XD

Squirt looked sadly at the dark pokemon before her. {Nah, don't say that, you know Seth and Mara wouldn't let you just leave like that. You're like them; hunted by the same people. Whether you like it or not, I think you're stuck with us,} the turtle said, nodding, {You just need to give yourself some time to figure out the new you. After all, you just got transformed and who knows what side effects that stuff has!}

At this part, Growlithe began to eye Teioh more suspiciously. Squirt gave him a warning look.

{Oh really Growlithe,} she said as she rolled her eyes, {That doesn't mean he's going to start biting and trying to kill us all; give it a rest!}

Growlithe ignored her. She wasn't skilled or old enough to understand the responsibility that comes with having someone you've been with so long that you'd give your life to defend them. That's how he felt about Mara, and nothing Squirt could say would make him change his attitude about the world around him.

{You're right.} Teioh replied, feeling incredibly stupid about his idea. He knew he would be a lot more helpful for his friends if he stayed with them and saw to their well being. Yes, that he would do. As repayment for his rescue and lack of manners. {And please don't take it the wrong way.} he added hastily to Squirt {I couldn't think of better company to be in and I'll do my best to protect all of you.} he glanced at Growlithe. {Even though some trust me a bit less than others. Thank you Squirt.} the Umbreon said, turning to the Squirtle, eyes gleaming with gratitude {You've really been a great friend, despite my grumpiness. If there's anything you need help with, anything at all. Don't hesitate to ask.}

Suddenly stopped and scratched his head as he chuckled out of slight enbarrassment.

"Whoops! I had a feeling I forgot something..." He said as his cheeks flushed. He dug out a small device from his jacket that looked like a blue GBA SP, but instead of GBA controls and buttons, there was 2 buttons, one green, one blue, and a touchpad. It was the new 2.0 version of the Devon Pokenav. Seth hit the blue button to turn the power on, then he manuvered the the cursor and hit the button to open the map. He maneuvered the cursor over a small black dot in the near center of the region. It had a small lake near it, it's position was embedded in the hills. Seth smiled as a small box appeared next to the highlighted dot. The words "Separt Village" were clearly written in the box as Seth moved to show his friends.

"That," He said with a grin on his face."Is our next destinsation. Separt village: My hometown."

August 18th, 2005, 11:14 AM
OOC: Ah, well, I guess I can excuse being too busy. ^-^

{Aw...,} said Squirt nervously, {You're making me embarrassed! But you're welcome all the same Teioh.}

Growlithe brushed off Teioh's comment and didn't really care. He wasn't the kind to listen to people unless he knew them well and liked them.

"Separt Village huh?" repeated Mara, nodding, "I've heard of that place. Isn't that kinda small townish? I mean, smaller than my hometown of Intertwine City. Anyway, I've never been there, but my Mom once said that their lake is an awesome place to visit."

Mara's mother had visited there years ago with some friends and gone camping near the surrounding forests and visited the lake many times. She always had a funny story to tell from that trip, and Mara had liked listening to them.

"That also happens to be where Growlithe's from, that is if he remembers," added Mara, shooting Growlithe an amused look.

Growlithe continued to remain silent. He had no wish to relive his very early childhood.

{Yes,} replied Squirt, {Those must have been his puppy days! Growlithe as a itty bitty puppy! Though, he's always very serious about it; hardly tells us anything. I think he has something embarrassing to hide. Probably something bad.}

Growlithe smiled inwardly. If she only knew. However, he wasn't about to tell them all; and he hardly thought that they would run into anything to do with his childhood, so there was no reason to.

So, I guess it will be a homecoming for you then. Teioh noted to Seth, hearing that they were going to Separt Village. I can't say I know the place very well, but from what I've heard it's rather small and a bit out of the way so it should make for an excellent hiding spot. I just hope I'm not bringing any trouble to you folks... he shook his head at his own last statement Feh, I'm always such a pessimist. Maybe I'll be more positive once I'm out of the city. he concluded, continuing his walk at a more positive note nonetheless, a visit to greener places would probably cheer him up. No, it would certainly do so, this Teioh's senses told him. Umbreon's are travellers by nature and Espeon's were sensitive to the emotions of the people around them, maybe it was the hectic atmosphere of the city getting to him? That he would probably get to see.

"We'll find out soon I guess," said Mara, looking down at Teioh. Then a thought suddenly occurred to her, and she turned to Seth again.

"How're we getting there anyway? That's quite a ways to walk. We could take the train, the bus, whatever."

Squirt nodded, {I like the train. We can get a compartment of our own; we don't have to sit with everyone else and gain any unwanted attention.}

Mara was also thinking of the train; but it would not be cheap. She quickly brought her purse out as she waited for Seth to answer, and checked her money supply. She had earned quite a bit of money from pokemon battling after leaving home, and she noticed that there was still a good deal of it left.

Growlithe straightened for a moment and sniffed the air. He then stopped and shook his head.

{What is it?} asked Squirt, looking a bit concerned.

{I feel as if someone's following us. I can't smell anything, but that might just be because if they're following us from behind, they're downwind,} he explained, his eyes peeled and staring hard behind the group.

{Could it be you're just imagining it?} Squirt smiled, looking relaxed again.

Growlithe though continued to look vigilant; though this wasn't too different from what he considered "normal".

"Well, the quickest way is the train, but it only goes so far. After it makes the stop at Biffin Town, we'll have to hoof it for a day or two before we would arrive at Separt. If we take the bus, we'll run too high of a risk of running into LG goons. Besides, I have an alternative..."

He reached into his right pocket and pulled out two passes for the regional rail service, the Sashi Express.

"See? This'll solve This is one of the ways I got here! This means we don't need to pay the ticket fee! These are good for 4 more rides, in fact!"

"You okay, Pandora?" Charon asked quietly. She felt sort of self-concious, dressed as she was - instead of her usual jeans and hoodie, she had donned a white skirt and khaki tank top, and she felt incredibly vunerable. In answer, Pandora exhaled, shrinking by at least a centimetre.

Um... and I think we should get to the train already! Our characters will be getting wrinkles if they wait any longer!!

"I think the train station's just up ahead," Mara said, pointing ahead of them. She was glad to be getting around a bunch of other people so that the chances of someone attacking them would be less. Unless these guys didn't care about people seeing? She didn't know, but she would still be glad to rest her feet a bit.

{I hope they have good food,} said Squirt, stretching a bit, {I could go for some beef teriyaki!}

Growlithe closed his eyes, {I don't know what you like in that human food, I prefer our own.}

Squirt nodded, {Yes yes, I know you like your own food, but human food is so much more tastier.}

As Mara neared the top of a small hill, she could see the train station below them. If they hurried a bit, they could make the next train and not have to wait for another hour.

"Come on! The next train leaves in about fifteen minutes! I think we can make it!" Mara said to Seth and Teioh. She began to take off at a quick pace. Growlithe scooped Squirt up onto his back, and took off after his master.

It was an exhilerating feeling for the Umbreon, racing down the street with the wind in his fur. As he quickly zipped down the staircase and past unsuspecting civilians, he quickly ran up to a check-in area that was vacant and slapped the passes onto the countertop as he leaned on it, huffing slightly from running so suddenly.

"Heh... Heh... We... We need clearance to hop on the next train to... Heh... To Biffin Town... Heh... Heh... Please. Heh..." He said huffingly as he looked at the attendant.

"Uh... You and who else??" She said as she looked at the teenage boy with a curious expression upon her face.

"The... The girl behind me..." Seth said as he propped himself back up amnd pointed to Mara to indicate who he was reffering to.

"Oh..." The woman said with a mischevious smile. "I see... Just a couple of young lovers trying to get away from it all, right?" She said before winking at the young man.

Almost instantly, Seth's cheeks suddenly became flushed with a bright hue of red and his heart rate began to rise as he suddenly began to wave his hands wildly in denial.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on there ma'am! It's nothing like that, we're friends!" He said frantically.

He turned over to Mara.

"Isn't that right, Mara?" He saiid quizzically.

the attendant suppressed an urge to giggle like a laughing hyena before waving that statement away with a gesture from her hand.

"Never mind, never mind... Your train is at platform A2." She said in an amused tone with a smile before pulling out a blue checkmark-stamp and stamped out the second slot of each pass before handing them back to Seth.

"Have a nice day, you two! Enjoy the ride!" She said whilst beaming at them.

"Thank you!" Seth said eagerly as he quickly took the passes and handed one to Mara, the group once again beginning to bolt down the halls to the platform.

He looked up at the monitor screens that dotted the ceiling of the station's halls.

(Eight minutes until the train leaves... Gotta hurry!) He thought to himself before beginning to run even faster.

OOC: That's okay, we forgive you! After all, if we didn't forgive you, the RPing might get a bit hostile. *imagines Mara and Teioh attacking and killing poor Seth who simply stares off into space because Deadly Aim doesn't post* Yeah, that wouldn't be pretty.

And Cradily... *shudder* you hug what you want, and I'll hug what I want. *hugs Wobbuffet, which is probably equally as strange looking as Cradily* Okay fine, so weird pokemon can be cute.

Mara smiled as they ran to get to their train in time. "You didn't have to get so embarrassed about what that woman said back there Seth," she huffed to him as she continued running, "She's just a silly old woman. Besides, at least it helps us keep a good cover!" She winked.

Growlithe snorted.

Mara chuckled inwardly. She had never been mistaken as a couple anytime in her life, and it made her kinda giggly. But she didn't want to make Seth even more embarrassed, so she kept her giggles to herself.

Squirt seemed to be enjoying her ride, and merely leaned up to Growlithe's ear and said into it, {Faster man, faster!}

Growlithe rolled his eyes. {Here's the train, let's get on quickly.}

Luckily they had made it! The train was just about to start closing and taking off, and if they quickly got on, they would be home free. No one following them could get on the train that quickly!

That never happens with a Cradily though. Anyway, at least you're not glomping Banettes like another friend of mine. *Shudder* Banette...@_@

"Yeah, you need to relax mate." Teioh stated to Seth, grinning slightly as he boarded the train with an elegant jump. Despite the run he hadn't even gotten tired. If anything, the movement had made him more positive and active than before.

The Umbreon peered around the train, looking for empty places for himself his friends. "Let's try to get a window seat." he sent out with a bit more enthusiaism than what might be considered necessary or appropriate considering the circumstances.

Seth continued to walk down the hall until he happened across an empty compartment. It had a nice view to it, a nearby river being seen sparkling in the sunlight as the train chugged onward.

"What about this one?" Seth said as he pointed to it.

OOC: Hmm... now would be a really good time for another character to jump in...! Just a thought.

And I guess knowing what to glomp is all in the eye of the glomper.

"Yeah, let's take it before someone else sees it!" Mara said, ducking into the compartment. She threw herself down onto one of the seats, and looked at her two pokemon.

"Um, Growlithe, it's gonna get kinda tight in here if you stay out, I think perhaps I should...."

Growlithe shook his head though and looked adamant about it, so Mara decided to give in and let him be squished against the wall. If he didn't mind, then Mara had no problem. She was an easy-going person.

Squirt sat on the seat so that she could stand up and put her hands on the window and look out it. {So pretty... and almost familiar in a way...,} she mumbled, gazing at the river.

{Of course it is, we've seen nothing but forest for quite some time before we got to the city here,} replied Growlithe, shaking his head.

"So," said Mara, turning to Seth and Teioh, "When the train ride ends, how far do we have to walk again?"

"As far as we have to probably..." Teioh replied absent-mindedly, leaping up onto a shelf located by the roof and actually intended for luggage.

The Umbreon curled up on his new place, glancing at Growlithe who really seemed to have gotten himself into a tight spot. {It's a lot more comfortable at this level you know.} he commented, peering out over the edge of the shelf so that he could watch the landscape outside of the window, his tail hanging over the edge.

OOC: I'm sick, I'm tired, and my back hurts so please excuse the crankiness of what I'm about to say. But could you please try to put a little more effort into it? This is your entering post in which you are supposed to introduce your character, and you haven't said squat about him, not what he looks like, not how he thinks, not what he's doing there or how he got there... On top of that, you haven't said anything about his surroundings, you write in first person present tense while the rest of us write in third person past, you didn't even meet the one paragraph limit, and could you please punctuate? As it is, that post says next to nothing about anything. :\

August 31st, 2005, 12:56 PM
OOC: I'm gonna have to agree with the "crankster" above me (aww... you're sick? hope ya' feel better soon), try and make your posts a bit longer. Though I am glad someone else jumped in, it would be nice to know a little bit more about you so that I know what to make my character think of you. ^^; I mean, look at the first posts that all of us did in the beginning, those were pretty long! They also gave some history about each of us. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.

Growlithe raised an eyebrow at Teioh, {I'm fine just where I am thank you.} Then he raised an ear up. {Someone's coming!} he said, his head whirling towards the door.

A boy walked in, and didn't seem to care that he had walked in on a group that obviously wanted to be alone.

Mara looked over at the boy, who was sitting next to her now. He said "hi" and she gave a nervous smile. "Um... hello?" Mara said a bit anxiously. There wasn't supposed to be anyone else in the compartment with them; what was going to happen now?

Though she highly doubted that this boy was someone that meant them harm, one could never be too sure. Mara looked worriedly at Seth, wishing she was able to communicate like Teioh and send him a psychic message.

Growlithe reacted as though on cue, and smelled the air to catch the boy's scent. He glared at the boy, tensing up so that he would be ready if anything happened.

Hopefully Mara's eyes would send the message she wanted. 'Hey! Who's this and what are we going to do about it?' she said in her head, hoping body language was enough. She made her head move toward the boy to indicate him to the others. Maybe Teioh would pick up on it.

Squirt looked curiously out the window, daydreaming to herself to the point of not even noticing that someone new had entered their space. {I wonder what it's like to have a past to remember...? I wonder...,} she thought to herself.

OOC: Erm, no offence but you still haven't punctuated (Except for a double question mark where a single one would have been enough), your grammar is quite bad, and you've got some words mixed up. (Namely, are and or.) Also, you could still do with adding a lot of descriptiveness and writing your character's appearance down in your IC post rather than adding a picture. And on top of that, this RP is to be written in third person, I believe Smarty Arty was already asked to change to it so you'll probably have to as well. Your character also needs a bit more in the way of personality expressed in his talking, as does his pokmon. Also, the things your character says should be put in "Quotation marks", thoughts in cursive, telepathical speech in "Cursive Quotes", and poktalk in these thingies: {} to prevent confusion. There's a thread called Adopt-A-Roleplayer over in the Other Roleplaying section where you could get a more experienced RPer to help you improve.

{I'll decide that for myself...} Teioh replied coldly, eyeing the Alakazam with suspicion. Who was this boy to barge into their compartment so rudely and begin asking questions? And why did he have his Alakazam speak to the pokmon instead of himself? Did he think he was above them or something? The Umbreon didn't trust this person or his little moustached lackey one bit and sent this feeling forward to his friends. If only he could talk without revealing his secret...but at least his current form prevented any mind reading on the Alakazam's part.

Compare what others do to how you do. Analyze it as if it were a school project. If you have questions and don't want to spam up the thread, then PM one of us. I'd be glad to help. I think all of us would have some great suggestions for you.

Anyway, good luck with that, now onto more RP'ing:

For once, Growlithe seemed to agree with Teioh. Although he still didn't truthfully trust the Umbreon-human before him, he did feel a bit of his suspicion drain away as Teioh stood up for the protection of the group.

The puppy pokemon looked into the Alakazam's eyes, {I'm sorry, but we would prefer it if you didn't butt into our affairs. And I'd warn your trainer that if he does anything to Mara, he will have me to deal with as well.}

Squirt now noticed what was going on, and jumped down onto the floor of the compartment and walked over to Teioh and Growlithe.

{Hey, who are these guys? Why are you two being so rude to them? Come on, just because they happened to want to share a compartment doesn't mean they want to kill us all,} she said putting her hands on her hips.

Growlithe spoke up, {It's suspicious.}

{Oh, I see,} she said, dropping her voice so that only Teioh and Growlithe could hear her, {And this teenage boy, who doesn't appear to be more than a traveler is going to suddenly attack us and turn us in to the people after us? Come on you two... it makes us look even more suspicious that you're acting so disrespectful and cold. We need to look like nothing's the matter. Like....}

Squirt noticed Alakazam looking at her.

{... like we always do! Huh guys?! We're just a bit nervous being on this train...,} she strode up to Alakazam, {Hello there. My name is Squirtle, but my friends call me Squirt. I'm pleased to meet such a powerful and wise pokemon.} She reached out to take his hand in a handshake, but suddenly realized that he had a spoon in his hand.

{Oops... sorry,} she said, a bit flustered.

Growlithe looked at Teioh, about to ask, What do you think?, but suddenly changed his mind. He didn't need to ask for that human's opinion; why would he even consider it?

Mara nodded at Michael, "Oh, um, well, that's nice to know. I'm Mara. I'm on a pokemon journey and these are my pokemon, Growlithe and Squirt." She indicated her two pokemon.

She gave a careful look at Seth, "And the Umbreon's his," she pointed to Seth.

{Maybe...} Teioh confessed at Squirt's outburst, trying to cover up her little revelation {But I still find it suspicious that he would have his pokmon adress us instead of speaking to us in person.} he gave the psychic pokmon a look of suspicion. {Would you happen to have any explanation for this habit of his?} he asked the Alakazam.

It's still suspicious... the Umbreon thought for himself. Maybe it was a side-effect of his current form, but he found psychic pokmon suspicious by nature, particularly moustached ones.

(OOC: Geez, I'm terrible at keeping up... Also, can someone try to get a hold of Trainer Kat? Rikku is still stuck in bed and she has duties to fulfill... XD )

Seth eyed the Alakazam and its trainer with a fierce shot of suspicion. Who was this guy, and just what right does he think has to just intrude on their private conversation? (Key word: Private!) Growlithe and Teioh were also suspicious, but Squirt apparently didn't seem to mind in the slightest. She seemed to be off in her own little world at the moment, in deep thought over something. After watching Growlithe give what appeared to be a rather stern warning, Squirt suddenly shifted her attention to the Alakazam to say dsomething before Growlithe began to say something. Teioh seemed to be eyeing the psychic pokemon sharply, as though it may attack them at any moment. The tension seemed to be tensing up, but then Mara stood up to speak to mystery man here. Sertth breathed a mental sigh of relief. Way to calm a room...

"Oh, um, well, that's nice to know. I'm Mara. I'm on a pokemon journey and these are my pokemon, Growlithe and Squirt." She indicated the two pokemon at her side before giving a cautious glance at Seth, themn pointed a finger over at him.

"And the Umbreon's his." Mara finished.

This made Seth smile a bit on the inside. A con, eh? This should prove interesting... He stood up to greet the other trainer. Then, he extended his right arm as he made his way over to the other trainer, a bit of a grin on his face, and then grasped his right hand for a handshake.

"Sorry if we all seem a bit paranoid here, we've just been having-" He paused for a moment, flashing a quick look at the others before finishing hjis sentence. "A rough time as of late... Well, don't that, that's our situation. Nice to meet you, Mike! The name's Seth."

He then slowly, but congenially tightened his grip on the other boy's hand until it was surprisingly strong as he shook it. Seth was still grinning as he looked intently into the other trainer's eyes as he did this, making sure mara wouldn't notice as he did so, which is basically his silent little way of saying, 'I'll allow things to be dandy, but do anything "funny," and you'll be dealing with me...'

Releasing his grip gently and his glance, Seth sat down again on the comfy green seating and amiably gestured to the small empty spot next to Mara, which was, coincidentially, right across from where Seth sat. Ths way, if he basically tried anything that would be seen as "crossing the invisible red line," so to speak, Seth was within arm's reach from him, which would render any attempt to flee him almost futile. He looked over at Teioh, glad that his presence rendered the Alakazam's mind-reading capabilities totally useless, another fact that this dear cousin Sabrina had taught him, and began to communicate something telipathically with the Umbreon.

(Teioh...) He thought. (Please, move casually in front of the door... We need to be able to block this guy from leaving the room if he decides to pull a Houdini on us...)

"Roger that..." Teioh replied to Seth, discreetly circling the Alakazam, {So...} he continued slowly, now maintaining an inconspicious but certain position by the door as he continued fixing the psychic pokmon with a persistent stare, his tail gently flicking back and forth. {Can we expect an answer then?}

"What if he teleports out with the Alakazam?" the boy-Umbreon shot over to Seth, realizing a potential flaw in their plan.

"Well," said Mara, "The great thing about this journey of mine so far has been meeting so many wonderful trainers such as yourself Mike! I mean, it's really cool to be connected to so many different people. In fact, I've never even seen an Alakazam before. You must be a very good trainer; I've heard they're very hard pokemon to train. Probably much harder to train than a Growlithe and a Squirtle."

Growlithe felt a surge of pride. Of course he was easy to train; who would be so rude and shameful as to let down their master?

She hoped that some of the tension would leave the room, otherwise they were sure to scare off the unsuspecting trainer; if that's all he was. She smiled at him nicely. Becoming friends with Seth and Teioh sure had helped her feel more comfortable around other boys.

She would treat this Mike as a regular trainer unless she noticed something funny going on. Maybe if she asked him questions about himself, he would slip up if he were someone untrustworthy.

"So Mike? How old did you say you were? Fifteen? Sixteen? I can't remember!" she asked with a smile.

Squirt continued to wait for the Alakazam to answer. She was wondering what was going on and glanced for a few seconds at Teioh.

{Do you think he suspects something?} the blue turtle thought to him, knowing that if she whispered it, he would certainly overhear, and would suspect something for sure.

OOC: Erm... not quite sure how to punctuate pokemon thoughts as... I know Teioh's thoughts are just in quotation marks like human speech, but he's a human really... >_> Meh, um, I'll change 'em if someone has a beef about it. ^^

And that goes double for moustached ones." his tailed flicked back and forth in an agitated manner, the boy-Umbreon's tension mounting at the continued silence of the psychic pokmon.

OOC: Aack! Shortness! >_< Shortness must die! *Vigorously stabs the shortness of the post*

Before anyone could answer anything though, the train haulted slowly to a stop, and the attendants told everyone over a loudspeaker that they had arrived at their destination.

"Wow, that was fast!" Mara said, looking up, "Well, I guess this is where we get off." She was glad to get off anyhow. Meeting someone new was nice, but the awkwardness had been growing, and if they had been sitting there any longer, Mike would have suspected something for sure.

"Let's go Growlithe, Squirt," she said, smiling nicely.

Growlithe began to squeeze out of the room, {Finally.}

{It was getting hot in there, don't you think? A little cramped,} Squirt said while she waved herself.

Growlithe nodded. {I wasn't cramped,} he replied stubbornly.

Squirt shook her head and turned to Teioh, {He'll never admit to being uncomfortable.}

{It was cramped indeed.} Teioh concured at Squirt's first statement as they stepped out of the compartment, although he was obviously referring to their surprise guests rather than the actual space in the compartment.

He grinned a bit at Growlithe's reaction and the Squirtle's second note. "I know the type..." he replied telepathically, stretching his joints a bit and blinking. "So, where to now?" he asked, this time turning to adress the two trainers as well. "After we're properly off the train that is."

September 19th, 2005, 12:13 PM
OOC: GAH! Haven't posted in this in like forever! O__O; Hm... where on Earth's Deadly Aim?? We're gonna need him...

"Well, Teioh's right," Mara said, folding her arms, "Where do we go now, Seth?" She was glad to be out in the open air again, and hopefully away from anyone who would be after them.

{Let's just hope we get a lucky break and find out what's going on and what we can do about all of this stuff happening,} Squirt said, nodding. Growlithe snorted. He hoped that they just forgot about all of this and went on with the way things were supposed to be. He couldn't care less about what happened to ny of these people, really.

"Ooh!" Mara said before Seth could answer, "Look over there!" She pointed to a snack bar with ice cream and shakes.

"How about we get a snack while we talk over what to do?" she suggested, walking towards the shack.

The small stand was old, yet clean, and the girl behind the counted had a lovely smile on.

"Hello there, what can I do ya' for?" she asked them, indicating the menu. Mara walked up first and ordered a chocolate shake. Seth ordered next, then all that was left were the pokemon.

"Do you have anything for pokemon?" Mara asked, drinking her shake. The girl thought for a moment.

"We have a special pokemon ice cream designed for the specific health needs of a pokemon," she said with her smile.

Squirt shook her head, {Ick! Whenever anybody says 'specific health needs of a pokemon' you know it's going to taste like the bottom of someone's shoe.}

Growlithe raised an eyebrow. {I've always liked them,} he said, {It's just you that seems to have the problem.}

Mara looked down at Teioh and Growlithe, "Want one? It's not too much money at all."

Teioh nodded at Squirt's first remark {I agree.} he replied They'll get what's coming to them for what they did to Biggs and Limpy... the boy-Umbreon added in his mind. {The sooner we stop them the better. Although I suppose we should lay low for a moment.}

He gave a melancholic sigh and followed in silence as Seth and Mara approached the snack bar and made their orders. Mara soon turned to offer him something however...

Teioh pondered the offer for a while, it was true what Squirt said; 'Specific for health needs' generally went hand in hand with 'Tastes like something that they've dug out from the gutter' but if the stuff actually worked it would surely be worth taking it. Besides, it had been a fairly long train trip. "Well, no harm in trying, right?" the boy-Umbreon replied at last "Sure, I'd like one."

September 20th, 2005, 7:13 AM
OOC: Well, I'm doing something! And Deadly Aim's just gonna have to miss it. >_>.

Mara nodded, and turned around to order the pokemon shakes. As the lady made them, Seth handed them to the Growlithe and Teioh. Mara was busy trying to find the correct amount of change in her coin purse because she was convinced that she had it somewhere.

"Ah come on, I know it's here," she said with frustration, digging through the tiny pocket-like purse.

That's when Squirt saw it. A drinking fountain a few feet away from them. Her eyes widened with relief; for she really was very thirsty, and she didn't want those awful shakes.

{Be right back,} she said casually to Growlithe and Teioh, {I'm going to get a drink!} She trotted off to the fountain, which luckily had a pokemon drinking part to it so that she could reach it. Growlithe made a grunt that said 'Okay', and continued to be emersed in his shake.

Squirt licked her blue lips and then bent down to drink off of the clear water, when suddenly something grabbed her. She tried to yell, but something had engulfed her. She was in some sort of sack-like cloth.

{What the?! HELP!} she yelled, but it didn't seem to be able to penatrate the bag. Before anyone could notice, Squirt was gone from the drinking fountain; nowhere to be seen.

Growlithe was just finishing his shake; he was quite a fast eater.

Mara brought out a coin, "Ha! I knew I had the correct change! There you go...." The girl looked a bit relieved that finally these customers would be gone. There were a lot of people waiting in line, and Mara had certainly not helped her situation.

Mara turned around with her shake. "Hey," she said, her smile fading a bit, "Where's Squirt?"

OOC: Alas, poor DA, I knew thee well...

{Hmm...it's not half-bad actually...} Teioh commented as he made his way through his ice cream, his pace not much slower than Growlithe's. The boy-umbreon maintained a lazy vigil over Squirt as she announced that she was going to drink, but didn't really bother to watch over the water pokmon that closely. After all, what could possibly happen during such a short trip?

Well...that question became answered far too fast for Teioh's liking as his danger sense suddenly jabbed him at full alert. Looking around Teioh realized, just as Mara pointed it out, that there was a definite shortage of Squirt in the area.

{Oh no...} Teioh said quietly, sniffing the air for a while and following Squirt's scent to the fountain, where it abruptly ended. {Squirt!} he called out frantically, recieving no reply, he stretched any psychic powers he still possessed to their full potential and recieved nothing. "Mara!" he called out telepathically, his mindvoice filled with worry "Squirt's nowhere to be seen! Someone has abducted her!"

OOC: Great... what's Seth gonna do? Take a vow of silence, temporarily become a mime?? XD Maybe we should just keep him going as a NPC for now or something. Whatever, it's still fun to write. ^_^ Maybe you can poke Arty until he comes back? Hm... no, maybe not.

"Squirt?!" Mara called frantically, "SQUIRT!"

Growlithe seemed a bit frozen. He looked absolutely terrified, as if he had just done something horrifying. He only mumbled to himself, {I shouldn't have let her... leave... I should have watched....}

Seth (yeah, yeah, I'm gonna make someone else's character talk, but the guy can't just stand there doing nothing!) stepped forward, his mind seemed to be trying to grasp onto what to do next. "Well he can't have gone far with her!" he said, staring around, "Growlithe and Teioh, you guys need to help us out here!"

Mara scanned the area with her eyes, she saw everything it in the world around her except for any clue to where her little Squirtle would be.

Growlithe seemed to snap out of his trance, {Okay, I'm on it...,} he said, sniffing around the water fountain.

{Squirt was here,} he said hurriedly, looking at Teioh while he said things considering he was the only one that could understand him. {There's another scent here too... many humans drinking, but those are old... there's someone else, an adult woman... her scent leads into the bushes.} His eyes narrowed, {No adult human skulks in bushes in the broad daylight. She must have taken Squirt.}

Mara noticed that Growlithe had gotten the scent, and dashed forward, "Well come on, we have to find her!"

Seth called out as he too bounded forward, "Wait Mara, wait for us all to be together, we don't want you to get kidnapped too!"

{Let me go! Where am I?!} Squirt yelled, though she knew it was useless. All she heard were muffled footsteps and mumbles. It was very dark in the sack, and having little to do made Squirt's mind wander.

Why was it that these people even wanted her? What was she to them?

Unfortunately, she was about to find out....

The sack turned upside-down, and Squirt fell out onto a laboratory table with a thud. She sat up quickly, staring into the faces of a small group of humans that stood in the shadowed light and wore long, white laboratory coats. She trembled a bit, but stared defiantly at them.

{What're you gong to do with me?!} she spat at them, trying her hardest to conceal her growing fears.

Strangely enough, though she had never remembered being here, things felt oddly familiar.

"Ah yes, you were always quite defiant, weren't you Jennifer?" came a male voice from the scientist directly in front of her. He had a smirk on his shadowed face.

Squirt frowned a bit, {Jennifer? Who on Earth are you talking about? My name's--}

But the scientist cut her off, ignoring whatever she had been saying to him, "Silence! You're here because you need to be here. I wouldn't have cared a bit if you had just gone and died; but unfortunately, my wife seems to miss having a child to push around since the accident she had...." He didn't seem sad about saying 'accident', it was more embarrassment.

Squirt hadn't a clue what was going on, but she had a small inkling growing inside of her, and the thought was not helping her fears die down.

But before she had anymore time to think, she felt a hand grab down on her arm, and a piercing pain on her shoulder. The kind of pain that meant a needle had gone into your skin. Squirt yelled again, but there was no one around besides the scientists.

She felt faint suddenly, and though she tried her hardest to stay awake, the world around her began to fade to black... she heard the male voice again.

"Take her to her cell and make sure a guard checks up on her every hour on the hour. Tomorrow we'll take her to the base," he said in the same toneless voice.

Only an hour had gone by when Squirt awoke in her cell. Her body ached, and she was very thirsty, but she was alive at least. The guard had just left from checking her, and the thud of the door must have woken her up. She rubbed her head, and noticed that it was actually quite furry feeling.

Furry? No, she meant hairy.

She felt it again and then looked at the rest of herself. She was... not herself anymore!

"Ahh! What the--?" she stammered, getting up and falling back down from being too weak, "How am I--? Why did they--?" She seemed unable to put what she wanted to express into words. The short, light blue hair, the pale peachy skin, the long legs....

Squirt was no longer a Squirtle. She was her real self; a human.

OOC: Whoo! Long post! I figured doing this from the beginning, 'tis why I made Squirt's background a secret (though it might have been a bit obvious). Hey, it takes a good deal of my brainpower to come up with this stuff. Isn't that sad? XP

OOC: Hah! She was a shifter! Knew it all along! *Does a little happy dance* Oh, and attempting to poke Arty into RPing is about as easy as attempting to get him to punctuate; not a chance...Oh, and maybe Squirt could somehow end up in contact with Biggs the Slowbro (Come on, everybody loves Biggs, right?^^)? I don't know what the big lug could do for her, but it would be kind of neat. Or maybe Limpy could still be alive? I never specified that he was dead. Just exerting my brainpower here... ^^

{So should I...} Teioh replied at Growlithe's first statement, a wave of guilt running through him as he attempted to follow the scent after the fire pokmon's example. Oh...if only I was an Espeon... he thought for himself in frustration I could track Squirt and whoever took her easily...when I get my hands...well, paws, on whoever is responsible they will regret being born. The boy-Umbreon returned to listening intently to Growlithe as he caught the scent and explained his suspicions.

"Alright..." Teioh communicated to Mara and Seth "We're looking for an adult woman who went into those bushes, let's get a move on!" He picked up the pace himself, although he remained within close proximity of Mara, determined not to let as much as one more of his friends get captured by his enemies.

September 21st, 2005, 7:35 AM
OOC: Oh good. I was hoping it was fairly obvious. ^-^ Why not have her meet up with Biggs? At least then we'd have more characters... >_>

Mara (and Squirt)

"Oh I just can't believe this is happening!" Mara said frantically as they continued to search around. Seth even had his Ekans out helping them to search for the woman. Ekans had a good sense of smell for humans, and it could slither into spots that both Teioh and Growlithe just couldn't get in.

"I'll never forgive myself if anything happens to her...," Mara said in a wavering voice, she was trying not to cry; the others were so brave, and she didn't want to look so childish, "Me... digging around for change for a shake and she was...."

Seth looked at her sympathedically, "We'll find her, I'm sure they must still be here, from the looks of where we're headed they went to the warehouse district."

Mara didn't even want to think of what they could do to her in some old warehouse.

That's when Growlithe stopped and shook his head, {That woman was tricky; I've lost the scent.}

Squirt was really at a loss of what to think. Her mind had always been blank about her past before she met Growlithe and Mara... but not in her wildest dreams did she think that anything like this was the truth.

"This is weird...," was all she could muster saying. And who was that man? Did what he say meant that he was her father? This was starting to end up like a bad soap opera. A door creaked open and Squirt realized that the guard had come back.

He looked over to her and noticed that she was awake.

"Oy! You're awake, are you?" he sneered, looking her over, "Well, unfortunately I've been told to give you these when you wake up." He threw some clothes onto the bars of the cell, and Squirt blinked at the man.

"But I don't know how to put them on," she said in a toneless voice, still shocked about what was happening.

"Just do it," the guard said, and at that moment, the door flung open again, and another guard walked in.

He was burly and was carrying a pokemon of some kind. Squatty and dazed, it appeared to be a Slowbro. The guards talked about how it too would be transferred in the morning and then threw it into the cell across from Squirt, chuckling at her as they left. The door closed with another thud, and Squirt picked up her clothes.

"This is going to feel weird... wearing clothes...," she said, looking them over. She looked across the room to the Slowbro and waved a bit.

"H-Hi! What's your name? I'm Squ- well, wait... I guess I'm not. What did he say my name was? Jennifer?" she looked down at the ground for a moment, thinking to herself, "No! I won't take that name he gave me."

She looked back to the Slowbro, "My name's Squirt! What's yours?"

The Slowbro's glazed-over eyes met with hers, but they didn't seem too attentatvie. However, the pokemon did answer her.

"Name's Biggs. They keep people in cages now too?" he answered back using psychic powers. His eyes glowing bright blue.

"N-no... just me I guess. I used to be a pokemon. Well, actually, I used to be a human and then a pokemon and now I'm a human again. Though all I remember is being a pokemon," she said back to Biggs.

Biggs tried to look sorry for her, but his Slowbro face would only slightly frown. His eyes began to glow again. "Sorry if I can't talk much... get sleepy if I use psychic for too long. Gotten much better though since Limpy and Teioh."

Squirt's head popped out from the shirt she was putting on backwards. "What?! You know Teioh?" she said, looking surprised yet happy. She was really scared, and to have someone that knew someone she knew was somewhat of a comfort.

Biggs looked as if he were attempting a look of surprise, "What? You know Teioh?"

OOC: Hope you don't mind that I made Biggs talk a bit. ^-^ If you want, you can control him from now on. *shrug*

Alter Ego

OOC: Not a problem. It makes sense that he would have improved his psychic powers over time. Although the Slowbro aspect will always be with him and make him a bit...erm, slow. Oh, and maybe we could put Limpy in too.

"It's not your fault." Teioh stated firmly at Mara's comment although he continued following Growlithe, until their trail ran cold that is.

{Let me try...} Teioh said, walking over to the spot where the trail of scent had ended and sniffing the air, perking up his ears to catch up any suspect sounds. The scent was indeed completely gone, but there seemed to be something else; a smell that seemed completely out of place in a warehouse district...after a while, the realization struck him;

{Sweet Scent!} Teioh exclaimed, {I bet she brought along a grass pokmon of some kind to cover her tracks. Probably waited this far on purpose since it's easier to get lost around here. The smell is all over this area.} he took another deep wiff, searching for a direction {And I think...} the boy-umbreon said slowly, turning and pointing his head towards the direction where the smell was freshest {I think it's coming from over there...}

Meanwhile, Biggs had recieved more or less of a breakdown of Squirt's end of the story, listening as intently as he could while the shellder on his tail stared indiferently at the girl.

"I see..." he replied, already feeling a slight strain from his prolonged use of mindspeak "Don't know what to do about it though...too many guards here...too many...and I'm-I'm-getting a bit drowsssss..." the Slowbro yawned widely and then drifted of to sleep, the Shellder on his tail continuing to stare unblinkingly at Squirt.

Meanwhile, somewhere on the outskirts of Biffin Town, a very small, grey-furred Rattata limped his way towards civlization, cursing slowly under his breath. {Had to be a bloody hero I did. 'Run' I said...'Just Run'. Lucky that they tossed my 'corpse' here and not into the grinder though...} the old one mused, continuing to limp without a particular destination, the many bitemarks on his body causing him to wince at every step.

OOC: Hope you're okay with the Sweet Scent part Light Azumarill. ^^ Oh, and I don't mind you controlling Biggs on occassion, he's a kind of sidekick-type character after all, but I'll do so as well. Oh, and he has to sleep a lot because of his Slowbro aspect. ^^

September 21st, 2005, 12:46 PM
OOC: No, not at all, I left it at that so that you could interpret it any way you liked. Yay, Limpy! You'll have to do most of the writing for him though; I don't think I'd do it right, and I'd hate to mess up his character because he's so neat (O.O neat? Why do I still use that word...?). Poor sleepy Biggs... I know how he feels... -_-.

Mara (and Squirt!)

{Sweet Scent!} grumbled Growlithe, {How dare she think she can trick me like that? Did she think I would just give up after a while?} He was angry that there was another obstacle in his way, but he shook it off quickly and began to focus instead on smelling the scent.

Mara calmed a bit because of them getting closer to finding Squirt, but she wondered to herself how they were going to pull this one off. What were they going to do, just walk in and steal Squirt back? What if they got ahold of one of them and... and killed them? Mara shook her head in silent worry, trying not to think of the worst case scenario.

They conitnued to walk for quite some time, all the while Teioh and Growlithe trying their hardest to sniff for any signs to point them in the right direction. The Sweet Scent was strong, and it was starting to get almost overpowering to Growlithe, who shook his head once in a while to try and clear his senses.

That's when he smelled the faintest bit of something else.

{What's tha--?} he stopped though, {Oh, it's only an old, injured Ratatta.} He continued on his way. {Besides, he was probably far from here, it was only a faint scent of blood.}

As Biggs continued to snore loudly, Squirt sat alone thinking to herself.

She tried hard to remember anything about before she washed up on the shore and was found by Mara, but she couldn't. She didn't know if she wanted to anyway. At least she was clothed now. As she thought of this, she remembered a time when it was only about a day after Mara and Growlithe found her. She had felt very strange and stayed in her shell a lot back then, feeling embarrassed everytime she would come out.

Was that because she really had been used to wearing clothes?

She sighed, "Oh I wish I could see myself in a mirror or something. I don't even know if I'm pretty or not."

Just then the door opened again. Three hours since she had been awake had gone by. How much longer until morning, she wondered.

The guard stepped in followed by the man that had spoken to Squirt before she had gotten the syringe stabbed in her.

"Hello there Jennifer," he said coldly.

"Hey, my name's not Jennifer or whatever," she said, trying to muster some courage.

"No need to get fiesty, though you were always good at that. You should know, right Roberts?" he replied, smiling at the guard. The burly guard looked over to Squirt and then smiled too.

Squirt raised an eyebrow. What the heck?

"Don't remember? You and Roberts used to date. Well, you didn't like him much, but your mother thought he had good potential. I didn't care," he sneered, folding his arms.

Squirt couldn't help herself, in fact, it really did look quite funny, "Haa! I dated him? No wonder I didn't like him; he's like a boulder with a head! Haa haa!"

Roberts didn't look too pleased about that comment, but for some reason Squirt wasn't feeling threatened. Insulting him just seemed to be the right thing to do.

She stopped her chuckling to see her father and Roberts turn around and leave. As they closed the door, she heard Roberts say to her father, "Looks like she's still the same annoying little gnat."

And her father replied, "I don't care."

The Warehouse District was dark and eerie. Shadows hung in peculiar places, and darks figures seemed to lurk around every corner. Even at night, it was never entirely black; green security lights glared down from every building, giving it an outlandish atmosphere.
The girl walking through the narrow allies was just as mysterious as the district; she was dressed all in black. Tight black jeans, a black woollen poncho, and a black bandanna was wrapped around her head. Her dark brown hair feel to around her elbows, and at first glance she appeared to be wearing a shimmering, shaking cape. At her feet, trotted a large houndoom. It had a wiry, wily sort of look about it - like it had seen one too many harsh winters, and lost too much weight to ever regain.

She moved through the streets while every one slept. Like the cats that screamed and spat all night. she seemed to prowl from warehouse to warehouse, stopping at every door. She seemed to fumble with several sets of keys while her pokemon watched. However, none seemed to fit, and she moved on.

Alter Ego
September 22nd, 2005, 8:21 AM
OOC: Question, is the Houndoom a part of Charon's team? Because it's not listed on the sign-up sheet...

{Old, bleeding Rattata?} Teioh echoed quietly at Growlithe's comment {Nah...it couldn't be...} he shook his head, discarding the thoughts and focusing his mind onto the trail once more.

Suddenly Teioh froze, his senses tingling to indicate the presence of another person and a pokmon in the area. The Boy-Umbreon peeled his eyes, finally spotting a female dressed in black, accompanied by a shifty-looking Houndoom, who was apparently fiddling with the nearby warehouse doors. There was no grass pokmon in sight of course, but she would no doubt have recalled it to throw them of the trail. And this was simply too suspicious.

"Over there..." Teioh communicated to the others, pointing out the foreign trainer and her pokmon, his rings glowing fiercely as he focused a Mean Look on the duo to prevent escape. "That could be our kidnapper..."

September 22nd, 2005, 8:28 AM
{Changed her party. It's now:
Houndoom ♂ > Rave
Nidorino ♂
Victreebell ♂
Sorry about that, I forgot to mention it earlier.}

The girl was onto the fourth warehouse now - and was apparently getting fed-up.
These bloody buildings all look the same!
She swore under her breath, causing the Houndoom to look up and give her a disapproving glare.
She shot a glance around the district. There were still six, no, seven warehouses to check... and eighteen keys... This was harder that she had expected. The job description had been 'Break in, Steal, Get out' - but she was still struggling with the first instruction. How unusual!
The houndoom yawned, and adjusted himself so he was shielding her from view some more. Guarding was so boring... he couldn't wait to get to the fighting part.

Alter Ego

OOC: Hmm...so she didn't notice the Mean Look that was sneakily placed upon her? Well, works for me. XD

Without bothering to wait for a reply, Teioh melded with the shadows surrounding him and snuck up on the duo that still seemed to be too preoccupied with something else to bother with them. The boy-Umbreon scrutinized their potential enemy in search of any place where she might have put Squirt, but couldn't find anything, especially with that wiry looking Houndoom in the way. To top it all, the Sweet Scent seemed to have dulled Teioh''s nose and he was, at the moment, incapable of telling one scent from the other. He snuck a bit closer, leaving the safety of the deepest shadows but still remaining out of view, hoping that the strong smell pentrating the area would dull the Houndoom's senses as well.

Meanwhile on the very outskirts of Biffin Town, the grey-furred Rattata lay down on the ground, panting and feeling unable to take another step. He stared reproachfully at the sky, his breath coming of as slightly wheezing "So this is freedom..." he muttered sourly "It's overrated." The Rattata stared up towards the sky, his vision slowly becoming a blur and his whole body beginning to feel incredibly light, as if drifting of the ground.

Had anyone else been there to witness the scene, they would surely have mistaken it as being nothing more than another case of a local Murkrow picking up a meal for itself and carrying it towards its nest in the Warehouse district.

In the LG facility, the Shellder on Biggs' tail seemed to be following the conversation between Squirt and Roberts even though its owner was sound asleep. At the girl's last comment the Slowbro suddenly gave a hearty laugh, seemingly in his sleep, {Hah!} Biggs suddenly boomed, his eyes still shut {That's too true! You'd make a fine Graveler you would!} the male then returned to his previous state of snoring with an ever so slight smile etched on his face, leaving Roberts with the distinct impression that he had been insulted even though he hadn't understood a word of the poktalk.

September 22nd, 2005, 8:48 AM
The girl groaned. Yet another door, yet another set of keys that hadn't worked.
Her urge to stomp and shout rising, she turned to leave - and found she couldn't. She was rooted to the spot. Her legs had frozen from the knee downwards - and refused to work.
She looked to her houndoom desperately. "Rave, you smell anything?" she asked.
Rave the houndoom lifted his head, sniffing tenatively. He glanced back to his trainer, his wide eyed expression telling all. He was drawing up blanks. For some reason his trainer was stuck, and he had no idea why.
Coran thought for a moment. And then for another moment. And then one moment more. A thought struck her. "Get ready to use flamethrower," she whispered, "if you hear any sudden movements... don't hesitate to attack."
After all... she hadn't been stuck five minutes ago. Someone had to be nearby, either springing some sort of trap or using a pokemon to trap her. Now she was stuck, they'd probably approach.

Alter Ego
September 22nd, 2005, 8:56 AM
Dang, forgot about that... Teioh cursed in his mind, drawing backwards as the Houndoom began sniffing the air. Luckily, his scent had been just as masked that of their prey (He had no idea why he thought of them as such, but he did) and the Houndoom couldn't smell any more than the Umbreon did. After a pause, the girl whispered something to her pokmon. Although Teioh couldn't quite tell what it was but judging by the alert way in which the Houndoom began to act it was fairly obvious that being seen wasn't prudent at the moment. The dark pokmon seemed to be perking its ears now, attempting to discern him by sound rather than smell or sight, and the boy-Umbreon froze to keep even the faintest of sound from leaving him.

"Come on guys..." he sent out to his friends, "I might need a hand over here..." he then resumed sizing up his opponent in case things would get ugly. Teioh actually felt fairly strong in this form, and the naturally high endurance that came with being an Umbreon would certainly help him in the event of a battle. But Houndooms were well-known for being strong...

September 24th, 2005, 6:36 AM

"Teioh wait!" hissed Mara as the Umbreon's body slinked away into the shadows. Mara and Seth were a bit worried that they would be discovered. Mara more than Seth. She hadn't been in many situations that required her to rescue a friend from an evil organization.

{Fool, I'll follow him,} sighed Growlithe, annoyed partially because Teioh had bounded off, and partially because he wanted to be the one to rescue Squirt. After all, they had been friends longer. Who did he think he was? His eyes squinted in concentration as he followed the Umbreon.

There was a young woman and her Houndoom seemingly standing guard. Growlithe saw Teioh use a Mean Look, and then noticed that the Houndoom looked ready to take on whoever was nearby. It assumed an attack-ready pose.

Growlithe looked over to Teioh and decided that he'd better do something or they'd never get anywhere. Perhaps if he could distract the attention of the Houndoom, Teioh could take on the human girl.

He nodded, and then slinked off to another spot away from Teioh so that it would look as if they came from different locations.

He sprang out at the Houndoom with a growl. {Looking for me!} he snarled, running in front of the large, black pokemon. Hopefully, this would work.

"Biggs, I don't know if I want to remember my past, "Squirt said with a sigh, "What if I was some mean person or something?"

{I don't think that's true. You're not mean now, are ya'?} Biggs said lazily, yawning.

Squirt looked down at her human hands. "No... and I don't want to be either. That would be too weird. I also know I don't want to see my mother," she said, frowning.

{Why's that?} asked Biggs, the shellder on his tail looking up at the barred window of the cell.

"I don't know why. I just have this feeling of anger and dread when I think of her wanting to see me. I wish...," her eyes got watery, but her expression stayed defiant, "I wish Growlithe and Teioh and Mara were here."

Alright Teioh... the boy-Umbreon said in his mind, concentrating on the girl in front of him and mentally preparing to strike as Growlithe lunged forward to distract the Houndoom Let's make this one, clean, sweep. Under the cover of Growlithe's noise, he snuck through the shadows until he stood right opposite to his target. Well... Teioh thought This is it...

Suddenly, the shifter lunged into clear view with terrifying speed, his rings glowing brightly to add to his intimidation power as he charged at the trainer, bluntly knocking her to the ground and growling treatheningly to keep her from sending assistance to the Houndoom. Surely, Growlithe could deal with this foe without assistance.

September 24th, 2005, 10:00 AM
The houndoom reacted in an instant; tail swinging, he vanished, only to reappear pratically on top of the growlithe. Instintively, he lunged forward, teeth ready to perform Crunch -
"Ouch!" the girl cried out. Her body seemed to crumple; she fell to her knees. The houndoom stopped, mid-leap, and came crashing to a halt beside his growlithe foe. His bright red eyes flashed with anger, as his gaze fell on the umbreon - how dare they attack my Coran?
He bowed his head, teeth bared.

Coran stared up at the Umbreon warily. Rave could handle himself - his Faint Attack had shrown her that - but now she was being threatened, she guessed things would get pretty dirty. "Get back!" she muttered, meeting it's intense amber gaze. Don't start a fight, she begged silently.

{Yes...} Teioh said, adressing the Houndoom and fixing him with an intense stare from his light blue eyes {Stand down and no-one will be hurt.} He maintained his vigil over the girl, but did his best not to hurt her. This idea was beginning to seem worse and worse to Teioh however, as the girl certainly wasn't acting in a manner that was usual for an LG operative. In fact, the emotions radiating from her were heavily laced with fear and confusion. "Mara, Seth..." he called telepathically "We've got things under control. You can come over now."

September 24th, 2005, 10:27 AM
The houndoom snarled. He didn't want to stand down, he wanted to fight, and smash that cocky little umbreon's face in. But... he couldn't bear to risk it. He dropped down onto his haunches, and then, thinking better of it, lay all the way down. He even went as far as to dip his head apologetically, but all the while his eyes still burnt with anger. {Back away,} he growled at the umbreon, {Back away now, or you're gonna start hurting something chronic!}

The girl watched her pokemon desperately. Rave freaked out a lot. He was that kind of dog. If he freaked out now... well, it was unthinkable.
"Please, get off." she told the umbreon softly. She hoped he'd have the sense to listen.

{Now what's the magic word?} Teioh asked tauntingly. Noticing that the Houndoom's behaviour was reaching manical proportions and hearing the genuine concern in the girl's plea, he reluctantly decided to play along.

"Fine, but don't try anything." the boy-Umbreon shot into her head as he released her from beneath his bulk, still watching both her and the Houndoom suspiciously. It wasn't like he was loosing anything by revealing his talent of mindspeak. After all, every LG operative would surely be aware of his...condition. If anything, this would serve to prove wether this was the one they were searching for or not. "We only came to get our friend." he added, wondering what was taking Seth and Mara so long and hoping that he wasn't making a big mistake "Where did you take the Squirtle?" he asked, his mindvoice gaining a hard edge and his eyes blazing dangerously.

September 24th, 2005, 12:17 PM
The houndoom rose to his feet, towering over the umbreon threateningly for a moment, before padding over to lie diligently across his trainer's lap. His let out a low growl, before finally closing his eyes.

The girl petted him absent mindedly, all her thoughts on the umbreon. We? she thought, and cast an anxious glance about. And he mentioned a squirtle too... so did my commissioner...
"First thing's first." she said, her voice strengthening, "Who are you? And how come you can use telepathy?"
In all honesty, she didn't paticularily care about his name. She just wanted to check whether she was right about the gender - without having to suffer the embarressment of bending down and checking. The umbreon's vocie was masculine, no doubt about it, but with pokemon you never could be sure. She liked to be certain about these things. For nearly a decade now, her life had been full of 'ifs'. This wasn't going to be another one, trifle as it might have seemed.
As for the telepathy... It brought back memories.

Unbenknownst to Coran, Teioh actually skimmed her surface thoughts before she spoke. She obviously knows something... he thought for himself Let's just see how much...

"Who am I?" Teioh echoed, slightly taken aback by the question. Was she trying to play some kind of mindgame? He regained his composure however, giving of a mirthless chuckle. "Yes, you lot probably don't care too much about who you involve in your little scheemes, do you?" he asked, his mindvoice regaining its previous edge "But before I tell you my name I would know yours, and what you did to the Squirtle, don't bother denying, I have already sensed that you know something so I suggest that you answer honestly, I will know if you don't."

September 24th, 2005, 12:36 PM
Coran tensed up, and her Houndoom became automatically alert. He shot Teioh a warning glare; he was smaller, weaker, and despite his growlithe back-up, could be dealt with easily. Rave wasn't in the mood for games.
Neither was Coran.
"I haven't done anything to a squirtle," she spat at him, her hands automatically reaching for her pokemon's neck. She leant closer to her houndoom, a growing look of suspicion evident in her eyes. The guy that was paying her had mentioned it in passing... but under his breath, not to her. She had nothing to do with a Squirtle. To be perfectly honest, she never had liked those whiney little water types.

Teioh returned the Houndoom's glare unflinchingly. He might have been smaller, but there was a fierce glow in the boy-Umbreon's eyes that suggested that he was more than ready to grind his opponent into the dirt nonetheless, or die trying. If he had to defeat this Houndoom to get to his friend then that would be what he would do, plain and simple. What really disturbed Teioh was the fact that, despite his best efforts, he couldn't find any trace of falsehood in the girl's words, which lead to the nagging suspicion that they had nabbed the wrong person. He still had to make sure, Squirt's life was on the line here and there was no room for maybes. "Squirt is not whiny!" came a rebellious shot of mindspeech from Teioh at the girl's last surface thoughts, an exclamation which he certainly hadn't meant to release. The boy-Umbreon sighed, slightly concerned that there might be other things leaking through; emotions of worry and confusion, maybe it was better to take another approach to this. "I see..." he replied slowly, acting as if his previous outburst hadn't occured "Far be it from me to pose a simple question and hope that an LG employee would actually provide a straight answer for once. Let's start this out correctly, shall we? My name is Teioh, and there's no need for that suspicious look..." he added "If I intended to harm you then I would already have done so when I had the chance. Now would you please tell me your name?"

Coran had heard a powerful mixture of emotions in his mindvoice. Anger, Confusion, and perhaps the faintest trace of fear. His fierce amber eyes were a mesh of feelings, and Coran found herself struggling against the urge to hug this rude, but oh-so-sad umbreon to her chest. There was something about him... Coran guessed he had been through a lot. Most likely he had lost a lot, too.
"Teioh... I'm Coran." she replied, and ran her fingers along Rave's horned head. The houndoom spoke up at her words, too.
{I'm Rave.} he said, directly to the umbreon, {And she's telling the truth. We've never had nothing to do with a squirtle, save a brush with the fire squad when we was younger.} Now the houndoom had stopped growling, his voice had become soft, almost melodous (sp?). He had settled down now, but there was still that look of deep-rooted mistrust in his scarlet orbs.

OOC: Side note, Teioh's eyes are actually light blue, it's kind of a part of his human form appearing in his pokmon shape.

The change in the manner of both Coran and the Houndoom, who introduced himself as Rave, didn't go unnoticed by Teioh and he couldn't really find any deceit in the dog pokmon's words either. "I see..." he replied, his mindvoice now sounding far more regretful and far less hard "It-it would seem that I have been mistaken then." he said after a pause "Perhaps you aren't the ones we're after. I-apologize...with my sense of smell clouded I couldn't tell the difference. But could you tell me, what are you doing around these warehouses at this hour?"

Coran's eyes narrowed ever so slightly, but she smiled despite herself. "I would say nothing, but I doubt you're that stupid." She shook her hand so the keys she grapsed jangled slightly, "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." She stroked the umbreon's long ears fondly. She had always loved umbreons, with their long ears and knowing amber eyes... Except this beast, for some reason, appeared to have blue ones. She pulled her hand away, and began stroking her houndoom again. Coran was an extremely cuddly person, but she had always seen touching another person's pokemon a bit of a taboo. God forgive anyone that touched Rave... the houndoom was like an extension of herself, and despite his bad temper and jumpy nature, he was part of her.
Sh glanced down at him; he was sniffing the air, a look of utmost confusion on his face. For a moment, Coran couldn't quite figure out what it was. Then she turned to Teioh: "Is your trainer around?" she asked, suddenly feeling more wary. Such an intellignet, tame pokemon had to have a human partner. No way could it be wild.

However, Coran had reahced the wrong conclusion. Rave was sniffing for quite a different reason. It was nothing to do with scenting a human; more, scenting an imposter. He turned Teioh, lowering his head. {You're not an Umbreon,"} he muttered, half to himself, {"You don't smell quite right..."}
