Well I guess I'll do what I did a few years ago...WRITING!!

Now my poems aren't exceptional or nuthin, but I think they're decent. Each line has 10 syallables..

...Angel...

I see an angel before my mind's eye,
Yet she has no wings and she cannot fly.
Her clothes are tattered and her face is raw.
The most perfect angel I ever saw.

Be thou my vision oh angel of day.
My mind is made up and I will not sway.
An angel, you may not be to the world.
You are my great being, my perfect girl

BOO ya!

I came up with this one here because i was listening to Switchfoot. The first line may seem familiar to fans of "Meant to Live." 10 syllables a line again

...If Life...

If we were meant to live for so much more,
Why does pure living make my mind so sore?
If we all found a place where we belong,
Would one man's scream be another man's song?

If youth's true desires are to grow old
Why does time fly faster than can be told?
If death is truly the end of the line,
Where do souls go when the body declines?

O_O

*that means Dakota is a 50 something year old man with grey hair with a grand daughter, but also a very evil yet dirty (would consider someone to be at least somewhat dirty to be finding homosexual reference in Odyssey -_-;; ) teacher? Interesting*

*so that means Dakota is married too! (gasp) Wonder who it is... ooo*

*back on the poetry... set rhythm and set rhymes... very traditional type of poems. My Angel is direct and so sweet ^_^. (yay no symbolism crap that he has to study in english class!) *

*for If Life... it's more complexed... it's almost as if there is a switch in speaker between line 6 and 7. The first 6 lines are all imagery of a pessimist and they all speak about unfortunates and death. Suddenly it switches to the point of view of someone who ponders on life and afterlife (heaven and the heaven-opposite). Sounds like someone who is curious and yearns for knowledge about afterlife. The voice of mourning and sorrow is kinda... gone in comparison to the earlier lines... most interesting. Should reread that tomorrow and see if new feelings will hit me or something*

heh, thas cool...I got another one...10 syllables a line...this poem's a little different...

...The Calm...

For thoughts of The Calm have been beneath me,
My mind wanders to areas unknown.
The Calm oversees, and does beseech me,
For it gives me will that I have not shown.

The Calm won't waver to my meager thoughts,
It does what it knows is what's best for me.
It fights for my life and doesn't be naught,
I think it's too good for eternity.

hah, I wrote this in the 10 min before I have to go...

BOO ya!

*that is 10 minute work...? No wonder why Dakota wins all those writing MOTM in the past... (changes Frosty's voting blueprint again)*

*err... is it ok if Frosty takes a foolish guess that The Calm is the Holy Spirit within us?*

*ding ding ding ding*

har har frosty...ok, I'm gonna time this one here on my watch...10 syllables a line

GO!

...Death on Snow Fields...

I could see her face as she lay in snow,
Her last breath was nigh, and her thoughts were slow.
I picked up her head, trying to revive her,
But in mere moments, her death would tie her.

But, why should she die in a place like this?
In this morbid asyllums cruel abyss.
If I could do one thing to stop her death,
Why couldn't life have chosen me instead?

TIME!!

5:40:02

That was the time it took to write the poem...shizzah, whadya think?

I'm doing this one while listening to pain for pleasure by Sum 41...time...10 syllables a line..

...Pain for Pleasure...

GO!

I could feel the blade as it drove through me,
My adversary cried from up above.
I knew that I had lost our fighting duel,
A duel which came not for hate, but for love.

I was near my death for she had killed me,
I wouldn't have it any other way.
Tis better my death to protect my son,
Than for her anger to ruin his stay.

My body felt cold and I couldn't breath,
I could hear the angels as I flew high.
I have no regrets that I fell this day,
In the end someone would have had to die.

I was at the gates and entrance was mine,
Before I went in I did something more.
I glanced through the clouds and onto my wife,
To see her hug my new son, evermore.

TIME

7:56:03

Whew, I did one twice as long this time, hope ya like it...

hmm, I think I'll do this one a little differently than usual...

...His Power...

On the street I heard his stalking,
With vile tongue and cursed talking,
Talking, talking by the hour.
His way of motive, for surely shocking,
For if I did not do the talking,
He'd come to me with but his power.

His power, I knew, was all but mocking,
Mocking me for I was gauking,
Gauking at his unusual flower.
His torn black flower, each petal daunting,
Hanging in his hat while walking,
Walking closer to my metal tower.

My tower, I knew, won't keep back this knocking,
Frivolous and vibrant knocking,
Knocking on my metal tower,
The door I opened, to this man's flaunting,
Flaunting words to me, which shocking,
"You soul is in my power."

Kinda dark and wierd...but c'mon now, I'm just making this up as I go...shizzah

BOO ya!

Lol, why do you think that? I'll probably die falling down my stairs. ._.' I've already tripped down them about 20 times, lol.

And great poems, Dakota! I don't see how you can do them so fast. ^_^; I have trouble making just two sentences rhyme, much less a paragraph.

My latest poem! 10 syllables a line....I won't bnother with the whole time thing, it rushes me...

...I wonder...

I oft sit and think of what life would be,
Had I not been born from my family tree.
What if I were another race of men,
That be my h e l l or that be my heaven?

If my mind were taken out of my head,
Would a new body think new thoughts instead?
What if I were that girl or that boy there
Treat people different with new sorts of care?

If I think of being a different man's son,
Shouldn't their thoughts think the same as my one?
When I think so much of other man's being...
Does that person wonder life being me?

I think it's ok...I should redo this one later on

BOO person!
