Information on Feebas is already in the RS FAQ. Read it before asking next time.
Catching Feebas and Milotic
I higly recommend catching Feebas for these three reasons -
1) To complete the pokedex
2) For some bragging rights
3) To obtain a milotic which is has great Special Attack and Special Defense, along with a great move pool.
What You Will Need
1) old/good/super rod [old is preferred as Feebas can be caught with it, but u don't have to waste time with other pokemon besides magicarp and a few tentacool. It can be obtained by a fisher in Dewford town. He stands near to the gym]
2) approximately 5 pokeballs [higher grades are not nessary for such a weak pokemon] as you will want to catch a few feebas.
3) a pokemon that knows surf [HM slave ^_^]
4) a pokemon that knows fly [not a must but after sitting in that water for so long i would think u would want to get out of there as quickly as possible]
Feebas is a rare little fish pokemon. How rare you ask??
Well let me see. It is obtainable in 6 tiles [sections of surfing water] out of approximately 400 tiles of surfing water on route 119.
Now thats something isn't it??
The feebas tiles are random and if you change the "Popular Phrase" in Dewford town the tile positions are RANDOMLY RESET[ie you can't take someone else's 'popular phrase' and try fishing where they got their feebas. It won't work.]
Now that you have what u need head up to the base of route 119. Do this by flying/walking to mauville and then surfing across the narrow stripe of water right of the gym.
Now you will be on route 119. This is a very long route [unfortunately] packed with sections of water [potential feebas grounds] along its length. I recommend you start form the first pond you come across. Start form one corner and work your way up. Fishing in each tile you move into.I recommend fishing 3 - 5 times in one tile as any less may allow our fishy friend to slip through and any more would be overkill.
Now all this sucks i must admit, but when u do find the feebas tile you will be pleasently surprised to find that they will appear with a 60-80% probability. Which is, in my opinion, fairly sweet. The only hard part would be finding the six tiles it appears in. And based on the 60-80% appearance rate, you'll be able to figure out if it's in the tile you're fishing in or not pretty quickly. So if you don't find a feebas after a couple of tries in the same tile, move on to the next tile.

Stop double posting! That could have easily been editted into the last. I really see no reason in changing the Dewford phrase.

If you only want to catch Feebas for the evolution, then here's a tip for evolving it. You must go to the Berry Master's house and talk to his wife. She'll ask you if you know a neat phrase or something like that. Choose the two words "CHALLENGE CONTEST", and she'll give you a Pamtre Berry. Go plant it and water it. It'll take 72 hours to grow, and you only get two each time it's fully grown. Be patient because you need 5 or 6 Pamtre Berries. Okay, after you have them all, Check the TVs in peoples houses if they're flashing. Once in awhile it'll say that the Pokéblock Master is coming to Lilycove in a mere 2 days. Wait the 2 days and then go to the Contest Hall in Lilycove City. You should save before you blend with the master incase you screw up and get any X's. The Master always gets the boost so try to get as many boosts as you can. Recommended Pokéblock level: 55-57. Use the Pamtre Berries only because they give you 3+ DRY, which is beauty. Make all the Pokéblocks, give them to the feebas til it's beauty is maxed out, then level up one level.
(I'd recommend that you hatch the feebas that you catch so you can have a level 6 Milotic in the end. Unless you're using an Old Rod)
It's alot of work but it's worth it. Goodluck

Usually catching a feebas is all sheer luck. 6 out of the 400 tiles in the area will have feebas spawning in it. You can try indigo pokeblocks on feebas to evolve it.

If they aren't high enough level pokeblocks, then the Feebas will get full and not eat anymore before it's beauty is maxed out. Try the Gold pokeblocks. Ingrediants: Pamtre berry, Berry Master's talent, and a little of your own. 5 or 6 'ought to do it.

o, one more thing: don't use an ar because the code for milotic and feebas doesn't work! believe me, i did that, so im trying the non-cheating way :D
SRV
August 6th, 2005, 12:17 AM
Why would you cheat to get it anyway? If it was unobtainable I'd understand, but Feebas?

I have 5 Feebas. I run into them all the time. Are they supposed to be hard to catch?

Well, if you read the second post, then you'd probably have a better understanding about the rare little fish pokemon. It nests in only 6 tiles out of approxomitely 400 on Route 119. Fish five times in each tile, and everytime the trendy phrase changes in Dewford, Feebas' nest changes. But all this is no new information, just making it easier for the skateboard kid.

Try breeding the feebas that you caught.

Wow, I didn't know they were so rare. I just ran into them by luck I guess

What was your trendy phrase in Dewford? If it is the same as mine than the Feebas are probably breeding in the same spots.
SRV
August 7th, 2005, 12:56 AM
Well, my trendy phrase right now is "MYSTERY BIKE". I'm not sure if it was that when I caught my Feebas, but I fished south from the bridge, and on the little patch of land. There's only two spots and I stood on the right closest to the tree. So maybe if your phrase is the same as mine, you could try looking where I did. I'm not sure if what you said is true though, so don't get your hopes up.
Simon
August 7th, 2005, 01:36 AM
That might work, but it has a very low chance. Everytime you change the Dewford phrase, the six tiles where Feebas appears are randomized. The chance of two people changing the phrase to the same thing and having the tiles randomized to the same six tiles are VERY slim, but it's possible. Slim to the point of being pointless to try IMO.

If your unchanged Dewford phrase is the same as someone elses unchanged phrase than the locations are the same.
Simon
August 7th, 2005, 01:50 AM
There are roughly 350 tiles of water on Route 119. That's a less than 2% (6/350=1.71%) chance of finding those six tiles. And I hope you know you can fish while surfing on your Pokemon thing as well. If you're just fishing from bridges and land you'll have a harder time finding it.

There are actually more than 400 tiles to look at. o.O

[Just keep fishing with the old rod... Twice on each spot works well.]

Uh, I don't think that you can fish from bridges, but most people know that you can fishing while on Wailmer. Otherwise you probably wouldn't find it. But I was lucky and fished on land, but I was looking for a Carvanha..

You caught it while fishing?
Simon
August 7th, 2005, 02:04 AM
Confused cause i dont know what rod to use.Feebas can be fished up using any rod, but Feebas can be comparable to a Magikarp so an Old Rod works best since it won't fish up other Pokemon like Tentacool.
Is Reclanath supposed to be rare too?
~TSBK~Yes.

There are actually more than 400 tiles to look at. o.OWhatever. The result is still less than 2%. I'm not going to go and count every surfable tile on Route 119.

It doesn't matter as long as you have one(emerald). You can catch Ditto in the Desert Underpass, and breed. Catch it if you want. But this is getting a bit off topic.

And you can find the pokemon that you fish up in Pacifolog town anywhere, so why bother fishing from the logs? I don't think there are any other "bridges" in the game other then in Pacifolog.

Aren't those the ones next to the weather buildingYou can't fish from that. But you can go down the stairs north of it to the land below, get in the water and then fish.
What are those "bridges"?I'm talking about these kind of "bridges".

I guess the correct word for them is planks. Isn't it?
I've looked all over Route 119 and couldn't find the "bridges". There are white rails for the acro bike past the waterfall but that's it.Then I guess there aren't any planks on Route 119. My Pokemon game choice at the moment is LG, not Sapphire, so my memory of the game's terrain isn't that great.

That's no bridge. That is what we call a dock, Simon. Anyway, this is pretty stupid. Why don't we just change this thread to "Bridges/Docks"?... Sceptiles Master, are you satisfied with the posts, and have you caught a Feebas yet?

Sceptiles Master, are you satisfied with the posts, and have you caught a Feebas yet? That's not a dock. Well, in that case, it would be. Buit I'm talking about the wood itself, not it's purpose. There's a whole route filled with them south of Lavender Town all the way down to Fuschia.

Who cares? This really isn't the place to debate that. Since you like to talk about planks or docks or whatever you want to call them, create your own thread on them. This thread is specifically about catching Feebas.
Sorry if that sounded mean, but there is no point to continue talking about it. So, stop.

August 8th, 2005, 02:25 AM
